Abstract

This research aimed to identify misconception of senior high school students class XI in SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe in learning concept of factors that affect chemical reaction rate. The instrument used in this research was 20 multiple choice questions with reasons and equipped by CRI (Certainty of Response Index) which is used to measure the degree of certainty of students? answers. There were 38 students as respondents in this research. The data shown that 13,16% of students held misconceptions relating to the effect of surface area on rates of reaction, 57,89% students held misconceptions relating to the effect of catalyst on rates of reaction, 57,89% students held misconceptions relating to the effect of temperature on rates of reaction, However there none of students misunderstood about the effect of reactant concentration and pressure  to chemical reaction rate and most of them understood about the collision theory.

Abstract

In this research, a series of batch laboratory experiments were conducted to examine the feasibility of Meandg?s (Litsea sp) saw dust for the removal of cadmium from simulated aqueous solution by using adsorption method. The research was carried out by studying the influence of pH of initial solution, contact time, adsorbent dosage, stirring speed, and the initial concentration of cadmium. The sawdust particle size used was 150 mesh and the experiments were conducted at room temperature of 27oC (±2oC). The residual concentration of cadmium from all batch experiments were analyzed using Atomic Adsorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) and each component equilibrium data was analyzed using Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. The research findings shown that the optimum conditions are found to be at the pH of 6, the initial concentration of cadmium of 500 ppm with contact time of one hour, 3 gram of sawdust, and the optimum stirring at the speed of 350 rpm. The adsorption capacity of medang sawdust according to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms are found respectively to be of 2.29 mg/g and 0.55 mg/g.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memanfaatkan getah pepaya (Carica papaya) sebagai katalis pada pembuatan biodisel dari minyak jelantah. Getah pepaya (Carica papaya) diperoleh dari Lembah Seulawah Aceh Besar dan minyak jelantah berasal dari Kentucky Fried Chiken (KFC). Target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah mendapatkan informasi tentang kemampuan getah papaya (Carica papaya) bertindak sebagai sumber enzim lipase. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa getah pepaya (Carica papaya) dapat berfungsi sebagai sumber enzim lipase pada proses transesterifikasi antara minyak jelantah dan 1-butanol. Struktur butil ester ditegaskan oleh spektrum FT-IR pada 1746 cm-1 untuk regang  C=O dan pada 1213,7 cm -1 untuk regang C-O. Meskipun demikian, butil ester yang dihasilkan masih bercampur dengan alkohol dan asam lemak bebas yang ditegaskan adanya puncak pada 3350,5 cm-1 untuk regang ?O-H.

Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the antioxidant activity of purple sweet potato leaves cultivated in Saree, Aceh Besar. The study was conducted in two stages. The first stage included sampel preparation, phytochemical test, ? max determination, testing of antioxidant activity by reducing power method, and TLC analysis. In stage 2 purification using column chromatography, phytochemical test, and antioxidant activity test were performed. The sample was dissolved by using 70% ethanol and 1.5 N HCl with a ratio of 85:15 (v/v). Phytochemical test results showed that the sample consisted of not only flavonoids but also tannins. The Rf value for both sample and standard are respectively 0.55 and 0.61 with absorbance value of 0.826 and 0.845. The sample was then purified using column chromatography and 25 fractions were grouped based on the color intensity abbreviated as FA, FB and FC. Photochemical test was then conducted to examine the purity of obtained fraction and FB was found to be relatively purer than other fractions. Reducing power test of FB with variation of weight 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg, and 50 mg gave the percentage inhibition 64.1, 6.7, 67.9, 70.3 and 73.6, respectively, while the percentage value of ?- tocopherol at simmilar weight variation are 32.1, 36.7, 43.5 and 50.2%. From the result obtained, it can be concluded that the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of thick purple sweet potato leaves is higher than ?-tocopherol.Keywords: antioxidant activity, purple sweet potato leaves, reducing power

Abstract

Di era digital dimana pertumbuhan teknologi melaju pesat dan dinamis, peserta didik harus didorong untuk mengikuti tren perilaku belajar yang memanfaatkan perangkat teknologi yang lebih dikenal dengan technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). Oleh karena itu, pendidik harus mengambil peran penting dalam menyampaikan pengetahuan melalui pemanfaatan teknologi seluler seperti smartphone. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi pembelajaran interaktif yang memadukan game, kuis, dan video pada materi larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit, dan menguji usabilitas penggunaan aplikasi di universitas. Penggunaan aplikasi yang diberi nama E-lite ini tidak hanya mengakomodasi pengetahuan dari konsep yang ditargetkan tetapi juga mencakup permainan, multimedia dan uji kemampuan diri yang memungkinkan peserta didik untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar mereka dalam mempelajari kimia. Pengukuran kemudahan penggunaan aplikasi dan umpan balik pengguna terhadap aplikasi ini melibatkan 50 orang mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Syiah Kuala sebagai responden yang dipilih berdasarkan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Kepada mahasiswa diberikan angket system usability scale (SUS) yang berisi 10 pertanyaan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa skor usabilitas mencapai 85,95%, sedangkan validitas konten memiliki nilai 96,3% dan validitas aplikasi adalah sebesar  83%. Oleh karena itu, aplikasi ini secara umum dinyatakan valid dan dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk konsep larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit pada tingkat perguruan tinggi atau universitas.

Abstract

This research?s aim is to find out the effect of pyrolisis temperature to the biochar product from chocolate?s rind. The sample of rind of 20 kg is come from Indrapuri, Great Aceh. The water level of the sample is determined and then it was pyrolised with pyrolisator at the temperatures of 300, 400, and 500oC. The biochar gotten is then measured its rendemen and characterized which comprised of flying substance level, ash, bonded carbon, nitrogen, phosphor, potassium, and then the chemical substances were identified by using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GCMS). Pyrolisis product of biochars at the temperatures of 300, 400, and 500oC were gained rendemen of 8.98; 8.45, and 8.35% (w/w) in a row. These biochars have physical appearance of black with brittle texture. It were gained biochars?s characteristic product of water level at 3.93% (300oC), 2.43% (400oC), and 1.50% (500oC) respectively; flying substance level at 47.13% (300oC), 29.58% (400oC) and 25.48% (500oC); ash level at15.70% (300oC), 17.14% (400oC), and 18.02% (500oC), bonded carbon at 37.16% (300oC), 53.37% (400oC), and 56.32% (500oC). The highest level of nitrogen (3.51%) is gained with biochar?s pyrolisis product at the temperature 300oC, meanwhile for the 500 dan 400oC, their nitrogen level are 1.29 and 0.86%. Phosphor level at biochar?s pyrolisis product at the temperature of 300, 400 and 500oC in a row are 0.90; 0.43; 1.39% and potassium level at this biochar are 3.34,4.73, and 4.41% consecutively. GCMS analysis result to the biochar?s pyrolisis product at the temperature of 300oC was identified 40 compounds with their main contents is 4-beta-5-dihydroneronin (22.02%), whereas at the temperatures of 400 dan 500oC respective are identified of 11 and 23 compounds, however their main contents is oleat acid with the level of 62.47 dan 49.84% in a row. It can be concluded that biochar?s characteristics of chocolate?s rind is determined by pyrolisis temperature.

Abstract

Synthesis of 1,4-Benzodiazepine via reaction of ethylendiamine with 3-phenyl-1,2-dioxine has been carried out. The first step of this experiment was conversion of triphenyl phosphine to triphenyl metyl phosphine iodide which was then used to form phenyl butadiene from cinnamaldehyde. The synthesis of phenyl dioxine was done via photochemical reaction of phenyl butadiene with oxygen gas in the presence of tetraphenyl posphene. The coupling reaction between phenyl phosphine and ethylendiamine was carried out under atmospheric pressure at room temperature. All steps of these reactions were confirmed using TLC with appropriate eluents and the resulting compounds were purified using column chromatography. In addition, all products structure including phenyl dioxine and 1,4-benzodiazepine were determined using HNMR.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian yang berjudul “Pengembangan Media Cerpen dalamPembelajaran Kimia pada Materi Zat Aditif pada Makanan untuk MeningkatkanHasil Belajar Siswa Kelas VIII MTsN Rukoh”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui perbedaan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dankelas kontrol, aktivitas, dan tanggapan siswa terhadap pengembangan media cerpenkimia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatankualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelaseksperimen dan kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan limatahap yaitu: (1) Analisis, (2) Perancangan, (3) Pengembangan, (4) Implementasi, dan(5) Evaluasi. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui soal pilihan ganda untuk melihat hasilbelajar, lembar aktivitas digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat keaktifan siswa danangket disebarkan kepada siswa untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap mediapembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase penilaian kelayakanmedia cerpen secara keseluruhan diperoleh sebesar 89% yang tergolong dalamkategori sangat layak. Hasil penerapan media cerpen dalam pembelajaran diperolehskor aktivitas siswa dan penguasan pengetahuan siswa, masing-masing secaraberurutan adalah 90% dan 79%, sedangkan penguasaan pengetahuan kelas kontrolpersentase sebesar  62%. Tanggapan positif siswa sebesar 90% dan persentasetanggapan negatif sebesar 27%. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa media cerpenkimia pada materi zat aditif pada makanan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasilbelajar siswa.Kata kunci :  Cerpen, zat aditif, hasil belajar

Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan penelitian dengan judul “Pengembangan Media Video Animasi Berbasis Videoscribe Pada Materi Koloid untuk Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Fisika Tahun Akademik 2016/2017”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara mengembangkan media video animasi berbasis videoscribe sebagai media belajar, dan membandingkan tanggapan mahasiswa dengan media audio visual pada materi koloid. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research & Development) dengan model ADDIE (Analycis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika berjumlah 35 orang yang terbagi menjadi dua kelas dengan masing-masing kelas media videoscribe bejumlah 16 dan kelas media audio visual sebanyak 19 orang. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui angket kelayakan media yang divalidasi oleh tim ahli yaitu 2 orang dosen Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Unsyiah, dan angket tanggapan mahasiswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan media layak digunakan sebagai media belajar dengan persentase kelayakan sebesar 96,6% dengan kategori sangat baik. Tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap media videoscribe sebesar 87,7% dan media audio visual sebagai pembanding sebesar 81% dengan kategori kedua media sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat perbedaan tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap media video animasi berbasis videosrcibe dengan media audio visual sebagai pembanding serta pengembangan media video animasi berbasis videoscribe dikategorikan sangat baik.Kata kunci: Pengembangan, media, videoscribe, audio visual, koloid AbstractThe study about the development of animated video based on video scribe in learning of colloid has been conducted. Thesubject of this research werestudents of physics education of academic year 2016/2017. The objective this study was to understand how to develop animated video based on video scribe which can used as learning media, and to compare students’ responses to the audio-visual in be learning of colloid. The study was categorized as research and development with ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and evaluation). Initially, 35 students of physics education as sample of this study were divided into two classes which 16 students and 19 students. Data were obtained by using questionnaire of feasible of the media which was validated by two lectures of the department of chemistry education, and questionnaire was distributed to the students. The analysis of data showed that the media was feasible to use as learning media with a percentage of feasibility of 96.6%. Moreover, students’ positiveresponses to the media of video scribe were 87.7% and 81% to the media of audio-visual by category of very good. Therefore, it is indicated that there is the differences between students’ responses to the media of video scribe and media of audio-visual, and the development of animated video based video scribe was categorized as very good.Keyword: Development, Media, Videoscribe, Audio-visual, Colloid

Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan penelitian yang berjudul “Penerapan Pembelajaran Blended Learning Pada Materi Larutan Penyangga Di SMA Negeri I Unggul Darul Imarah”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ketuntasan belajar, aktivitas dan tanggapan peserta didik serta guru terhadap penerapan pembelajaran blended learning pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak empat kali pertemuan di SMA Negeri I Unggul Darul Imarah dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik XI IPA 2 yang berjumlah 21 orang, terdiri dari 13 perempuan dan 8 laki-laki. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil evaluasi akhir,  lembar observasi aktivitas, dan angket tanggapan peserta didik serta guru. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh persentase rata-rata aktivitas belajar peserta didik pertemuan I, II, dan III masing-masing sebesar 71,48%, 82,24%, dan 93,75. Persentase ketuntasan belajar diperoleh sebesar 80,95% dengan kategori sangat baik. Guru dan peserta didik memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penerapan pembelajaran blended learning dengan persentase masing-masing yaitu 89,58% dan 83,31%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar peserta didik telah tuntas secara klasikall dengan kategori sangat baik. Aktivitas juga meningkat selama penerapan pembelajaran blended learning, serta guru dan peserta didik memberikan tanggapan yang positif terhadap pembelajaran blended learning. Untuk peneliti lain yang akan melaksanakan pembelajaran blended learning diharapkan dapat menyusun jadwal lebih rinci untuk kegiatan di course e-learning. Kata kunci : Blended learning, ketuntasan belajar, larutan penyangga, e-learning AbstractThe research had been conducted entitled "Application of Blended Learning on Surface Buffing Material in SMA Negeri I Unggul Darul Imarah". The aim of this study is to describe learning completeness, activities and responses of students and teachers to the application of blended learning on buffer material. This research was conducted four times meeting in SMA Negeri I Unggul Darul Imarah, the subject of this research is 21 students of class XI IPA 2  consisting of 13 female and 8 male students.  This is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The Research data obtained from the final evaluation, activity observation sheet, and questionnaire responses of students and teachers. Based on the data analysis, the percentage of students learning activity’s average of the meetings I, II, and III was 71.48%, 82.24% and 93.75, respectively. Percentage of learning completeness was obtained by 80.95% with very good category. Teachers and students responded positively to the application of blended learning with percentage of 89.58% and 83.31%. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the students' learning completeness has been completed classicallly with very good category. Activities also increase during the application of blended learning, as well as teachers and students also give a positive response to blended learning. For other researchers who will conduct research in blended learning is expected to arrange a more detailed schedule for activities in the e-learning course. Keyword: Blended learning, learning completeness, buffer solution, e-learning
