Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was to (1) describe the level of reading comprehension skills of the text exposition of the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang (2) to describe the skill level of writing the exposition text of the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 34 Padang; and (3) to describe the correlational of reading comprehension skills of the exposition text skill of writing text exposition of student of class VIII of SMP Negeri 34 Padang. Theories used in this research are skill, reading comprehension of exposition text, writing skill of exposition, correlation skill reading comprehension text exposition to skill of writing text exposition of student class VIII SMP Negeri 34  Padang.This research type is quantitative research by using descriptive method. An escriptive method with correlation approach. The population in this study is the students of class VIII of  SMP  34 Padang registered in the academic year 2017/2018 which amounted to 268 students. The sample of this study amounted to 40 students. The sampling of this research was done by propotional random sampling technique. The data of this research is score of skill reading comprehension result in the form of objective test and score of skill writing skill in the form of performance test of class VIII student of  SMP Negeri 34 Padang. Based on the research result. Abstract

ABSTRACT                                                                                         The purpose of this study are describe (1) the ability of reading comprehension class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Padang, (2) the ability to write essays arguing class X students of  SMANegeri 6 Padang, and (3) the correlation between of reading comprehension skills and the ability to write an essay arguing class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Padang. The data in this study were collected by using an objective test and a performance test. The result of the study are (1) the ability of reading comprehension class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Padang are in more than enough qualification with the average value 71.04, (2) the ability to write essays arguing class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Padang are more than enough to qualify with the average value 75.81, (3) there was a significant correlation between of reading comprehension skills with the ability to write an argument essay class X SMA Negeri 6 Padang because based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted at 95% significance level and degrees of freedom n-1 with t count> t table, which is 7.37> 1.70.            Kata kunci: membaca pemahaman, menulis karangan argumentasi

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describe the environmental field vocabulary mastery of grade VIII SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman. Second, it describes the text of the news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman. Third, vocabulary mastery skills contribution to analyze the field of the environment against the text of the news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman. This type of research quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design korelasional. This research population is grade VIII SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman, i.e. 70 students. The sample in this research are determined using total sampling total sample that is equal to the number of population that is 70 students. Research data is vocabulary mastery test scores field environment and score news writing skills text.  Research instrument is the objective tests to measure mastery of the vocabulary of the field of environmental and performance tests for measuring writing skills text news. The results of the research there were three. First, mastery of the vocabulary of the field of the environment class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman are on good qualification. Secondly, the text of the news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman are on good qualification. Third, vocabulary mastery of the field of the environment account for 58.98% against the text of the news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman.               Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Penguasaan Kosakata Bidang Lingkungan Hidup, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Berita

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the contribution of listening skill of observation report texts to the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. The sample in this study amounted to 38 people. The data of this research is score of skill test result listening the observation report text. Based on data analysis and discussion, the following three things are obtained. First, the skill of writing the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman is in good qualification (80,15). Second, the skill of listening to the text of the result of observation of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman is in good qualification (82.20). Third, the listening skill of the observation report has 31,03% contribution to the writing skill of the observation report of VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman and the rest (68,97%) influenced by other factors not examined in this research. Kata kunci: kontibusi, menyimak, menulis, teks laporan hasil observasi

Abstract

The background of this research problem was lack of ability to write a persuasive essay in class VIII.D junior high school Number 2 Lengayang Pesisir Selatan District. Low interest of students in writing essays of persuasion due to the method used is the lecture method resulting in saturated and bored students on the material being taught, so that the necessary techniques that are able to improve essay writing skills of persuasion. This study aimed to describe the comparison of the ability to write persuasive essays before and after the use of media images in teaching writing persuasive essay in class VIII.D junior high school Number 2 Lengayang Pesisir Selatan District.            This research is quantitative research. The technique used in this study are pre with the research  design of pre - test and post -test. The population in this study is the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lengayang Pesisir selatan  district listed in 2012/2013 which consists of 7 classes. collect the sample is purposive sampling and the sample is grade VIII.D.the instrument use of the test about performance of writing a persuasive essay. techniques  to collect the data is done in two stages, before and after using the media image.            Based on the results of a study of the ability to write persuasive essays before and after the use of media images can conclude the following points. First , the ability to write persuasive essays before using media images eighth grade students of junior high school number 2 Lengayang Pesisir Selatan District are at nearly qualified enough ( HC ) with an average value of 52.86. Second, the ability to write persuasive essays after using media images eighth grade junior high student 2 Lengayang Pesisir selatan District are in good qualification ( B ) with an average value of 75.93. Third, there are significant differences from before and after the use of media to use images in teaching media writing persuasive essays of t-test results at the level of 0.05 t = 12.8 > t table = 1.70 thus H1 is accepted. Student learning outcomes in persuasion fabricated using media images more effectively.

Abstract

The research was motivated by five bases. First, students are not able to develop an ideas or looking for new ideas at writing plays. Second, in the writing, students could not use Bahasa Indonesia properly and correctly. Third, students also did not have good understanding of playwriting materials as they played in the class. Fourth, lecturing students to write a play make most students got saturated. Fifth, evaluation results show that only half of the students able to write a play. This study aimed to determine the ability of the students at writing plays using modeling techniques (modeling). The students are of the class VIII.1 of SMPN 4 Lengayang, South Coast District of West Sumatera.            The type of this research is quantitative. The technigue used this study are pre with the research design of pre-test and post-test. The population is 27 students of the class VIII.1 of SMPN 4 Lengayang using a random technique class or purposive sampling. Data collected through performance tests. Data were analyzed with particular steps. First, read and check out the plays written by the students. Second, scoring. Third, convert the scores to values.  Fourth, group the values in scale of 10. Fifth, group the values into a frequency distribution table. Sixth, determine the arithmetic mean of the students  skill at writing plays.Results of data analysis showed that the ability to write a play before using the modeling technique is average (C) 58.52 and the ability to write a play after using modeling techniques are classified as good (B) 72.7 so there are clear difference between before and after this research . Based on the t test known that t value is 4.52 while the t table is 1.71, proved that t > t table. The t-test research show that the ability to write a play with modeling techniques of the students of the class VIII.1 SMPN 4 Lengayang is better than the ability to write a play without using modeling techniques.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article was written to discuss the results of research on the skills to the text story moral/fable with writing skills the text story moral/fable the students class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Pariaman. The research was a score of the results of the skills to the text story moral/fable and a score of results of the writing skills the text of story moral/fable. The data obtained through two types of test, which isthe objective of a multiple choice as much as 40 bullets to measure the level of skills to the text story moral/fable and work performance for the skills writing the strory text moral/fable. This type of this study is quantitative. The method used is the method of descriptive with the design of merely correlational. The result of this research, there were three, that is (1) skills to te text story moral/fable the student class VIII in elementary school 5 Pariaman on qualifications (80,93), (2) the skill of writing the text story moral/fable the stuents class VIII in elementary school 5 Pariaman, located in the qualifying well (80,79), and (3) by the skills to the text story moral/fable to contribute with writing skills the text story moral/fable the students class VIII in elementary school 5 Pariaman as much as 54,61% in other words to te text story moral/fable it takes skill to text story moral/fable. Kata kunci : kontribusi, keterampilan menyimak, keterampilan menulis

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purposeof this research is(1) to describe the mastering of vocabularies about environment, (2) describe the skills writing the argument composition about environment, and (3) analyze the correlation mastering of vocabularies about environment with argument composition writing skill about environment class X SMA Negeri 1 Ulakan Tapakis. The data of this research is to mastering of vocabularies about environment test score results and scores of argument composition writing skills test results. The findings of this research is (1) the mastering of vocabularies about environment  on the qualified enough with an- average of 58.7 (2) the skills to argument composition writing about environment are more than enough qualified with an average of 73,33, and (3) based on the self-t, H1is accepted becauset count > t table is 4,49 > 1,70. Kata kunci: korelasi, penguasaan kosakata, argumentasi, lingkungan hidup, keterampilan

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to describe these following two things. First, to describe the generic structure of  fantasy story texts by seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. Second, to describe the language features  of fantasy story texts by seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The method that is used is descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 5 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The data of the research are fantasy story texts collected in many sources such as the documents of 30 text stories written by the students. The instrument of this research is the researcher himself. Data were analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing the data toward the theory. Based on the results of the study, there are two things that can be concluded. First, the  seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu regency, Riau province have used the third generic structure of fantasy story in writing. The generic structures of  of fantasy story text are orientation, complication and resolution. It is proven by 30 fantasy story texts that have been analyzed, there are 28 fantasy story texts that used generic structure correctly. Second, there are 16 types of figurative languages  were found in writing fantasy story  and 82% accuracies in using conjunctions by the seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 5 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. Kata kunci: Struktur Teks, Diksi Teks, Konjungsi Teks

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to explain the influence of discovery learning model assisted by song media to the skills of writing poetry text class X students SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh. This type of research is quantitative research with One Group Pretest and Posstest Design. Total population of 317 students. The sample in this study were students of grade X.3 SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh as many as 34 students determined by using purposive sampling technique. The data of this research is the result of the skill of writing poetry writing skill of class X student of SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh before and after using the discovery learning model with by song media. The results of the research are: First, the skill of writing poetry text of the students before using the model of discovery learning with the song  media obtained an average score of 50.61. Second, the skill of writing poetry text of the students after using the discovery learning model of media auxiliary obtained an average score of  75,74. Third, based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is received at a significant level of 95% and degrees of freedom (dk) = n - 1 tcount> ttable (8,97> 1.70). Kata kunci: discovery learning, media lagu, keterampilan menulis, teks puisi
