Abstract

Background: Around 3.9 million deaths worldwide in 2017 were caused by a lack of fruit and vegetable consumption. Consumption of fruits and vegetables in Indonesia is still less than recommended by World Health Organization. This study aimed to examine determinants of fruits and vegetables consumption among primary school children.Subjects and Method: This was an analytic observational study with a cross sectional design. The study was conducted at 25 elementary schools in Tegal, Central Java, from April to May 2019. A sample of 200 primary schools was selected by simple random sampling. The dependent variable was fruits and vegetables consumption. The independent variables were gender, knowledge, eco­no­mic status, fruits and vegetables availability, sources of information, food preference, food selec­tion, and parental role. The data were collected by food frequency questioner (FFQ) and question­naire. The data were analyzed by path analysis.  Results: Fruit consumption was directly influenced by male gender (b=-0.99; 95% CI= -1.86 to -0.12; p=0.025), knowledge (b= 0.92; 95% CI= 0.04 to 1.79; p=0.039), economic status (b=1.96; 95% CI= 1.09 to 2.83; p<0.001), fruits and vegetables availability (b= 0.92; 95% CI= 0.07 to 1.76; p= 0.034), source of information (b= 0.92; 95% CI= 0.01 to 1.82; p= 0.047), food selection (b= 1.77; 95% CI= 0.01 to 3.54; p= 0.049), and parental role (b= 1.19; 95% CI= 0.27 to 2.13; p=0.012). Vegetables consumption was directly influenced by male gender (b= -0.71; 95% CI= -1.37 to -0.05; p= 0.035), economic status (b= 0.81; 95% CI= 0.05 to 1.56; p=0.036), fruits and vegetables availability (b=0.98; 95% CI= 0.33 to 1.64; p=0.003), and parental role (b= 0.95; 95% CI= 0.19 to 1.69; p= 0.013). Fruit and vegetable consumption was indirectly influenced by gender, food preference, and economic status.Conclusion: Fruit consumption is directly influenced by male gender, knowledge, economic status, fruits and vegetables availability, source of information, food selection, and parental role. Vegetables consumption is directly influenced by male gender, economic status, fruits and vege­ta­bles availability, and parental role. Abstract

Background: WHO analysis estimates the number of children with disabilities reaching 7-10% of the total population of children. The limitations of retarded children are influenced by age, physical condition, nutritional status of the child, and parenting in the family have a relationship in the level of independence of the children. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence self-care in retarded children in Surakarta, Central Java.Subjects and Method: This study was a cross sectional study conducted in 15 special schools in Surakarta, Central Java, from June to July 2019. A sample of 200 mentally retarded children aged 9-17 years was selected by stratified random sampling. The dependent variable was self care. The independent variables were age, nutritional status, mental retardation classification, maternal age, maternal education, maternal occupation, maternal knowledge, parenting style, and teacher sup­port in school. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multilevel multiple logistic regression run on Stata 13.Results: Good self-care in mentally retarded children increased with aged ?15 years (b= 4.61; 95% CI= 2.53 to 6.69; p<0.001), mild retardation (b= 2.02; 95% CI= 0.13 to 3.91; p= 0.036), maternal education ?senior high school (b= 1.23; 95% CI= 0.22 to 2.25; p= 0.017), and good maternal parenting style (b= 1.42; 95% CI= 0.21 to 2.62; p= 0.021). Good self-care decreased with undernourished children (b= -2.16; 95% CI= -3.44 to -0.87; p= 0.001), low maternal knowledge (b= -1.56; 95% CI= -2.90 to -0.22; p= 0.023), and weak teacher support (b= -3.34; 95% CI= -5.41 to -1.26; p= 0.002).Conclusion: Good self-care in mentally retarded children increases with aged ?15 years, mild retardation, maternal education ?senior high school, and good maternal parenting style. Abstract

Background: Breastfeeding provides amazing benefits for the health of the child and the mother. WHO and UNICEF suggest a mother should be able to practice and maintain exclusive breast­feeding during the first six months of her baby's life. This study aimed to analyze contextal effect of integrated health post on exclusive breastfeeding.Subjects and Method: This was cross sectional study conducted in 25 integrated health posts (posyandu) in Karanganyar, Central Java, from August to September 2019. A sample of 200 nursing lactating mothers who had children aged 7 to 12 months was selected by stratified random sampling. The dependent variable was exclusive breastfeeding. The independent variables were maternal age, education, occupation, type of birth delivery, knowledge, attitude, family support, and so­cial capital. The data were collected by questionnaire. The data were analysis by multilevel mul­ti­ple logistic regression with Stata 13.Results: Exclusive breastfeeding increased with maternal age 20 to 34 years (b= 2.38; 95% CI= 0.62 to 4.15; p= 0.008), maternal education ?Senior high school (b= 1.64; 95% CI= 0.01 to 3.23; p= 0.049), good knowledge (b= 2.13; 95% CI= 0.41 to 3.86; p= 0.015), positive attitude (b= 1.67; 95% CI= 0.10 to 3.23; p= 0.036), strong family support (b= 1.58; 95% CI= 0.10 to 3.07; p= 0.036), and strong social capital (b= 1.64; 95% CI= 0.01 to 3.27; p= 0.049). Exclusive breast­fee­ding decreased with mother working outside the house (b= -3.54; 95% CI= -5.50 to -1.58; p<0.001) and sectio caesarea (b= -1.88; 95% CI= -3.58 to -3.58 to -0.19; p= 0.029). Integrated health post had strong contextual effect on exclusive breastfeeding with intra-class correlation (ICC)= 29.3%.Conclusion: Exclusive breastfeeding increases with maternal age 20 to 34 years, high maternal education, good knowledge, positive attitude, strong family support, and strong social capital. Exclusive breast­fee­ding decreases with mother working outside the house and sectio caesarea. Abstract

Skrining gizi menjadi tahapan awal penentuan risiko malnutrisi dan albumin sebagai salah satu parameter malnutrisi. Keduanya dapat mengidentifikasi status gizi dan menentukan intervensi gizi dalam mencegah komplikasi dan memperpendek masa lama rawat inap. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis hubungan risiko malnutrisi yang diukur menggunakan Malnutrition Screening Tool (MST) dan kadar albumin serum terhadap lama rawat inap pasien kanker ginekologi. Penelitian observasional dengan rancangan kohort prospektif dilakukan pada bulan Februari s.d April 2016. Sebanyak 64 pasien dilakukan skrining risiko malnutrisi menggunakan MST dengan wawancara. Kadar albumin serum dan lama rawat inap dilihat dari catatan medis pasien. MST mampu mendeteksi risiko malnutrisi pada 33 orang (51,6%) dan tidak berisiko manlutrisi pada 31 orang (48,4%). Meskipun secara statistik tidak signifikan subjek berisiko malnutrisi meningkatkan lama rawat inap 0,66 kali (95% CI=0,29-1,51) dan hipoalbumin 1,31 kali (95% CI=0,47-3,66). Tindakan pembedahan dan status bekerja menjadi faktor yang berperan pada lama rawat inap pasien kanker ginekologi.

Abstract

Background: A child will come into toddler phase which is the rapid growth and development phase. It turns children into one of the groups that vulnerable to suffer from undernutrition. The data of Riskesdas (Basic Health Research) in 2018 indicates that the percentage of malnutrition and undernutrition  in Indonesia is 17.7%, in which the number is still higher than the target of National Medium Term Development Plan 2019 which is 17%. The study aimed to analyzes factors that affect nutritional status of children aged 6 ? 59 months in Surabaya, East Java.Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study conducted at 25 integrated health posts (posyandu) in Surabaya, East Java, from August to September 2019. A sample of 200 children aged 6 ? 59 months was selected by stratified random sampling. The dependent variable was nutritional status (weight for age). The independent variables were history of exclusive breastfeeding, history of low birth weigth (LBW), maternal educational level, maternal knowledge, maternal occupation, family income, and environmental hygiene and sanitation. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multiple logistic regression run on Stata 13.Results: Poor nutritional status increased with the history of LBW (b= 5.29; 95% CI= 1.87 to 6.72; p= 0.003) and poor environmental hygiene and sanitation (b= 3.35; 95% CI= 0.77 to 5.94; p= 0.011). Poor nutritional status decreased with maternal educational status ?Senior high school (b= -2.81; 95% CI= -5.24 to -0.38; p= 0.023), high maternal knowledge (b= -2.68; 95% CI= -5.01 to -0.35; p= 0.024), and high family income (b= -3.37; 95% CI= -6.04 to -0.71; p= 0.013).Conclusion: Poor nutritional status increases with the history of LBW and poor environmental hygiene and sanitation. Abstract

Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi variasi lama menstruasi akan merubah ritme hormonal siklus hipotalamus-pituitari-ovarium, sehingga secara tidak langsung merubah kadar sekresi hormon reproduksi. Asupan gizi diperkirakan menjadi salah satu faktor dalam pengaturan hormon reproduksi ini, demikian juga siklus tidur dan bangun pada remaja. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan asupan gizi makro dan durasi tidur dengan lama menstruasi pada remaja usia 16-18 tahun. 120 remaja putri dari 6 SMA Kota Magelang-Jawa Tengah berpartisipasi dalam studi cross sectional ini, dipilih menggunakan tehnik cluster random sampling. Data variabel bebas dan terikat dikumpulkan melalui tehnik wawancara menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis dengan uji korelasi untuk menganalisis hubungan antar masing-masing variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat (p-value<0,05) dan regresi linear berganda untuk mengetahui besarnya hubungan seluruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat. Hasil uji korelasi Pearson, terdapat hubungan signifikan antara asupan energi (r=0.397:p=0.000), lemak (r=0.396:p=0.000), karbohidrat (r=0.337:p=0.000), dan durasi tidur (r=0.315:p=0.000) dengan lama menstruasi, sedangkan hasil uji korelasi Spearman Rank pada asupan protein tidak signifikan (r=0.018:p=0.841). Nilai R2 = 0.252. Penting untuk mengatur asupan gizi makro dan durasi tidur agar remaja memiliki lama menstruasi yang normal.

Abstract

 The aim of the study was to analyse the direct and indirect effects of knowledge, attitudes, and eating behavior on anthropometry status and anemia incidence in female adolescents. This observational study employed case-control design and involved a total with total of female adolescents 117, classified into case groups (n=39) and control groups (n=78). The data were collected using questionnaires on knowledge and attitude about nutrition of anemia and eating behaviors, 2x24 hour food recall, Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), anthropometry, and also Hb level measurement by Cyanmethemoglobin method. The data were analysed using path analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship (p&lt;0.05) and direct effects between eating behavior on anthropometry status and incidence of anemia, which accounted for 66% and 22% respectively. There was no relationship (p&gt;0.05) and indirect effects between attitude and incidence of anemia with value 4.1%. Eating behavior had a strong effect on anemia incidence through anthopometry in female adolescents.

Abstract

 Anemia is highly prevalent among Indonesian community, especially in pregnant women. Sleep duration and poor sleep patterns when someone is pregnant mayincrease therisk factors that affect the outcome of pregnancy. Protein requirements for pregnant women will increase as increasing gestational age. Lack of protein intake maycause low birth weight.The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlationof sleeping duration and protein intake in anemic pregnant women with the incidence of low birth weight babies.The study used a case control design. The subject of the study was anemic pregnant women in Sukoharjo who have been gaving birth from 2016 to 2018. Subjects wereselected using purposive sampling. Case was those who delivered normal baby?s weight and case was those who delivered low bird weight baby. 74 subjcts were in control group and 37 subjects were in case group.Sleeping duration was measured during sleep at night per hour and the quality of sleeping using PSQI from. Path analysiswasused to evaluate the association.The results showed that the association of sleeping duration of anemic pregnant women with incidence of LBW was not significant (p=0,285); protein intake withincidence of LBW was significant (p=0,019), and sleep quality anemic pregnant women with incidence of LBW was not significant (p=0,379). There is no significant direct and indirect associations (through sleep quality) of sleeping duration among anemic pregnant women withincidence of LBW, there is a significant associationof protein intake in anemic pregnant women with incidence of LBW, and there is no significant indirect association (through sleep quality) of protein intake in anemic pregnant women with incidence of LBW babies.

Abstract

Permasalahan  kesehatan  ini dapat terjadi pada siapapun  tanpa memandang status seseorang dalam  masyarakat seperti narapidana laki-laki atau perempuan. Berdasarkan penelitian prevalensi HIV dan Sifilis pada narapidana pria 1,1% dan 5,1% sedangkan pada narapidana perempuan lebih tinggi yaitu mencapai 6% dan 8,5%. Dari kasus tersebut maka lapas menyediakan pelayanan kesehatan dalam  penanggulangan HIV/ AIDS. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui Konteks dalam CIPP pada program skrining IMS dengan VCT bagi Narapidana di LP wanita Klas II A Kota Malang. Penelitian  ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan evaluasi. Informan  kunci dalam penelitian ini adalah petugas kesehatan poliklinik LP Wanita Klas II A yang  mengarahkan  kepada tim IMS mobile Puskesmas Arjuno Kota Malang dan  ­­narapidana ­­yang mengikuti skrining. Hasil penelitian didapatkan cakupan rata-rata dalam setiap bulannya 21 WBP yang mengikuti VCT, rata-rata tersebut belum semua WBP mengikuti tes HIV. Konteks dalam pelaksanaan program skrining IMS dengan VCT di LP Wanita Klas II A Kota Malang terdiri dari Perencanaan, masalah-masalah, tujuan dan  kebutuhan. Pada perencanaan terdapat MoU atau kerjasama secara tertulis dengan pihak terkait, koordinasi, konseling kepada para karyawan  lapas dan narapidana, serta tanda tangan. Sedangkan pada kebutuhan terdiri atas sarana prasarana, tenaga kesehatan dan pemeriksaan. Pada masalah terdiri dari HIV dan IMS, faktor risiko dan keputihan. Terakhir pada tujuan terdiri dari angka kematian, derajat kesehatan, layanan kesehatan dan pengobatan HIV/ IMS. Kata Kunci: CIPP, Skrining,  IMS, VCT, Lapas

Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding is provided to infants from birth to 6 months of age without supplementary or substitution food and drink. Breastmilk contains nutrients and protective factors that can reduce morbidity and mortality risks of children. This study aimed to determine the effect of maternal nutritional status, parity, employment status, family income, health personnel support, subjective norm, and stratification status of community health center (posyandu), on exclusive breastfeeding in Banjarsari Sub-District, Surakarta.Subjects and Method: This was an analytic observational study with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in Banjarsari sub-district, Surakarta, Central Java, from October 17 to November 7, 2017. Twenty five posyandus were selected by stratified random sampling. Of the posyandus selected, 200 lactating mothers were selected by simple random sampling. The dependent variable was exclusive breastfeeding. The independent variables were maternal nutritional status, parity, employment status, family income, subjective norm, and health personnel support. The data were collected using a set of questionnaire and analyzed by multilevel logistic regression in Stata 13.Results: The likelihood of exclusive breastfeeding increased with better maternal nutritional status (b= 1.65; 95% CI= 0.14 to 3.17; p= 0.032), multi parity (b= 1.72; 95% CI= 0.57 to 2.86; p= 0.003), working outside the house (b= -2.94; 95% CI= -3.99 to -1.88; p= 0.001), higher family income (b= -1.94; 95% CI= -3.13 to -0.76; p= 0.001), strong health personnel support (b= 1.13; 95% CI= 0.02 to 2.25; p= 0.046), and positive subjective norm (b= 1.20; 95% CI= 0.14 to 2.25; p= 0.025).
