Abstract

The research was aimed to evaluated edible portion meat and as an effort to improve the quality of lamb meat. (low content of saturated fatty acids and cholesterol), with brewery waste. The research used 16 four months old local rams with body weight 5-10 kgs. The feed composition used was Pennisetum purpureum grass, rice bran, beer solid waste, salt and minerals mix. The research used experimental method in vivo for 150 days using Completely Randomized Design with four treatments. Each treatment was with four repetition. Treatment rations were R1=12% brewery waste: 48 % grass; R2 = 24% brewery waste: 36% grass; R3= 36% brewery waste: 24% grass; R4= 48 % brewery waste: 12% grass. The variables measured were : edible portion of carcass (%) (carcass weight, edible meat proximal and edible meat distal); the fat content of meat, meat and liver cholesterol of lamb meat. The results showed that the treatment significantly affect (P<0.05) to the percentage of edible meat distal, but not significantly terhadapa levels of fat and cholesterol lamb. Conclusion of the research that the balance 48% brewery waste: 12% of elephant grass can be used as a mixture of lamb feed without disrupting the activity of the physiology and metabolism of lamb Keywords : solid waste of beer, edible portion meat, cholesterol

Abstract

Minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi adalah suatu sikap yang dimiliki seseorang yang membuat dia mempunyai perasaan senang, tertarik dan mendorong dirinya untuk melakukan suatu tindakan untuk meningkatkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Minat melanjutkan pendidikan dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, misalnya saja lingkungan keluarga, kondisi ekonomi orang tua, dan pendidikan orang tua, hal tersebut dapat mendasari pemikiran siswa dalam menentukan pilihannya untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi.Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh lingkungan keluarga terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi pada siswa kelas IX SMP PGRI 6 Malang Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013, (2) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh kondisi ekonomi orang tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi pada siswa kelas IX SMP PGRI 6 Malang Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013, (3) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan orang tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi pada siswa kelas IX SMP PGRI 6 Malang Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013, (4) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara lingkungan keluarga, kondisi ekonomi orang tua dan pendidikan orang tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi pada siswa kelas IX SMP PGRI 6 Malang Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMP PGRI 6 Malang berjumlah 75 siswa dari 3 kelas. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Ekplanatori menggunakan analisis deskriptif jumlah populasi yang akan di teliti adalah 75 atau kurang dari 100, maka peneliti mengambil semua subyek untuk diteliti. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah; Lingkungan keluarga, Kondisi ekonomi orang tua, Pendidikan orang tua sebagai variabel bebas serta Minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi sebagai variabel terikat. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik kuesioner (angket).??????????? Hasil pengujian dengan menggunakan program SPSS For Windows versi 16, dapat diketahui bahwa (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan lingkungan keluarga terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi, (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kondisi ekonomi orang tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi, (3) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pendidikan oran tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi, (4) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antar lingkungan keluarga, kondisi ekonomi orang tua dan pendidikan orang tua terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi pada siswa kelas IX SMP PGRI 6 Malang.

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos has a relatively sedentary nature and the very limited movement which will directly affected in the event of changes in water quality, therefore markozoobenthos often used as bio-indicators of water quality. This research was conducted form March to June 2015 in the Ciseuseupan sub watershed, Cisukabirus sub watershed and Cisuren sub watershed with the purpose of determining level of water quality and influence of land-use on the quality water by using macrozoobenthos community structure. Biological indices were used to analyze the macrozoobenthos are FBI and SIGNAL2. FBI values in the Ciseseupan sub watershed are 5,02 with criteria the quality of water moderate, in Cisukabirus sub watershed are 3,96 with criteria the quality of water very good and in Cisuren sub watershed 4,37 with criteria the quality of water good. Extensive use of forest land larger than the residential land use in Cisukabirus sub watershed were the major factor in the high quality in the sub watershed Kata kunci: land use, macrozoobenthos, water quality

Abstract

Dependence of the diversity of aquatic biota with water quality is typical of interaction and mutual influence. Various development activities in a watershed is now being polluted waters. Gold mining activities as open-pit mining activities have a high potential for pollution, especially water turbidity due to sediment erosion at the site of drilling / excavation of land and other open land. Problem of pollution control efforts, particularly in the area of Natarang Mining L.td should do well because in these areas flows Samuong River and its tributaries, which still has a high diversity of aquatic biota. The trend increase in water turbidity, especially seen in the rainy season in Semuong River and its tributaries which in the long term could reduce the density and diversity of aquatic biota, whether plankton, benthos and fish. Keyword: Natarang Mining L.td, aquatic biota , pollution, Semuong river

Abstract

Ciliwung river is a river with water quality classified in moderate poluted until heavy polluted due to the high pollution load and lack of open green space in river banks, except in some area including Bogor Botanical Garden (KRB). Bogor Botanical Garden (KRB) is one of the open green space that play a rule of buffer area for Ciliwung River in KRB segment. The results of this research by analyzing the water quality (physico-chemical factors and macrozoobenthos) on the inlet KRB, middle KRB and outlet KRB showed that Ciliwung river in KRB segment still meet water quality standard class II except COD. Macrozoobenthos community structure is dominated by the order Ephemeroptera and Trichoptera. Analysis of water quality using Water Quality Index, Pollution Index, Shannon-Wiener diversity index and Hilsenhoff Biotic Index shows there are increasing of the quality of water from the inlet KRB, middle KRB to the outlet KRB.Keywords: green open space, macrozoobenthos, purification

Abstract

Biotic component composition of silvofishery using cannal-pond pattern was elucidated in this study. This pattern is the combination between fishpond canal and mangrove vegetation growing in the center.  Sampling method was conducted in the four fish ponds with different variation of mangrove vegetation composition, such as Avicennia marina monoculture, Rhizophora mucronata monoculture, regularly mixed Rhizophora mucronata and Avicennia marina, and randomly mixed Rhizophora mucronata and Avicennia marina.  The research results showed that empang parit (fish pond) having a randomly mixed R. mucronata and A. marina give the most suitable habitat for the terrestrial fauna and aquatic biota as a feeding and breeding areas.

Abstract

There are 4 species of sea turtles in Alas Punvo National Park. The Nesting sites along south coast and east coast of this area had been disturbing by people and natural factor. The population of turtle especially in east coast Blambangan Peninsula of this national park have decrease due to the lack of management effort and this situation had been promoting turtle hunting activities of local people and fisherman at the sea illegal egg collection at the beach. To increase the population of turtle especially in east coast Blambangan Peninsula, it need the increase of control activities as management effort and build additional semi natural nesting sites in Trianggulasi and in east coast Blambangan Peninsula.Kata Kunci : Penyu, penyebaran, gmgguan, penetasan, Alas Purwo.

Abstract

The economic value of sea turtles, their eggs, meats and shells had caused intensive hunting in almost alI over the world. Current protection in Indonesia on sea turtles is still limited on leatherbackturtle (Dermochelys coriacea), olive ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) and loggerhead (Caretta caretta), three of the five species existing in Indonesia. Attempts to recover their populations had been carried out in Indonesg, comprising : nesting beaches protection, artiflcial incubation and rearing their juveds in the beaches before releasing them to the sea. The artificial incubation had been successful.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out the influence of the chronic hormone LHRH-a and 17α-MT on non-specific immune response of mangrove grouper, Epinephelus coioides broodstock. Female and male fish weight used in this experiment ranged 4.7-10.4 kg and 10.4-17.8 kg, respectively. The female fish were treated with hormone 17α-MT at a dosage of 50 µg/kg body weight, while the male fish treated with hormone LHRH-a at dosages of 50 and 100 µg/kg body weight. Fish were kept separately in two concrete tanks contained 100 m³ sea water, and 2 meters depth. The stocking density was 15 fishes/tank with male and female ratio 1 : 2. The blood samples were colected before treatment by hormone and every two months, subsequently. The non-specific immune response parameters evaluated were phagocytic activity (PA), phagocytic index (PI), and lysozyme activity (LA). Results indicated that chronic hormone could increase non-specific immune response especially phagocytic activity up to 17.3%.

Abstract

An  experiment  to  increase  of  immune  system  of  mangrove  grouper,  Epinephelus coioides seed with application of vitamin C and immunostimulant have been done. The experiment was carried out in completely randomized design with three treatments in twoplicates. The mangrove grouper seed (5 cm total length) were treated with 1000 mg vitamin C/kg diet (A), 1000 mg vitamin C + 1 ml bacterin/kg diet (B), and control (C). Vitamin C and bacterin were given every 10 day during 60 days rearing. After 30 and 60 days fishes were challenged with irridovirus. At the end of experiment, the non-specific immune responses were examined. The result showed that at challange test I, the highest survival rate was at treatment B (56.6%), followed by A (55.0%) and control (41.7%). On challenge test II, the higest survival rate was at treatment B (76.7%) followed by treatment A (68.4%) and control (48.3%).  The highest phagocytic activity (PA) was obtained at treatment B (21.0%), followed by treatment A (18.5%) and control (9.5%). The highest of lysozyme activity (LA) value was obtained on treatment B (2.0 cm), followed by treatment A (1.9 cm) and control (1.3 cm).  Combination of addition of ascorbic acid and immunostimulant gave higher survival rate compared to addition of immunostimulant only and control. Non-spesific immune response of mangrove grouper fry was significant different among treatment (P<0,05).
