Abstract

Anoa are fully protected under Indonesian Law since 1931 (Law of Protection of Wild Animals 1931, no134). Increasing law enforcement regarding hunting as well as promoting awareness of the Anoas uniquethreatened the existence of conservation measures. The modern concept of conservation based on thesustainability utilization, and therefore the knowledge of the Anoa preference in feeding to support thesustainability conservation should be studied. In the present study, the combination of direct observationmethods which was done in the Lore Lindu National Park in Toro village at District Kulawi, Central Sulawesiand the epidermal analysis method which was carried out to Anoa?s dung were aimed to identify the vegetationspreferred by Anoa in their habitat. The result showed 28 species of vegetations was used as feed by Anoaon in situ area. According to its percentage, the first ten were Freycinetia insignis Blume (17%), Microlepiatodayensis Christ (8.9%), Disoxylum sp (8.6%), Lasianthus clementis Merr (7.7%), Clusia sp (7.5%),Schleria sp (6%), Podocarpus imbricatus (5.4%), Smilax leucophylla (5.1%), Elastostema sp (4.2%),and Garcinia sp (3.8%), respectively. Furthermore, it can be concluded that Anoa was eat more leafs andshrubs/bushes (each 24%, respectively) compared to flowers (18%), fruits (12%), shoots (8%), grasses, tubers, young grooves (each 4%, respectively) and moss (2%). Nutritionally, Anoa consumed 8.8% proteinand 25.6% crude fiber.

Abstract

Manure enriched by rock phosphate (RP) and inoculated with biodecomposer very important to improve the upland fertility. Residual effects of applied manure can be used for the next growing season. The objective of the research was to investigate the residual effects of some kind of manure on sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata), dry matter (DM) and P production of stover on second growing season. A field experiment of completely randomized design with 7 treatments and four replicates. Level of P (RP), N (urea) and K (KCl) fertilizers was 66 kg P/ha, 200 kg N/ha, and 125 kg K/ha, respectively. All of manure application at 30 ton/ha and enriched with RP. The treatments at the first growing season were T0 (manure), T1 (manure +EM4), T2 (manure+starTmik), T3 (manure +stardec), T4 (manure granular+EM4), T5 (manure granular+starTmik), and T6 (manure granular+stardec). The sweet corn was harvested at 70 days, the stover was cut and measured for DM and P production. The result showed that effect of some kind of manure was not significantly different to sweet corn and DM production. Manure inoculated with biodecomposer resulted in signficantly higher of P production than without biodecomposer. Conclusion, all of manure resulted in similar on sweet corn and DM, except manure inoculated with biodecomposer resulted in higher of P production than without biodecomposer.

Abstract

This research aimed to reviewing level of bean sprout fermented used in duck diet against crude fiber digestibility, crude protein digestibility and metabolic energy of diet. The research was proccessed using Complete Random Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The parameters observed were crude fiber digestibility, crude protein digestibility and metabolic energy. The research material used was 48 male ducks with starter phase, treatment diet, flock cage, battery cage, feed tray, water tube, HCl, plasctic tray, scales, hygrometer, a set of proximate and gross energy analysis equipment.  The research method consits two stages, the first stage was fermented of bean sprouts using 6% of Trichoderma harzianum for six days. The second phase was in vivo method with addition of bean sprout fermented in diet respectively T0 0%, T1 5%, T2 10% and T3 15%. The result data was tested by F test based on analysis of varians and if there was significant effect of treatment (P<0.05) followed by the test of least significance defferent (LSD). The result of effect of diet containing bean sprouts fermented were no affected (P>0.05) the crude fiber digestibility, crude protein digestibility and metabolic energy for starter phase of local ducks. Keywords : Bean Sprouts, Digestibility, Duck, Fermentation, Tricodherma harzianum.
