Abstract

The research purposed to study the effectively of legin and potassium fertilizer under different NaCl stress on growth of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill). An experimental research 2 X 3 X 4 was held with split-split plot design. The first factor was legin as main factor consisted of without legin (L0) and with legin (L1), the second factor was NaCl concentration as sub factor consisted of 0 mM (S0), 30 mM (S1), 60 mM (S2) and the third factor was ZK potassium fertilizer dosages as sub–sub factors consisted of 0 kg/ha (K0), 25 kg/ha (K1), 50 kg/ha (K2), 100 kg/ha (K3). Thus the number of combinations was 24, then 3 replicates was carried out for every combination. The variables are height of plant, chlorophyll content, total area of leaves, fresh weight of shoot, dry weight of shoot, shoot-root ratio, length of root, and N content of plant. The obtained data were analyzed using analysis of variance procedure at 5% level, if showed significant continued by 5 % of Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) and regression analysis. The result showed that NaCl concentration decreased total area of leaves. The highest mean was 573.95 cm2 at NaCl concentration 0 mM and the lowest mean was 421.34 cm2 at NaCl concentration 60 mM. Legin decreased the shoot-root ratio at 2 WAP (Week after Planting); the means are 18.41 at without legin and 10.04 at with legin. ZK potassium fertilizer increased total area of leaves and dry weight of shoot. ZK potassium fertilizer that increased the total area of leaves is 25 kg/ha, while at dry weight of shoot is 50 kg/ha. Interaction between legin and ZK potassium fertilizer held at total area of leaves and N content of plant. Interaction between NaCl concentration and ZK potassium fertilizer held at height of plant, total area of leaves, and shoot-root ratio. Interaction between three factors held at height of plant, total area of leaves and N content of plant. The highest dry weight of shoot 3.35 g at with legin, NaCl concentration 60 mM, ZK potassium fertilizer 50 kg/ha and the lowest 1.41 g at without legin, NaCl concentration 30 mM, ZK potassium fertilizer 0 kg/ha. Abstract

Creat were medicine plant which have great potential as raw materials of traditional medicine. Raw materials of Creat usually taken from native environment. The supply of creat’s raw materials which taken from original habitat give discontinued outcomes and cause its extinction. The appropriately agronomic production technique was expected to give better quality of medicinal plant’s raw materials. This research aimed to study kind and dose of manure for growth and outcomes of Creat. The research was conducted on October 2007 until January 2008 at Donoyudan Village, Kalijambe, Sragen. This research was arranged factorial in Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Which consist of two treatment factors and three replications. The first factor was the kind of manure, there were cow, goat and chicken manure. Second factor was dose of manure, consist of 25 g/plant, 50 g/plant and 75 g/plant. The research variables were the plant height, number of leaves, number of primary branch, fresh and dry weight of roots and shoots, and chlorophyll content. The research data were analyzed by F test in 5% level and continue by DMRT in 5% level, if the treatment were significant. The result of research showed that there was an interaction between kind and dose of manure, which were the number of primary branch, fresh weight of root, dry weight of shoot and root dry weight. Kind of manure showed that 75 g/plant of chicken able to increase the chlorophyll content, root fresh weight shoot dry weight and root dry weight. Abstract

Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) is one of superior kind of plant which has many benefits as medicinal plants. Cultivation of temulawak not yet intensively and grown on the land under the trees. Therefore, this research was important to get shade and water stress levels appropriate for cultivation of temulawak and higher producing secondary metabolities. This research used a nested design with two treatment, that is shade (without shade, 25%, 50%, 75%) and water stress (without water stress, 75%, 50%, 25% field capacity) with five replicants. Result were analyzed using analysis of variance and if there significant diference followed by DMRT 5% level. The result showed without shade treatment increase growth of temulawak include number of leaves, fresh weight of plant and dry weight of plants, and shade 50% increase plants height. The treatment of without water stress increase growth and yield of temulawak include number of tillers, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight of plants, fresh weight and dry weight of rhizomes. The levels of curcumin increase on shade 25% and water stress 25%.

Abstract

Tanaman jahe sebagai salah satu komoditi ekspor non migas produksinya masih relatif rendah sehingga perlu usaha-usaha peningkatannya. Ditinjau dari berbagai aspek baik kondisi alam maupun sumber daya manusia memungkinkan keberhasilan peningkatan hasil tanaman jahe.Untuk meningkatan hasil jahe selain dengan berbagai penelitian yang bersifat agronomis, perlu diupayakan memasyarakatkan budidaya jahe langsung kepadaa masyarakat, yang salah satu cara pendekatannya melalui metode riset aksi (action research).

Abstract

Potential development of medicinal plants in Karanganyar is very large, because this area is famous as a center of medicinal plants such as ginger, turmeric, kencur, and temulawak. In the development of medicinal plants, the approach of organic cultivation is one of the alternatives that can be done to achieve the business. Therefore the application of technology to society about organic farming on Biopharmaca Cluster of Karanganyar was conducted with the aim to apply organic cultivation techniques that have resulted from previous studies, so it can be applied by the community to increase income and welfare. This application of technology to society activity is held in Sambirejo, Jumantono, Karanganyar. The research was conducted from March to October 2016. The results showed that the application of chicken manure affects the number of leaves, number of tillers, and the fresh weight of turmeric rhizome. The addition of manure (chicken, goat, cow) can increase all variables of planting growth which include plant height, number of leaf, number of tillers, fresh weight of plant, dry weight of plant, and fresh weight of rhizomes. Giving three types of manure (chicken, goat, cow) with mycorrhizal dose treatment there is no intraction to some growth observation variables. Mycorrhizal treatment with a dose of 10 g/plant can increase the number of tillers in turmeric. Overall the application of mycorrhizal at various doses (5, 10, and 15 g/plant) can increase plant height, leaf number, number of tillers, and fresh weight of turmeric rhizome.

Abstract

Zinc is an essential micro-nutrients for humans and plants. Zinc on humans is obtained from food, especially rice. This research studied the effect of zinc sulfate heptahydrate spraying application, the effect of zinc sulphate heptahydrate enriched urea application, and the interaction of both, on yield and rice zinc grain concentration in Ciherang varieties. The research was carried out by RCBD. The first factor was without spraying zinc sulfate, spraying 75 g ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate and spraying 150 g ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate. The second factor was without zinc sulfate enriched urea, urea enriched by 7.5 kg ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate, and urea enriched by 15 kg ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate. The parameters observed were grain yield, grain zinc concentration, and rice plant growth. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance at 5% and DMRT test at 5%. The results indicated that spraying 75 g ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate increased yield of rice up to 13%, urea enriched by 7.5 kg ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate increased grain yield zinc concentration up to 33%, Combination of spraying  75 g ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate and urea enriched by 7.5 kg ha-1 zinc sulfate heptahydrate can?t increased the yield and zinc grain concentration.Keywords: rice, urea, zinc, zinc sulfate heptahydrate

Abstract

Java turmeric is a medicinal plant which in top ranks in its uses. Many people choose herbal treatments for their health. This study aims to investigate the response of the multiplication of java turmeric against granting PGR NAA and young coconut water in vitro. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biotechnology and Tissue Culture, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. The research was arranged in a Fully Randomized Design with 16 treatments and 3 replications. The results showed that giving kombination treatment of 0,5 ppm NAA and 60% young coconut water was able to increase root amount with by an average of 20,33. NAA 1,5 ppm can increase buds amount at 2 buds. Giving 20% young coconut water treatment were also capable of increase average length buds, root length in sequence 7,37 cm and 7,37 cm.

Abstract

Kaempferia rotunda that long ago been used to treat gastrointestinal disorders and also treat cancer, has promising opportunities to cultivate. There are several obstacles in cultivation today. Plant propagation by in vitro can be one solution. Basic media and plant growth promoting substance usage is an important factor which has to be concerned. Research aiming to produce high quality seed and in large numbers. Research has been carried out in Tissue Culture Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, during July 2014 to August 2015. This research was used MS (Murashige and Skoog) media with combination treatment of each IBA and BAP concentration of 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 ppm. The number of shoots that appear on the explant is the main observation variables. The results showed IBA and BAP are likely to affect the appearance of buds as much as 2 pieces in each explant at 0 ppm IBA treatment.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: (1) identify the potentials of fish resources in  Klaten regency which can be developed as the economic generator of the community; (2) analyze the provision of fish products to support food security and safety for the surroundng region; (3) analyze the process of managing fish to perform food safety and security; 4) analyze the supporting factors of  fish resources management in Klaten to develop the community economy; 5) analyze the constraints of managing fish resources in Klaten to develop the community economy; 6) analyze the policy and programs of the local Government of Klaten in developing the potenstials of fish resources; particularly fish cultivation; and (7) formulize an appropriate method to manage fish resources to improve the community economy and support food security and safety. This research applied descriptive approach and was qualitative in nature. Data were collected using several methods including site observation, in-depth interview, focus group discussion, document study, and super impose. Sampling technique used in this research were purposive sampling and snowball. Data were analyzed using (1) Human Resources Analysis (2) Policy Analysis (3) Interactive Analysis. Research results include: (1) method to manage fish resources to improve the community economy and support the food security and safety; 2) recommendation in the form of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to the method to manage fish resources to improve the community economy and support the food security and safety; and 3) handouts concerning method to manage fish resources to improve the community economy and support the food security and safety.

Abstract

Turmeric is a medicinal plant that has largest secondary metabolites (curcumin). Improving secondary metabolites with abiotic stress that the provision of shade and water stress. This research aims to study the effects of shade and water stress on growth and yield of turmeric and content of secondary metabolites. The study uses a nested design with two factors, namely shade (without shade, 25%, 50%, 75%) and water stress (without stress, 25% field capacity, 50% field capacity, 25% field capacity). Analysis using the F test and DMRT 5% level. The results showed that shade did not effect to fresh and dry weight of plant. 75% shade decrease root lenght, fresh and dry weight of rhizome. Water stress did not effect to growth and yield of turmeric. The highest curcumin results in conditions without shade and without stress.
