Abstract

In order to spur the automotive and electronic industries to meet domestic needs and compete in the era of globalization, the development of manufacturing industries is not only based on large-scale industries, but also needs to be developed into Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The obstacles faced today are limited capital, human resources (HR), product development and marketing procedures. PT BesQ Sarana Abadi is a small and medium business (UKM) engaged in the business of making rubber parts. In order to improve competitiveness, PT BesQ Sarana Abadi is researched with the formulation of the right competitiveness strategy. The objectives of the study are: (1) to identify factors that influence the competitive advantage of rubber and automotive parts products; (2) analyzing internal and external factors that affect the competitiveness of rubber and automotive parts industry products using the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) methods; (3) develop competitiveness strategies for the automotive and electronic spare parts products industry using Internal-External (IE) methods and Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) and Balance Score Cards (BSC); (4) formulating priority strategies to improve the competitiveness of rubber and automotive parts industry products using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) method. From the analysis results, there are many weaknesses in the company. In this case a high opportunity value causes the company to operate, because in the IFE matrix the value of strength is greater than the value of weakness. In the EFE matrix, the opportunity value is greater than the threat. With the SWOT and BSC methods identified strategies needed, set the priority of the strategy by using the QSPM method.

Abstract

Internal Control System (ICS) is a consolidated management concerning the effort to certify organic products.  Due to its collective mechanism, farmers are able to manage its agribusiness more profitably financially.  The purpose of this study was (1) to analyze the differences in income levels of farmer groups who are certified organic and non-certified organic, (2) to get an overview of the implementation of ICS in farmers group Gapoktan Simpatik, and (3) to analyze the perceptions of group members towards the implementation of ICS either certified or non-certified organic.  This research was on a case study at upper stream of Cideres and Cigunungjaga watershed in the district of Sukahening, Tasikmalaya, which is a member of Gapoktan Simpatik.  The analysis was performed using the R/C ratio, homogeneity analysis of data by income level using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, analysis of income differences between the two groups of independent farmers using the Mann-Whitney test, and biplot analysis for the analysis of perceptions of group members toward ICS implementation variables.  The results showed that the R/C ratio for the certified group was 1.77, and for non-certified group 1.53. The average income level of certified group was Rp19,394,800/ha/year, while the non-certified  Rp12,728,940/ ha/year.  The results also showed that perception toward ICS implementation of certified group  was better than the non-certified.  Most of the certified group respondent approached the vector of all variables, which means that they were satisfied and familiar with all the variables, while the group of respondents who were non-certified did not approach the vector.  The parameters that were widely varied by respondent group responses were the certified variable of purchase, handling, processing, and export, while the most uniform response variables of the respondents were variable of organizational and ICS personnel.  While the groups that were not certified provided a variety of assessment on the variables of risk management and uniform assessment on external inspection and certification.

Abstract

Penelitian yang berhubungan dengan upaya perbaikan kinerja pabrik gula (sebagai proses yang digunakan secara sistematis untuk memperbaiki kinerja secara berkesinambungan) belum pernah dilakukan. Terkait dengan pengukuran kinerja pabrik gula, pada penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan adanya keterbatasan karena hanya dilakukan dengan menggunakan range ukuran kinerja yang terbatas dan tidak memperhatikan keterkaitannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pengukuran kinerja pabrik gula (sebagai sub model dari model perbaikan kinerja)  yang digunakan untuk mengukur kinerja pabrik gula (skala kecil, menengah dan besar) dengan meningkatkan range ukuran kinerja (efisiensi dan produktivitas) dan memperhatikan keterkaitannya. Tahapan yang dilakukan  yaitu 1) identifikasi terhadap ukuran kinerja, 2) merancang proses pengukuran, dan 3) menentukan infrastruktur teknis. Terdapat 10 ukuran kinerja yang digunakan. Cara pengukurannya menggunakan pendekatan Fuzzy Expert System. Infrastruktur teknis yang digunakan yaitu MATLAB (versi 7.01).Verifikasi dan validasi  model dilakukan dengan uji coba model pada 11 pabrik gula menggunakan data kinerja tahun 2008. Hasil pengukuran kinerja menunjukkan bahwa 1) rerata kinerja strategis untuk skala pabrik menengah dan kecil adalah rendah sedangkan untuk skala besar adalah tinggi; 2) rerata kinerja operasional pada semua skala pabrik gula adalah rendah; 3) rerata kinerja taktis pada skala menengah dan kecil adalah sedang, dan untuk skala besar adalah tinggi. Kata kunci : Fuzzy Expert System, pabrik gula, pengukuran kinerja, ukuran kinerja      Research related to improvement of the performance of the sugar factory (as the process used systematically to improve performance on an ongoing basis) has not been done. Related to performance measurement of sugar mills, in previous studies showed limitations because it only be done using a limited range of performance measures and do not pay attention to their relation. This research aims to produce a sugar factory performance measurement model (as a sub model of performance improvement model) that is used to measure the performance of the sugar factory (small scale, medium and large) to increase the range of performance measures (efficiency and productivity) and pay attention to their relation. Steps being taken: 1) identification of performance measures, 2) designing the process of measurement, and 3) determine the technical infrastructure. There are 10 performance measures used. How measurement using Fuzzy Expert System approach. Technical infrastructure used in the MATLAB (version 7:01). Verification and validation of the model is done by testing the model in 11 sugar mills using performance data in 2008. Performance measurement results show that 1) the mean of strategic performance for medium-and small-scale plant is low while for a large scale is high, 2) average operational performance at all scales of sugar factories is low, 3) average tactical performance in medium and small scale are being , and for a large scale is high. Abstract

Milkfish is a fish belonging to the Chanidae tribe which is spread throughout most parts of Indonesia. The method used in determining respondents is purposive sampling method. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, there are four strategies were obtained in increasing the competitiveness of processed milkfish include; (a) developing a sustainable milkfish agribusiness system and business, (b) building a business system that is competitive, synergistic, mutually beneficial and technology focused on efficiency, (c) institutional, partnership and integrated development of integrated processed fish SMEs, and (d) government involvement in policies in the form of regulations which favor the improvement of milkfish processed SME s in Serang City.The result QSPM analysis found that the alternative strategy which becomes the main priority to increased competitiveness of processed milkfish in Serang City is building a competitive business system, synergy, mutual benefit and technology focus for eficiency

Abstract

Andesite stone mining activities in Bogor area is now growing, one of the andesite stone processing business is PT Duta Keluarga Imfaco located in Bogor Regency, West Java. The economically valuable andesit stone is expected to be the mainstay of the income of the surrounding community, characterized by the increasing market demand and the growing interest of the community towards andesite stone. The purpose of this study are (1) to identify internal and external factors of PT Imfaco Family Ambassador; (2) Developing appropriate market development strategies; and (3) Develop alternative strategies of andesite stone marketing development. The study used descriptive and analytic methods that are case studies. Determination of respondents with purposive sampling method, with consideration that mastered the problems to be asked. Data analysis with IFE and EFE matrix to identify internal and external factor of company, then mapping with IE matrix, to see company position. Preparation of strategy with SWOT matrix, yield several alternative strategies that can be implemented. The final stage with the QSP matrix, to determine the priority of the most appropriate strategy to be implemented. Based on the results of IFE and EFE matrix analysis, indicates the company is in a stable position in responding to external situations. The result of analysis with IE matrix, company is in quadrant V, that is growth and stability, where strategy that can be done is market penetration and business development. Results of analysis with SWOT matrix obtained alternative strategies that can be implemented and with the QSP matrix obtained the most appropriate strategy to be implemented in order to develop the company's marketing strategy is to expand the marketing network.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to identify and analyze the business model in Supermarket XYZ,  then give recommendation of priority strategy as perfection of Supermarket XYZ business model to more systematic, specific, unique and relevant to current business condition.   This research uses descriptive analysis method. The analytical tool used is business model canvass (BMC), the external factor evaluation matrix (EFE), internal factor evaluation matrix (IFE), external internal matrix (IE), and the combination between  strength, weakness, opportunity, threat (SWOT), and analytical hierarchy process (AHP )  called  AWOT.  The  result was obtained based on the result of AWOT analysis,  the priority strategy of the channel element with the highest score is SO strategy, to develop a food court to provide a customer shopping experience. Priority strategy of the customer relationship element is ST strategy, cooperation with the third parties for the development of joint promotion programs.  Finally, priority strategy of the key activities element is WO strategy,  training and development program.  The Selected BMC element and the specified strategy can be the basis for the development of the Supermarket XYZ business model in the future.

Abstract

Business institution is one of the important components to develop an agroindustry.  The aim of this  research was to find the appropriate institutional model for sesame agroindustry based on financial feasibility analysis comprises Net Present Value  (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Pay Back Period (PBP) and Net B/C Ratio. The method to develop strategy was Analytical Hirarchy Process (AHP) approach, while to choose an institution was exponential comparison method (MPE).  The results of analysis showed that the main factor in developing strategy of sesame agroindustry based on evaluation value were market demand (0.209), and material quality and availability (0.198).  The main actors were bussinessman (0.129) and the local goverment (0.123). The main objective for sesame agroindustrial development was increasing farmer income (0.216). The results of analysis based on aggregate weighting showed that the appropriate development institutions were integrated agroindustrial cooperative pattern (117,106,036) and self-sufficient bussiness pattern (107,560,765).  Based on financial analysis, it was known that  opportunity level (discount rate) was 20%, NPV was Rp 292,796,108.90, Net B/C was 1.27, IRR 22.04% and PBP was 1.34%. In conclusion, the development of the sesame-based agroindustry with cooperative institutional pattern was feasible. Abstract

The partnership program is a part of the activity  in the Partnership and Community  Development  Program  (PCDP)  as  a  form  of  responsibility  by revolving  funds  and  part  of  its  profits.  Up  to  now,  revolving  fund  of  the partnerships program has reached IDR 18.17 trillion and is growing every year, is need of good management and accurate performance measurement. Until now, the partnership program performance was measured by indicators of the effectiveness of distribution and level of collectibility loan repayment. There Indicators are still not able to describe the overall performance of the partnerships program,  which  may  cause  the  dysfunction  of  organization. Development  was  started  by identifying stakeholders? expectations, then analyzing the methods of ranking, classification,   Logical   Framework Analysis (LFA), suitability analysis, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Focus Group Discussion  (FGD),  and Objective Matrix (OMAX). The analysis resulted in eight new indicators, which conducted the survey for the community stakeholders and small businesses with a sample of 30 respondents for each group of stakeholders, while for stakeholders? employees, management, and state ministries was done census.  Respondents  selected  purposively.  The survey results show that the value of PCDP PT Sucofindo performance is 639.9, including a good performance status.

Abstract

PT Ayena Mandiri Sinema (PT AMS) is one of the tenants (SMEs) fostered by the Incubator Center of Technology (BIT) BPPT, engaged in animation and multimedia. The main problem is when  marketing Intellectual Property (IP) product animation, such as animated film called Super Neli. Animation film. Generally in Indonesia, marketing product animation of IP dominated by large companies both foreign and domestic, and there are also marketing partners which are quite influential. This make PT AMS be unable to compete with large companies, therefore, it is required a marketing strategy that consider mix marketing aspect and consumer preferences. In this study, identification consumer preference Business to Customer using Kano model is done, the result is dominated by one dimensional attributes while consumer Business to Business obtained attribute must be and one-dimensional dominant. So it becomes an opportunity to maintain and improve product quality to compete in the marketing mix. While the IFE and EFE matrix values of the environmental factors are 2.864 and 2.424, indicating that PT AMS in a position of growth/stability. The result of SWOT analysis that considered mix marketing aspect (product, price, promotion and place) are strategies, then evaluated by QSPM resulting priority strategy which is expanding the marketing network products animation with promotion and market penetration through cooperation with the agency.

Abstract

Sugar is one of the potential plantation commodities from the agricultural sector in Indonesia. The huge population of Indonesia is causing high sugar consumption quantity every year. This condition is not supported by the national sugar high productivity, resulting in import of refined sugar. The purpose of this study is to measure the sugar industries? sustainability indexes to increase the improvement strategies priority. This study uses a Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) method with eight dimensions that consist of thirty-four attributes. The analysis is performed for two years, from 2012-2014 in the sugar industry as a case study in this study. Successive performance is considered in ?good? condition, however the material dimension should be the priority concern in future improvement.
