Abstract

Human Development Index (HDI) is a way to measure the success of human development based on a number of basic components quality of life. HDI is formed by three basic variables namely health, education and decent living standards. This study aims to identify factors that influence the Human Development Index in Central Java Province and get a model Human Development Index in Central Java province in 2008-2013. The data used in this study is a combination of cross section data and time series data are commonly called panel data, then this HDI modeling using panel data regression. There are three estimation of panel data regression model namely Common Effect Model (CEM), Fixed Effect Model (FEM) and Random Effect Model (REM).  Estimation of panel data regression model used is the Fixed Effects Model (FEM). FEM estimation results show the number of health facilities, school participation rate and Labor Force Participation Rate significantly affect the HDI by generating  for 93.58%.Keywords : Fixed Effect Model, panel data regression, HDI in Central Java Province

Abstract

This research is motivated the low achievement motivation of employees in the implementation of tasks in Office Education of West Sumatra Province. This study aims to obtain information about employee achievement motivation in the implementation of tasks in the West Sumatra Provincial Office viewed from aspects of responsibility, acceptance of feedback, creativity and innovation. This type of research is descriptive with the population being employees of the Education Office of West Sumatra Province, amounting to 191 people . The sampling technique was Proportional Random Sampling so that the respondents were 68 people. The research instrument is a questionnaire (questionnaire) with a Likert Scale model with five alternative answers, namely always (SL), often (SR), sometimes (KD), rare (JR), and never (TP), which has been tested for validity and reliability. Questionnaire declared invalid by rho rho Countof rho table validity test using SPSS 16.0 to test the validity perbutir and declared all valid items with a 95% confidence level and reliability of otherwise reliable with rho Countof rho table is 0.971> 0.444. The data were processed using the formula average(mean).The results showed that achievement motivation seen from the aspect of responsibility was in the high category with an average score of 3.67. For the aspect of receiving feedback, the category is quite high with an average score of 3.55. For the aspect of creativity in the high enough category with an average score of 3.56, then the innovative aspect is in the high category with an average score of 3.67. In general, achievement motivation in carrying out tasks in the West Sumatra Provincial Education Office is in the high category with an average score of 3.67. Based on this, the authors suggest that the provision of achievement motivation be increased again so that it can increase employee motivation in work.

Abstract

Di Desa Air Putih Kecamatan Bengkalis Riau, khsususnya di wilayah Pelabuhan Ro-Ro Penyeberangan dari Pulau Bengkalis ke Sungai Pakning (daratan sumatera) memiliki permasalahan pendangkalan di area dermaga nya. Hal ini tentu menjadi masalah bagi pemerintah dan akan merugikan masyarakat dalam keberlangsungan dan kelancaran arus pergerakan penyeberaengan yang menghubungkan pulau Bengkalis dan daratan sumatera. Untuk itu penulis ingin mengwetahui jenis tanah di wilayah pantai Ro-Ro penyeberangan agar dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan mengeani material yang diangkut dan menjadi sedimen di wilayah dermaga tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi dan survey di lapangan dan melakukan serangakian penggujian di Laboratorium Jurusan Teknik Sipil Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis. Pengujian yang dilakukan antara lain adalah kadar air tanah, berat jenis tanah, analisa saringan dan hydrometer, indeks plasitisitas tanah. Sampel tanah yang diambil adalah tanah di wilayah pantai yang mengalami permsalahan pendangakalan dari surut terendah hingga pada posisi pasang tertinggi masing-masing diambil mengguakan hand boring. Berdasarkan hasil analisa uji distribusi ukuran butiran tanah > 90 % lolos saringan No. 200, nilai Bj berkisar 2,58 ? 2,65, nilai PL < 30, dan nilai IP diatas 11. Seperti yang disebutkan pada klasifikasi AASHTOO bahwasanya tanah ini tergolong ked lam A-7-6 yakni tanah berlempung.

Abstract

This research held in PT. Delta Internusa Pekanbaru in order to analyze the influence of job satisfaction and job characteristics to employees’ commitment. Population are all employees, consist of 53 people among all division. Considering the number limitation so sampling method used is census that covers all employee as the respondents. Data analyzed by using multiple linier regression analysis by using SPSS 17 for windows.Result of this study shows that both job satisfaction and job characteristics significantly influence, either in simultenously or partially, to employees’ commitment. Among both independent variables, employee’s commitment is more dominant effected by job satisfaction rather than job characteristics. It is recommended to company determine a transparant indicator of career development, creating a comfort work-space and conducting a consistant employee development program. It is also recommended to hold temporary job rotation among all employees on to other division.Keywords: Job Satisfaction, Job Characteristic and Employee’s Commitment

Abstract

Permasalahan yang sering terjadi pada panjat dinding sering terjadi keretakan pada point panjat dinding dikarenakan pada saat seorang melakukan olahraga panjat dinding. Point panjat dinding itu sendiri mendapat beban yang kuat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini point panjat dinding dengan melakukan pengujian tarik dan impact pada komposit dengan kandungan serat eceng gondok dan resin, komposit pasir silika dan resin. Tujuan penelitian  ini adalah untuk mengetui perbandingan antara spesimen pasir silika dan spesimen serat eceng gondok dengan kadar 30%, 50%, 70%. Hasil pengujian impact ini menunjukkan bahwa perbandingan antara serat eceng gondok  dan pasir silika didapatkan  nilai tertinggi pada variasi 70% pasir silika dan 30% resin  polyester  yaitu 0,0288025 N.m/mm2 dan yang tertinggi pada eceng  gondok terdapat pada variasi 50% serat eceng gondok dan 50% resin polyester yaitu 0,0020535 N.m/mm2.Setelah mendapat nilai tertinggi dari pengujian impact, lalu dilakukan pengujian tarik sehingga didapatkan nilai tertinggi pada pengujian tarik terdapat pada komposit eceng gondok 50% dengan nilai 1,758 kg/mm2.

Abstract

Quality Controlling (QC) has close relationship with technique and fabrication operational activities that aimed to monitor process and mitigate undesired result on quality series level that relevant to achieve economically outcome. QC was purposed to gain high quality product and homogenous that acceptable by the consumer and competitive with similar producer both at domestic and foreign level. Six sigma project management is one of a new breakthrough in solving organization problems and process management to support a company in increasing the product quality toward zero defects by means decreasing and preventing the same error.  The research?s objectives are to study application of quality management from six sigma perspectives in Elsari Brownies &amp; Bakery Company, Bogor. In particular, the research?s objectives are : (1) to study quality management system that applied by the company, (2) to measure production performance using six sigma concept on the company and (3) to formulate company?s strategy in increasing the quality of product.  Data collection was carried out by direct observation on raw material supply process, production process and distribution, interview with company owner and head of production and also the consumer of Elsari Brownies &amp; Bakery. The collected data are primary and secondary, that analyzed descriptively in order to give general description about controlling on production process that including on raw material supply, production process and the product. Furthermore, causal-effect diagram was used to describe significant relationship between effect and the cause. Causal factor was analyzed critically to determine the role on the effect. Causal effect diagram is powerful in determine the main factor that affect on quality fo final product. Quality management system in Elsari Brownies &amp; Bakery Bogor was described as on raw material supply process, production process and product that selling to meet the quality standard. Six sigma project management with Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) method is possible to be implemented to improve production quality and quantity of brownies cake. The problem critical point (CTQ) in production process that can be identified is 3 (three) CTQ, namely ingredient, baking and cooling. After all, the problems level is measured and the causal was detected using the causal-effect diagram. Furthermore, the CTQ is improved, and controlling continuous implemented to maintain production quality and not repeated the error.  According to measurement result using six sigma project management, the management has shows performance improvement therefore need to be maintain and improving. Abstract

A large number of forests at Munggu Village, Ngabang District, Landak Regency have been converted into oil palm and rubber plantations. As consequences, natural habitats in the region have been fragmented and species diversity, including herpetofauna, has been decreased. This study aimed to assess herpetofauna diversity in four different habitats in Munggu Village: (1) forests, (2) Landak river, (3) tourist areas, and (4) rubber plantations. Data collection used Visual Encounter Survey (VES) for 8 days.[u1]  The results showed that the total of 24 herpetofauna species: 15 amphibians? species (4 families) and 9 reptiles species (6 families) have been recorded from the four sampled areas. Of the four locations 11 species were found in river habitat in the forest, 4 species in the location of Landak river, 8 species in tourism sites and 9 species in rubber plantations. The Shannon-Wiener (H') diversity index in all four habitats was classified as moderate. In the river location in the forest, H' was 2.14, in the Landak river it was 1.28, in the tourism sites it was 1.71 and in the rubber plantation it was 1.87. However, the evenness index (E) for the herpetofauna community in all four locations was >0.80. Habitat loss and habitat destruction are among the causes of decline in amphibian and reptile populations. Knowing the diversity of herpetofauna, it is hoped that the community and stakeholders can collaborate to secure the herpetofauna in Munggu Village.

Abstract

The low production of soybeans in the West Pasaman district is due to severeal factors, including the lack of community knowledge in soybean farming which results in less productive yields obtained by farmer and the high use of inorganic fertilizers continuously resulting in less productive soil. This study was experimental research using a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments given were 6 treatments and 5 replications, the treatments used were 15 gram TSP (A treatment) as control treatments, 300 gram bokashi (B treatment), 400 gram bokashi &nbsp;(C treatment), 500 gram bokashi (D treatment), 600 gram bokashi (E treatment), 700 gram bokashi (F treatment). The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance and then continued by LSD test at ? level of 5%. Observed parameters were the number of planting seeds and weight of 50 seeds per plant. The results of this study indicated that bokashi fertilizer had no significant effect on the number of seeds but it had significant effect on the weight of 50 seeds and the best result was found in B treatment (300 gram bokashi/polybag). This research had environmental conditions with temperatures of 30 ? 340 C, environmental humidity of &nbsp;63 ? 80%, wind speeds of &nbsp;0,2 to 2,8 m/s, and soil pH of 5,4 to 7,0.

Abstract

The research goals were to explain the simultant and partially influence of physical (X1) and non-physical (X2) to work stress (Y). Research type is explanatory research method with quantitative approach. Population are employee of PT PLN (Persero) at Malang Service Area, East Java Distribution with seventy-five employee has picked as research sample. The result are the changes of working stress (Y) variable could be explained by physical (X1) and non-physical (X2) working environment variable as 34,6 percent and the balance about 65,4 percent remainder are affected by different factor that doesn’t covered by the research. While evaluating hypothesis, there are significant effect simultaneously and partially from physical and non-physical working environment on employee work stress variable. Working environment variable as partial have negative effect that mean if there is better working environment will reduce employee’s work stress. Working environment give sicnificant effect on employee’s work stress. This is shown by the regression coefficient physical work environment and non-physical work environment in a sequentially of -0,224 and -0,483 along with significant phisycal working environment value about 0,007 (0,007&lt;0,05) and non-physical working environment about 0,009 (0,009&lt;0,05). Keywords : Physical Working Environments, Non-Physical Working Environments, Work Stress ABSTRAK Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh secara simultan dan parsial lingkungan kerja fisik (X1) dan non fisik (X2) tehadap stres kerja karyawan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian penjelasan (explanatory research) dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah karyawan PT PLN (Persero) Distribusi Jawa Timur Area Pelayanan Malang, dengan sampel 75 orang. Perubahan variabel stres kerja (Y) dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel lingkungan kerja fisik (X1) dan non fisik (X2) sebesar 34,6 persen sedangkan sisanya sebesar 65,4 persen dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Pada uji hipotesis yang dilakukan terdapat pengaruh signifikan secara simultan dan parsial dari lingkungan kerja fisik dan non fisik terhadap variabel stres kerja karyawan. Variabel lingkungan kerja secara parsial mempunyai pengaruh negatif yang artinya semakin baik lingkungan kerja dapat menurunkan stres kerja karyawan. Variabel lingkungan kerja mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap stres kerja karyawan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan besarnya koefisien regresi lingkungan kerja fisik dan non fisik secara berurutan sebesar -0,224 dan -0,483 serta nilai signifikansi lingkungan kerja fisik sebesar 0,007 (0,007&lt;0,05) dan lingkungan kerja non fisik sebesar 0,009 (0,009&lt;0,05). Abstract

Model pembelajaran yang dapat menciptakan suasana belajar aktif dan menyenangkan adalah metode mind mapping berbantuan gambar. Saat pembelajaran berlangsung siswa melakukan serangkaian kegiatan mencatat atau menginventaris alternatif jawaban hasil diskusi pada tiap kelompok, tiap kelompok akan membacakan hasil diskusinya dan guru mencatat di papan tulis, selanjutnya siswa membuat kesimpulan dan guru memberikan bandingan sesuai dengan konsep yang telah ditetapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode mind mapping berbantuan  gambar  IPS  Terpadu siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 7 Banda Aceh, aktivitas guru dan siswa, keterampilan guru dan respon siswa dalam penerapan metode mind mapping  berbantuan gambar  untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS terpadu siswa  kelas VII SMP Negeri 7 Banda Aceh. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-6 SMPN 7 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 32 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar soal, lembar pengamatan aktivitas guru dan siswa, lembar pengamatan keterampilan guru dan lembar respon siswa. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase ketuntasan klasikal siklus I 78.12%, siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 25 orang dan yang tidak tuntas 7 orang. Siklus II ketuntasan klasikal 96.9% siswa yang tuntas naik menjadi 31 orang dan yang tidak tuntas hanya 1 orang. Aktivitas guru yang dominan adalah saat guru menunjukkan/memanggil salah satu siswa secara bergantian memasang atau mengurutkan gambar menjadi urutan yang logis dan menanyakan dasar alasan dasar mengurutkan tersebut. Keterampilan guru dalam menerapkan metode mind mapping berbantuan gambar selama siklus pertama dan kedua mengalami peningkatan yaitu dapat dikategori baik dengan perolehan skor 2.62, dan siklus II mendapat skor 2.87. Respon siswa terhadap metode mind mapping berbantuan gambar dapat dikatakan baik, siswa berpendapat bahwa dengan belajar melalui metode mind mapping berbantuan gambar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang dipelajari.
