Abstract

Mempawah Mangrove Park (MMP) is an ecotourism in West Kalimantan, especially in Mempawah Regency. MMP besides a tourist attraction is also an area of research and education. Visitors tend to increase every year starting from August 23 2016 ? April 27 2017 visitors come from local communities of Mempawah Regency and from outside Mempawah Regency such as Pontianak City, Singkawang City and Kubu Raya. Factors that influence the demand for MMP Mangrove nature tourism consumers are attractiveness, travel costs, time, and income. The research aims to measure the demand of consumers of Mempawah District MMP natural tourism services, and examine the factors that influence the demand for consumers of MMP natural tourism services. The sample used in this study were 45 respondents who visited MMP using the Accidental Sampling method. The analytical method in this study is descriptive analysis, basic assumption test, classic test, and multiple linear analysis. Descriptive analysis result of the demand consumers of MMP natural tourism services indicate that consumer demand is said to be high. The results of 45 respondents in this study were 22 respondents (48.89%) visited 3 times in the last 1 year. The results of the study used the basic assumption test, classic assumption test and multiple linear regression. The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that attraction variables have a positive and significant effect on the demand of consumers of MMP natural tourism services. Travel and time cost variables show a negative and insignificant influence on the demand of consumers of MMP natural tourism services because most of the visitors are local people of Mempawah Regency who do not require a high enough travel cost and a long time. The income variable shows a negative and significant effect on the demand of consumers of MMP natural tourism services. This happens to income still in the low category because most MMP visitors are status young as students who do not have a steady income.Keywords: Attractiveness, Consumer Demand, Income, MMP, Time and Travel Cost.

Abstract

Rasau Jaya Village, Kubu Raya district, which detected high hotspots annually. To prevent forest and land fires, community participation is needed.  The purpose of this study was to analyze community participation in preventing forest and land fires, and to find out factors related to community participation in preventing forest and land fires.  The method used in this study is a survey method with data collection techniques in the field using questionnaires and interview techniques.  The number of respondents in this study was 116 people from a population of 851 families. Data analysis used the Kendall Tau Correlation Non parametric statistical test.  The results of research on community participation in preventing forest and land fires show the level of community participation at a moderate level, this is influenced by a close relationship between knowledge and understanding of the functions and benefits of preventing forest and land fires, knowledge can encourage people to take the initiative prevention with socialization and planning activities carried out by the local government. In the ladder of community participation according to Arnstein, Rasau Jaya II village is at the level of Therapy, which is a level of improvement, where there is no real participation, in this case the community is directly involved in a program, but community involvement is not based on a strong mental drive and participation that contributes to the program.Keywords: Forest and land fires, Participation, Rasau Jaya, West Kalimantan

Abstract

The Semuntai Villagers have preserved existing forest honey by not destroying the forest where honey is located, so it can be harvested several months to increase economic income for the villagers. The study of people?s perceptions of the potential of forest honey in Desa Semuntai, Kecamatan Ketungau Hilir, Kabupaten Sintang, has not been carried out, so the research on the forest honey is needed. The purpose of this study was to examine people?s perceptions of the potential of forest honey and examine the factors that influence the perceptions of the Semuntai villagers on the potential of forest honey. This study used a survey method with interview techniques that are assisted by questionnaires. The sampling was conducted using purposive random sampling technique. The data analysis was carried out by descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that the people?s perception of the potential of forest honey in Desa Semuntai, Kecamatan Ketungau Hilir tended to be neutral, were people who knew the potential of forest honey and felt the benefits of forest honey themselves but did not understand the purpose and function itselves.The villagers that tended to have a moderate level of knowledge do not mean they have less understanding but are based on what they see. The highest income level is the medium category, which is Rp.8,795,513.70-Rp.16,186,024.76 with 50 respondents. The level of income respondents vary due to the different sources of income for each respondent, the main job of the dominant respondents is rubber farmers and farming as a side job. People who tend to have a moderate cosmopolitan level are people who have moderate knowledge of the potential of forest honey. They obtain and seek information from television or radio to get information about the potential of forest honey.Keywords: Community Perception, Potential Forest Honey, Semuntai

Abstract

The forest condition progressively reduced so that the desire to maintain a strong forest of the village community Nusapati. Social norms is one of the factors affection the forests, because social norms can prevent people to do the wrong behavior, such as deforestation the forestation. This study aimed to determain characteristics of a society consisting of age, education, ethnicity, land, occupation, gender and religion in community forest management and to determine whether social norms play an importan role in the management of community forests. This research was conducted in September 2015 located Nusapati village. The survey method with interview, sampling studies using total sampling and data collection techniques using primary and secondary data. The collected data are analyzed and presented descriptively. The research showed condocted on sosial norms, the comunity adhere to unwritten rules rather than written rules. Unwritten rules include tolak bala ritual and  deliheration to resolvethe problem in the management of public forest (hutan rakyat). Keywords: social norms, community forests, communities.

Abstract

This research to determine the indirect use value of coastal protection by planting mangroves in Setapuk Besar Village and comparing the benefits between the development of coastal protection in biological and physical. research was carried out from July-August 2018. this study used descriptive quantitative method. Analyze the data using the replacement cost method. Interview was carried out only with key respondents who as acted the chairman of the SPM (Surya Perdana Mandiri) association in Setapuk Besar. The results showed that total costs incurred are based on planting, protection, work wages and inventory activities of Rp. 270.182.000 there was 4 (four) financing according to the object of expenditure in the mangrove return activities (Enrichment). The cost of returning mangroves is much cheaper than the cost of making breakwaters other than that the benefits of mangroves are far more than building protection with Breakwater.Keyword: Economic valuation, Mangrove, replacement cost

Abstract

An efficient production process can be seen from the production process planning method considering the components of production such as labor.This research aims to analyze the degree of efficiency the number of plywood production labor with method of linebalancingin PT. Harjohn Timber Ltd and analyse the level of efficiency of the production output of plywood with the method linebalancing in PT. Harjohn Timber Ltd. Research conducted from March?April 2019. This research uses the method of observation by measuring the work time the production process which is done by as much as 5 times and supported with interview techniques to some of the workforce by as much as 25 people. The analysis of the data used, namely line balancing methods such as work stations, balance delay, line efficiency, smoothness index and output production. The results showed that the efficiency of the production including labor efficient seen from the division of types of labour, balance delay, line efficiency, smoothness index and output production. Results of line efficiency of 84.62% which means the trajectory of plywood production have been efficient. The value of the balance delay amounted to 15.37% mean waiting time on the production have been minimal, while the value of smoothness index too large IE 181.80 production pathway that indicates that in this regard yet balance.Keywords : efficiency, labor, line balancing

Abstract

Honey is one of the non-timber forest products (NTFPs). The management of forest honey can be done in a modern and traditional way. The purpose of this study to determine the processes of management of forest honey and the application of local wisdom values in the two villages and different farmer groups. The method used in this study is a survey by interview and questionnaire tools. Analysis of the data used is descriptive qualitative. Management of forest honey maintain sustainable forests as the availability of honey nest and bees feed. The local wisdom is still maintained that the use of honey nest derived from ancestral heritage in the form of tikung, repak and lalau. Abstract

Harvesting of forest products is an unit between human components and equipment. These components are aimed at removing forest products in wood form from forest areas. This research was held in 2017 at PT Bina Silva Nusa, aimed at analyzing the amount of costs required for harvesting activities, including logging, skidding and hauling activities. This study data analysis method is collecting primary data in the field and secondary data is information obtained from related company. The cost of each aspect harvesting activities of forest products is processed in tabulation form and calculated to obtain production costs. The amount of costs that PT Bina Silva Nusa spend for timber harvesting activities which include logging, skidding, loading and transportation activities is Rp 138.774/m3. These costs are the sum of all costs spend by the company in each component of harvesting activities, including the cost of logging contracts of Rp 12.000/m3, skidding contract costs of Rp 85.000/m3, loading and unloading costs of Rp 17.500/m3, and transportation costs of Rp 15.874/m3, and also has been added with Forest Resource Provision issued by the company per m3 of timber Rp 8.400. The cost of harvesting acacia wood if all components are carried out independently is Rp 115.214/m3, while the details of the costs are Rp 11.250/m3 for logging, skidding Rp 65.555/m3, loading and unloading Rp. 14.135/m3 and hauling Rp 15.874/m3,with the same provision is Rp 8.400 / m3.Keywords: Felling, Harvesting, Hauling, Production Cost, Skidding,

Abstract

The construction of urban forest area around the village of Siantan Hulu has a diversity of plant species to high levels of the tree. The public perception of the existence of the urban forest development tends to be diverse. It is influenced by the existence of some of the stuff one of these economic factors, social ecology and interconnected with one another. In this study categorizes the three factors, namely the economic factor whether the existence of urban forest development is able to affect people's income. Ecological factors are the existence of urban forest was able to maintain ecological nor the types of plants and animals in the jungle of cities and social factors are the existence of urban forest can affect your mindset and behaviour in society. This research aims to know the public perception about the construction of urban forest. The method of data collection conducted with interview techniques aided tool questionnaire submitted to the respondent. The taking of the respondents done in a purposive sampling technique, it is the technique of determination of samples with specific consideration. The results showed that the public perception is seen from the economic factors to the development of urban forest tend to be neutral, namely of 58.00%. This proves that the communities in the Village Siantan Hulu support and accept the existence of the urban forest development in the UPTD agribusiness. The results of the analysis indicate the level of the frequency of the public perception of the ecological factors of society against the urban forest tend to be neutral, namely of 54.00%, this proves that people in the village of Siantan Hulu accept the existence of the urban forest development in UPTD Agribusiness for maintaining and preserving the ecology that is in the forest and is capable of being stabilised ecosystem. The results of the analysis indicate the level of the frequency of the public perception of the social factors of society against the urban forest tend to be neutral, namely of 52.00%, This proves the existence of urban forest able to make social change for the society as there are mutual activities for urban forest development in order to remain sustainably so that their offspring will experience the goodness provided by nature for them to enjoy in the future. Abstract

The public revenue which is living around the forests depend on forest products. Non timber forest products can be a source of public revenue. The purpose of this study was to determine the type of timber forest products are utilized by people around the nature reserve of area Raya Pasi, the income received by the public and the factors related to people's income. This study uses a survey by interview with a guide questionnaire. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with the number of respondents are 70 households Analysis conducted by descriptive and inferential. The results showed that timber forest products are utilized by people. Fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants. The average income they earned around the nature reserve area Raya Pasi average of Rp. 11.995 million / household / year. Factors related to the type of revenue is the amount collected, while the number of working members and the number of hours worked to collect non-timber products do not have a significant relationship.
