Abstract

Anoa (Bubalus sp.) is a wildlife species, endemic dan protected in Nature Reserve of Pangi Binangga. The research aim was to identify the vegetation species of anoa aabitat in Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve. The research was used purposive sampling. Analysis of vegetation on anoa habitat showed that 31 species of plants comprising 21 families. In addition, recorded that there were 15 plant species comprising 11 families used as food sources. The key indicator plants at anoa habitat were Ardisia celebica, Castanopsis accuminatisimma, Calamus sp, Dysoxyllum posasiticum, Eurya acuminata, Lithocarpus celebicus, Litsea densiflora, Litsea formanii, Syzigium accuminatisium, Zingiber sp. Index of similarity of the plant species at all levels of growth was similar with the value ranging between 62.00%-88.52% Keywords: anoa, Bubalus sp., habitat, Pangi Binangga Nature Reserve

Abstract

Model FMU management plan Sintuwu Maroso as one model of community -based forest utilization . This is also expected through community access to forest areas. Thus the public will be more empowered and able to improve the ability, in using the natural resources optimally. But to realize it needed information about the potential and prospects, which is the social and cultural potential in supporting the development in the FMU Model Sintuwu Maroso. The research was conducted in the Tambarana village. Specified site intentionally (purposive sampling), with the main consideration, this village is one of the villages that fall within the area development model Sintuwu Maroso KPH. Analysis of the data is a descriptive analysis. From the results, it can be concluded as follows, that Socio-cultural potentials that exist in the Tambarana village, may indirectly support the Forest Management Unit (FMU) Sintuwu Maroso, Tambarana Village Community also has the potential to be social and cultural customs handed down through generations in terms of land use, the community formed a Land Control Team, and Other socio- cultural potential, characterized by harmonious relationships between residents and village rules made ​​to prevent the emergence of the conflict, one of which was the establishment of the FKUB. Abstract

Tarsier (Tarsius sp.) are alboreal species which life on the trees. The vegetation is one of the important biotic factors for the wild animal as a place for food, nesting places and shelter from extrim weather and hide from predators. The study aims were to determine the spesies composition and association of vegetation of tarsius (Tarsius sp.) habitat in Kamarora village. Research methods using multiple plots placed by purposive sampling at tarsier habitat. The results showed that the species composition at all levels of the growth obtained thirty two plant species. Based on the analysis of Chi-square (X2) between species at each level of the growth (seedlings, saplings, pole and tree) obtained that twenty four plant significantly associated tangible and four plant species were associated very significant. Abstract

The commercial utilization of ebony and the encroachment of its habitat to be converted into various community necessities have led to the decline of ebony species in their natural habitat. The physical and chemical properties of soil are a vital element of the habitat for the growth of vegetation, including in the ebony species. This study aimed to investigate the physical and chemical properties of soil at various altitudes in the Sausu Watershed, Central Sulawesi.  This study was conducted in the Sausu watershed, Central Sulawesi, which is a natural dispersion area for ebony. Completed composite soil sampling was conducted at three altitudes, i.e., 100-<250 m asl, 250-<400 m asl and 400-550 m asl. Subsequently, the samples were analyzed at Soil Science Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tadulako. It was carried out from February to May 2015. The results indicated that the slope and back at various altitudes of the Sausu watershed have insignificant effect on the physical and chemical properties of soil in ebony habitat. The properties, including the soil texture, permeability, bulk density or soil porosity, soil chemical properties, demonstrate the acidity level of “sour to acid”. Meanwhile, the availability of organic-C, N, P, K is classified as very low, low and moderate. The criteria of CEC is moderate to high towards fertile soil, but accompanied with moderate and high C/N ratios and very low, low and high base saturation.Keywords: Diospyros celebica, the soil’s physical and chemical properties, Sausu watershed.

Abstract

Ebony is a kind of luxury wood belonging to the class I and class strong durable I. shiny black wooden porch and smooth with a distinctive pattern of brown interspersed combination of the red line, it is suitable for engraving materials, luxurious furniture that has a high decorative value. The study aims to determine the species composition of vegetation and conditions of the type of ebony (Diospyros celebica Bakh.) On Tambarana ebony forests. The usefulness of this research can be used as guidelines in the management of type of ebony.  Research conducted in the forest group Tambarana around Fort Tambarana mountain at an altitude of 100-300 m above sea level in July and August 2013. The study used methods terraced path that consists of six lines of research. Each path along the 200m made measuring 20x20m plots of 10 plots. Sample plots, seedlings, saplings and poles placed nested sampling.  It can be concluded that the group Tambarana ebony forests, relatively poor when compared to the type of dipterocarp forests in Kalimantan. The number of species to the level found 68 types of trees, 73 species of small trees, saplings and seedlings 71 species of 62 species; The types that dominate at all levels of the growth is Pometia pinnata FORB., Homalium foetidum Benth., Canarium littorale BL., Callophylum inophyllum L., Diospyros celebica Bakh., Palaquium quercifolium Burck .; Type ebony large diameter is more scarce. Abstract

Study of kinds and tannin content of diets consumed by anoa is limited. This information is very important and necessary for anoa domestication. The aims of this research were to obtain information on kinds and tannin content of anoa diets. The research was conducted in forest of Pangi Binangga nature reserve and Lore Lindu National Park, province of Central Sulawesi in March to November 2009. Digestive content analyses method was used to study the kinds of diets consumed by anoa. Chromatography was used for tannin analysis. Results of the digestive content analysis found ten kinds of anoa diets, i.e. Ficus miquelly, Caryota mitis, Ficus ampelas, Syzigium sp., Cordia mixab, Paspalum conjugatum, Smilax leocophylla, Saccarum spontaneum, Isachne globosa and Imperata cylindrica. The proportion of the diets were 60%, 45%, 35%, 17%, 12%, 10%, 8%, 8%, 5%, and 4%, respectively. Three of six diets namely Ficus miquelly, Saccarum spontaneum and Isachne globosa contained low tannin. The tannin content of three diets was 0.34%, 0.61%, and 0.99%, respectively. It is concluded that anoa in forest prefer diets that contain low tannin, such as Ficus fruits, shoots of shrubs.

Abstract

Medicinal plants are medicinal plants that can relieve pain, increase endurance, prevent and cure diseases. The use of natural materials as traditional medicine in Indonesia has been carried out by our ancestors since centuries ago until now still exists, especially in the village of Malonas, Dampelas District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of medicinal plants in the Production Forest area of Malonas Village, Dampelas District, Donggala Regency. This research was carried out in the production forest of Malonas Village, Dampelas Subdistrict, Donggala Regency, which was held for 2 months, from July to August 2018. This study used a single plot method which was purposively placed based on the location of medicinal plants. The minimum sample plot area used is determined by the area species curve. The results of the research conducted show that the number of seedlings and understorey medicinal plants that can grow in this area is greater, because the growth rate of the lower plants has a high diversity and species richness index influenced by the topography of the slope-sloping research site and at least cover from canopy at the level of growth of poles and trees. It can be seen from the results of calculation of tree level diversity index (H ') (0.69), pole level (0.61), stake level (0.63), seedling level and understorey (1.33). So the diversity of medicinal plants according to growth rates is generally classified as low.Keywords: Malonas Village Production Forest, Medicinal Diversity
