Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran rangkaian listrik melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD serta memaparkan tanggapan mahasiswa Elektronika FT UNY terhadap implementasi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Pelaksanaan tindakan berlangsung 2 siklus, tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 kegiatan, yaitu: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Lokasi penelitian di Jurdiknik Elektronika FT UNY, mulai bulan September ? Nopember 2007. Subyek penelitian mahasiswa D3 reguler Prodi Teknik Elektronika yang mengambil mata kuliah rangkaian listrik. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik dokumentasi, observasi, dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif teknik STAD dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran rangkaian listrik. Hasil belajar mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan, dari rerata 67,47 siklus I menjadi 74,78 siklus II. Sebesar 78,30% mahasiswa member tanggapan setuju terhadap implementasi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD.

Abstract

This study describes perception of the supervisor teachers toward the skills of Yogyakarta State University students conducting Teaching Practicum at Vocational High Schools in Yogyakarta regency in the academic year of 2012/2013. This study was conducted using survey approach. The population were the teachers of the Industrial Technology program at Vocational High Schools in Yogyakarta regency. The results showed the perception toward the students? skills in  high, average and low categories were 18.33%, 56.67% and 25% respectively. The reasons for the 25% of the low category were the students did not have sufficient experiences in teaching and did not completely master crucial components of the learning process, particularly in the opening stage

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to determine the development process of graphic and parametric equalizer trainer media in the course of Audio System and to examine the quality of the media. The development process of the media referred to the model offered by Lee and Owens. The research procedures consisted of assessment/analysis, designing, implementation and evaluation. The results of the study showed that the percentages for the quality aspect of the media and the companion module were 4.31 and 4.42 respectively. Based on these two aspects, it was obtained the overall percentage that was equal to 4.36. Whereas from the process of the trial by the students, the percentages of the media and the companion module were 4.47 and 4.36 respectively. Thus the level of validity and feasibility of the media was categorized as very good.

Abstract

This study presents the competence of vocational high school teachers through the implementation of five work dimensions of teachers? incremental standard competence. It was conducted in the framework of the sustainable professional development for vocational teachers using participatory action research at two Vocational High Schools by involving 50 teachers. The study included socialization of incremental competency standards and reflection, mentoring and consultation sessions, and teaching reports and reflection. Data collection used observation, assessment, and teaching reports. To optimize the results, it was ended with a focus group discussion involving the Institute for Education Quality Assurance. The results showed that the teachers? competence in the aspects of the learning plan, learning resource utilization, media utilization, facilitating students? learning needs, ability to create learning evaluation instrument, and following up the learning outcomes were all categorized as good while the aspect of developing students? potentials both curriculum implementation and reflection ability was categorized as very good. It indicates the mentoring and the consultation worked effectively. Meanwhile, the teachers' ability that should be improved is the creation of assessment instruments.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to improve the readiness of the students in performing Field Practice through peer teaching practice and Jigsaw cooperative learning approach. The approach of the study used classroom action research with the subject of the study were the students of bachelor program of Electronical Engineering who took video technique course. The study was done by the following steps, pre-action to balance the researcher?s perception and debriefing consisting designing lesson plan and micro teaching. The validity of the instruments of pedagogy competency was analyzed by item correlation, the result were, preparation r=0,73; implementation r=0,89 and evaluation r=0,97. The result of reliability testing for preparation was very reliable with r=0,89; implementation is very reliable with r=0,97 and implementation is less reliable with r=0,53. The result of the study showed that the students get a real picture of teacher?s responsibility through the exposure to the experiences of peer-tutoring, preparation, teaching practice, and evaluating the result of the study.The students?competence in preparation, teaching, and evaluating the result of study was improved cycle by cycle. The improvement in students?teaching skills was followed by improvement of the result of video technique learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to (1) analyse the competence of Audio Video Engineering teachers of Vocational High Schools in Yogyakarta, Sleman and Kulonprogro; (2) assess the teachers? continuing professional development (CPD) needs and (3) identify CPD programmes to accomodate the needs. The study employed a survey approach. The results of this study revealed the following: (1) the teachers? competence in good, fair, and poor categories were 43.33%, 40%, and 16.67% respectively, thus it is crucial for the stakeholders to promote CPD ; (2) the teachers? CPD needs in very good, good, and fair categories were 36.67%, 36.67%, and 26.66% respectively. It should be the basis for the stakeholders in planning the CPD programmes, since the teachers were planning to initiate their professional development; and (3) the CPD programmes prioritized by the teachers were training, internet-based learning, collaborative works with relevant universities, and self- development in terms of professional competencies.
