Abstract

Fusarium wilt disease caused by pathogenic fungus F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense is an important disease in banana plants. This research was aimed to identifiy Fusarium spp. collected from banana plants showing wilt disease based on morphology and molecular characters.  The fungi isolates obtained was further examined for its pathogenicity and distribution in various parts of banana plants.  Based on morphological characters, i.e. growth rate, total conidia, colony color, macroconidium, microconidium, and chlamydospores, F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense can be differentiated from other species of Fusarium, but not the strain. Molecular analysis using specific primers VCG 01213/16 and Foc1/Foc 2 successfully identified 13 and 7 isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense TR4 and F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense non TR4, respectively.  Analysis using universal primer ITS4/ITS5 identified 7 isolates of F. solani, 1 isolate of F. verticillioides, and 2 isolates non Fusarium.  Infection of F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense TR4 and non-TR4 were found mostly in pseudo stems, whereas F. solani and F. verticillioides dominantly colonized banana corm. Pathogenicity test showed that F. oxysporum f. sp. cubense TR4 and non-TR4 caused necrosis on corm of cv. Ambon Kuning.  Similar necrosis symptom was also observed on infection of F. solani but with less severity.

Abstract

ABSTRACT        The production of pig manure waste potentially pollutes the soil, water and air. One of the most effective processing a waste treatments is through composting. The composting process takes a long time if not assisted by the activator as decomposers of organic materials in order to accelerate the composting process. Activators such as local microorganism (MOL) contain macro nutrients, micro and active microorganism that potentially decomposed organic materials, growth stimulants and pest/disease control agents such as to help speed up the composting process. This study aims to determine the C/N ratio of optimal raw materials for composting of pig manure and vegetable waste, determining the effect of adding local microorganism (MOL) to the length of time of composting and determining the effectiveness of business from composting of pig manure and vegetable waste based on the calculation of B/C ratio.        This research uses quantitative approach with experiment method. The first stage is the preparation of the raw material which is divided into three groups : composition 1 with 75% (pig manure) and 25% (vegetable waste), composition 2 with 50% (pig manure) and 50% (vegetable waste) and then composition 3 with 25% (pig manure) and 75% (vegetable waste). Furthermore, the best raw material composition was treated with variations of MOL addition of A (100 ml), B (300 ml), C (500 ml) and D (without MOL).        The results showed that the composition of the best raw material mixture was a mixture composition of 25% (pig manure) and 75% (vegetable waste) with a C/N ratio of 38.95. The effect of MOL addition indicates that the greater MOL volume the faster to composting process. The quality compost with addition of MOL has C/N ratio levels is (16,30), N-total (1,65%), P tersedia (8043,02 ppm), K tersedia (8857,40 ppm), Fe (1,87%), Mn (0,09%) Zn (480 ppm) in which that value meets the SNI 19-7030-2004. Based on analysis of B/C ratio obtained result of 1.04 where the value is approaching criteria B/C ratio more than 1.00 which means compost business feasible to be developed.   Keywords : Pig manure, MOL, time of composting, composter, B/C ratio

Abstract

Both of Nectarinia jugularis parents, male and female, usually raise their offsprings together. They feed the chicks, carry away faecal sac and keep their offspring safe from any threats such as predators. On one day the female did not appear, it was not clear why she did not come back home. Since then, the male took care of the chicks by feeding them, disposing the faecal sac and keep the chicks save all day, even though he had never slept in the nest at night as the female did. The male tried to increase the feeding rate and faecal sac removal to compensate the absence of the female. Parental care by single parent male continued until they leave the nest. The male still fed the chicks after they flew off from the nest.

Abstract

This research is to observe the Seurukan (Osteochilus vittatus) fish liver microscopic structure in Krueng Sabee river, Aceh Jaya Regency. Fish and river water samples were taken from May to June 2015. Histological techniques and research parameters was conducted in FMIPA Microtechnic Laboratory, Syiah Kuala University, while river water and Seurukan fish mercury level was analyzed in Balai Riset dan Standarisasi Industri, Banda Aceh. Completely Randomized Design was applied of the research with three treatments. The treatments were location of fish sample taken through the lenght of Krueng Sabee river that were Panggong village (location I), Paya Seumantok village (location II), and Mon Mata village (location III). Each treatment consisted of six repetition (six fishes). Microscopic structure of Seurukan fish liver was observed with paraffin method histological techniques. The parameters calculated were amount of fish hepatocytes with degeneration and necrose. The data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance followed by Tukey's test. Abstract

Pola konsumsi dan perilaku produksi menentukan roda perekonomian. Al-Qur’an sebagai sumber ajaran, memiliki ajaran tentang konsumsi, produksi dan distribusi disamping aktivitas-aktivitas perekonomian lainnya. Dalam konteks produksi, tentu saja produsen muslim sama sekali sebaiknya tidak tergoda oleh kebiasaan dan perilaku ekonom-ekonomi yang bersifat menjalankan dosa, memakan harta terlarang, menyebarkan permusuhan, berlawanan dengan sunnatullah, dan menimbulkan kerusakan di muka bumi. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisa pengaruh personal selling dan kualitas produk terhadap keputusan pembelian fitting pipa (elbow) studi kasus pada PT. Sekawan Abadi Teknik.  Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deksriptif kuantitatif dan metode analisis regresi linier berganda.  Populasi dama penelitian adalah merupakan toko-toko yang menjadi pelanggan perusahaan.  Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 83 toko yang berada di kota Medan.  Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa personal selling berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian dimana nilai thitung 3,501 > ttabel 1,99 dan kualitas produk berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian dimana nilai thitung 6,349 > ttabel 1,99 serta secara simultan juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian fitting pipa elbow.    Implikasi dari penelitian ini bahwa PT.  Sekawan Abadi Teknik harus meningkatkan kemampuan personal selling perusahaan untuk memberikan pelayanan terbaik kepada para pelanggan dan menjaga kualitas produk sesuai yang dijanjikan sehingga dapat meningkatkan pembelian pelanggan.

Abstract

Tanaman sipatah-patah (Cissus quadrangula Salisb.) berpotensi dalam proliferasi tulang secara in vivo dan in vitro. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengamati efek toksisitas ekstrak etanol batang sipatah-patah (Cissus quadrangula Salisb.) terhadap gambaran histologi hati dan ginjal mencit. dilakukan menggunakan 20 ekor mencit jantan berumur 2 bulan dengan rata-rata berat badan 27.8 g ± 2.042 g. Metode penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas empat perlakuan lima kali ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas pemberian ekstrak etanol batang sipatah-patah dengan dosis 0 mg/kg bb (kontrol), 105 mg/kg bb, 210 mg/kg bb, dan 315 mg/kg bb yang diberikan secara oral satu kali sehari selama 14 hari. Analisis data menggunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak etanol batang sipatah-patah berpengaruh nyata terhadap degenerasi dan nekrosis pada sel hati  dan sel tubulus ginjal seiring dengan.  peningkatan dosis ekstrak etanol batang sipatah-patah yang diberikan.

Abstract

The objectives of the present study were to evaluate the growth pattern and morphological variation of halfbeak (Zenarchopterus dispar) in Northern Coast of Aceh. This research was conducted from August 2014 to November 2015. The sampling was conducted from October to December 2014 in three sampling locations i.e. Kuala Peukan Baro Kabupaten Pidie, Kuala Gampong Keudee Kabupaten Pidie Jaya, and Kuala Mamplam Kota Lhokseumawe. The fish sample were analyzed at Laboratorium of Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Syiah Kuala University. The traditional morphometric was used in this study. The result showed that there were 110 fish were sampled from three sampling locations; 37 fish, 36 fish and 37 fish from Pidie, Pidie Jaya and Lhokseumawe respectively. The coeficient b value of Julung-Julung fish population in Pidie and Lhokseumawe showed allometric negative growth pattern (b<3). In other hand, the b value of the population in Pidie Jaya was showed allometric positive growth pattern (b>3). One-way ANOVA test revealed that distinction among three locations did not showed a significant different on observed morphometric characteristic (P<0,05). Univariate analysis implied that fish from all three locations had adequately high similarity of morphological characteristics (66,67%). Although the multivariate analysis showed that group of Zenarchopterus dispar fish in Pidie and Lhokseumawe have higher similarity than in Pidie Jaya, but there were no morphological characteristic difference among three sampling locations.  Keywords: Julung-julung (Zenarchopterus dispar), length-weight relationships, traditional morphometric, northern coastal of Aceh   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat dan variasi morfometrik ikan julung-julung Zenarchopterus dispar yang tertangkap di perairan pantai utara Aceh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Agustus 2014 hingga November 2015. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Oktober sampai Desember 2014 dan meliputi tiga lokasi pengambilan sampel, yaitu Kuala Peukan Baro Kabupaten Pidie, Kuala Gampong Keudee Kabupaten Pidie Jaya, dan Kuala Mamplam Kota Lhokseumawe. Sampel yang tertangkap dianalisis di Laboratorium Terpadu, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Metode yang digunakan adalah tradisional morfometrik. Jumlah ikan yang tertangkap sebanyak 110 ekor, yaitu 37 ekor tertangkap di Pidie, 36 ekor tertangkap Pidie Jaya, dan 37 ekor yang tertangkap di Lhokseumawe. Populasi ikan julung-julung Zenarchopterus dispar di Pidie dan Lhokseumawe menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif (b<3). Sedangkan sebaliknya untuk daerah Pidie Jaya yang menunjukkan pola pertumbuhan alometrik positif (b>3). Hasil uji one-way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan lokasi tangkapan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata terhadap karakter morfometrik ikan julung-julung (P<0,05). Berdasarkan analisis univariat ikan julung-julung yang tertangkap di perairan Pidie, Pidie Jaya, dan Lhokseumawe memiliki kesamaan karakterkarakter morfologi yang cukup tinggi, yaitu sebesar 66,67%. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan meskipun kelompok ikan julung-julung di Pidie dan Lhokseumawe memiliki kemiripan yang lebih tinggi berbanding dengan di Pidie Jaya, tetapi secara umum ikan yang tertangkap di ketiga lokasi tersebut memiliki karakter morfologi yang tidak berbeda.  Kata kunci: Julung-julung (Zenarchopterus dispar), hubungan panjang-berat, tradisional morfometrik, perairan utara Aceh

Abstract

This study was conducted from November until December 2016. The location of the research implementation was in the beach area of Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar. The research method used was transect method. At each station, transect was made with the length of 25 meters and width of 10 meters. The transect rope was stretched with a5 meters distance from the perpendicular shoreline from the position of lowest tide point to the direction of the reef will. The measured parameters were the diameter of the shell body, the weight of the body, The Maturity Index of the Gonads (IKG) and The Maturity Level of the Gonads (TKG).TKG was determined based on the morphology of the gonads. Data were analyzed descriptively. The types of sea urchins found on the beach area ofMesjid Raya District in Aceh Besar Regency were Tripneutes gratilla, Echinothrix calamaris, Echinometra vanbrunti, Diadema setosum and Toxopneustes pileolus with a total of 66 individuals which comprised of 41 male urchin individuals and 25 female urchin individuals. All types of urchins can be found on theAhmad Rhangmanyang Beach with a total of 24 male individuals and 17 female individuals, whereas only three types of E. calamaris, E. vanbrunti, and D. Setosumcan be obtained from Lamreh Beach, with the total number of 17 male individuals and 8 female individuals. There was a diversity of gonads maturity between the individuals and the type of urchins that was found.       Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan November sampai bulan Desember 2016. Adapun lokasi pelaksanakan penelitian tersebut di kawasan Pantai Kecamatan Mesjid Raya, Aceh Besar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode transek. Pada setiap stasiun dibuat transek dengan ukuran panjang 25 m dan lebar 10 m. Tali transek ditarik dengan jarak 5 meter dari bibir pantai yang tegak lurus dari posisi titik surut terendah ke arah tubir karang.Parameter yang diukur adalah diameter cangkang tubuh, bobot tubuh, Indeks Kematangan Gonad (IKG) dan Tingkat Kematangan Gonad (TKG).TKG ditetapkan berdasarkan morfologi gonad. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif.Jenis bulu babi yang ditemukan pada Kawasan Pantai Kecamatan Mesjid Raya Kabupaten Aceh Besar adalah Tripneutes gratilla, Echinothrix calamaris, Echinometra vanbrunti, Diadema setosum dan Toxopneustes pileolus dengan jumlah total 66 individu yang terdiri dari 41 individu bulu babi jantan dan 25 individu bulu babi betina. Seluruh jenis bulu babi tersebut dapat ditemukan di Pantai Ahmad Rhangmanyang dengan jumlah 24 individu jantan dan 17 individu betina,  sedangkan di Pantai Lamreh diperoleh hanya tiga jenis saja yaitu E. calamaris, E. vanbrunti, D. setosumdengan jumlah 17individu jantan dan 8 individu betina.Terdapat keragaman kematangan gonad antar individu maupun jenis bulu babi yang ditemukan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis is a study of the influence of shade on the growth of the olive ridley turtle’s embryo (Lepidochelys olivacea) in Lhok Pante Tibang, Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh with the purpose of getting an overview about the influence of shade and incubation period to the stages of growth of olive ridley turtle’s embryo. Sampling was done in Lhok Pante Tibang, Syiah Kuala Subdistrict Banda Aceh in January-April of 2016. This research uses the Complete Random Disposition (Rancangan Acak Lengkap), the factorial were of 2 factors of treatment, shade treatment and incubation period. Shade treatment consisted of semi-naturalopen nests with 70% of paranet shade. Incubation period consisted of the incubation of 5, 10, 20 and 40 days, every combination of treatment consisted of five repetitions (five eggs). The parameters measured covered the diameter of the egg, the egg weight, the length of the embryo, the weight of the embryo, temperature, rate of water sand and the intensity of the light. The research’s data result were analyzed by Analysis of Variant (ANOVA), and then followed by a Tukey test. The results of the research showed that there are olive ridley turtle’s eggs which were fertilized and not fertilized by doing the shade treatment and incubation period. Environmental factor that were measured is the average value of the rate of water in shaded nest  3 ± 1 % no shade 4 ± 3, the temperature of the air was 29,66 ± 4,24 oC, the temperature of the shaded soil 30,71 ± 6,45 oC, with no shade 33,52 ± 2,20 oC, the intensity of the light at 06.00 WIB with shade 90 ± 85,24 no shade 74,2 ± 44, the intensity of the light at 14.00 WIB with no shade 32385,71 ± 2542,59, no shade 64371,43 ± 34055,28. The condition of the beach where the turtle laid eggs had a big influence on the growth of olive ridley turtle’s embryo.Keywords : Olive Ridley Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea), Embryo, Lhok Pante Tibang. ABSTRAKKajian tentang pengaruh naungan terhadap pertumbuhan embrio penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea) di Lhok Pante Tibang Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, ditujukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai pengaruh naungan dan periode inkubasi terhadap tahapan pertumbuhan embrio penyu lekang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Lhok Pante Tibang, Kecamatan Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh pada bulan Januari-April 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), faktorial 2 faktor perlakuan, perlakuan naungan dan periode inkubasi. Perlakuan naungan terdiri atas sarang semi alami terbuka dan bernaungan jaring paranet 70%. Perlakuan periode inkubasi terdiri atas inkubasi 5, 10, 20 dan 40 hari, tiap kombinasi perlakuan terdiri dari lima ulangan (lima butir telur). Parameter yang diukur meliputi diameter telur, berat telur, panjang embrio, berat embrio, suhu, kadar air pasir dan intensitas cahaya. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan Analisis of Varian (ANOVA), yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat telur penyu lekang yang terbuahi dan tidak terbuahi perlakuan naungan dan periode inkubasi. Faktor lingkungan yang diukur adalah rata-rata nilai kadar air sarang bernaungan 3 ± 1 % tidak ada naungan 4 ± 3, Suhu udara 29,66 ± 4,24oC, suhu tanah ada naungan 30,71 ± 6,45 oC, tidak ada naungan 33,52 ± 2,20 oC, intensitas cahaya ada naungan pukul 06.00 WIB 90 ± 85,24 tidak ada naungan 74,2 ± 44, intensitas cahaya pukul 14.00 WIB ada naungan 32385,71 ± 2542,59 tidak ada naungan 64371,43 ± 34055,28. Kondisi pantai peneluran penyu sangat mempengaruhi terhadap perkembangan embrio penyu lekang.Kata Kunci : Penyu Lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea), Embrio, Lhok Pante Tibang.
