Abstract

This research is descriptive qualitative research with approach of sociology of literature. Data collection techniques used in this study are document analysis techniques and interviews. Data validity uses data triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis using interactive analysis method with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that (1) the author's most dominant social setting influences the creation of literary works, namely the educational background and the profession of the author. (2) The description of the community reflected in the ACIM includes: stunting in life, issues of tolerance, doubts about defending the homeland, the dissolution of national language, cultural issues, and the phenomenon of early marriage. (3) the response of ACIM readers states that this anthology is interesting in terms of the language, theme and background of the formation of two state anthologies. (4) the values of character contained in ACIM include; religious, responsibility, hard work, respect, polite, ecological, nationalist, and action oriented. (5) ACIM can be used as a literary teaching material in high schools in accordance with the basic competencies (KD) of short stories, this anthology can also be used as literary learning material in terms of aspects of language, psychology, and cultural background.

Abstract

This research aims to describe: (1) contained structure in Kebumen folklore; (2) the educational value found in Kebumen folklore; (3) the relevance of educational value on Kebumen folklore with literary learning materials in junior high school. This research includes qualitative research using case study (observation and interview) and analyzing several documents in the object form of folklore study in Kebumen regency related with interview result with resource persons related to folklore, and result of interview with teacher and student. Data analysis techniques using interactive model analysis techniques namely data reduction, presentation, and withdrawal of conclusions or verification.The results of this research are: (1) the story structure that contained in the three folklore in Kebumen Regency includes (a) themes, (b) characters and characterization, (c) background, (d) plot, and (e)the message of the story; (2) the educational values that contained in three Kebumen Regency folklore include (a) the value of social education, (b) the value of moral education, (c) the value of religious education, (d) the value of custom/traditional education, and (e) the value of heroic education; (3) the relevance of educational value to folklore with literary learning materials in junior high school according to the criteria of Basic Competence and Keynote Competence and contains a moral value in it.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe and explain the realization of the following Grice?s cooperative principles; (2) describe and explain the realization of the violatting Grice?s cooperative principles; and (3) explains the relevance of Grice's principles of cooperation as teaching materials for high school speaking skills. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Sources of data was a transcripted document form. The technique for taking the subject was done by purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study was using the flow model. The results of the study are as follows. First, the maxim of ?quantity? of the Grice?s cooperative principle of was the most followed as many as 35 data (59,3%). Second, the maxim of ?quantity? was also the most violated as many as 33 data (48,5%). Third, Grice?s coopertive principles can be used as teaching materials of speaking skills in high school because (1) it provides guidance to students; (2) it provides guidance for teachers in giving score; and (3) it improves effectiveness in the learning process of speaking skills, especially in discussion activities.

Abstract

This research is a correlation that aims to know (1) the correlation of vacabukary mastery with exposition text writing skills; (2) the correlation of reading habit with exposition text writing skills; (3) the correlation of vacabukary mastery and reading habit together with exposition text writing skills. The sample of this research are 128 students or 28% from 446 students, the total of population. The sampling technique that used is cluster random sampling. The data were collected using test method ang questionnaire. The rewuirements analysis that used is normality test. Meanwhile the data analysis that used are correlation (simple and double) and regression. The results of this study are: 1) positive and significant relationship of vocabulary mastery with the skills of writing exposition text shown with ry1 correlation coefficient of 0.45; 2) there is a positive and significant correlation of reading habits with expository text writing skills shown with ry2 correlation coefficient of 0.67;  3) there is a positive and significant relationship of mastery of vocabulary and reading habits together with the skills of writing expositional texts on the class students shown by the value of Ry.12 of 0.73 and the coefficient of determination of 0.53. Thus X1 Mastery of Vocabulary and X2 Reading Habits together contributes 53% to the skill of writing exposition texts

Abstract

This research is a case study research.. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Source of data used in the form of events, informants, and documents. Data collection technique used are direction observation, interview, and document. The data validity test used is triangulation of source and triangulation method. Data analysis technique used is flow model. The result of this research is description of: (1) the characteristic Indonesian Papuan dialect are divided into linguistic and nonlinguistic elements. The linguistic elements include; (a) phoneme replacement; (b) diphthong replacement; (c) phoneme removal; (d) the use of intonation. Nonlinguistic elements are speech and paralinguistic events; (2) the factors that influence the emergence of Indonesian Papuan dialect are; (a) administrative unity; (b) a specific sense of community identity; (3) the same of geographical area; (d) historical experience; (3) characteristics of Indonesian Papuan dialect has relevance as materials of sociolinguistic subject at Indonesian Language Education Department of Sebelas Maret University.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research aims to (1) describe and explain the structure of folklore of Purbalingga District, (2) to describe and explain the social care values contained in Purbalingga District folklore, (3) describe and explain the relevance of folklore as the character buildingand teaching material in Junior High School. Data and information are collected through informants and documents. Data collection is done through observation, recording, interview, and document analysis. Research sample is determined by purposive sampling technique. Validation of data is done by triangulation. The results of this research are:(1) the structure of folklore Purbalingga District, (2) social caring values contained in Purbalingga District folklore, (3) relevance of folklore as the character building and teaching material in Junior High School.

Abstract

The purposes of the research are to describe and to explain the learning process of short-story writing based on Curriculum 2013 which includes teachers? comprehension about Curriculum 2013, planning, implementation, and assessment based on the Curriculum 2013 and the constraints and efforts made to overcome the obstacles. The research used descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The data resources in this research was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documents analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that learning to write short stories needs to be evaluatedin order to increase the quality of learning process both from planning, implementation, and the assesment because there are still some obstacles in the implementation. This the Curriculum 2013 can be implemented in accordance with the concepts and rules have been made by the government and achieve the goal of education have been formulated.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research with case study approach. The population in this study were class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar. The research sample was students of class X IPS 1 with purposive sampling sampling technique. Data sources include events, informants, and documents. Data collection techniques such as observation, interview, and document analysis. The data validity test consists of triangulation of data sources, method triangulation, and informant review. Data analysis technique is interactive model of analysis. The results of this study include: (1) teachers' perceptions of the implementation of the Curriculum 2013 Revised Edition on learning to read poetry is good; (2) instructional planning is prepared in accordance with Permendikbud Number 22 Year 2016; (3) the implementation of reading poetry learning works well; (4) assessment of learning has not been done effectively; (5) obstacles in the form of: (a) limited face-to-face learning time in semester 2; (b) the implementation of a less effective learning assessment; (c) not all students have the talent to read poetry and students find it difficult to find the atmosphere of poetry; (d) subjectivity in assessing literary learning; (6) efforts in the form of: (a) providing structured and unstructured tasks; (b) the use of tasks in group discussion so that the assessment of poetry reading can still be carried out in its entirety; (c) students are required to frequently see references to reading poetry from youtube; d) making assessment criteria.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain: (1) the conversation structure in the classroom interaction of Indonesian language subject between teachers-students and among students and (2) the language function of the teachers' language and students' language in the classroom interaction. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Sragen. The subjects of this study were the use of language the teacher and students in Indonesian language course. The data in the form of sentences and discourse were analyzed by Sinclair & Cotlthard (1975) theory and Halliday (1973) theory. This research belongs to qualitative research using case study methods. The results of this study are; first, in the teachers-students conversation structure and the students-students conversation structure found new actions, namely, repeat. Both of the sequences of the conversation structure unit are from the largest to the smallest, namely: lesson, transaction, exchange, move, and act. Second, the language functions in the teachers? language and students? language, namely: the instrumental function, the regulatory function, the interaction function, the representational function, the personnel function, and the heuristic function.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research that aims to describe about the correlation between effective sentence mastery and reading habit of printed mass media with news text writing skills independent or together. The method used is correlational survey. The sample in this study is 126 students or 28% from the total population of 446 students. Thesample determined by cluster random sampling technique. Research data were obtained through three instruments (1) test of news text writing skills; (2) effective sentence mastery test; and(3) questionnaire of reading habit of printed mass media. Data analysis technique used is product moment correlation (simple and double) and regression. The result of this research show effective sentences mastery (X1) and reading habit of printed mass media (X2) together contributes 48% to news text writing skills (Y).
