Abstract

District/ city regional governments need to seek equal investment and income with other District/ City regions to avoid disparity/ inequality. This study uses strategic management theory and good governance. The research method in this text uses qualitative methods. The Government of Kediri Regency develops its territory to be used as a place of investment by building Gumul Lima Junction Kediri Regency. This effort was carried out with the 2012 KPM (Investment Office) work program. In the work program there was management at KPM in the form of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. KPM implements strategy management, one of the strategy management tools through SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats). So far, investors in SLG are still one investor, namely PT. Gumul Paradise Island. This is because it is difficult to get investors because it competes with Kediri City which is more strategically located. KPM in implementing strategic management uses SWOT analysis. Analysis is done by knowing the successes, failures, inhibiting factors, and supporting factors of the organization in carrying out its duties. After that, KPM gets a solution to the problems faced and can carry out the planning and development of work programs to face the challenges ahead. Establishing an atmosphere that is conducive to investing, investors need good and easy services in investing. This research was carried out in 2012, an interesting theme for further research on the development of investment in Kediri Regency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan hambatan mahasiswa UNRIKA dalam membuat skripsi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik angket dan wawancara. Sumber data adalah 5 mahasiswa UNRIKA jurusan Pendidikan Matematika semester VII tahun ajaran 2018-2019. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengisi angket, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan wawancara individu. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor penyebab kecemasan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi skripsi yaitu sulitnya mencari literatur sebagai sumber referensi dalam penelitian, sulitnya proses pengajuan judul, dan sulitnya proses bimbingan dengan dosen pembimbing. Sedangkan cara mengatasi kecemasan tersebut dengan berjalan-jalan untuk merilekskan pikiran, curhat dan juga mengingat orang tua. Walaupun penelitian ini hanya melibatkan mahasiswa yang terbatas tetapi setidaknya dapat memberikan gambaran singkat tentang kecemasan yang dialami mahasiswa ketika menyusun skripsi. Informasi tentang faktor-faktor menyebab kecemasan mungkin dapat digunakan oleh pihak kampus untuk mengantisipasi ataupun meminimalisir faktor tersebut sehingga kecemasan mahaiswa dalam menyusun skripsi dapat dikurangi.Kata Kunci: Kecemasan Mahasiswa, Menghadapi Skripsi  Anxiety of Students at Riau Kepulauan University in Writing Thesis AbstractThis study aims to describe the obstacles of UNRIKA undergraduate students in writing a thesis. This is a descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Data was collected using questionnaire and interview. The participants are five students of Mathematics Education department at UNRIKA. They are at the seventh semester. The results of this study indicate that factors that cause student anxiety in writing thesis are difficulty in finding literature or references, difficulty in determining the title, and difficulty in supervising process. Students propose several methods to overcome the anxiety such as go out or walk around, vent to their peers and remember their parents. Although this study only involves limited number of students, it might provide a brief description of the anxiety experienced by students when preparing a thesis. Information about the causes of anxiety might be useful for the university to anticipate or minimize these factors so that student anxiety in preparing the thesis can be diminished. Keywords: student anxiety, thesis writing

Abstract

Disain sebuah kolam untuk atraksi lumba-lumba perlu diperhatikan, agar kecepatan gerak lumba-lumba dan variasi gayanya menjadi semakin menarik bagi pengunjung. Kolam bagi lumba lumba adalah tempat pentas sekaligus tempat hidupnya, sebagai pengganti habitat yang asli di lautan lepas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengkomparasikan kecepatan gerak lumba-lumba di dua bentuk kolam, oval dan bulat, (2) Mengetahui faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi kecepatan gerak lumba-lumba sebelum dan saat berpentas. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara terhadap berbagai pihak yang terlibat langsung dalam pementasan lumba-lumba, studi pustaka dan pengukuran terhadap kolam lumba-lumba di Dolphins Centre dan The Sea Pantai Cahaya. Langkah selanjutnya adalah analisis dengan cara mengkomparasikan kecepatan gerak lumba-lumba di kedua bentuk kolam oval dan bulat, untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kecepatan geraknya. Setelah dianalisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat 3 faktor yang mempengaruhi kecepatan gerak lumba-lumba: 1) bentuk kolam mempengaruhi kecepatan gerak lumba-lumba dalam melakukan atraksinya, 2) suara music,  dan 3) waktu pentas. Hasil ini menjadi design guideline bagi perencana kolam  lumba-lumba untuk fungsi atraksi di taman rekreasi. Beberapa hal yang disarankan adalah pengoptimalan kolam bentuk oval, yang dilengkapi musik serta waktu pentas sebaiknya pada pukul 09.00 atau 11.00 WIB , yaitu waktu setelah pemberian sarapan pagi.

Abstract

Teachers? diagnostic practice on students-difficulties is one of the important steps in designing and managing classroom lessons. The purpose of this study was to explore teachers? perception and practices regarding diagnosing students? learning difficulties. The participants of the study were 28 Indonesian mathematics teachers of Junior High School. The data was collected through a Focus Group Discussion and a teacher questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively to describe how the teachers perceive learning difficulties and how the teachers diagnosed students? learning difficulties. The results of the analysis reveal that the teachers do not yet perform an in-depth diagnosis of students? difficulties in learning mathematics. The teachers only focus on the mathematics topics and non-mathematical issues, instead of on students? thinking process. The teachers also do not differentiate the diagnosis, evaluation, and prediction test. With regard to the strategies used by the teachers to diagnose students? difficulties, analyzing students? responses to tests was the majority. In this respect, observing students? learning process during classroom activities is rarely done by the teachers in the purpose of diagnosing students? learning difficulties. The results of the diagnosis are mainly used as the basis for remedial and drill and practices. The results imply that more support is needed for teachers to improve their competences particularly in diagnosing students? thinking process difficulties when learning mathematics.

Abstract

The idea of Microworld Logo brought new perspectives in education. It gives inspiration to develop and look deeply into the powerful ways in which computers and educational software might improve teaching-learning processes. However, the implementation of this Logo seems to be unsuccessful. This paper discusses and evaluates the implementation of Logo in classrooms’ context and discusses some obstacles in its implementation in classrooms so that teachers could get lesson from that. It considers the notion of Logo’s history and its preceding implementation to identify the problems on Logo’s implementation. This study shows that the failure of Logo implementation might be comes from the limitations of Logo itself, human and technical resources, and learning environments that are related with curriculum and schools policies.

Abstract

The rapid increase and availability of mathematics software, either for classroom or individual learning activities, presents a challenge for teachers. It has been argued that many products are limited in quality. Some of the more commonly used software products have been criticized for poor content, activities which fail to address some learning issues, poor graphics presentation, inadequate documentation, and other technical problems. The challenge for schools is to ensure that the educational software used in classrooms is appropriate and effective in supporting intended outcomes and goals. This paper aimed to develop instrument for evaluating mathematics educational software in order to help teachers in selecting the appropriate software. The instrument considers the notion of educational including content, teaching and learning skill, interaction, and feedback and error correction; and technical aspects of educational software including design, clarity, assessment and documentation, cost and hardware and software interdependence. The instrument use a checklist approach, the easier and effective methods in assessing the quality of educational software, thus the user needs to put tick in each criteria. The criteria in this instrument are adapted and extended from standard evaluation instrument in several references.   Keywords: mathematics educational software, educational aspect, technical aspect.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe arithmetic algorithm on transaction em­ployed by Blij h. The study was a qualitative approach by means of case study in Madurese community. The data were gathered through observation and interviews. The partisipants of this study were 8 Blij h living in Paiton, Probolinggo. The data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman model. The results of this study obtained some arithmatics algorithm of addition, subtraction, multipication, and division. This paper, however, will only focus on addition and subtraction algorithm. The data reveals that there are several differences in the algorithm used by Blij h and the one taught at school. The results of this study could be used as one of teaching and learning approach to develop numerical and mental calculation skills.

Abstract

Media edutainment merupakan media yang menggabungkan sisi edukasi dan hiburan secara harmonis yang dilengkapi dengan fasilitas audio, visual, dan animasi yang diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan semangat belajar siswa. Artikel ini mendiskusikan peran media edutainment dalam proses belajar siswa, dengan fokus kepada bagaimana tingkat ketertarikan dan keingintahuan dalam mempelajari materi matematika dengan menggunakan media berbasis Android. Data didapatkan menggunakan angket dan wawanara kepada 15 siswa SMP di Yogyakarta yang dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Data menunjukan bahwa media game edutainment yang dikembangkan dapat membantu siswa belajar matematika menjadi menarik dan membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu siswa baik terhadap materi yang dipelajari maupun terhadap game tersebut.

Abstract

This community service is aimed at introducing realistic mathematics learning approach in elementary school and training of teachers to develop creative and meaningful mathematics learning media with Islamic context. This activity takes the form of training to deepen the learning materials and develop the Islamic context in the learning of mathematics. The technical steps in this activity are explanation and discussion about the importance of paying attention to the childs cognitive development stage in implementing the learning to be meaningful for the students. The next stage is an explanation and discussion of realistic mathematics learning approaches and appropriate learning media that use meaningful daily context for students. Furthermore, a workshop was held to develop realistic learning media with an Islamic context. Based on the observation and discussion with the participants it can be concluded that the participants enthusiastically attend the training. Participants also identified and acquired new ideas to develop realistic elementary-based mathematics learning media with an Islamic context. Such media is expected to motivate students to learn mathematics because it uses approach and learning media meaningful for students.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Artikel ini membahas kepraktisan dan keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran matematika sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) berbasis teori van Hiele dan berorientasi pada penalaran spasial. Perangkat pembelajaran berupa rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dan lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS). Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Instrumen pengumpulan data terdiri dari lembar observasi keterlaksanaaan pembelajaran, lembar penilaian kepraktisan dari guru dan siswa, dan tes penalaran spasial. Subjek uji coba perangkat pembelajaran adalah 106 siswa dari tiga kelas di SMKN 2 Ngawi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika SMK menggunakan teori van Hiele berorientasi pada penalaran spasial praktis. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari respon guru dan siswa yang menyatakan bahwa perangkat dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Selain itu, perangkat yang dikembangkan juga efektif dilihat dari persentase ketuntasan kemampuan penalaran spasial siswa mencapai 82% setelah menggunakan perangkat pembejalaran yang dikembangkan. Perangkat ini dapat menunjang kemampuan penalaran siswa karena menyediakan ilustrasi gambar dan bidang kartesius untuk memfasilitasi siswa berpikir spasial. Kata kunci: Perangkat Pembelajaran; van Hiele; Penalaran Spasial [English]: This paper discusses the practicality and effectiveness of mathematics instructional package for vocational school based on van Hiele theory and oriented to spatial reasoning. The learning package was developed using ADDIE’s model. The research instruments consisted of observation sheet, practicality assessment sheets from teachers and students, and spatial reasoning test. The tryout involved 106 students from three classes in SMKN 2 Ngawi. The result of research showed that instructional package of vocational school based on van Hiele theory is practical to use as can be seen from the teacher's and students’ responses. The instructional package was also considered to be effective because 82% of students passed the spatial reasoning test. The package provided figures illustration and Cartesian model that could support students’ spatial thinking. Keywords: Instructional Package; van Hiele; Spatial Reasoning
