Abstract

Pulau Tikus adalah pulau karang yang terletak sekitar 90 mil dari pantai Kota Bengkulu ke arah Samudera Hindia. Kondisi terakhir menunjukkan Pulau Tikus mengalami degradasi terumbu karang yang sangat hebat. Berdasarkan hal ini, maka dilakukan kajian awal untuk menginventarisasi jenis-jenis ikan karang yang berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang di Pulau Tikus. Pengambilan data parameter fisika-kimia perairan dilakukan pada tiga stasiun yang dianggap mewakili kondisi lingkungan perairan Pulau Tikus. Data ikan karang diperoleh dengan metode sensus terhadap semua jenis ikan karang yang ditangkap. Identifikasi dilakukan di Kebun Biologi JPMIPA FKIP dengan mengacu pada beberapa buku panduan identifikasi ikan karang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kondisi perairan di sekitar Pulau Tikus dapat dikategorikan sebagai kondisi masih sangat baik. Pengecualian ditemukan pada parameter kecerahan yang sangat rendah pada perairan antara Pulau Tikus dengan Pesisir Kota Bengkulu. Ada 33 jenis dari 20 famili ikan karang yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. Dua dari 20 famili yang ditemukan yaitu Scorpaenidae dan Dasyatidae merupakan kelompok ikan berbisa tinggi (deathfull venomous fishes). Salah satu jenis dari famili Scorpaenidae, Pterois volitans merupakan komoditas ikan hias ekspor bernilai tinggi.

Abstract

The systematic of Kryptopterus has developed significantly. The latest research on Kryptopterus diversity in Batang Hari River was done on 2003. Environmental changes for the last seven years have a high possibility to change the variety composition. The aims of this research were to update the Kryptopterus data and to test the availability of specific way to identify a new Kryptopterus. Morphometric data was measured for 12 characters plus one character from calculation. Based on the 13 characters, the 13 morphometric indexes were calculated. The result shows that the variety of Kryptopterus, which still be found along Batanghari River, were K. limpok, K. micronema, K. kryptopterus, K. bicirrhis and K. apogon. The variety of Kryptopterus can be differentiated by morphometric index. K. limpok was identified by a higher body than other Kryptopterus and K. bicirrhis was identified by a thicker tail. AbstrakSistematika pada genus Kryptopterus berkembang sangat cepat. Penelitian terakhir tentang keragaman Kryptopterus di Sungai Batang Hari dilakukan tahun 2003. Perubahan kondisi lingkungan dalam rentang waktu tujuh tahun (2003-2010) diduga telah mengubah komposisi jenis-jenis Kryptopterus di daerah aliran Sungai Batang Hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan data terbaru anggota dari jenis-jenis Kryptopterus yang masih ditemukan di Sungai Batang Hari dan untuk menguji ada atau tidaknya indeks khusus penciri spesies dalam genus Kryptopterus. Data morfometrik diukur untuk 12 karakter dan ditambahkan satu karakter hasil penghitungan. Berdasarkan 13 karakter tersebut dihitung 13 indeks morfometrik. Hasil penelitian menemukan jenis Kryptopterus yang masih ditemukan di daerah aliran Sungai Batang Hari adalah K. limpok, K. micronema, K. kryptopterus, K. bicirrhis, dan K. apogon. Jenis-jenis Kryptopterus dapat dipisahkan berdasarkan indeks morfometrik. K. limpok dicirikan dengan tubuh yang lebih tinggi dibanding anggota Kryptopterus lainnya. K. bicirrhis dicirikan dengan ekor yang lebih tebal (tinggi).

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the variation on morphometric and cytochrome b (cyt b) DNA mitocondria gene of Ompok hypopthalmusin Batang Hari river. Cyt b DNA mitocondria gene was amplified by polymerase chain reactionand targeted1104bp nucleotids. The results show there is no significant differentiation on morphometric structure of the samples. This result is consistent for both of morphometric (p=0.96) and index (p=0.99). Amplification of cyt b DNA mitocondria gene generates927 bp nucleotids with cytosin as the majour component and guanin as the lowest. Only one nucleotide(0.11%) is vary among all the sequences i.e.883thof the partial cyt b gene. The 883th nucleotidein O. hypopthalmus Simpang and Sungai Bengkal is guanin, while inMandiangin dan Pelayangan is adenin. This subtitution occured on the first codon and changed the 295th putative amino acid ofcyt b gene. The putative amino acid in O. hypopthalmus Simpang-Sungai Bengkal is alanina (GCC), while inMandiangin-Pelayangan is treonina (ACC).

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the impact of motivation and perception of the society on the quality of education in Enggano island: one of the 111 outermost islands in Indonesia. Despite lacking of supporting facilities is still a main problem of education in Enggano, non-physics (motivation and perception) data are expected to provide alternative solution. Data in this research was collected by using semi-open questionnares to all qualified respondents. 579 quetionnaires in total were fulfilled by six categories of respondents: the students of elementary-, junior- and senior high school, teachers, parents, and the village leaders. Our results show that the motivation of students in Enggano is sufficiently high: 78 out of 100, while the perception of parents and teachers to education is on the medium level: 65 out of 100. The village leaders have graded the quality of education in Enggano on 5.6+0.17 out of 10. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik yang dilakukan secara kelompok berdasarkan kemampuan siswa dalam mengerjakan atau menjawab bahan diskusi pada LKPD. Penelitian dilakukan dengan 3 tahap yaitu 1). Validasi berupa analisis kebutuhan pengembangan materi IPA Biologi berdasarkan kurikulum 13 dan lingkungan sekitar; 2). Pengembangan desain LKPD berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan; dan 3). Uji coba terbatas LKPD pada peserta didik. Subjek penelitian ini sebanyak 30 peserta didk kelas VIIA  Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Negeri 17 Bengkulu Tengah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar instrumen validasi untuk mengetahui kelayakan LKPD dari ahli dan bahan ajar LKPD untuk mengukur pemahaman siswa. Berdasarkan hasil validasi, LKPD yang disusun sangat layak digunakan dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 85%. Uji coba skala terbatas menunjukkan bahwa LKPD ini efektif secara kelompok dengan nilai tertinggi sebesar 90% yang terletak pada level menyimpulkan. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dan uji coba tersebut, LKPD yang dikembangkan ini layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar materi keanekaragaman makhluk hidup kelas VII SMP.

Abstract

Learning activities require a conducive condition, including liberated of noise. This research aims to analyze the noisy level during learning activities in some lecture building of Universitas Bengkulu (UNIB). The data was collected through systematic purposive sampling and analyzed descriptively. The level of sound at UNIB lecture buildings (GKB) 1 until 5, I and J buildings was measured every five minutes during the interval 08.01 - 08.30, 08.31- 09.00, 10.01 - 10.30, 11.16 - 11.45 and 13.01 -  13.30 (local time) for a day sampling. The results show the sound intensity at UNIB lecture buildings ranges from 46.6 to 89.8 dBA, with most of the data (81%) were categorized as noisy, and above the threshold for education environment. The noise level was significantly different between buildings (X2=78.50, df=5, P<0.001) and between time interval (X2=79.09, df=29, P<0.001). The lowest average of noise was in J building i.e. 58.85 dBA + 1.30, while the highest was in GKB 5, 68.15 dBA + 0.87. Based on the time interval, the lowest average was at 13.01-13.30 i.e. 59.20 dBA + 1.45, while the highest at 10.01-10.30, 71.58 dbA + 1.86. This noise level was parallelly correlated with the estimation number of students using the building (F1,4=43.87, p < 0.001, R2=0.92), which indicated the main source for these noises are student activities. A high level of noise at UNIB lecture buildings need to be treated. A long term of noise can affect physiology and psychology of the students and reduce the effectivity of learning.
