Abstract

This research aims to analyze vegetables farming performance and vegetables farmer household welfare in North Dempo Sub-District, Pagar Alam City, South Sumatera Province. Location of the research was chosen purposively and the samples is determined by simple random sampling method. The number of the samples are 99 household and each consist of 33 chili, mustrad greens, and cabbage farmers with monoculture farming. Therefore, this research used survey method. The result of the research shows that vegetables farming performance in the research location has been not-good, with : (1) average productivity of chili, mustard greens, and cabbage farming being 6.080kg/ha, 7.813kg/ha, and 9.557kg/ha, respectively. (2) Production capacity of chili, mustrad greens, and cabbage are 30,40%, 31,25%, and 38,23%, respectively. (3) Household average income in hectare in every growing season for chili, mustrad green, and cabbage are Rp 49.906.113,36, Rp 5.279.915,26, and Rp 9.289.519,69, respectively. Mayority of vegetables farmers welfare based on Sayogyo Proverty Criteria (1997) are in sufficient criteria. Furthermore, 72,73% chili farmers are in sufficient criteria and the rest (27,27%) are in well criteria, 84,85% mustrad greens farmers are in sufficient criteria and the rest (15,15%) are in well criteria, 78,79% cabbage farmers are in sufficient criteria and the rest (21,21%) are in well criteria.Keywords: farmer welfare; farming performance; vegetables farming

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to analyze the business, the added-value, and employment of the tempeh agroindustry in Bandar Lampung. This study is in conducted in three production centers, i.e. Gunung Sulah, Sawah Brebes, and Kedamaian. Respondents were 60 randomly chosen tempeh home industry owners. The data were analyzed using financial analysis and the added-value analysis. The average net revenue over its cash cost was Rp9.45 million/month. The average net revenue over its total cost was Rp5.62 million/month. The average standard cost was Rp8,452/kg tempeh. The average added-value was Rp4,117/kg soybeans and its 95 percent confidence interval was Rp3,001-5,233/kg soybeans. In the three tempeh production centers, the number of people employed was 186.Key words : agroindustry tempeh, added value,business analysis, employment.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to analize the business, the added-value and employment of the tofu agroindustry in Bandar Lampung. This study was conducted in Gunung Sulah and Kedamaian villages which are the tofu production centers. The respondents are randomly chosen. The data are processed by using the financial analysis and the value-added analysis. There are two kinds of tofu, i.e the kopong tofu dan the cina tofu.  The average net revenues over the cash costs were Rp10.49 million/month of the kopong tofu and Rp12.10 million/month of the cina tofu.  The average net revenues over the total costs were Rp4.02 million/month of the kopong tofu and Rp5.17 million/month of the cina tofu.  The average standard costs were Rp16,949.97/kg of the kopong tofu and Rp9,206.70/kg of the cina tofu.The average added-value was Rp5,109.31/kg soybeans and its 95 percent confidence interval was Rp2,864.23-7,354.39/kg soybeans. Abstract

The obyective of  the study is to determine the economic structure of  Bandar Lampung city and to figure out the contribution of economic sector as well as their linkages in regional economic development.  The study employes I-O model to quantify overall economic structures in the region, including transaction of goods and services inter sectors, supply of goods and services inter economic sectors, demand of goods and services of all sectors, investment, consumption, and export-import. The study suggests that economic structure of Bandar Lampung city includes trades, hotel and restaurant service and services. All have contribution on the formation of Regional Gross Domestic Product of Bandar Lampung city. Sectors that have forward linkages are food industry, restaurant, hotels, and other services sectors.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to analyze the internal and external environment, the customers attitude, and the development strategy of agribusiness in PT Sayuran Siap Saji.  This research uses a case study method in PT Sayuran Siap Saji.  Respondents of this research are employee and customers of PT Sayuran Siap Saji, and Department of Agriculture and Forestry Bogor District and Department of Cooperative, UKM, Industry, and Trade Bogor District.  Data analysis method that used in this research are descriptive qualitative analysis (SWOT) and descriptive quantitative (analysis of customer attitudes).  The result of this research shows that: (1) the main strength of PT Sayuran Siap Saji is a good product quality, while the main weakness is the lack of promotion. The main opportunity of PT Sayuran Siap Saji is increasing number of restaurants that require fresh cut vegetable products, while the main threat is the customers switch to another company, (2) the biggest of customers attitude value to the attributes PT Sayuran Siap Saji is an on time delivery attribute, (3) the main priority strategy of PT Sayuran Siap Saji is manage a better management functions to affect the performance of the company, technology development, and customers loyalty. In addition, maintaining product quality in order to remain certified HACCP by using good raw materials, appropriate technology, the specialization of labor, and do a promotion activities. Keywords: customers attitude, development strategy, fresh cut vegetable

Abstract

The aims of this research are to analyze satisfaction level and loyalty of tauco’s  customers in Prabumulih.  The research was carried out in the inpres market, a traditional market in Prabumulih.  The research location was chosen deliberately (purposive). The number of interviewed respondents were 60 housewives which found in the market (accidental sampling).  The objective was answered by using customer satisfaction index analysis (CSI) and for customers loyalty was answered by using switcher buyer analysis, habitual buyer, satisfied buyer, liking the brand, and committed buyer. The research shows the following results, Tauco’s customers in Prabumulih are loyal customers with  high satisfaction level (CSI = 71,2%) and based on Tauco’s customers loyalty pyramid, switcher buyers are only 6,7%. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to compare: the allocation of land of cassava, the spending of  rice and food consumption patterns, between cassava farmers in the village of implementers and non-implementers of the MP3L (Model Pengembangan Pangan Pokok Lokal) Programme in South Lampung regency.  The research was conducted in Pancasila village and Negara Ratu village, Natar district, South Lampung regency. The number of respondents in the research is 44 people, consisting of 22 cassava farmers in the Pancasila village and 22 of cassava farmers in Negara Ratu village. Analysis method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive.  The results showed that: the allocation of land to plant cassava in Negara Ratu village is wider than in Pancasila village. The land allocation for planting cassava likely caused by the need of farmers to consume cassava and the guarantee of the markets. The average household rice spending at Pancasila village was Rp858,303.03 per capita per year, while the average household rice spending at Negara Ratu village was Rp1,044,121.77 per capita per year. Significant of that difference value was caused by the customs of households at Pancasila village to consume cassava by processing daily, excluding Beras Siger. The desirable food pattern (PPH) score of cassava farmers at Pancasila village (87.8) was higher than PPH score of cassava farmers at Negara Ratu village (80.5).  Reduction of rice has occurred at Pancasila village, but it was not caused by substitution of rice by Beras Siger. Abstract

This study aims to assess: business performance of coffee middlemen and exporters, coffee allocation and usage patterns total sales proceeds of coffee farmers, the economic benefit when farmers selling coffee to middlemen and exporters, and factors cause farmers decisions determine coffee sales. This research was conducted in two villages, Gunung Megang Village and Tekad Village in Pulau Panggung Subdistrict of Tanggamus Regency.  The method of analysis used in this study is an instrument test (validity and reliability), perception (qualitative description), Willingnes to Pay method (WTP), and multinomial logit regression which two models.  The research samples were chosen by propotional simple random sampling from four farmer groups of two villages.  The results showed that from each of the 65 respondents coffee farmers assessed both of the exporter and middlemen with score 87.7 percent and 75.4 percent.  It  meant that farmers assessed both exporters and middlemen as the sale of coffee, but more respondents rate the better exporters as evidenced by the value of perceptions. Allocation of coffee farmers production obtained from 65 samples showed that 31 farmers (47.69%) sold most of his coffee to middlemen, 12 farmers (18.46%) equally, and 22 farmers (33.85%) sold most of his coffee to the exporter with an average amount of coffee to middlemen at 565.98 kg and 509.83 kg to exporters from total average production of 1108 kg per farmer and the use pattern result was used for subsistence in daily.  Economic benefits obtained when farmers sell to middlemen was Rp212,779.65 per farmer and the exporter was Rp158,367.49 per farmer. Factors affecting farmers decision for determining the portion of sales seen from Likelihood Ratio (LR) indicated that all variables were significant simultaneously, while the individual testing for both logit model logit 1 showed the significant variables were education (X2), and  the logit 2 significant variables were education (X2) and experience (X3). Abstract

Tomato is one of the considerable potential agricultural products to be developed and cultivated because it has a high nutrition.  In addition to its nutrients that are beneficial to health; tomatoes also provide some benefits to consumers, producers, and society.  However, the fluctuative price of tomatoes at the producer level could affect the income received by farmers that arouse revenue risk.  Therefore, it is necessary to study the farmers’ income and the level of tomato farm risk.  The research was conducted in Argopeni Region Sumberejo Subdistrict of Tanggamus Regency. This location was chosen purposively.  This research used a survey method in which 56 samples of this research were drawn by a simple random sampling.  The analysis tool used for farmers’ income was R/C ratio; while the level of revenue risk was analyzed by calculating the variance, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. The research result showed that the value of R/C ratio was 3.03, it meant that the farming was profitable and viable.  Meanwhile, based on the value of the coefficient variation that was 0.86, it showed that there was magnitude of risk faced by farmers and the lower earnings limit of tomato farm was Rp -5.985.235.  This showed the amount loss that may be faced by the farmers if there were harm or risk.
