Abstract

Memahami gaya pedalangan Sunda pada dasarnya adalah sebuah upaya penjelajahan dan pemetaan jagatpedalangan Sunda yang kaya dengan nilai-nilai tradisi dan permasalahan-permasalahan uniknya. Salah satunyaadalah permasalahan gaya pedalangan yang identik dengan keberadaan paguron-paguron dalang dengan tokohtokohdalang yang mencirikan warna paguronnya masing-masing. Berkaitan dengan gaya pedalangan itulah, maka pada akhirnya mucul bentuk gaya mendalang perseorangan yang lazim disebut gaya mandiri. Penelitian ini membahas berbagai gaya mandiri yang berkembang di wilayah Jawa Barat.Kata Kunci: wayang golek, gaya pedalangan, paguron dalangABSTRACTSundanese Puppetry Style. Understanding Sundanese puppetry style is basically venturing and mapping Sundanesepuppetry world which is rich of traditional values and distinctive problems. One of the problems is related to puppetrystyle in which the puppet masters are characterized by their mainstream or school. Such style has later developed intoindependent styles of Sundanese puppetry. This research discusses various independent styles of Sundanese puppetry.Key words: Sundanese wayang, wodden puppet

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis paper is a part (portion) of one topic of dissertation research by the author as a preparation for the final exams of doctoral program. The focus of the study in this paper is directed to study aspects of the aesthetic values of the elements contained in the puppet show as a puppeteer working area in performing his style. The aesthetic analytical theory which is used in this study is the concept of "Nyari" that may indicate the value or aesthetic qualities of an art work. The aesthetic reality that can be found in the form of a working of a puppet show as the result of the puppeteer creative manner, indicates the wealth of traditional values as a priceless source of artistic inspiration for the artists-creators.Keywords: Wayang Golek, concept of “Nyari”, performance working ABSTRAKTulisan ini merupakan sempalan (bagian) dari salah satu topik bahasan hasil penelitian disertasi yang penulis lakukan sebagai bahan persiapan menempuh ujian akhir program doktor. Fokus pengkajian pada tulisan ini diarahkan kepada aspek penelaahan nilai-nilai estetik yang terdapat pada unsur-unsur pertunjukan wayang golek sebagai aspek wilayah garap dalang dalam menyajikan gaya pertunjukannya. Pisau bedah analisis estetik yang dijadikan pemberangkatan pada pengkajian ini adalah konsep “nyari” yang dapat menunjukkan nilai atau kualitas estetik dari sebuah karya seni. Realitas estetik yang dapat dijumpai pada bentuk garap pertunjukan wayang hasil dari olah kreatif seorang dalang tersebut, mengindikasikan kekayaan nilai-nilai tradisi sebagai sumber inspirasi berkesenian bagi para seniman-kreator yang tak ternilaikan keberadaannya.Kata kunci: wayang golek, konsep “nyari”, dan garap pertunjukan

Abstract

Kayon is a shadow puppet character who symbolizes the world. In the Java world, there are two types of world concepts, namely the jagad ageng and the jagad alit. This study aims to examine the concepts of jagad ageng and jagad alit which are symbolized by the traditional kayons in purwa shadow puppets. The focus of this research study is to reveal the existence of Kayon Blumbangan and Kayon Gapuran as traditional kayons that have world essence, namely the jagad ageng and the jagad alit. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the existence and essence of Kayon Blumbangan and Kayon Gapuran as traditional kayons that store the concepts of jagad ageng and jagad alit. The method used in this research is iconography. Form theory which is divided into fields and ornament will become the main scalpel in analyzing the existence of Kayon Blumbangan and Kayon Gapuran. This research results that Kayon Blumbangan and Kayon Gapuran have the same shape structure with different widths of fields. The ornamental elements that form the kayon of the two traditional kayon are basically the same, namely forming four elements, including fire, water, wind, and earth. The four elements are the elements that make up the jagad ageng and the jagad alit. So, Kayon Blumbangan and Kayon Gapuran have a symbol of cosmological concepts regarding the concepts of jagad ageng and jagad alit.

Abstract

This article discusses about the development of puppety recently (2008) which based on an observation, it tends to develop forwards entertaining form as commercial commodities. The problem will be analyzed with Raymon William theory about 3 cultural powers is one historical period. From the analysis, it can be found that pupperty art can influence society and on the contary, pakeliran can be influenced by any changes in society. Nowadays, wayang performance anticipates social changes.Mean while pakeliran also change along with the changer in society. Keyword : development, social culture, wayang
