Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bias item tes keterampilan proses sains pola divergen dan modifikasinya sebagai tes kreativitas biologi SMA untuk assessment for learning. Penelitian menggunakan intrumen keterampilan proses sains pola divergen untuk biologi SMA (Bambang Subali, 2009). Dua dari enam instrumen pengukur keterampilan proses sains tersebut dimodifikasi menjadi instrumen pengukur kreativitas keterampilan proses sains dan diujikan pada 1095 peserta didik. Penskoran dalam skala politomus dan dianalisis menurut Partial Credit Model 1-PL dengan program QUEST. Analisis bias didasarkan faktor gender, lokasi, dan jenjang kelas. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan, dengan kriteria mean INFIT MNSQ  1,0 ± 0,0 tes fit dengan model. Berdasarkan kriteria batas INFIT MNSQ 0,77 - 1,30 seluruh item fit dengan model. Hasil penyelidikan bias ternyata sebagian item bias, baik dari segi gender, lokasi, atau jenjang kelas. Abstract

This article discusses the construct validity of the creative thinking skill instrument supporting a conation idea aspect for biology student-teachers in the subject of Human Physiology. Two hundred and eighteen students participated in this study. Construct validity was obtained through Confirmatory Factor Analysis technique  (CFA). Reliability was estimated by composite reliability. Findings show that the construct validity and the reliability of the instrument are high. A thorough discussion on the findings and future implications are provided towards the end of this paper.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui seberapa jauh pengembangan kreativitas keterampilan proses sains dalam aspek kehidupan organisme melalui IPA di SD di DIY. Pengumpulan data melalui survei dengan teknik sampel gugus setelah ditetapkan Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Dinas Pendidikan yang mewakili wilayah perkotaan dan pinggiran. Hasil survei terhadap 400 guru kelas IV dan V serta 1200 grup peserta didik dari 10 UPT di lima kabupaten/kota di DIY menunjukkan hampir semua guru menyatakan pentingnya pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan kreativitas keterampilan proses sains dalam aspek kehidupan kepada peserta didik. Mereka hampir tidak pernah atau jarang membelajarkannya tanpa disertai pemberian contoh. Umumnya mereka sering melakukannya dengan disertai pemberian contoh. Tidak ada guru yang melaporkan pernah mengikuti diklat pengembangan kreativitas. Kata Kunci: kreativitas, keterampilan proses sains, pembelajaran, aktivitas kehidupan DEVELOPING CREATIVITY OF THE SCIENCE PROCESS SKILL IN THE ORGANISM LIFE ASPECT IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCIENCE Abstract: This research is aimed to know how far the development of creativity of science process skills in the life aspect through the science subject in elementary schools in DIY. The data were collected through a survey by employing a group sampling technique after the areas had been determined by the Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) of the education office which represented the city and suburb areas. The results of the survey which involved 400 elementary school teachers of grades IV and V as well as 1200 students from 10 UPT of 5 different regencies/municipalities in DIY show that almost all teachers stated the importance of developing creativity of the science process skill in the life aspect for the students. They hardly ever or seldom taught without giving examples. They often taught by giving examples. There was no teacher who stated that they had ever joined a training to develop the students’ creativity. Keywords: creativity, science process skill, learning activity, the life aspect

Abstract

This study was aimed at developing two sets of kinematics experiment namely free fall motion and microcontroller based projectil motion. This study used an R & D research design that involves descriptive and evaluative methods. This research was conducted at the Physics Laboratory of Semarang State University and the Science Laboratory Semarang. The stages of this research included design design, tool making, tool validity testing, data retrieval and data processing. Validity test was done to validate the feasibility of the tool by an expert in physics and tested to physics students. A limited scale test and a large scale test were also be done in this study.These tests were conducted to determine the level of readability of the tool and the level of appropriateness of the equipment. This study produced a microcontroller-based experimental set that was feasible for free fall motion and projectile motion experiments. Time measurement results by the kinematics experiment set for free fall motion and projectile motion obtained a better level of accuracy than the previous tool that is equal to 98.30% and has an accuracy level of 99.99%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan motivasi, hasil belajar kognitif, hasil belajar afektif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan media komik. Penelitian dilakukan lewat quasi experiment dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah 57 peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 1 Banjarnegara. Media komik digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA selama 6 kali tatap muka. Data motivasi dan hasil belajar afektif diperoleh lewat angket dan observasi, sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif lewat pretes dan postes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media komik di dalam pembelajaran IPA mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik dengan nilai gain skor sebesar 0,55 (sedang); hasil belajar ranah kognitif dengan gain skor sebesar 0,42 (sedang); dan meningkatkan hasil belajar ranah afektif dengan gain skor sebesar 0,34 (sedang). Hasil uji beda antara sebelum dan setelah perlakuan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan baik yang menyangkut motivasi belajar, hasil belajar ranah kognitif, maupun hasil belajar ranah afektif. Kata Kunci: media komik, pembelajaran IPA, motivasi, hasil belajar kognititf, hasil belajar afektifTHE USE OF COMIC MEDIA IN SCIENCE INSTRUCTION TO IMPROVE MOTIVATION AND COGNITIVE AND AFFECTIVE ACHIEVEMENT Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the improvement of students’ motivation, cognitive and affective learning achievement in science instruction using comic media. The study was carried out using the quasi experiment with the one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 57 seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Banjarnegara.Comic media were used in science instruction for six times. The data on motivation and affective learning achievement were obtained through questionnaires and observation, while the cognitive learning achievement was obtained through the pretest and posttest. The findings of the study showed that the use of the comic media in the science instruction could improve the students’ motivation with a gain score of 0.55; improve the cognitive learning achievement with a gain score of 0.42; and improve the affective learning achievement with a gain score of 0.34. There was a significant difference in the students’ motivation, cognitive learning achievement, and affective learning achievement before and after the treatment. Abstract

The objective of this researchis to evaluate of the quality of internationalstandard schools (in Indonesia called SB/) and national standard schools (SSN) ofsenior high schools compared to other senior high schools categorized as neitherSBI nor SSN located in'Klaten. The evaluation focused on goal-oriented evaluationof thetwo issues: (1) teachers' attempts to deal with student-centred teaching andlearning activities and .(2) teachers' attempts to encourage their students to learn.This researchwas conducted at SMAN 1 Klaten (SB1), SMA 2 Klaten (SSN),SMANJogart~lan andSMAN Prambanan, which is neither SBI nor SSN. To obt~in thedata, two sets of questionnaires were administered.'To triangulate and to slipportdata collection, interviews with,the principals of, the four schools were cOl}ducted.'To satisfy the validity and the reliability of the interpretation of data, theinstruments,'weredeveloped.on the basis of blueprints and empirically analyzepusing QUEST. The obtaiRed data were analyzed with a descriptive analysis. Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality figures of 21st century-based multi-representation assessments on linear motion material. Type of this research is Research & Development (R&D). Data were analyzed using an assessment validity test by an expert and empirical assessment quality test to obtain quality figures in the form of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discrimination power. The results of the preliminary field testing analysis showed 58.33% items were declared valid and 41.67% items were declared invalid. Test items have very high reliability with a value of 0.877. The proportion of the level of difficulty is not ideal, that is equal to 58.33% of questions categorized as difficult and 41.67% of questions categorized as sufficient. The discrimination power of the questions is 8.34% of the questions in a good category, 22.22% are sufficient, 58.33% are bad, and 11.11% are very bad. The result of main field testing, 69.44% items were declared valid and 30.56% items were declared invalid. Test items have high reliability with a value of 0.879. The proportion of the level of difficulty obtained in the main field testing is also not ideal, which is 56% of the difficult category and 44% of the sufficient category. The discrimination power consist of 32% good, 40% were sufficient, and 28% were poor.

Abstract

The ibM community service aims at training the MGMP teachers ofbiology & indonesian language subject in yogyakarta municipality and slemanregency in order to have ability to develop test which is composed of divergentand convergent test items. Also, the teachers are able to perform qualitative andquantitative analysis to the developed items.  To meet the targets, this community service was conducted using lecturing;questioning and answering; and practicing techniques. With regard tothis,the practicing technique include: (1) writing test items, (2) performing deepunderstanding to the quality of test items qualitatively, and (3) analyzing itemsusing Quest program.Then,the researches guided the teachers throgh email todevelop a test which were used in their schools. The last activity was analysingtheir data using Quest program. The findings of this activity, the teachers had succesfully produced ablue print and a set of sample items  both divergent and convergent model andit was review between the participants. After each participants conducted of thetest administration on each school, the result of the Quest analysis showed thatsome items of the test was conducted by 21 MGMP teachers of biology subject& 16 MGMP teachers of indonesian language subject didn”t fit with the partialcredit model. That is because not all teachers are able to develop a good itemaand also the minimum of samples was tested by politomus scale items. As aresult, estimates do not achieve the expected results

Abstract

The validity and reliability of measuring instruments determine their quality. the implementation of ehe competency-based curriculum at schools has caused basic problems to solve concerning requirements to be fulfilled related to the validity and reliabilitu of such instruments. This article to discuss the fulfillment of the requirements concerning the validitu and reliability of tests usend to measure learning achievement in educational research, or, for the interest of education of the competency-based curriculum.
