Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis subak yang sarat dengan nilai tradisional, tetapi menerima ide modern, dan (2) menganalisis implementasinya di lapang, bahwa subak memadukan nilai tradisional dan modern dalam membudidayakan tanaman pangan di sawah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut. (1) Subak sarat dengan nilai tradisional, tetapi menerima nilai modern. Hal ini terjadi karena subak bersifat luwes atau supel dan dinamik dalam mengadopsi nilai-nilai modern. (2) Subak memadukan nilai tradisional dan modern tampak pada penerapan Nangluk Merana (nilai tradisional) dan penerapan Pengelolaan Hama Terpadu (nilai modern) dalam pengendalian hama terpadu pada budidaya tanaman padi sawah.

Abstract

The role of social capital in the Werdi Gopala Farmer Group has not been maximally carried out in developing the network of plant formalin marketing, so it needs to be studied by using trust, social network, social norm, and cooperation. The purpose was to determine the role of social capital in building a marketing network of formalin of lamtoro plant and to find out the obstacles encountered in plant formalin market. This research was conducted in the Pucaksari Village, Busungbiu Sub-District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The findings showed that the role of social capital in establishing farmer group-based marketing network of plant formalin in the case of Werdi Gopala Farmer Group of Pucaksari Village is classified in the medium category. The role of each indicator of social capital is the role of trust classified in good category. The role of social networks is categorized very poor. The role of social norms is classified as moderate category. The role of cooperation is classified as moderate category. The main obstacle faced by the farmer group in marketing plant formalin is technical aspect which covers condition of equipment that is not productive. The second constraint is from the economic aspect which includes the lack of capital to purchase the equipment used to produce plant formalin, and the absence of plant formalin marketing from the farmer group. Suggestions that can be given is that by improving social network by coaching farmer group to use printed media and social media to market formalin plant assisted by the agricultural extension or students in their community service in Pucaksari Village, increasing cooperation with company in agriculture, adding equipments to produce formalin plant and increasing the capital by submitting a proposal to the government to get equipments or capital aids.

Abstract

Subak of Jatiluwih Interaction with Tourism Jatiluwih is well known as a world-recognized agricultural and tourism area. Thiscondition reflects a good interaction between agriculture which in this case isrepresented by subak/organization of irrigation with tourism i.e. is represented bytourism actors. Data collection in the field shows different conditions, namely thefinding of land conversion and job transformation from subak members. Both ofthese conditions indicate an interaction between subak and tourism actors. Thepurpose of the study discusses the form of interaction between subak with tourism inJatiluwih, and the impact of interaction on the existence of subak. The analyticalmethod used to discuss the research problem is descriptive qualitative analysis.Qualitative descriptions are applied to information provided by the subak membersand tourism stakeholders. The findings showed that associative interaction was moreprominent than the dissociative interaction. Cooperation of Subak Jatiluwih withtourism in the permission of utilizing the subak area for the agency management ofJatiluwih Tourism Destination Area is meant to be the generator income because ofits natural beauty. In contrast, Subak Jatiluwih needs for compensation for anydamages to rice field and fund for religious ceremony of subak, namely theceremony of Ngusaba Ayu and fund for cleaning the subak irrigation channel. Thedissociative interaction can still be declared low because it can still be wellanticipated. Suggestions that can be given that the contribution to the subak need tobe considered for the subak given a more feasible contribution because it isconsidered so far not meet the feasible criteria.

Abstract

Implementation of the Six Functions of Subak in the Urban Areas (The Case of Subak Padanggalak in East Denpasar District, City of Denpasar)With the rapid development of time, the existence of Subak is increasingly threatened due to the transfer of wetland function in urban areas where there are developments outside the agricultural sector. This research was conducted at Padanggalak Subak, East Denpasar District, City of Denpasar. The aim of this study was to determine the implementation of the six functions of Subak seen from (1) the activities of religious ceremonies, (2) the search and distribution of irrigation water, (3) the operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, (4) resources mobilization, (5) the handling of conflicts, and (6) adoption of innovations. This research used descriptive qualitative data. The results showed that the implementation of the six functions of Subak in Padanggalak had been duly made. The implementation was conducted in the religious ceremony activities performed consistently, sharing and distribution of irrigation water which was conducted in a fair way, operation and maintenance of irrigation networks, and the mobilization of resources done by means of mutual cooperation and assistance from the government, conflict handling was done amicably, and the adoption of innovations had been applied in Subak Padanggalak. It is suggested the implementation of the six functions of Subak should be maintained and even optimized to achieve a more optimal goal.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Consumers? Perception toward Organic and Inorganic Rice at Satvika Boga Shop in Sanur Denpasar The objective of this research is to know the consumers? perception level toward organic and inorganic rice and to know the consumers? perception differences toward organic and inorganic rice. The research is descriptive by nature. Primary data was obtained from direct observation in the field and interview using questionnaire, meanwhile secondary data was obtained from the agencies/institutions. Previously the data that was obtained from the respondents was analyzed beforehand using validity and reliability tests. In this research using qualitative descriptive analysis method with Likert scale, descriptive statistic analysis, and nonparametric differentiation test analysis with Wilcoxon method. Respondents? perception toward organic and inorganic rice equally included in good category with different score achievement, that is 81,86% for organic rice and 71,55% for inorganic rice. There is an obvious difference of respondents? perception between organic and inorganic rice. It is can be seen from the statistic analysis result which shows Z value at -4,799 with the Asymp. Sig at 0,000 . The shop owner is expected to be always able to maintain the quality of organic rice, the government should provide the subsidy for organic rice and the farmers need the assistances from the related agencies (agricultural instructors) in the case of pesticide usage reduction and chemical fertilizer and consumers should be more careful to select the appropriate rice either from the hygienic and quality aspects. Abstract

The Behavior of Farmers toward Animal Feed Processing Technology of Rice Straw Fermentation (A Case at Simantri 222 of Farmers? Group of Sriasih in Pohsanten Village, SubDistrict of Mendoyo, Regency of Jembrana.)By the development of the agricultural sector in the Province of Bali, the Bali Provincial Government has implemented an integrated agriculture system, better known as Simantri whose aim is to support the development of farming in an integrated manner to the local potentials by increasing incomes as one of the supporting government programs to reduce poverty, integrating farming crops and cattle, and initiating the development of integrated sustainable agriculture in order to increase revenue. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of farmers? behavior in Simantri 222 towards the development of fermented animal feed processing technology. The scope of this research was the study of the behavior (knowledge, attitudes, skills) of farmers toward the fermented feed processing technologies implemented by the members of Simantri 222 of farmers? group of Sriasih of Pohsanten Village, Mendoyo Sub-District of Jembrana Regency. This study used qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the behavior of members of Simantri on the fermented animal feed processing technologies found at Simantri 222 was classified as good category, with the score of knowledge of 3.93, while the score of attitude of 3.97 and the score of application of 4.16. Of the three components of behaviors (knowledge, attitude, and skills), it can be concluded that the behavior of farmers was classified as good category, by score of 4.02. For improving the behavior of members Simantri 222 of fermented animal feed processing, to be very well expected that extension can provide re-training in order for members to better understand the technology Simantri given.

Abstract

Leadership Dynamics of CV. Dwi Jaya?s Director in Sanggalangit Village, Sub- District of Gerokgak, Buleleng Regency The success of a company is influenced by the success of its employees. Employee success is influenced by the leadership dynamics of the director. CV Dwi Jayaagribusiness company is one of the companies engaged in the sale of fish seeds in the Sanggalangit Village of Gerokgak Sub-District, Buleleng Regency. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of leadership dynamics of the director and to investigate the levels of the three elements of leadership dynamics of directors in the company of cultivation and sale of fish seeds in CV Dwi Jaya. Descriptive analysis method was used to answer the purpose of the research. Effective human relations, decision-making process and control in leadership are the three variables in leadership dynamics that become the reference in this research.The result of descriptive analysis of leadership dynamics of director of CV Dwi Jaya is classified into a very good category with achievement score of 4.41. This can be seen from the three variables of leadership dynamics. Effective human relationship is categorized as very good with 4.45 achievement score, decision making process is very good with the score of 4.34 and leadership control is quite good with 4.41 score.

Abstract

Implementation Evaluation of food Barn Communities Program in Subak Seronggo, Pangkungkarung Village, Sub District Kerambitan, Tabanan RegencyThe economic crisis in 1998 has affected the national food security in household sphere. Food security is the strength of a nation to maintain the stability of national food and thus, the government established a program focuses on maintaining the stability of national food security using food barn communities program. Each program developed by the government needs someone to evaluate it so there will be indicator of the program success. The purpose of the research is finding out the food barn program evaluation in Subak Seronggo. This research was conducted in Subak Seronggo, Pangkungkarung Village, Sub District Kerambitan, Tabanan Regency. The population of Subak Seronggo is 100 people. The determination of samples uses simple random sampling. Respondent were drawn by 50 people. The result is showed on the growth phase that the government gives the requirement used to run the food barns program. The development phase can be categorized as a good achievement with score (3,71), the autonomy phase can be categorized in medium level of achievements with score (3,33). The result is in good level of achievements with score (3,98). Based on the result, the food mow in the Subak Seronggo is categorized as good, it is because the members manage and utilize the aid using the agreement that formed according to the group deals so that the social discrepancy in the group can be avoided.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan peranan (hak dan kewajiban) wanita dalam pembangunan yang berwawasan gender. Pembangunan berwawasan gender dimaksudkan untuk mewujudkan kemitrasejajaran yang harmonis antara pria dengan wanita atau mewujudkan kesetaraan dan keadilan gender dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan dan pembangunan.Pengarusutamaan gender merupakan strategi yang tepat untuk mempercepat terwujudnya kesetaraan dan keadilan gender tersebut.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk sekadar memberikan pemahaman tentang ketimpangan dan peran gender yang telah terjadi di bidang politik (lembaga legislatif dan eksekutif) di Indonesia dan Bali. Data yang berhasil dihimpun menunjukkan, bahwa terjadi ketimpangan gender yang mencolok dalam arti wanita jauh tertinggal dari pada pria di bidang politik (lembaga legislatif dan eksekutif), baik di tingkat nasional, provinsi Bali maupun di tingkat kabupaten/kota di Bali. Ketimpangan gender yang menonjol tersebut, membawa implikasi yang khas berkenaan dengan peranan wanita yang jauh lebih rendah dari pada peranan pria di bidang politik.
