Abstract

Hypertension of elderly is a systolic pressure that is equal or more than 140 mmHg and/or diastolic pressure that is equal or more than 90 mmHg. One of hypertension managements is without drug where the result is more than just only overcoming this disease but also prevent stroke and heart attack. By relaxed meditation technique whole body will rest, physical will rest, mental will rest, and improve the blood circulation to muscles so that the muscles tend to relax and the blood pressure may reduce. This study on an elderly integrated services post (Posyandu) in the region founded by Emanuel hospital at Kaliwinasuh Village Klampok subdistrict Banjarnegara Regency, from November to December 2006, aimed to fiond out the effect of relaxed meditation therapy on reduction of elderly blood pressure with hypertension. This was a pre-experimental study without control group with a one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling method used was total sampling. Respondent of this study was 30 elderly people suffering hypertension. Data collecting tool was a questionnaire (Indriyani, 2005), and observation was collected by measuring blood pressure before and after relaxed meditation. The results showed that that systolic blood pressure on the statistical test indicated that P = 0.000 (P<0.05) meaning that H-a was accepted or systolic blood pressure between before and after relaxed meditation can be reduced significantly in amount of 7.67 mmHg. While diastolic blood pressure on the statistical test showed P = 0.161 (P>0.05) meaning that H-a was rejected or diastolic blood pressure between before and after relaxed meditation cannot be reduced significantly. Result of the study showed that there is an effect of relaxed meditation on reduction of systolic blood pressure, however it needs a further study about this effect by using control group as comparative, or other variables such as religion, marital status, socioeconomic level.

Abstract

Kata kunci: bekatul organik, oil ektraction, makanan kesehatanAbstractRice mills will produce rice (57-60%), husk (18-20%), and rice bran (8-10%), from bran obtained rice bran (Oryza Sativa L). Bran generally contains; protein (11.5% -17.2%), lipids (10-23%), carbohydrates reach (51.1% -55%), ash (8% - 17.7%), crude fiber (6.2 % -31.5%), minerals and vitamins. Processing bran into high economic value food has become a strategic process, because contains of high nutritional content and can be used as a therapy for various acute diseases. The use of rice bran in most farmers is actually used as animal feed, without realizing that the greatest nutritional content lies in the bran / ricebran. In other studies it was proven that bran has the potential as a food ingredient and is used as a therapeutic medium for various diseases, so that bran is not only a potential substitute for staple food but can also be used as an herbal medicine / health therapy. The unorganized organic farmer group said that purbalingga had not processed all of its products into superior products, still selling rice as the main product, the derivative product in the form of bran had not been used as an alternative to supplement income. Organic farmer groups do not have joint management in selling their products, the technology they have for rice and bran milling, does not know the potential of rice bran to be a high-economic value functional food. In the bran oven process the temperature and time affect the level of dryness of bran and resistance to musty odor. Training on the use of appropriate technology especially extruder The optimal temperature of heating (oven) 120 oC, with 30 minutes, bran has a low water content below 5%. The level of refinement of bran flour affects the solubility in making bran drinks. Training in business management, marketing strategies, and knowledge of accessing venture capital opens up new insights and motivates business development, as well as obtaining venture capital.

Abstract

Physalis sp. has lots of merits as a kind of traditional medicine and one of them is its function as an alternatif treatment for diarrhea. Physalis minima leaf contains alkoloid atropine which is assumed can inhibit the contractionof guinea pig?s isolated ileum smooth muscle. This research was to know the effect of Physalis minima leaf extract toward the contraction of small intestine smooth muscle. This research was  an experimental study using ?The Post Control GroupDesign?, and guinea pig?s isolated ileum as samples. The samples  consisted of five guinea pigs, each sample was given four kinds of treatment. The control was given metacholine at the  dose of 10 -5 without Physalis minima leaf extract. Before givingmetacholine at the dose of 10 -5 , the samples were given the first dosage of Physalis minima leaf extract (0.15%), the second dose (0.30%) and the third dose (0.45%) so getting four graphs for each sample. The level of contraction was recorded by using kymograph. The result showed that  the ileum contraction of the third group was inhibited (One Way ANOVA, p=0.041), and there was a relation between the increasing dosage of Physalis minima leaf extract and the decreasing ileum contraction (simple linear regression, with R=-0.608 p=0.04 and regression equation y=52.150 ? 7.660x).
