Abstract

Community dependence on private transportation modes is a major factor in congestion in Banda Aceh. For this reason, the Aceh government implemented the operation policy of Trans Koetaradja to reduce the impact of congestion. Community perception is one of the important aspects in policy making, because by involving the community, decision makers will be able to capture the views, needs and expectations of the community. The purpose of this study is to examine public perceptions of the Trans Koetaradja policy as a case study at 2 (two) corridors, City Center - Mata Ie and City Center - Ajun - Lhoknga. The data collection method used was Stated Preference (SP) with a total of 220 respondents by stratified random sampling. The SP questionnaire contains information about socio-economic, travel behavior, and respondents' perceptions. The result of perception showed that all psychological questions had a good value above 2.5 (average) which was 2.81 (70.20%) from the reference of the 1-4 Likert scale with the indicator with the highest level of acceptance of 3.32 that was a private vehicle needed in everyday life. Data processing and analysis used the Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes (MIMIC) model which was one of the branches of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the regression parameters calibrated using Lisrel 9.3 software to produce a measurement model that was the perception of "personal mode dependence (t-value, 5.13)", whereas in the structural model produced five multiple regression equations with the most significant factor affecting each latent variable was "education".

Abstract

Cause of occurrence damage and decrease of road pavement strength is low strength and durability in a mixed layer (AC-WC). To overcome this problem, it is necessary to improve the quality of  road pavement in aggregate, filler, and asphalt composition. Filler serves to isolate the cavities between the aggregate particles so as to increase the density of the mixture. In general, the filler of stone ash has been used. However, it is important to find for other alternative materials which utilizing waste materials such as dregs of bagasse. The content of silica (SiO2) in ashes of bagasse is very high, 42.47%, thus it is expected to improve the quality of asphalt mixture. This study aims to determine the effect of using ashes of bagasse over the characteristics of mixed laston layer (AC-WC) with the addition of bagasse ash from 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. This study refers to the 2010 Bina Marga Specification Revision 3 Year 2014. The results show that the addition of ash of bagasse has increased stability value. In general, the characteristic values that meet the requirements are found in the composition of 50% filler ash of bagasse asphalt at 5.87%, VIM value of 4.61%, VMA 18.41%, flow 3.17 mm and stability is 1344 , 04 kg.

Abstract

Basically, aggregate is the one of pavement capacity. The determining of fine aggregate Sabang has low quality because the value absorption is 4.45% > 3%. The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of gum rosin substitution on asphalt penetration 60/70 with fine aggregate sabang for Marshall characteristics. The trial method is Marshall method by using dry process. Based on the research results the value of optimum bitumen is 5.87%. from the research result it can be concluded that if the greater value of aggregate then the weight from those type of aggregate is smaller so the weight of the type of maximum mixture become small, whereas the smaller value of aggregate porosity then the weight of the type from those aggregate is larger so that the weight of the maximum type mixture became much larger. The percentage aggregate variation (AHS 50%:AHI 50%), (AHS 75%:AHI 25%), and (AHS 100%:AHI 0%). The results showed the value stability is lower, when percentage of fine aggregate sabang  more excessively. The best value stability is 50% of fine aggregate sabang and 50% and aggregate from Aceh Besar. The utilizing of value percent fine aggregate sabang that excess is poor in quality, because binding strength not efectif. One way anova show the value of  density, VIM, VMA, VFA, Stability Flow and Marshall shows is F count is larger than the value F table and the value of sig. smaller than the value of  , it’s means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning is influential.

Abstract

Along with urbanism and rapid motorization in the Pidie district leads to increasing private-mode dependency. Increasing number of the vehicle used in urban road networks could affect the pedestrian crossing facilities, especially within the school zone. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the needs for pedestrian crossing facilities within school zone located at Prof. A. Majid Ibrahim Road in the Pidie District. The gap acceptance approach is used to evaluate accepted and rejected gaps. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the pedestrian crossing (Zebra Cross) regarding whether it is truly appropriate or not then evaluates using the statistical method of hypothesis testing. The analysis result reveals that the higher speed in the traffic, the greater gap required by crosser. The average speed for the traffic direction of Medan - Banda Aceh is about 47,13 km/h; pedestrians require the distribution of gap value of 85% or about 7 m crossing distance is necessary to available. At the location of the zebra cross 1, in the morning and noon observations show the average gap is about 7.71 and 9.18 seconds, respectively. Furthermore,  as for the location of the zebra cross 2, in the morning and noon observations show the average gap is about 8.69 and 10.20 seconds, respectively. Based on the gap distribution, it concluded that the zebra cross facility at Prof. A. Majid Ibrahim Road is still worth using. As for the effectiveness of zebra cross, based on 85% speed at a distance from 50 m and 30 m can be concluded that zebra cross at Prof. A. Majid Ibrahim Road is ineffective. The absence of a decreasing in vehicle speed as it passes through the zebra cross, the velocity of the vehicle at 50 m from the zebra cross ≥ 30 m from the zebra cross. The speed of the vehicle tends to be stable at the time of going through the zebra cross.

Abstract

In general, within a household, almost every day do several Activities or movements. Going to work is an activity that most frequently performed within households. The activity can support or meet the needs of the household life. In this study, worker trip generation is modeled based on the aggregation of household's income level. Firstly, household income is divided into two categories namely low income (≤ IDR 5 million) and high income (> IDR 5 million). This study aims to formulate the differences in utility faction, the trip probability, and factors that influencing work trip activities. The data were collected within four sub-districts located in Banda Aceh province such as Jaya Baru, Banda Raya, Lueng Bata and Kuta Raja. About 400 questionnaire survey is collected and used for this study. The binomial logit model is applied to model worker trip activities, and parameters estimation is determined using SPSS. The empirical result from the analysis shows us that for a model of worker trip generation by low income is obtained the utility difference value is 0,314, probability value 55% and 45% for trip < 4 and ≥ 4, respectively. The factors that are influence the model is the number of car ownership, family members, family members who have not attended school and destination location.Furthermore, the model of worker trip generation based for high-income household was obtained utility difference value is 0,867, a probability value is 67% and 33% for trip < 4 and ≥ 4, respectively. The factors that influenced the model are the number of motorcycle ownership, family members who attended school, family members who have not attended school, family members who work, the age of respondent, and activity duration.

Abstract

Banda Aceh City, the capital of Aceh province, is particularly vulnerable to the tsunami. One of the most vulnerable sub-district in Banda Aceh is the Kuta Raja sub-district, which has a high tsunami threat level. Realizing the harmful effects that could be caused by the earthquake disaster. Therefore, disaster mitigation needs to be considered in order to reduce casualties and to minimize the risk of disaster that will occur in the future. One of the most important things in the evacuation planning is that mode and time of evacuation choices by the residents. Residents may be considered the safest mode and the correct time to evacuate. In this case, fastest mode and nearest escape building would be influenced factor for residents in selecting mode and time to evacuate. Therefore, in this study, we consider two mode choices, that is motorized and non-motorized transports. This study aims at analyzing the mode and time to evacuate choice made by the residents. The stated preference of questionnaire survey method is used to obtained necessary data set from the respondents. The discrete choice model namely binomial logit model is then governed to explore the behavioral response by respondents in selecting mode and time to evacuate. The result from the analysis reveals that the average time to evacuate less than 30 minutes was selected for the respondent who considers evacuating to the evacuation building within the radius of 15 km from their home. The probability to select a time to evacuate less than 30 minutes and evacuate distance within the radius of 15 km is about 71%. The remaining probability is around 29% to select a time to evacuate more than 30 minutes with evacuate distance more than the radius of 15 km. As for mode choice model depicts that the motorized transport is shown dominated up to 89% while for the non-motorized accounting up to 11%. The households characteristics that influencing the mode and time to evacuate selection are income, employment status, age and number of the child within a household.

Abstract

The district of Aceh Barat Daya has 9 sub-districts, of which there are 3 sub-districts with the highest population, Susoh, Blangpidie and Kuala Batee. Increasing population in the sub-district, resulting in an increase in the number of transport movements that will affect road capacity. It is therefore necessary to model a revival of the movement in the sub-district, living in the area on the basis of its activity. Movement activity has 2 categories, namely mandatory and non-mandatory activities. Mandatory activity is the work and school activities undertaken by individuals, while non-mandatory activities are activities such as daily shopping, shopping that is not done daily, carrying and delivering children or other people, as well as other activities such as recreation, social visits, and other entertainment activities. This study aims to find out the pattern of the rise of household travel, based on the structure and income of the family in terms of mandatory and non-mandatory activities in Blangpidie, Susoh and Kuala Batee sub-districts. The results showed that in mandatory activity there was only 1 best model, that is in movement of family structure > 2 children (Y2.a = -0,427 + 0,296X2 + 0,341X7). In this case the factors that influence the rise of movement of family structure on mandatory activity is the age factor and the number of motorcycle in the family. In non-mandatory activity there are 2 best model, that is in movement of family structure > 2 child (Y2.b = -1,128 + 0,972X2 + 1,651X3) and movement of family income > 3 million (Y4.b = -1,475 + 0,940X2 + 2,553 X3). In this case the factors that influence the rise of movements of family structure and income in non-mandatory activities is the factor of age and level of education.
