Abstract

Data mining process on dynamically changing data have several problems, such as unknown data size and skew of the data is always changing. Random sampling method commonly applied for extracting general synopsis from very large database. In this research, Vitter’s reservoir algorithm is used to retrieve k records of data from the database and put into the sample. Sample is used as input for classification task in data mining. Sample type is backing sample and it saved as table contains value of id and priority. Priority indicates the probability of how long data retained in the sample. Kullback-Leibler divergence applied to measure the similarity between population and sample distribution. Result of this research is showed that continuously taken samples randomly is possible when transaction occurs. Kullback-Leibler divergence is a very good measure to maintain similar distribution between the population and the sample with interval from 0 to 0.0001. Sample results are always up to date on new transactions with similar skewnes. In purpose of classification task, decision tree model is improved significantly when the changing occurred.

Abstract

Over the last two decades, significant advances have been made in the development of techniques for evaluating the performance, availability, and reliability of computer and communication systems in integration [11]. The reliability of the network is an important parameter in network [4]. Reliability is the performance, availability and security is a factors most important in a network . A distributed system is a system architecture in which computers can communicate and share resources [8]. This research applies a distributed system with load balancing and multimaster replication techniques in database. Abstract

AbstrakMobilitas sivitas akademik meliputi dosen dan mahasiswa serta reputasi ilmiah merupakan informasi strategis yang dibutuhkan dalam pelaporan kinerja perguruan tinggi. Menampilkan informasi tersebut dalam sebuahhalaman web dalam bentuk grafik akan memudahkan para eksekutif dalam menyusun rumusan strategi. Sistem informasi eksekutif dapat menjawab kebutuhan tersebut karena sistem informasi eksekutif sebagai bagian dari sistem pendukung manajemen menekankan informasi yang strategis yang dibentuk bagi eksekutif.Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah sistem informasi eksekutif berbasis web bernama SIMORI yang dapat diakses di halaman http://simori.ipb.ac.id dengan berbagai perangkat karena menerapkan responsive web design. Metode pengembangan sistem menggunakan pendekatan Executive Information System Life Cycle (EISLC). Abstract

Creating a university library?s website needs to pay attention to usability aspect as a key of success and also as a user requirement for a website existence. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze what problem would user facing and also giving a recommendation for maintenance in website?s interface to become more user-friendly. In this research, we did usability test to Universitas Mercu Buana library?s website using cognitive walkthrough method. A Cognitive walkthrough is a method to test usability where tester does series of task scenario to reach its goal. Usability test component covers effectiveness and efficiency. The result of this testing shows that the rate of finished task scenario from respondent are 90%. The Margin of error in this task scenario are from downloading from ProQuest database article. The average time for respondent completes all the task scenario is 680 seconds. The problem that users facing when using the website are finding book title, downloading thesis, finding journal title, finding article title, and downloading article from ProQuest database. the improvement this website need are adding the new search filter for ProQuest database article, the search box should be on every web pages, collection availability status should be showing in the search result without clicking title or call number, and term naming should be relevant to the content.Keywords: Cognitive Walkthrough, Library Website, Usability, Usability Testing, Website

Abstract

Metagenome is a combination of several microorganisms collected from the environment. In metagenome analysis, it is required binning for grouping metagenome fragment yielded by sequencer. This research used the composition approach for conducting metagenome fragment binning. In this approach, binning could be implemented using unsupervised or supervised learning. We used Self-Organizing Map (SOM) for conducting binning used on unsupervised learning. We compared two techniques of training in SOM, namely sequential training and batch training for finding the best techniques. The results showed that the batch training could obtain 3.8% error valued on the map of [10 15]. Abstract

Multiple sequence alignment (MSA) is a technique for finding similarity in many sequences. This technique is very important to support many Bioinformatics task such as identifying Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) and metagenome fragments binning. The simplest algorithm in MSA is Star Algorithm. The complexity of DNA multiple sequence alignment using dynamic programming technique is very high. This research aims to accelerate computation of Star Mutiple Sequence Alignment using Message Passing Interfaces (MPI). The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by calculating speedup. Experiment was conducted using 64 sequences of 800 bp Glycine-max-chromosome-9-BBI fragments yielded by randomly cut from reference sequence of Glycine-max-chromosome-9-BBI taken from NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information). The results showed that the proposed technique could obtain speedup three times using five computers when aligning 64 sequences of Glycine-max-chromosome-9-BBI fragments.  Moreover, the increasing of the number of computers would significantly increased speedup of the proposed. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i12.6572

Abstract

Penerapan lisensi GNU General Public License (GPL) menyebabkan munculnya berbagai sistem operasi berbasis GNU/Linux. Hal ini dikarenakan banyak perusahaan, masyarakat umum, dan komunitas tertentu yang mengembangkan pemaketan aplikasi (distro) Linux sesuai dengan kebutuhan masing-masing. Distro IPB Linux Operating System (ILOS) 2013 merupakan sistem operasi GNU/Linux yang dikembangkan untuk menunjang kebutuhan perangkat lunak mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB). ILOS 2013 dibangun menggunakan metode remastering menggunakan distro Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS sebagai distribusi induk. Mahasiswa IPB memiliki karakteristik yang heterogen dan terdiri atas beberapa kompetensi keilmuan yang berbeda. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini dilakukan survei dengan metode penarikan contoh kuota. Survei yang dilakukan melibatkan 100 mahasiswa dari semua jurusan di IPB untuk menentukan kebutuhan perangkat lunak bagi mahasiswa IPB. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data survei, paket distro ILOS meliputi 38 aplikasi yang terdiri atas 5 aplikasi untuk kebutuhan sains, 7 aplikasi perkantoran, 5 aplikasi pemrograman, 3 aplikasi manajemen basisdata, 2 aplikasi jaringan, 1 aplikasi sistem informasi geografis (SIG), 5 aplikasi computer aided design (CAD) dan desain grafis, 6 aplikasi internet, 3 aplikasi multimedia dan 1 aplikasi utilitas telah dipaketkan pada distro ILOS 2013 untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mahasiswa IPB. Seluruh aplikasi dipaketkan dalam bentuk DVD Installer ILOS 2013.Kata kunci: GNU/Linux, ILOS, penarikan contoh kuota, remastering, Ubuntu.

Abstract

Sistem Informasi bermanfaat bagi dunia pendidikan yaitu untuk manajemen data siswa, manajemen proses belajar mengajar melalui pemantauan kegiatan siswa. Pemantauan terhadap nilai dan kehadiran siswa perlu dilakukan karena merupakan salah satu indikator keberhasilan siswa. Hasil pemantauan ini perlu disampaikan kepada orang tua, agar orang tua dapat terlibat langsung terhadap perkembangan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini akan mengembangkan sistem informasi manajemen sekolah untuk memonitor nilai ujian dan kehadiran siswa. Sistem informasi yang dikembangkan berbasis web yang dilengkapi dengan short message service sehingga pesan langsung dikirimkan kepada orang tua. Sehingga pemantauan tidak dilakukan hanya satu semester sekali (pada saat pembagian raport), namun dilakukan saat kejadian berlangsung yaitu setiap ulangan harian, ulangan tengah semester dan ahir semester, kehadiran pun dapat dimonitor setiap hari. Sistem dikembangkan dengan menggunakan metode system Development life cycle. Kemudian dilakukan Uji usability untuk mengukur tingkat kemudahan penggunaan sistem oleh orang tua. Berdasarkan pengukuran dengan skala Likert (1 - 5), hasil uji menunjukkan nilai 4.05 berarti sistem tersebut mudah digunakan oleh pengguna terutama orang tua siswa.Kata Kunci: kehadiran, nilai ujian, sistem informasi manajemen, SMS, usability.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berupa lembar kerja siswa (LKS) dengan pendekatan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika pada materi kubus dan balok, dan untuk mengetahui kualitas perangkat pembelajaran LKS berdasarkan pada aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE, yaitu Analysis (Analisis) melalui analisis kurikulum, Design (Perancangan), yaitu menyusun perangkat pembelajaran, Development (Pengembangan) yaitu memvalidasi perangkat pembelajaran, Implementation (Implementasi) yaitu melakukan kegiatan ujicoba pada proses pembelajaran dikelas VIIIB dan VIIIC MTs Assalafiyyah, dan Evaluation (Evaluasi) yaitu mengevaluasi perangkat pembelajaran.Hasil penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran berupa LKS Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran LKS dengan pendekatan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Brain-Based Learning (BBL) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis (KKMAT) dan self-efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu menggunakan desain grup kontrol tidak secara acak dengan pemberian tes awal dan tes akhir. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Jetis Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta pada semester kedua tahun ajaran 2012/2013 yang terdiri atas tiga kelas. Dua kelas dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes KKMAT dan skala self-efficacy. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan uji multivariat (MANOVA). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan BBL berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-efficacy siswa.Kata Kunci: Pendekatan Brain-Based Learning, kemampuan komunikasi matematis, self-efficacy The Effect of Brain-Based Learning Approach toward the Mathematical Communication Ability and Self-Efficacy of Senior High School Students AbstractThis study aimed to describe the effect of the instruction using Brain-Based Learning Approach (BBLA) toward students? mathematical communication ability (MCA) and self-efficacy. This study adopted a pretest-posttest nonrandomized control group design in a quasi-experimental setting. The population comprised all students grade XI IPA of SMA Negeri 1 Jetis D. I. Yogyakarta in the second semester of the academic year 2012/2013 consisting of three classes. Two classes were selected as the research sample, namely experimental class and control class. The instruments of the study were a test of MCA and scale of self-efficacy. The data were analized using the one sample t test and MANOVA test. The findings of the study show that the instruction using BBLA has an effect on students? mathematical communication ability and self-efficacy.Keywords: Brain-Based Learning Approach (BBLA), mathematical communication ability, self-efficacy
