Abstract

AbstractAcacia mangium × Acacia auriculiformis hybrid is a promising new option for forest plantations that is propagated using clonal technologies. However, its deployment must be supported by an understanding f how clones respond to differing environment conditions. A multi-site test is therefore necessary; in this   study, three sites, one in Central Java, and one each in Riau and Jambi were used. Between 20 and 44 clones were used at each site, and nine were common to each site. Each trial was laid out in a randomized complete block design with between four and 20 replications, and a between-tree spacing of either 3 × 3 m or 3 × 2 m. Height (H), diameter at breast height (D) and volume (V) were measured two years after planting. Growth rates in Riau and Jambi were substantially higher than in Central Java, a difference that can be attributed to soil type and rainfall. Significant differences were found among the clones for all these variables at all the three sites. For the three sites, clone repeatability was high and ranged from 0.91 to 0.97; ramet repeatability was moderate and ranged from 0.49 to 0.59. Clone x site interaction was highly significant in all parameters observed.  For the nine common clones, multi-site clone repeatability was also high (0.93-0.96), but ramet repeatability was low (0.26-0.35). The best performing clones were Clones 4, 6 and 44. However there were differences in ranking, and only Clone 44, in Central Java and Riau, was the best performing. The experiment has shown the importance of these trials for developing strategies for deploying clonal stock. However the results suggest that it will take longer than two years for a clear pattern of differences between clones to emerge.Keywords: new variety, clone, repeatability, multi-site

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji tentang pengaruh faktor sosial, kasih sayang, kerumitan, kesesuaian dengan pekerjaan, konsekuensi jangka panjang dan kondisi yang memfasilitasi penggunaan teknologi informasi. Sampel  dari penelitian ini adalah 50 akuntan yang bekerja di perusahaan manufaktur di Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan quesioner untuk pengumpulan data. Hasilnya mengindikasikan bahwa faktor afektif dan kesesuaian tugas adalah signifikan dan mempunyai efek yang positif terhadap penggunaan teknologi informasi, sedangkan faktor faktor sosial, kerumitan, konsekuensi jangka panjang, dan faktor kondisis yang memfasilitasi teknologi informasi tidak signifikan dan tidak memiliki efek yang positif terhadap penggunaan teknologi informasi. This study investigates the influence of social factors, affection, complexity, appropriateness of tasks, long-term consequences and the conditions that facilitate the utilization of information technology. The samples in this study are 50 accountants in manufacturing companies in Semarang. This study uses questionnaire as the method of data collection. The results of this study indicate that affective factors and appropriateness of tasks have positive and significant impact on the utilization of information technology, while social factors, complexity, long-term consequences and the factors that facilitate the conditions do not have significance and positive impact on the utilization of information technology.

Abstract

Kebutuhan masyarakat akan kayu solid yang semakin meningkat, memberikan peluang bagi jenis pohon cepat tumbuh seperti Acacia mangium untuk digunakan sebagai bahan semi konstruksi maupun konstruksi. Secara umum, kualitas kayu dipengaruhi oleh sifat pertumbuhan terutama kecepatan pertumbuhan. Pengaruh kecepatan pertumbuhan terhadap sifat-sifat kayu mangium belum banyak di diteliti. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sifat fisika dan mekanika kayu mangium pada kecepatan tumbuh yang berbeda serta hubungan antara kerapatan dasar dengan sifat-sifat lain yang diuji. Sembilan pohon mangium umur 4 tahun yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari Kabupaten Wonogiri, Jawa Tengah. Adapun sifat-sifaf kayu yang diuji adalah kerapatan dasar, perubahan dimensi, rasio T/R, keteguhan lengkung statis (MOE dan MOR), keteguhan tekan sejajar dan tegak lurus serat. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh diuji dengan one-way ANOVA. Sebagai hasilnya, sifat fisika dan mekanika kayu yang diuji menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata pada tiga kategori kecepatan tumbuh yang berbeda, kecuali pada penyusutan radialnya. Selanjutnya, kerapatan dasar berkorelasi positif secara signifikan terhadap penyusutan radial dan tangensial serta kekuatan tekan sejajar dan tegak lurus serat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kerapatan dasar merupakan indikatoryang bagus untuk mempredikasi sifat fisika dan mekanika kayu mangium. Effect of Growth Rate on Physical and Mechanical Properties of 4-year-old Acacia mangium Wood from Wonogiri, Central JavaAbstractIncreasing solid wood demand provides an opportunity to fast-growing wood species such as Acacia mangium as semi construction and construction materials. In general, the quality of wood is affected by growth characteristics such as radial growth rate. The study about effect of growth rate on the properties of mangium wood is limited in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the physical and mechanical properties of mangium wood at different growth rates. Furthermore, relationship between basic density and other properties was clarified. The nine mangium trees of 4-year-old used in this study were planted in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. Basic density, shrinkage, T/R ratio, static bending strength (MOE and MOR), compressive strength parallel and perpendicular to grain were determined. The results were analyzed with one-way ANOVA. As a result, the physical and mechanical properties of the woods showed no significant difference in three different categories of growth rates, except for radial shrinkage. Furthermore, the basic density is positively significant correlated with radial and tangential shrinkage and also compressive strength parallel and perpendicular to grain. Based on these results, it is suggesting that basic density is a good indicator for predicting physical and mechanical properties of mangium wood.

Abstract

Persilangan antara Acacia mangium dan Acacia auriculiformis akan menghasilkan hibrid akasia, baik secara alami maupun buatan. Seperti induknya, jenis hibrid akasia dikembangkan untuk mendukung ketersediaan bahan baku industri pulp dan kertas. Secara morfologi, A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, dan hibridnya (A. mangium xA. auriculiformis) dapat dengan mudah dibedakan pada tingkat semai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kesamaan antara A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, dan hibridnya berdasarkan perbedaan struktur anatomi mikroskopis pada akar, batang/ranting dan daun (filodia). Sampel akar, batang/ranting, dan daun (filodia) dibuat preparat semi permanen menggunakan teknik free-hand dan hasilnya diamati dengan image raster dan leaf clearing. Parameter yang diamati adalah ukuran jaringan penyusun akar, batang/ranting, dan daun(filodia) serta hubungan kekerabatan antara A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, dan hibridnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antara A. mangium dan A. auriculiformis mempunyai tingkat kesamaan sebesar 55,26% dan hibrid A. mangium xA. auriculiformis mempunyai tingkat kesamaan dengan induk betina (A. mangium) lebih besar dibandingkan dengan induk jantan (A. auriculiformis), yaitu berturut-turut sebesar 60,53%-65,78% dan 52,63%-63,16%. Hibrid vigor mempunyai kekerabatan lebih dekat dengan hibrid intermediet dibandingkan dengan hibrid inferior, yaitu berturut-turut sebesar 78,95% dan 68,42%. Kemungkinan untuk mendapatkan hibrid unggul dengan persilangan dapat ditingkatkan dengan memilih pohon induk betina yang lebih unggul.Similarity Index among Acacia mangium, Acacia auriculiformis, and its Hybrid Based on the Anatomical Properties of Root, Stem, and LeafAbstractCrossing between Acacia mangium and Acacia auriculiformis will result Acacia hybrid whether naturally or artificially. Acacia hybrid, as its parents, was developed to support pulp and paper industries. Morphological characteristics of leaves among A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, and its hybrid (A. mangium x A. auriculifomris) were easily differentiated on nursery stage. This study was done to observe the anatomy of root, stem, and leaves of A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, and its hybrid for assessing their similarity. The samples of leaves, stems, and roots were made into semi-permanent object using freehand technique then the results were assessed using an image-raster and leaf clearing. The observed parameters were the anatomical structure in the root, stem, and leaves tissues as well as similarity index among A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, and its hybrid. The result showed that the similarity between A, mangium and A. auriculiformis was 55.26% and its hybrid were closer to A. mangium than A. auriculiformis with similarity index of 60.53%-65.78% and 52.63%-63-16%, respectively. Hybrid vigour showed a closer similarity to intermediate hybrid than inferior hybrid with similarity index of 78.95% and 68.42%. It is a great probability to obtain hybrid vigour by selecting good mother-trees due to the similarity index between hybrid and its mother tree.

Abstract

Latar belakang masalah penelitian ini berdasarkan asumsi dasar bahwa proses pembelajaran dan hasilnya dimungkinkan dipengaruhi berbagai factor, baik factor internal maupun eksternal. Berbagai strategi pembelajaran dengan terapan metode pembelejarann dimungkinkan memiliki kaitan yang signifikan, terutam terapan meetode kombinasi antara metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan yang dewasa ini dianggap lebih relevan untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS. Terapan tersebut seperti yang telah dilaksanakan di ..di SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa selama ini. Adapun masalah  yang diteliti adalah tentang kemungkinan adanya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan dengan hasil pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah bagi peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 23009/2010. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk: (1) mengetahui tingkat hubungan  antara penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan dengan hasil pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah bagi peserta didik , khususnya di SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa;  dan (2) membuktikan apakah terdapat hubungan   yang positif dan signifikan antara penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan dengan hasil pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah, khususnya  bagi peserta didik kelas VII  di SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa  Kabupaten Semarang  semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2009/2010. Bentuk pendekatan dan terapan metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan olahan data melalui analisis statistika. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan dengan perhitungan nomogram Herry King sebanyak 48 orang ( peserta didik ) .  kelas VII  SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa pada semester ganjil  tahun pelajaran 2009/2010. dengan teknik proporsional random  sampling dari tujuh kelass VII parallel di sekolah tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik angket untuk  variable bebas ( penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan) dan teknik tes untuk data variable terikat ( hasil pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah). Pengolahan data dilakukan analisis statistika dengan terapan rumus korelasi Product Moment dari Spearman Brown. Hasil penelitian diperoleh pembuktian bahwa terdapat hubungan  yang positif dan  signifikan  antara penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan dengan hasil pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah bagi peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa  semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2009/2010. Hal ini ditunjukkan bahwa hasil uji rhitung sebesar 0,548 > rtabel    ( 0,284 untuk araf signifikan 5% dan 0,368 untuk taraf signifikansi 1% ). Dengan demikian terdapat hubungan  yang positif dan  signifikan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Hipotesis kerja ( Ha ) terbukti dan diterima kebenarannya adanya hubungan  yang positif dan signifikan antara penerapan metode ceramah, diskusi dan penugasan dengan  hasil pembelajaran mata pelejaran IPS/sejarah bagi peserta didik kelas VII di SMP Islam Sudirman Ambarawa pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2009/2010. Saran atau rekomendasi dari hasil penelitian ini adalah : (1) perlunya teknik pengembangan pola pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan perlunya terapan metode pembelajaran yang lebih relevan dengan muatan bahan ajar, terutama dalam prosesa pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah agar hasil yang dicapai dapat lebih maksimal.;  (2) perlunya peningkatan pola pengembangan system pembelajaran mata pelajaran IPS/Sejarah yang selama ini gairah dan kesungguhan belajar pada mata pelajaran tersebut belum memuaskan hasilnya. Kata Kunci : Metode, Ceramah, Diskusi, Penugasan, IPS  /  Sejarah

Abstract

Acacia hybrid (Acacia mangium× A.auriculiformis) shows better growth and wood properties, and tolerance to pest and disease. Currently, acacia hybrid breeding strategy was developed through naturally hybrid selected from trees grown in plantation. However, mass propagation of acacia hybrid using such kind of strategy was not satisfied due to ageing effect. This study was aimed to develop a new acacia hybrid breeding strategy using controlled pollination hybridization technique. The strategy was developed through a series of research: flowering, crossing, hybrid identification, clone multiplication, and clonal test. The results of study showed that the series of research for developing acacia hybrid breeding strategy was achieved. Flowering time synchronization provided a high probability for the success of controlled pollination hybridization. Leaves taxonomy at seedling stage revealed to be an efective way to identify acacia hybrid with acuracy of 92.2%. The acacia hybrid was succesfully propagated using shoot cutting at rate of 78.1%. The best selected clones of acacia hybrid outperformed in height growth at rates of 17.28% over to superior pure parents, which is equivalent to the estimated stand productivity at around 48 m3 ha-1 y-1. The series of research provided a new effective and efficient breeding strategy for acacia hybrid.

Abstract

Forty four clones of Acacia hybrid  propagated from selected stoolplants were tested together with a control of pure species seedling and clone in a clonal test established at Wonogiri, Central Java. The design of clonal test was Incomplete Block Design, which was laid-out as single treeplot of 20 replications with spacing of 3 m x 3 m. Measurements of tree height were conducted at age 12 months. There were significant differences between the clones in height growth. Eleven clones of 44 were more superior than the original population at SSO F1 (Control 4th) which superiority ranging from 1.81-35.35 % and 3 of them were more superior than the pure species (control 1th, control 2th and control 3th) which superiority ranging from 3.51 – 17.28%. Meanhile, clone repeatability for height at age 12 months was, while individual repeatability for height was 0.59 +- 0.1

Abstract

The first generation of Acacia hybrid between A. mangium and A. auriculiformis potential to be developed for plantation because of its superiority. The superiority of hibrid Acacia were fast growth, straight bole, light branching, more tolerant to pest/disease attack and better wood property than the parent trees. The only way to maintain their superiority is to propagate it vegetatively. The objective of the research was to observed characteristics of hibrid Acacia based on seed viability,sprouting and rooting ability. Materials used in this study were collected seed from control pollination at breeding garden which verified by molecular marker. The result showed that the character of seed viability on hybrid Acacia was still low (48.1%) meanwhile the sprouting and rooting ability were 16.5 ± 0.7 shoots and 78,4% respectively.

Abstract

Tree improvement program for Eucalyptus pellita in Center for Forest Biotechnology and Tree Improvement (CFBTI) was started in 1994. The programs are now beginning their third-generation of breeding which have relied on recurrent selection through establishing open-pollinated seedling seed orchard. Using current technologies, several Industrial Forest Companies in Indonesia are pursuing clonal forestry program with E. pellita to increase plantation productivity using selected clones from comprehensively field testing. This study was aimed to evaluate the early growth and stand volume productivity of selected clones of E. pellita as a part of a breeding program for pulpwood conducted by CFBTI.  Two clonal trials of E. pellita were established in Central Java with two different plot configurations: single tree-plot and multiple tree-plot. Measurement at the trials was done at two years age involving tree height, diameter, stem volume and stand volume. The results of study showed that among the clones were significantly different for all traits accessed. All of tested clones exceeded the control seedling of F-1 generation by 9-50% for height, 10-36% for diameter and 22-137%  for stem volume. Clone repeatability ranged from 0.7-0.9, with corresponding individual ramet repeatability ranged from 0.2-0.4. The outperformed of the best three selected clones in single tree-plot trial was consistent when planted in multiple tree-plot trial with stand volume productivity at given age reached 15 m3/ha.
