Abstract

The effect of gain to The Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) and Full Width at Tenth Maximum (FWTM) on B-mode image ultrasonogram (USG) has been investigated. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of gain on the spatial resolution according the measurements of FWHM and FWTM. The evaluated resolution type is axial and lateral. This research used phantom multipurpose multi tissue with gain (30 dB, 35 dB, 40 dB, 45 dB, 50 dB, 55 dB and 60 dB) on frequency variation source 6,2 Mhz, 8 MHz dan 10MHz. The axial and lateral resolution images were obtained by using USG which uses B-Mode imaging. The measurement was made by using digital image and calculated objectively with MATLAB. The measurement of FWHM and FWTM was obtained from IP-PSF analysis (In Plane-Point Spread Function) using approximation for the Gaussian function. The result shows that there is influence from gain on FWHM and FWTM. The decreasing gain resulted in decreasing of FWHM and FWTM. Abstract

Rumput laut atau seaweed termasuk tumbuhan berthallus yang banyak dijumpai hampir di seluruh pantai Indonesia, terutama wilayah pantai yang mempunyai rataan terumbu karang.  Perbedaan mendasar sistem hidupnya dengan tumbuhan darat adalah dalam pengambilan zat-zat makanan. Tumbuhan darat sangat bergantung pada akar sebagai alat pengambil/ penyerap zat hara dari substrat, sedangkan rumput laut menyerap zat hara yang dibutuhkan bagi pertumbuhannya dari medium air dengan cara difusi melalui permukaan substansi fisiknya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas rumput laut di perairan Pasir Panjang Pulau Limbah, Kecamatan Paguyaman Pantai, Kabupaten Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo. Metoda penelitian yang digunakan adalah bersifat diskriptif.Adapun pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode sample survey methods. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perairan Pulau Limbah di dominasi oleh Rumput Laut Coklat dengan kelimpahan tertinggi Padina australis. Nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) Rumput Laut tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun C dengan nilai rerata: 1,854 dan yang terendah pada Stasiun A dengan nilai rerata: 1,469. Nilai Indeks Keseragaman (E)  nilai tertinggi terdapat pada Stasiun C dengan nilai rerata: 0,679 dan terendah pada stasiun A dengan nilai rerata: 0,668. Nilai indeks Dominansi (C) tertinggi terdapat pada Stasiun A dengan nilai rerata : 0,251 dan nilai terendah stasiun B dengan nilai rerata: 0,187. Analisis Ragam (Anova) menunjukan bahwa stasiun penelitian memberikan perbedaan yang nyata (P≤0,05) terhadap nilai Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’), Indeks Keseragaman (E) serta Indeks Dominasi (C).  Seaweed including thallus plants that are found almost all over the coast of Indonesia, especially on beaches that have coral reefs. Seaweed is a photosynthetic organism as well as plants on land. The fundamental difference of his life system is in the taking of food substances. Ground plants realy heavily on roots as a nutrient removal device from the substrate, while seaweed absorbs the nutrients needed for its growth from the water medium by diffusion through the surface of its physical substance. This study aims to determine the structure of seaweed communities in Limbah Island Waters, District Paguyaman Beach. The results showed that the waters of Limbah Island is dominated by brown seaweed with the highest species abundance was Padina australis. The highest index value of Seaweed diversity (H’) was found at station C with average: 1,854 and the lowest at station A with a mean of: 1,469. For uniformity index value (E) the highest value is at station C with average: 0,679 and the lowest at station A with a mean of: 0,668. The highest index value of dominance (C) is at station A with a mean of: 0,251 and the lowest value at station B with a mean of: 0,187. The result of the analysis of variance (Anova) showed that the research station give a significant difference (P≤0,05) to the Diversity Index (H’), Uniformity Index (E) and Domination Index (C).

Abstract

Keberadaan penyu telah lama terancam, baik dari alam maupun kegiatan manusia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian konsentrasi pakan yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan tukik Penyu Hijau (Chelonia mydas) usia 4 hari selama masa perawatan 5 minggu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda eksperimental laboratoris. Materi yang digunakan adalah tukik penyu hijau (Chelonia mydas) usia 4 hari. Penelitian dilakukan di Pantai Sukamade Banyuwangi. Pakan yang diberikan berupa udang ebi sebesar 3% dan 8% dari berat biomassa. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tukik yang diberi pakan udang ebi dengan konsentrasi 3% memiliki Laju Perumbuhan Spesifik rata-rata 1,429 ± 0,074  lebih kecil daripada tukik yang diberi pakan dengan konsentrasi 8% yang rata-rata 1,630 ± 0,192. Hasil analisis data homogenitas terlihat bahwa nilai signifikansi pada F = 2,952 (p=0,161) atau p > 0,05 maka data bersifat homogen, serta laju pertumbuhan spesifik tukik dengan perlakuan pemberian pakan dengan konsentrasi yang  berbeda menunjukan bahwa nilai F hitung 22,611 > F tabel 0,05 dan atau 0,01. Itu menyatakan bahwa kedua perlakuan berbeda sangat nyata pada signifikan 0,05 dan 0,01.Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pertumbuhan penyu hijau dipengaruhi oleh pakan yang diberikan pada p<0,01

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem have an important role in the environment. The ecological values of mangrove Teluk Awur is a place for feeding, nursery and spawning ground mangrove organism. This environment also produce detritus that support the existence of organic matter in the waters around. The purpose of this research was to study the condition of mangroves bioecology and socio-economic conditions for integrated stakeholders strategy and management of mangrove Teluk Awur Jepara. Method used is case study, explorative and descriptive. Data were analyzed using SWOT analysis by weighting or scoring. The result showed Teluk Awur mangrove ecosystem in the categorized into good criteria because of it’s density > 1500 ind/ha. There are 27 mangrove species and various fauna depend their lives on to of Teluk Awur mangrove ecosystems. Management strategies are recommended as the first priority is providing mangrove rehabilitation activities involving the public directly (score 4.125). Second, environmental education and sustainable use of mangrove resources to local communities (score 2.887). Third, rulemaking and standard operating procedure (SOP) specifically management of Teluk Awur mangrove ecosystems by Diponegoro University: Marine Station (score 2.601).

Abstract

northern coast of central java. The manage of ecosystem mangrove there started since 1960 with conduct rehabilitation especially independently by the community. The purpose of this research is to study the management of existing mangrove ecosystem conservation and composing the development strategy for conservation area mangrove ecosystem in the Pasar Banggi village. Methods used in this research is descriptive explorative. A method of collecting data by using a method of surveying in the form of primary and secondary data. Data obtained by the kinds of vegetation analyze and SWOT analyze (strength, weakness, opportunity and thread). The results stated that the density of the category tree is worth 2700-3100 ind/ha, Sapling 933-2533 ind/ha, in seedling 83333-100000 ind/ha. The parameters of water quality in the mangrove ecosystem Pasar Banggi suitable for mangrove habitat. The most suitable method of planting is seeds in a polybag. Problems in rehabilitation include biological factors (barnacles, gastropoda and algae), physical factors (wave, wind, sediment, reclamation) and anthropogenic factors (pollution, land conversion, hunting mangrove worms). The presence of community leaders and frequent counseling makes the level of public knowledge about the benefits of mangroves are good. The community participation levels 80%. Rehabilitation is the most common forms of community participation in the Pasar Banggi the rehabilitation are mostly that come from self-help by the community (57.08%) and government assistance or private (42.92%). According to the results of the SWOT analysis, which is a top priority at the Pasar Banggi are: a) Determination of the zone within the mangrove ecosystem conservation (score 4.52) and b) increase the participation of stakeholders on mangrove ecosystem conservation program (score 3.29).

Abstract

Heavy metals; lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) are commonly used in the industrial sectors, including the industryof batteries, pesticides, detergents, paints, and chemical factories. Heavy metals which get into the water can damage the ecosystems and organisms in it. The aim of this study is to determine the contents of heavy metals Pb and Cd in sediments at Genuk coast waters district, Semarang. This research was conducted on October 7, November12, and December112012 at Genuk Coast Water District, Semarang. The sampling was conducted in 8 stationpoints. The method used for the analysis of heavy metals wasAtomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS), while the sediment fraction was analyzed using wet sieving method in Soil Mechanics Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University. Based on the research result, the contents of heavy metals Pb was higher compared with Cd, i.e heavy metal Pb ranging from 13,99 ppm - 38,11 ppm and heavy metal Cdranging from 0,17 ppm – 0,25 ppm, while the percentage of sediment fraction in all research stations dominated by silt fraction. The resultof correlation test has showed a positive correlation between heavy metals Pb and Cd to the grain size and organic matter in the amount of 11.4% and 49.6%.

Abstract

Senyawa nitrat dan fosfat merupakan nutrien yang dapat dijadikan sebagai petunjuk kesuburan perairan dan dibutuhkan baik pertumbuhan dan perkembangan lamun. Nutrien di perairan padang lamun berperan sebagai faktor pembatas pertumbuhan. Penyerapan nutrien oleh lamun dilakukan oleh daun dan akar. Besarnya kandungan nutrien dalam sedimen bukan berarti akan selalu dalam konsentrasi yang sama pada karakteristik  sedimen dasar dan kedalaman perairan. Bila terjadi perbedaan maka hal ini bisa mempengaruhi terjadinya perbedaan kondisi kepadatan dan sebaran pada setiap jenis lamun yang tumbuh dalam perairan, oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang hubungan kandungan Nitrat dan fosfat dalam substrat terhadap kerapatan lamun di perairan pantai Prawean, Jepara. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2018- Januari 2019. Metode penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah sampel sedimen, parameter perairan, dan kerapatan lamun. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan Nilai kandungan Nitrat di substrat Perairan Pantai Prawean Jepara berkisar antara 1,27–1,36 mg/L tergolong pada kategori kesuburan rendah. Nilai kandungan Fosfat pada sedimen yaitu 0,049–0,086 mg/L tergolong pada kategori rendah hingga tinggi. Tingkat kerapatan padang lamun berada pada kondisi kerapatan sangat  rapat (> 175 tegakan/m2).  Nitrate and phosphate compounds are nutrients that could be used as an indicator of aquatic fertility and needed by for growth and development of seagrass. Nutrients in seagrass waters serve as a limiting factor for growth. Nutrient absorption by seagrass were done by leaves and roots. The amount of nutrient content in sediment does not mean would be always same at the concentration on the basic sediment characteristics and depth water level. If there is a difference, it will cause an affect the different conditions of density and distribution in each type of seagrass which grows in the waters, therefore it is necessary to do research about relation of nutrient in the substrate to seagrass density in Prawean Beach, Jepara. This research was conducted in December 2018 - January 2019. The method used in this study was descriptive method. The material used in the study were sediment samples, water parameters, and seagrass density. Based on the results , it was found that the value of nitrate in substrate in the waters of Prawean Jepara Beach ranged from 1.27 - 1.36 mg. L-1 belonging to the low fertility category. The value of Phosphate content in substrate was 0.049 - 0.086 mg. L-1 belonging to the low until high category. The density level of seagrass at the tight density condition very tight >175 stands. m-2.

Abstract

For this research, an audiometer based on microcontroller with computer interface as a measuring instrument for the threshold of audible range has been designed. This device has some features, like graphic display, audio intensity display, and computer frequency. This audiometer intended for the research consists of frequency generator, audio generator, and manual and automatic amplifying switch. The microcontroller is the main component which has the ability to be frequency generator using Fast PWM at timer 1 within 16bit resolution and crystal value 16MHz so that the frequencies at 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz, 4000 Hz, and 8000 Hz can be generated precisely and steadily.The maximum audio intensity as the result of this research using the device was 46,2 dB. The result of the frequency test on the device designed for this research has the linear correlation coefficient R=1, meanwhile the audio intensity measured at the standardized device has the linear correlation coefficient R=0,997Keywords: microcontroller, sound level meter, multi-tester, frequency, audio intensity

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Nutrien memiliki peranan penting dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan biota laut. Kandungan nutrien merupakan salah satu indikator terhadap kesuburan sebagai deskripsi kualitatif suatu perairan. Tersedianya nutrien di muara sungai dipengaruhi oleh ekosistem mangrove yang hidup di sekitarnya. Kerusakan ekosistem mangrove yang terjadi karena tingginya konversi lahan dan faktor alam akan mempengaruhi kandungan nutrien di perairan, ditambah aktifitas manusia di daerah hulu yang memanfaatkan kawasan perairan sungai sebagai tempat untuk membuang limbah akan berdampak terhadap semakin tertekannya ekosistem mangrove, selain itu juga dapat mempengaruhi kondisi perairan muara sungai secara langsung. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kandungan nutrien (N, P dan Si) pada ekosistem mangrove perairan muara sungai kawasan pesisir Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan April 2015. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif eksploratif, sedangkan metode penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sampel air yang diambil dari 4 Lokasi muara sungai yang terdapat ekosistem mangrove, yaitu: Lokasi A (Mangunharjo), Lokasi B (Mangkang Wetan), Lokasi C (Maron) dan Lokasi D (Trimulyo). Analisis sampel penelitian dilakukan di Balai Laboratorium Kesehatan, Semarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kandungan nutrien N, P dan Si selama penelitian di semua lokasi adalah amonia (0,1-1.96 mg/L), nitrit (0.009-0.37 mg/L), nitrat (0,216-5.86 mg/L), fosfat (0.57-3.87 mg/L) dan silika (0.1-11.21 mg/L). Secara umum kandungan nutrien di seluruh lokasi telah melebihi baku mutu Kemetrian Lingkungan Hidup tahun 2004 untuk biota laut. Berdasarkan kandungan nutrien nitrat dan fosfat kesuburan perairan berada pada level mesotropik – hypertropik. Rasio N:P selama penelitian  berkisar antara 0.47:1 – 3.24:1. ABSTRACT : Nutrient had an important role in growth and development of organism. The content of nutrient is indicator to fertility as qualitative description of water. The availability of nutrient in estuary affected by mangrove ecosystem that live in the vicinity. The damage of mangrove ecosystem happened because of land conversion and nature cause, it will affect nutrient content in water. Human activities in headwaters which utilize river areas as a place to waste disposal will also aggravate mangrove ecosystem, it will affect the water condition in estuarine directly. This research was conducted to analyze the content of (N, P dan Si ) in mangrove ecosystem of estuary waters coastal area of Semarang. The research started from April 2015 - January 2016 consisting of sampling the estuaries of Semarang coastal area to writing the final report. The method used is descriptive explorative, while the method of determining location using purposive sampling method. The material used in this research is water samples taken from four location of estuary where there are mangrove ecosystem, that is: Location A (Mangunharjo), Location B (Mangkang Wetan), Location C (Maron) and Location D (Trimulyo). The Analysis samples of this research conducted at Balai Laboratorium Kesehatan, Semarang. The results showed that the nutrient content of N, P and Si for all locations are ammonia (0,1-1.96 mg/L), nitrite (0.009-0.37 mg/L), nitrates (0,216-5.86 mg/L), phosphate (0.57-3.87 mg/L) and silica (0.1-11.21 mg/L). In general the nutrient content in all locations has exceeded the quality standard The Ministry of Environment in 2004 for marine life . Based on the nutrient content of nitrate and phosphate fertility waters at the level mesotropik – hypertropik. Rasio N: P during the study ranged from 0.47 : 1 - 3:24 : 1.

Abstract

Komunitas mangrove menempati area diantara darat dan laut yang memiliki kondisi lingkungan berbeda satu sama lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui struktur vegetasi mangrove dan mengetahui kesesuaian jenis mangrove yang sesuai untuk perencanaan program rehabilitasi mangrove di Desa Bayeman Kecamatan Tongas dan Desa Pesisir Kecamatan Sumberasih Kabupaten Probolinggo. Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Maret 2015 sampai Januari 2016. Pengambilan data vegetasi dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dan setiap transek dibuat plot sampling. Setiap individu pohon (plot 10 m x 10 m) dan sapling (anakan) (subplot 5 m x 5 m) diidentifikasi dan diukur diameternya setinggi dada (±1,3 m). Sementara seedling (semai) dihitung jumlah masing-masing spesies dan persentase penutupannya (subplot 1 m x 1 m). Hasil penelitian di Desa Bayeman ditemukan 7 spesies mangrove dan 1 jenis spesies di Desa Pesisir. Vegetasi pohon mangrove di Desa Bayeman dan Desa Pesisir berada dalam kondisi baik. Vegetasi Mangrove di Desa Bayeman didominasi spesies Xylocarpus mollucensis dan untuk Desa Pesisir adalah Avicennia marina. Vegetation mangrove occupy the area between land and sea that have environmental conditions differ from one another. The purpose of this studied to know about the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation for rehabilitation program planning in Bayeman Sub-District of. Tongas and Pesisir Sub-Districk Sumberasih, District of Probolinggo , East Java. The studied was conducted in March, 2015 to January, 2016. Vegetation data was done with purposive sampling method and every transect was made with plot sampling method. Each tree (plot 10 m x 10 m) and sapling (subplot 5 m x 5 m) was identified and measured on diameter at breast height (± 1.3 m).  Meanwhile, Seedling calculated the amount of each species and the percentage of cover (subplot 1 m x 1 m). The research finding at Bayeman shows that there are seven mangroves and one mangrove shows in Pesisir. The mangrove vegetation at Bayeman and Pesisir in good conditions. Mangrove vegetation at Bayeman is dominated by Xylocarpus mollucensis and Mangrove vegetation at Pesisir is dominated Avicennia marina .
