Abstract

Background: Football players requires a high level of VO2max which is influenced by the available of energy. Tender coconut water and branded isotonic are as energy drinks containing of carbohydrates and the body?s electrolyte ions that can prevent dehydration. The increasing pulse describes a the condition of dehydrated players during match or training. Objective: To Examine comparison of tender hybrid coconut water and branded isotonic to pulse and the plyer?s level of VO2max in the Diponegoro University Football School in Tembalang, Semarang. Methods: Experimental study with an approach of randomized pretest - post test control group design at 41 soccer?s player aged 13-15 years at Diponegoro University Football School Tembalang in August 2015. The treatment group consumed consumed 250 mL tender coconut water (n=13) and branded isotonic (n=14) and group control consumed mineral water (n=14) every 15-30 minutes for 5 times. Observation  pre test and post test 1,2,3 with interval of 3 day after physical training, athlets test the pulse to palpation techniques for 15 seconds and VO2max test with multistage fitness test. Result: The VO2max and pulse recovery in the beginning of research for 3 group was similar (p = 0,454 and p = 0,294). Post test 1 VO2max on three group are same (p = 0,841) but the recovery pulse is better on the group of tender coconut water and branded isotonic (p = 0.006). Post test 2, VO2max and recovery pulse is more good by players who were given tender hybrid coconut water and branded isotonic (p = 0,004 and p = 0,017), as the same post test 3 VO2max and recovery pulse (p = 0.000 and p = 0,004).Conclusion: Giving the tender hybrid coconut water and branded isotonic to same to recovery pulse and increased VO2maks on athlete school football diponegoro unversity

Abstract

The primary objective of this research was to examine the effect of provision of red pomegranate juice on the levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and blood lactic acid in Wistar rats with maximum physical activity. The study employed a true experiment design. The pretest-posttest with control group design was done on 35 rats given maximum physical activity and treatment for 28 days. The rats were divided into 5 groups: the control group, group with treatment of multivitamin, group with treatment of red pomegranate 2 ml, 4 ml, and 6 ml. The MDA level was measured by TBARS method and lactic acid levels were analysed using ELISA. Comparison statistical analysis was done using paired t-test, while comparison of mean differences between treatment groups were tested using One-way ANOVA, and followed by LSD as the post hoc test. Provision of red pomegranate juice in a variety of doses significantly decreased the levels of MDA and blood lactic acid (p<0.05). The highest MDA level decrease occurred in the group treated with multivitamin (68.02%) and the highest decrease in the levels of blood lactic acid occurred in the group with 6 ml red pomegranate juice (25.94%). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that red pomegranate juice can lower the levels of MDA and blood lactic acid significantly in rats with maximum physical activity.

Abstract

Muscle mass and senam sehat Indonesia in elderly womenBackground: Health problem in elderly has become main concern because of the population increase. One of the problems is the decrease of musculoskeletal function influenced by the decrease of muscle mass. Activity like exercise can maintain muscle mass. Senam Sehat Indonesia (SSI) is one of well known, easy and right exercise for elderly. The aim of this study was to compare muscle mass between elderly women who exercise SSI regularly and who didn?t in relation with age and Body Mass Index (BMI).Method: An observational study was done with subjects taken from 2 different nursing home based on inclusion criteria. To get the total of muscle mass, we measured the Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), Triceps Skinfold (TSF) and height followed by calculation with muscle mass formula. Body weight was measured to calculate the muscle mass percentage and BMI. Data were analyzed with ANCOVA test with age and BMI as covariates.Result: A total of 54 subjects with 31 of them (57,41%) had regular exercise. They have better muscle mass (28.96%) of body weight and BMI 21,78 compared to the inactive subjects (28.86% and 24,47; p for muscle mass=0.007).Conclusion: Elderly who had regular exercise had better muscle mass than those who are inactive.ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Kesehatan pada orang lanjut menjadi perhatian saat ini karena jumlah populasinya yang semakin meningkat. Salah satu masalah adalah penurunan fungsi musculoskeletal yang dipengaruhi oleh penurunan massa otot. Aktivitas gerak seperti olahraga berguna untuk mempertahankan massa otot. Senam Sehat Indonesia (SSI) merupakan salah satu olahraga yang mudah dilakukan dan cocok bagi usia lanjut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membandingkan massa otot antara wanita usia lanjut yang melakukan SSI dengan yang tidak dengan memperhatikan usia dan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT).Metode: Penelitian belah lintang analitik ini dilakukan dengan mengambil subjek dari dua panti wredha yang berbeda dan memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Dilakukan pengukuran lingkar lengan atas, lipatan kulit triceps dan tinggi badan untuk perhitungan dengan rumus untuk massa otot. Berat badan juga diukur untuk menghitung persentase massa otot dan IMT. Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji statistik ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariate) dengan kovarian usia dan IMT. Hasil: Dari total 31 subjek yang melakukan SSI dan 23 subjek yang tidak melakukan SSI diperoleh perbedaan sangat bermakna (p=0,007) dengan massa otot yang lebih baik pada yang melakukan SSI. Pada 31 subjek yang melakukan SSI dengan IMT 21,78% memiliki persentase massa otot 28,96% terhadap massa tubuh. Dari 23 subjek yang tidak melakukan SSI dengan IMT 24,77 memiliki persentase massa otot 28,86% terhadap massa tubuh. Simpulan: Massa otot orang usia lanjut yang melakukan Senam Sehat Indonesia secara bermakna berbeda lebih baik daripada yang tidak melakukan Senam Sehat Indonesia.

Abstract

The capacity of physical ability can be improved through doing an exercise which is according to the intensity, duration and frequency. Exercise can improve the immunity system and influence the leucocyte. The number of pheripheral leucocyte can be the resource of  information for the diagnostics and prognose the description of organ damage and the recovery  after physical training. The purpose of this study to investigate the influence of aquarobic exercises to  leucocyte count .This study is experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects for this study is a women Obese I, 45-50 years old, they were 24  person. The subjects of study were given aquarobic exercises until the reached the targeted heartbeats which is 75% of the maximum heartbeats, duration 60 minutes, 8 weeks aquarobics exercises. The physical activity was done for a moment. Before and after doing the activity, the pheripheral blood was taken to examine leucocyte count. The result of study reveals that there is significantly increasing a value of the average leucocyte count  before aquarobic exercises. Based on the result of study, it can be concluded that aquaribics exercises change leucocyte count on Obes I Women.

Abstract

Latar belakang. Obesitas telah berkembang menjadi epidemi baik di negara maju maupun negaraberkembang. Diduga bahwa intervensi diet dan olah raga dapat menurunkan risiko obesitas.Tujuan. Mengetahui pengaruh intervensi diet dan olah raga terhadap indeks massa tubuh, lemak tubuhdan kesegaran jasmani pada anak obesMetode. Uji intervensi one group pre and post test design pada anak SD usia 9–10 tahun di SD BernardusSemarang pada bulan Juni-September 2009. Intervensi diet berupa konseling pada anak dan orangtua.Intervensi olahraga tiga kali 45 menit per minggu selama 8 minggu. Pengambilan data pada awal danakhir penelitian berupa data antropometri dengan menggunakan timbangan Tanita BC 545 Inner ScanBody Composition dan tingkat kesegaran jasmani diukur menggunakan 20 meter shuttle run test, kemudiandilakukan analisis data dengan t-test berpasangan dan analisis multivariat.Hasil. Dua puluh subjek (17 laki-laki dan 3 perempuan) menyelesaikan penelitian. Didapatkan penurunanrerata indeks massa tubuh 0,6 kg/m2 (p=0,006) dan peningkatan rerata tingkat kesegaran jasmani sebesar1,66 ml/kg/menit (p=0,000), tetapi tidak didapatkan perbedaan secara bermakna terhadap lemak tubuh.Asupan diet harian berkurang 421,3 kkal/hari. Berdasarkan analisis multivariat, asupan makanan merupakanvariabel yang lebih berpengaruh dibandingkan dengan olahraga (rsquare=0,33, p=0,018).Kesimpulan. Intervensi diet dan olahraga selama 8 minggu menurunkan indeks massa tubuh, meningkatkantingkat kesegaran jasmani, tetapi tidak didapatkan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap lemak tubuh. Asupandiet merupakan variabel yang paling berpengaruh.

Abstract

Exercise is physical stress which potentially causes disruption of homeostasis, especially in sports that is excessively done. Weight Training (LB) and Aquarobic Exercise (LA) can be modulators of handling stress. This research aims at investigating the effect of the difference between LB and LA to physical stress in obese women. The study was conducted in 2014. The method used in this study was randomized experimental pretest-posttest control group design in 36 obese women, aged 45-50 years who were divided into 3 groups, group LB 50% RM, 3 sets, 12 repetition, treatment two times a day for 8 weeks (n = 12), LA 75% HRmax, treatment 2 days for 8 weeks (n = 12) and control group (n = 12). Body Mass Index (BMI) and cortisol levels were measured before and after the treatment. Hypothesis testing was conducted using test (One-Way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis) and the mean difference test (Tukey HSD and Mann Whitney’s). The results of BMI is increased in the WT group and is decreased in LA group as compared to control group (p <0.05). The decrease of cortisol level is higher than in LA and LB group and controls (p <0.05). LB and LA affect the physical stress that is characterized by the increase in cortisol levels in obese women. Conclusion: LB is more dominant than LA in increasing physical stress.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan pengaruh latihan SKJL 2010 terhadap jumlah sel NK pada lansia. Penelitian eksperimenpre test- post test control group design ini dengan subyek penelitian lansia usia 55-70 tahun di Kota Semarang. Dari 56 orang diteliti 30 orang secara random yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan terbagi dalam tiga kelompok, yaitu 10 orang pada kelompok P1 dengan perlakuan latihan 3 hari/minggu, 10 orang kelompok P2 dengan perlakuan latihan 4 hari/minggu dan 10 orang pada kelompok kontrol. Penelitian dilakukan selama 8 minggu dengan metode latihan SKJL. Pengukuran dilakukan sebelum perlakuan terhadap subyek penelitian dengan mengambil darah vena 3 mL, 30 menit setelah melakukan SKJL 2010 untuk menghitung jumlah sel NK. Setelah perlakuan selama 8 minggu, dilakukan pengukuran dengan protokol yang sama untuk mengambil data jumlah sel NK. Terdapat peningkatan jumlah rerata sel NK pada P1 (0,55%), kelompok P2 (1,18%) dan kelompok kontrol (0,33%), tetapi tidak ada perbedaan yang signi kan antara kelompok P1, P2 dan kelompok kontrol, pengaruh SKJL terhadap jumlah sel NK (p= 0,50). Latihan senam kesegaran jasmani lansia (SKJL) dapat meningkatkan jumlah sel NK, tetapi tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna antar kelompok dengan latihan 2 hari/minggu, 3 hari/minggu dan 4 hari/minggu terhadap jumlah sel NK pada lansia.

Abstract

Background Worldwide, breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in women after lung cancer. Treatments include surgery, radiation, immunotherapy and chemotherapy, but are not effective. Tyrosine kinase and Ki67 protein are markers of proliferation. Typhonium flagelliforme ethanol extract (TFEE) has been shown to inhibit proliferation of Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 (MCF7) cells in culture. The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of administration of TFEE on tyrosine kinase and Ki67 expression in mice. Methods This experimental study using post test randomized design with control group was conducted in 24 tumor-bearing CH3 mice. They were randomly divided into 4 groups, consisting of one control and 3 treatment groups (TI, T2, T3) treated daily for 30 days with 0.2 ml TFEE at dosages of 200, 400, and 800 mg/kgBW, respectively. On day 31 the tumor tissues were collected and their tyrosine kinase and Ki67 expression were levels assessed using ELISA and immunohistochemical staining, respectively. Tyrosine kinase and Ki67 expression levels were analyzed, respectively using Kruskal Wallis test and one-way Anova followed by Bonferroni post hoc test. Results Mean tyrosine kinase level was highest in the control group, followed by T3, T2 and T1 (p=0.019). Mean level of Ki 67 expression was highest in the control group, followed by T2, T3 and T1 (p=0.000). Conclussions Oral administration of TFEE at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW decreases tyrosine kinase levels and Ki 67 expression.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of tempe giving to the oxidative stress in rats with high physical activities. This research was true experimental post-test only with control group design on 35 rats. The rats were given high physical activities and tempe treatments for 30 days. Those rats were divided into 5 group, which were: control 1 without giving tempe and supplement, control 2 with the giving of the commercial supplement, treatment 1 with giving 0.75 g tempe/200 g of body weight/day, treatment 2 with giving 1.5 g tempe/200 g of body weight/day and treatment 3 with giving 3 g tempe/200 g of body weight/day. At the end of this research, it was done the examination of the plasma MDA level by using TBARS method and activities of SOD enzyme using spectrofometry. The statistical analysis used One-way ANOVA Tests and Post Hoc LSD. The result showed that the tempe giving at various doses was significantly influenced to the reduction of MDA level (p<0.05) and also significantly influenced to the increasing activities of SOD enzyme (p<0.05). The giving of 3 g tempe was the most effective dose to the reduction of MDA level and the increasing activities of SOD enzyme. The conclusion was tempe could decrease the MDA level and increase the activities of SOD enzyme significantly in oxidative stress rats with high physical activities.
