Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the study is to describe teacher?s interaction in assisting students to construct their understanding of probability concept. This study employed descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The study was done by observing two times of probability lessons. The subjects were a teacher and 25 students. The data were collected using direct observation to see the teaching-learning process, and indirect observation using video, interview, and field note. The result of data analysis indicated that the availability of social and cognitive processes in the interaction. Based on verbal function, teacher?s interactions are having several functions, i.e: interrogative 54,26%, compositional 16,93%, informative 13,97%, reproductional 12,58%, expositional 12,24%, judgmental 9,91%, organizational 7,80%, and affective 6,99%. The interrogative and compositional functions are the most dominant interaction functions used by the teacher in assisting students? understanding. Other interactions which assisting students? understandings are informative, reproductional, expositional, judgmental, and affective.  Key Words: interaction, types of interactions, constructing concept, probabilityAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan interaksi guru dalam membantu siswa mengkonstruksi pemahaman konsep pada materi peluang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan selama dua kali pembelajaran. Subjek adalah seorang guru dan siswa sebanyak 25 anak. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung dengan melihat pembelajaran dan observasi tidak langsung dengan melihat video melalui handy cam, wawancara, serta catatan lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa terdapat proses sosial dan proses kognitif pada interaksi tersebut. Berdasarkan fungsi verbal menunjukkan bahwa percakapan guru memiliki fungsi sebagai berikut interrogative: 54,26 % , compositional: 16,93 % , informative: 13,97 %, reproductional: 12,58 % , expositional: 12,24 %,  judgemental: 9,91 %, organisational: 7,8 %, affective: 6,99 %. Fungsi interrogatif dan compositional tampak mendominasi interaksi guru dalam membantu siswanya memahami konsep peluang. Interaksi lain yang juga mendukung pemahaman siswa adalah fungsi informative, reproductional, expositional, judgemental,  dan affective. Abstract

In this paper we report students? reversible reasoning types on function composition problem. Reversible reasoning can be observed according to operation and structural correlation among input, process, and result.  There are seven students participate in doing function composition related to structural correlation in (f?g)(x)=h(x), The researchers assume that there are four types of reversible reasoning in composition problem, namely: (1) reversible on composition; (2) reversible on function; (3) reversible on substitution; (4) reversible on variables. However, there are only two appearing reversible reasoning, they are: reversible on function and reversible on substitution. Each type were selected a subject to be interviewed for 25 minutes and asked to do the Function Composition Task (FCT). Subject with reversible on function type identifies structural correlation among input, source and result as well as involving inverse in input with permissibility (f(y)) to produce basic function (f(x)). Meanwhile, subject with reversible on substitution type, constructs result based on the input, identifies structural similarity and generalizes from the structural similarity to produce basic function.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to identify the steps which were done by the students in solving Pythagoras? word problems. This study used qualitative research by using explorative descriptive approach. The subject of this study was four students who werein seventh grade of Junior High school of Muhammadiyah 1 Jember.  The subjects givenone problem in the form of story that had to be done based on their styles.  From the result analysis of the study was found that the students tried to understand the aim of the problems by using picture, compass direction, and Pythagoras? pattern. In solving Pythagoras? word problem, the students used representation of schematic visual. In making schematic picture, the students were supposedto be consistent with compass direction. The student that isconsistent with compass direction can make the schematic picture correctly and with a picture,the student can solve the word problems by using Pythagoras? pattern correctly. The student who is inconsistent with compass direction will get difficulties in making schematic picture and not be able to solve Pythagoras? word problems correctly.

Abstract

Abstract: Increased formula feeding was caused by lack of knowledge about the benefits of breastfeeding, low education, aggressive promotion of infant formula, and support from health care professionals. The are several cases where the infants given formula due to several conditions, like mother is unable to produce milk, small amount of milk production, absence of nipple appearance, post-op pain, pain during breastfeeding. The following study aims to determine what factors affecting Giving Infant Formula Milk Treated in Postpartum Room Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado. This study is a descriptive design with direct interview approach. The population in this research were all treated in the maternal postpartum Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado. Conclusion: The results obtained from 50 respondents show that 66% has a good knowledge about the benefits of breastfeeding, 66% says that health care professional support given infant formula, 100% says that their closest relatives support given breastfeeding, 34% is affected the promotion of infant formula, and 34% are women without complaints of breastfeeding hindrance factor. This study recommends that mothers / parents cooperate with health care professionals cooperation in order to increase the success rate of breastfeeding.Keywords: infant formula, breastfeedingAbstrak: Meningkatnya pemberian susu formula disebabkan pengetahuan kurang mengenai manfaat ASI, pendidikan yang rendah, agresifnya promosi susu formula, dukungan petugas kesehatan. Adapun bayi yang diberikan susu formula karena beberapa kondisi ibu yang mengeluh tidak keluarnya ASI, ASI kurang, puting tidak muncul, sakit bekas operasi, nyeri saat menyusui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Faktor-Faktor Apa yang mempengaruhi Pemberian Susu Formula pada Bayi yang Dirawat di Ruang Nifas RSUP Prof Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan wawancara langsung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu melahirkan dirawat di ruang nifas RSUP Prof Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari 50 responden diketahui bahwa 66% pengetahuan baik mengenai manfaat ASI, 66% petugas kesehatan mendukung pemberian susu formula, 100% orang terdekat mendukung pemberian ASI, 34% terpengaruh promosi susu formula, 34% kondisi ibu dengan tanpa keluhan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar ibu/orang tua dengan petugas kesehatan adanya kerjasama dalam keberhasilan pemberian ASI.Kata kunci: susu formula, ASI

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is to describe field dependent students? thinking process based on Mason?s thinking stcructure. Man and woman field dependent subject used all of aspect exclude introduce aspect in entry phase and why in attack phase. Man subject got stuck ones and he believed that his solution can answer the problem. Women subject get twice stuck and the solution can?t answer the problem.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir mahasiswa field dependent berdasarkan kerangka berpikir matematis Mason. Subjek field dependent laki-laki dan perempuan memenuhi semua aspek kecuali aspek introduce pada fase entry dan why pada fase attack. Perbedaannya yaitu subjek 1 mengalami stuck 1 kali dan percaya bahwa hasil pekrjaannya telah dapat menjawab persoalan dan subjek 2 mengalami 2 kali stuck dan tidak dapat menyelesaikan masalah yang diberikan.

Abstract

Abstract: This qualitative research aims to describe students' ability to solve open-ended problems based on fluency, flexibility, and novelty aspects. The study was conducted at MTsN 1 Malang. The subjects in this study were four students. The instruments used were interview guidelines and open-ended problem test. The results of this research confirm that highly ability students are able to think broadly and apply many ideas so that they are flexible in making a flat build. He fulfils the fluency, flexibility and novelty aspects. Moderate students are less able to bring up and apply many ideas in answering open-ended problems so that they meet the fluency and flexibility or fluency aspects only. Low-ability students are unable to bring up and apply many ideas to produce many answers so that they do not fulfil all three aspects.Abstrak: Penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah open-ended berdasarkan aspek fluency, flexibility, dan novelty. Penelitian dilaksanakan di MTsN 1 Malang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak empat siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan pedoman wawancara dan lembar tes masalah open-ended. Hasil penelitiannya siswa berkemampuan tinggi mampu berpikir secara luas dan menerapkan banyak ide sehingga fleksibel dalam membuat bangun datar. Ia memenuhi aspek fluency, flexibility, dan novelty. Siswa berkemampuan sedang kurang dapat memunculkan dan menerapkan banyak ide dalam menjawab masalah open-ended sehingga memenuhi aspek fluency dan flexibility atau fluency saja. Siswa berkemampuan rendah tidak mampu memunculkan dan menerapkan banyak ide untuk menghasilkan banyak jawaban sehingga tidak memenuhi ketiga aspek.

Abstract

Semiotics is simply defined as the sign-using to represent a mathematical concept in a problem-solving. Semiotic reasoning of constructing concept is a process of drawing a conclusion based on object, representamen (sign), and interpretant. This paper aims to describe the phases of semiotic reasoning of elementary students in constructing the properties of a rectangle. The participants of the present qualitative study are three elementary students classified into three levels of Adversity Quotient (AQ): quitter/AQ low, champer/AQ medium, and climber/AQ high. The results show three participants identify object by observing objects around them. In creating sign stage, they made the same sign that was a rectangular image. However, in three last stages, namely interpret sign, find out properties of sign, and discover properties of a rectangle, they made different ways. The quitter found two characteristics of rectangular objects then derived it to be a rectangle?s properties. The champer found four characteristics of the objects then it was derived to be two properties of a rectangle. By contrast, Climber found six characteristics of the sign and derived all of these to be four properties of a rectangle. In addition, Climber could determine the properties of a rectangle correctly.

Abstract

This research aims at describing students? statistical reasoning in graphics statistics representation related to distribution. The subjects of this research were students of semester IV of Program of Study Mathematics Education of Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo who have taken a basic statistics course. These subjects were chosen because they have taken a course related to descriptive statistics which discusses graphics representation and data distribution. The data collection technique used essay test related to graphics representation. In addition, an interview was also conducted to confirm students? answer. This research finding shows that statistical reasoning of semester IV students of Mathematics Education whose statistics ability is poor belong to pre-structural level and whose statistics ability is high belong to multi-structural and relational level. The high skilled students could conclude the data with statistical reason even though they used informal terms. Students with multi-structural and relational level regard that variety is a standard showing the numbers of different data among others, not on the different value from the average. Students with relational reasoning level were able to generate graphics concluding by connecting the central tendency and distribution scale.

Abstract

This research is aimed at analyzing the influence of academic service quality to the satisfaction of Master Degree Program (PPs) - Open University (UT) in the distance study unit program (UPBJJ) Mataram. The data were subsequently analyzed by double linear regression. This research finding showed that, partially the indicator of reliability dimension, responsiveness, and assurance were not influenced significantly by the students satisfaction. It was caused by the Master Degree Program UT in UPBJJ Mataram has not provided a service that is expected by the students. Otherwise the indicator of tangibles and empathy partially have significant role that influences the students satisfaction. From the five indicators, it can be seen that the empathy dimension has dominant role that influences the satisfaction of students in Master Degree Program UT in UPBJJ Mataram. Simultaneously, the quality of academic service consisted of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy that has highly significant role. The higher of service quality increased the higher of students satisfaction level in Master Degree Program UT in UPBJJ Mataram. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kualitas layanan akademik terhadap kepuasan mahasiswa Program Pascasarjana (PPs) Universitas Terbuka pada Unit Program Belajar Jarak Jauh (UPBJJ) Mataram. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, secara parsial indikator dimensi keterandalan (reliability), responsiveness dan assurance tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kepuasan mahasiswa, hal ini disebabkan PPs-UT pada UPBJJ Mataram belum memberikan pelayanan seperti yang diharapkan oleh mahasiswa. Selanjutnya, pada indikator tangibles dan empathy secara parsial memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan mahasiswa. Dari ke lima indikator tersebut, dimensi emphaty memiliki pengaruh yang paling dominan terhadap kepuasan mahasiswa Program Pascasarjana UT pada UPBJJ Mataram. Secara simultan, kualitas layanan akademik yang terdiri dari tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, dan empathy mempunyai pengaruh signifikan yang sangat tinggi, artinya semakin tinggi kualitas pelayanan maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa PPs-UT pada UPBJJ Mataram.

Abstract

Pembangunan pertanian pada dasarnya merupakan salah satu sistem pembangunan yang tidak kalah pentingnya dalam mendukung keberhasilan pembangunan nasional. Pembangunan sektor pertanian bertujuan untuk menumbuh kembangkan usaha pertanian di pedesaan yang akan memacu aktivitas ekonomi pedesaan, menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat menumbuhkan industri hulu, hilir dan penunjang dalam meningkatkan daya saing dan nilai tambah suatu produk pertanian.   Tujuan penelitian ini untuk : (i) mengetahui besar pendapatan usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi, (ii) mengetahui kelayakan usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi. Penentuan responden dilakukan dengan sengaja (purposive), Jumlah petani responden (sampel) yang diambil dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 petani padi sawah. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitiaan ini adalah analisis pendapatan dan analisisis kelayakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pendapatan usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi sebesar Rp 5.724.552/Ha. Usahatani padi sawah di Desa Karawana Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi layak diusahakan dengan nilai R/C 2,63 yang artinya bahwa setiap pengeluaran sebesar Rp 1.000,- akan menghasilkan penerimaan sebesar Rp 2.630,-.
