Abstract

A study on distribution of Malaria, Filariasis, Japanise encephalitis vectors was conducted in several areas of Central Java in 1998/1999. The result showed that larvae of An. barbirostris, An. subpictus, An. aconitus, An. vagus, An.  maculatus, An. kochi, Lutzia sp,  Cx. vishnui, Cx.pipiens quinquefasciatus,' Cx. gelidus, Lutzia sp  Cx. tritaeniorhynchus, Cx. bitaeniorhynchus and Cx. fuscocephalus werefound in the Rice field. Larvae of Ae. Albopictus and Ar. kucingensis were found in the coconut shell. Larvae of Ae. Albopictus and Malaya sp were found in the Banana leaf axil.  Larvae of Ae. Albopictus, Ae. aegypti and Cx. pipiens quinquefasciatus werefound in the artificial container. Larvae of Ae. poicilius, and Malaya sp were found  in Callocasia leaf axil. Larvae of An. barbirostris, An. vagus, An.  subpictus, An. tessellatus, Cx. vishnui, and Mn. uniformis were found  in the swamp. Larvae of ex. Pipiens quinquefasciatus were found  in the polluted water. Larvae of An.sundaicus, An. subpictus, An. barbirostris and An.  vagus werefound in the tick pond. An. maculatus, Ae. albopictus, and An. vagus larvae werefound in the rock pool. Larvae An. barbirostris, Cx. vishnui, and Cx. bitaeniorhynchus of were found  in the irrigation canal.  Larvae of ex. vishnui, and ex. fuscocephalus  were found  in the Stream pool. An. barbirostris, ex. fragilis, An. vagus, Cx. Vishnui and Cx. bitaeniorhynchus larvae were found  in the pond. Larvae of ex. vishnui were found  in the ground pool. Larvae of Ae. albopictus werefound  in the Bamboo stump. An. nigerrimus, An. peditaeniatus,. An. vagus, An. subpictus, An.  aconitus, An. annularis, An kochi, An. jlavirostris, An.    barbirostris,   An.    indevinitus   An.    tessellatus,   An.maculatus,    Cx. bitaeniorhynchus, ex.  vishnui, ex.  tritaeniorhynchus, Cx. fuscocephalus,  Mn. uniformis, Cx.pipiens quinquefasciatus, Cx. gelidus, Mn. uniformis, Ae. poicilius, Ae. subalbatus, and Ar. kuchingensis were found  in the cattle shelter during night collection. Based on the information mentioned above showed that the higher area  the less  of larvae species.  Each larval species  has  a specific breeding site. This data is usefulfor mosquito'control program.

Abstract

Abstract Prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) began to be prioritized in school since majority of DHF cases was found in school children, especially in groups of children under 15 years old. Prevention of DHF in school was implemented by teacher role as DHF health educator for student at school. This study was one of school community mobilization models in Semarang for DHF prevention programs. The model compared two methods of health education such as an active learning approach with poster and leaflet media approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementation model to knowledge, attitudes, practice (KAP) and self-efficacy of teachers in DHF in schools. This study was a quasi experiment research with community intervention studies. The research used nonequivalen control group design. The sample of the study was physical education teachers in primary school in Tembalang subdistrict (intervention group) and Pedurungan Tengah Village, Pedurungan subdistrict (comparison group) which was selected purposively. The results showed that knowledge, practices and self-efficacy of teachers which had training in active learning method was higher than the group of teachers who received education leaflets and posters. Active learning method capable significantly for improving knowledge, practices and self-efficacy of teachers in DHF prevention (p value<0,05). Teachers self efficacy as health promotor in school on the group with active learning method was higher than the group that had poster and leaflet media. Active learning method was recomended for DHF health education at primary school. Keywords : Teacher, DHF prevention, active learning     Abstrak Pencegahan demam berdarah dengue (DBD) mulai diprioritaskan pada sekolah karena sebagian besar kasus DBD dijumpai pada kelompok responden yang bersekolah, terutama pada kelompok anak berusia di bawah 15 tahun. Pencegahan DBD di sekolah salah satunya dilakukan melalui peran guru untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang DBD kepada siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu model mobilisasi komunitas sekolah di Kota Semarang untuk program pencegahan demam berdarah dengue (DBD). Model dilaksanakan dengan membandingkan 2 metode pendidikan kesehatan yaitu pendekatan pembelajaran aktif dengan pemberian poster dan leaflet. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas pelaksanaan model terhadap pengetahuan, sikap, perilaku (PSP) dan self efficacy guru sekolah dasar tentang DBD di sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan jenis studi intervensi masyarakat. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah non equivalen control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah guru pendidikan jasmani di Kecamatan Tembalang (kelompok perlakuan) dan Kelurahan Pedurungan Tengah, Kecamatan Pedurungan (kelompok pembanding) yang dipilih secara purposif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan, praktek dan self efficacy guru pada kelompok dengan pembelajaran aktif lebih tinggi daripada kelompok guru yang menerima edukasi leaflet dan poster. Metode pembelajaran aktif mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan, perilaku dan self efficacy guru dalam perilaku pencegahan DBD secara signifikan (p<0,05) daripada metode poster dan leaflet. Kepercayaan diri guru untuk menjadi promotor kesehatan di sekolah lebih besar pada kelompok dengan metode pembelajaran aktif daripada kelompok dengan metode poster dan leaflet. Metode pembelajaran aktif dapat direkomendasikan dalam pendidikan kesehatan tentang DBD di sekolah dasar.   Kata kunci : guru, pencegahan DBD, pembelajaran aktif

Abstract

Although being of less importance to the incidence of the vector-borne disease than mosquitoes, houseflies (Musca domestica) are mechanical transmitters of the disease. The chemical control carried out until now has brought about the emergence of resistance of houseflies against DDT and many other insecticides including organophosphates and carbamates. In order to look for an alternative insecticide which can control houseflies, a study was performed on the efficacy of insecticide belonging to the synthetic pyrethroid group containing 30 g/l of the active substance such as alphacypermethrin. Four dosages of insecticide with active ingredient of 30 g/l alphacypermethrin at dosages of 17.5 ml/ha, 35 ml/ha, 50 ml/ha and 70 ml/ha respectively wereused by fogging against houseflies kept in cages. The result showed that dosages of 35 ml/ha, 50 ml/ha and 70 ml/ha were all effective to kill M. domestica.

Abstract

Aedes aegypti, vector of DHF, control has been relied on insecticides to prevent the disease transmission. Vector resistance will be speeded up by frequent use of insecticides; therefore alternative insecticides should be sought and tested. In this study, an efficacy test of insecticide containing active ingredient of d-allethrin 10% and permethrin 20% against caged Ae. aegypti hang indoor and outdoor was conducted by thermal fogging application.  Both concentrations of 5 ml and 7,5 ml by product per liter diesel oil showed a knockdown effect of about 98 ? 100% in less than 60 minutes. After 24 hours holding period at the laboratory about 98 ? 100% of Ae.aegypti mortality was observed. It was concluded that the insecticide was effective in killing Ae. aegypti.
