Abstract

The ibM community service aims at training the MGMP teachers ofbiology & indonesian language subject in yogyakarta municipality and slemanregency in order to have ability to develop test which is composed of divergentand convergent test items. Also, the teachers are able to perform qualitative andquantitative analysis to the developed items.  To meet the targets, this community service was conducted using lecturing;questioning and answering; and practicing techniques. With regard tothis,the practicing technique include: (1) writing test items, (2) performing deepunderstanding to the quality of test items qualitatively, and (3) analyzing itemsusing Quest program.Then,the researches guided the teachers throgh email todevelop a test which were used in their schools. The last activity was analysingtheir data using Quest program. The findings of this activity, the teachers had succesfully produced ablue print and a set of sample items  both divergent and convergent model andit was review between the participants. After each participants conducted of thetest administration on each school, the result of the Quest analysis showed thatsome items of the test was conducted by 21 MGMP teachers of biology subject& 16 MGMP teachers of indonesian language subject didn?t fit with the partialcredit model. That is because not all teachers are able to develop a good itemaand also the minimum of samples was tested by politomus scale items. As aresult, estimates do not achieve the expected results

Abstract

This study aims to produce a model of standardized convergent and divergentintegrated-assessment instruments for Indonesian and English learning outcomes atjunior high schools using Item Response Theory. It employed a research and developmentdesign. In the first year, a learning continuum was developed, followed by the developmentof integrated assessment instruments based on the learning continuum. Instrumentstandardization was then conducted using 1-PL Item Response Theory and the QUESTprogram. The results of the first year were 30 standardized integrated assessmentinstrument sets, a guidebook for construction of the integrated assessment instruments forlanguage learning outcomes and the QUEST program guidebook. In the second year, theintegrated assessment instruments for language learning outcomes were disseminated inprovinces of Yogyakarta Special Territory, South Kalimantan, and West Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Abstract School reading culture is one of the thinking quality improvement assets of the individual which has potential for raising the graduate quality. This investigation was an effort to get the idea of reading culture in school, teachers, and pupils, in the city of Yogyakarta. A study was done using 42 primary school  teachers of seven schools in the city of Yogyakarta. In addition, 324 pupils taught by these teachers were also involved in this study. A questionnaire was developed and tested, used to collect  the data. Description method analysis was used. The result indicated as following. (1) the reading culture of the primary school teachers in Yogyakarta city was found generally high supported by reading facilities at home as well as in school. It had an association with the fact that many teachers succeeded with their university program. (2) Primary school pupils? reading culture was found high both those who had reading facilities at home and those who had not. The correlate of the reading culture was the education and the occupation their parents. Keywords: reading culture, teacher and pupil, primary school

Abstract

Abstract Quantitative and Qualitative research have completely different paradigm. This paradigm implies to the difference in the research methodology and quality indicator. Quality indicators from a certain research could be seen from its validity and reliability. Quantitative research standard quality lies in its research instrument and its measurement. For that reason the instrument should have been measure on its validity and reliability. On the other hand, since a qualitative research  has different paradigm, the specification of validity and reliability are not the same. The standard specifications are: (1) credibility (2) transferability (3) dependability (4) conformability .The quality of qualitative research should be seen from that standard. Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at finding out the effectiveness of a groundstroke skill instructional model for the beginner tennis players among the 8 university students. The population was the students of the 2001 and 2002 academic years of the Department of Sport Trainer Education, Faculty of Sport Science, of the State University of Yogyakarta,who took the Lawn Tennis as one of their compulsory courses. The sample was 26 students chosen randomly from the total of 48 students of the 2001 academic years students and 22  students chosen randomly from the total of 39 students of the 2002 academic year students. The students of the 2001 academic year took the course conducted by the open instructional model, while the students of the 2002 academic year took the course conducted by the closed instructional model. The results of the analysis indicates that: (1) there is no differences in groundstroke skills between  the tennis players learn by open model and those learn by the closed model, (2) the tennis players with high coordination capability perform better groundstroke skills than those with the lower coordination capability, and (3) there is no interaction between instructional model and coordination capability with respect to their effect on the students groundstroke skills. Abstract

Bahasa adalah organisme yang hidup; organ-organnya selalu ada yang tetap tinggal, menyusut atau berkembang. Beberapa hal dapat terjadi dengan perkembangan ini, antara lain terjadinya perubahan makna pada taraf leksikon bahasa atau disebut juga dengan perubahan semantik leksikal bahasa. Perubahan semantik leksikal yang biasanya diikuti oleh perubahan fonetik merupakan gejala yang wajar dalam suatu bahasa. Demikian pula dalam bahasa Indonesia. Dalam perkembangannya ternyata semantik leksikal bahasa Indooesia juga mengalami perubahan-perubahan. Di kalangan remaja karena kemajuan zaman timbul tuntutan untuk mengendarai sepeda motor. "Hooda" adalah salah satu merk sepeda motor yang ada di samping Suzuki, Yamaha atau yang lain. Tetapi sekarang ini dalam masyarakat timbul istilah "Honda" yang juga bermakna merk-merk sepeda motor yang lain. Makna "Honda" sudah mengalami perluasan. Demikian' pula untuk ?Kodak? dan ?Odol?.
