Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi pembelajaran dengan teknik observasi lingkungan berbasis kearifan lokal di sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang dipadukan dengan pendekatan kuantatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah dan guru sekolah dasar yang mewakili empat  kecamatan di Banyuwangi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum, para guru belum membuat perencanaaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran menggunakan teknik observasi lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan potensi kearifan lokal. Hal ini terjadi karena guru belum memahami secara tepat proses pembelajaran menggunakan teknik observasi lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan potensi kearifan lokal. Karena itu, perlu disusun acuan yang jelas dan operasional sebagai pedoman bagi guru dalam penyusunan RPP, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Kata-kata kunci: kearifan lokal, pembelajaran, dan observasi lingkungan

Abstract

All members of a society master at least one language and use it ininteraction and communication by which they are able to conduct social functionsto express their nature as social beings. As social activities, the interaction andcommunication reflect cultural products expressed in conversational discourse.With regards to the speech act theory, the discourse always occurs in a speechsituation, in which a speech event occurs. Speech events consist of speech acts. Onthe basis of these paradigms, we can conclude that in nature discourse is a set ofspeech acts so that the speech act theory can be used as an approach to analyzingdiscourses.Keywords: speech acts, discourse, discourse analysisA.

Abstract

Abstract: Critical-creative reading activity in junior high school has been facing a difficulty of effectiveness material unavailability. It has drives a research development to produce critical-creative reading material for junior high school student. Generally, this research aimed to produce critical-creative reading material for junior high school student. For instance, this research aimed (1) to produce critical-crative reading material for junior high scholar which forms into a book, and (2) to learn about the effectiveness of this material to increase student?s critical-creative reading. This research used Educational Research and Development (R & D) model as a research approachment. Furthermore, this research has been taken seven steps and consisted into three, (1) product planning and development, (2) product testing which include experts and practitioners test, product revision, and product test itself, and (3) product finishing. Finally, the result from experts and practitioners had concluded that the content of this product is proper to use as a critical-creative reading material. Last but not least, the field test had shown the effectiveness of this product.Key Words: material, critical-creative readingAbstrak: Pelaksanaan pembelajaran membaca kritis-kreatif di SMP terkendala oleh tidak tersedianya bahan ajar yang efektif. Hal tersebut mendorong dilakukannya penelitian pengembangan bahan ajar membaca kritis-kreatif untuk siswa SMP. Secara umum, penelitian ini bertujuan menghasil­kan bahan ajar membaca kritis-kreatif untuk siswa SMP. Secara khusus, penelitian ini bertujuan (1) menghasilkan bahan ajar membaca kritis-kreatif untuk siswa SMP yang dikemas dalam bentuk buku, dan (2) mengkaji keefektifan bahan ajar tersebut untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis-kreatif siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan mengacu pada model Educational Research and Deve­lopment (R & D) dengan mengambil tujuh langkah yang terbagi dalam tiga tahap, yaitu (1) ta­hap perencanaan dan pengem­bangan produk mencakup langkah pengumpulan infor­masi, perencanaan produk, pe­ngembangan produk awal, (2) tahap pengujian pro­duk mencakup langkah uji ah­li dan praktisi, revisi produk, dan uji produk, dan (3) tahap penyempurnaan pro­duk mencakup langkah penyempurnaan produk akhir. Hasil uji ahli dan praktisi menyatakan produk tersebut layak digu­nakan sebagai bahan ajar membaca kritis-kreatif untuk siswa SMP kelas VIII baik dari segi isi, penyajian, dan kegrafikaannya. Hasil uji lapangan menyatakan produk tersebut sangat efektif untuk mening­katkan kemampuan membaca kritis-kreatif siswa.Kata kunci: bahan ajar, membaca kritis-kreatif

Abstract

This article aims to describe a variety of traditional expressions used by Using community at Banyuwangi in speaking. The variety of expressions is studied from the form, usage, and cultural meaning in communication. The data of traditional expression speech presented in the description sources from conversation of Using community in various speech situations. The result of the study shows that there are 6 categories of traditional expressions used in the Using speech community. The variety of the expressions used by the speaker to express a message, thoughts, feelings, or opinions to the speaking participan. Various things that can be conveyed through expression are praise, anger, aggravation, suggestions or advice, and pleasure. Using community utilizes the expressions to criticize, comment, ridicule, reassuring, stated, praising, reprimanding or blaming, complaining, remind, advise, and ask or beg. All of them are reflecting Using community culture in daily speech.

Abstract

Banyuwangi folksongs are the cultural product of the Using ethnic community. They are the results of the interaction between the Using people and their natural and socio-cultural surroundings. As cultural products, the folksongs contain utterances having distinct characteristics, which, from a theoretical point of view, are cultural expression of the Using people. These utterances have a variety of speech styles reflecting the diversity of communication strategies of Using people. These various speech styles serve to unite ideas and make them coherent, to articulate and emphasize the meaning of the utterances, and to develop the characteristics of the utterances. In the Using language, the use of these various speech styles reflect the social dynamics of the Using people in expressing politeness in their speech.

Abstract

The Banyuwangi folksongs, which from theoretical perspective are an expression of the culture of Using people. The folksongs are cultural product of the Using ethnic, which is a result of the interaction of the Using people with their natural and social-cultural surroundings. As a cultural product, the utterance of this folksongs has distinct characteristics. The variety of vocabulary in an utterance reflects the dynamics on communication and social life of its speakers. The differences of cultural content in the vocabulary of the utterance are caused by the differences in the strategy of adaptation and perception pattern of the people towards the natural and social-cultural environment. For a language which does not have hierarchy of register, the utterance style of that language is used by its speakers as politeness strategy to distinguish the social classes in speech.

Abstract

People need communication in their daily activities. The term cross cultural communication is used to refer to communication conducted by people of different culture. This type of communication normally occurs in a diglosic community where two or more ethnic groups live together. In conducting communication, each of the ethnic group will apply and share their language and socio-cultural norms accepted by each other. All participants of communication are tied by rules that live in the speech community. Although they attempt to obey the norms, culturally the characteristic of each ethnic is still observed at the verbal attitude of their speech. In this case, we can observe the characteristic of speech act usage when speaking to other etnics, especially to Javanese and Madurese. Some factors which influence the etnic groups to choose the verbal attitude are a social distance, power, social variable, and cultural values.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan nasional Indonesia saat ini masih menghadapi berbagai masalah. Capaian hasil pendidikan masih belum memenuhi hasil yang diharapkan. Pembelajaran di sekolah belum mampu membentuk secara utuh pribadi lulusan yang mencerminkan karakter dan budaya bangsa. Proses pendidikan masih menitikberatkan dan memfokuskan capaiannya secara kognitif. Sementara, aspek afektif pada diri peserta didik yang merupakan bekal kuat untuk hidup di masyarakat belum dikembangkan secara optimal. Karena itu, pendidikan karakter dan budaya bangsa merupakan seatu keniscayaan untuk dikembangkan di sekolah. Sekolah sebagai pusat perubahan perlu mengupayakan secara sungguh-sungguh pendidikan yang berbasis karakter dan budaya bangsa. Karakter dan budaya bangsa yang dikembangkan di sekolah harus diselaraskan dengan karakter dan budaya lokal, regional, dan nasional. Untuk itu, pendidikan karakter dan budaya bangsa perlu dikembangkan berdasarkan kearifan lokal. Kata Kunci: pendidikan karakter, budaya bangsa, dan kearifan lokal

Abstract

Teaching Indonesian for Foreign Learners or Indonesian as a Foreign Language (IFL) is different from teaching Indonesian as a first language. The differences are due to the characteristics of the learners. IFL learners generally are adults who have language and cultural background and learning style different from those Indonesian learners have. These differences demand IFL teachers and instructors to prepare teaching-learning materials and the activities of the teaching-learning process in the classroom that are relevant to the learners’ needs. Understanding the entry level behavior of the learners, the teaching materials, the teaching-learning approach, and the evalution process is of crucial importance in order to fulfill their needs. Learning needs analysis of IFL learners is also a prerequisite to developing adequate teaching-learning materials of IFL.

Abstract

Slogan is a striking and easily remembered statement or sentence used to advertise something or to make clear the aim(s) of group, organization, campaign, etc. The discourse consists of some propositions, but most are not explicitly uttered, called zero form propositions. Thus, slogan is a discourse that different from common discourses. Analysts or readers need to know the entire propsitions that constitute the slogan to understand what it means. They must understand the speech context and speech event that create and support the slogan. Therefore, a speech act approach is relevant to the analysis.
