Abstract

This research and development study aims to produce models of teaching kits forwriting based on the genre process approach for junior high school students. The procedure employed the R2D2 model, consisting of three main stages, i.e. (1) definition, (2) design and development, and (3) dissemination. The data consisted of qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were analyzed using the domain analysis technique with critical and reflective principles, while the quantitative data were analyzed using t-test with SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The study produces five models, i.e.: (1) a syllabus model, (2) a lesson plan model, (3) a learning materials model, (4) an evaluation instrument model, and (5) a teacher guide model of the teaching of writing. Based on the data analysis, the five models of teaching kits for writing are effective to improve the students? writing ability.

Abstract

EVALUASI DIRI STRATEGI BELAJAR MAHASISWAPROGRAM STUDI MAGISTER PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INDONESIAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil evaluasi diri strategi belajar mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Program Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen angket evaluasi diri dengan skala likert. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, sebelum perkuliahan, sebagian besar mahasiswa memperhatikan silabus, mencari referensi, dan melaksanakan tugas. Tetapi, sebagian besar mahasiswa jarang membaca referensi dan menyiapkan pertanyaan. Kedua, selama perkuliahan, semua mahasiswa memperhatikan, mendiskusikan, dan melaksanakan tugas perkuliahan. Tetapi, sebagian besar mahasiswa jarang mencatat dan mengajukan pertanyaan. Ketiga, setelah perkuliahan semua mahasiswa mengerjakan tugas. Tetapi, sebagian besar mahasiswa jarang mendiskusikan perkuliahan, membaca berbagai referensi dan mencari artikel jurnal internasional. Sehubungan dengan itu, untuk memperoleh hasil belajar yang baik, pengelola Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Program Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta perlu memiliki manajemen yang baik dan mengimplementasikan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat, yakni strategi pemutakhiran metode pembelajaran sesuai kebutuhan pasar dan perkembangan jaman.Kata kunci: evaluasi diri, strategi belajar, perkuliahanAbstractThis study was aimed at describing the results of students? self-evaluationon their learning strategies. The subjects of the studywere all graduatestudents of the Indonesian Language Education Program at Yogyakarta State University. The data were collected using a questionnaire of self-evaluation using the Likert scale. The data were analyzed through quantitative descriptive techniques. The results show the following. First, before class, most students focus only on the syllabus, search references, and perform tasks. However, most students rarely read references and prepare questions. Secondly, during class, all students pay attention, do discussions, and carry out lecture duties. However, most students rarely take notes and ask questions. Third, after class, all students do the assignments. However, most students rarely discuss lectures, read references and search for international journal articles. In order to obtain a good learning result, the personnel of the Indonesian Education Study Program need to apply good management and implement the right learning strategies in updating the learning method according to market needs and the development of the era.Keywords: self-evaluation, learning strategy, lecture activity

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendidikan karakter di SD, SMP, dan SMA di Kota Yogyakarta. Penelitian survei ini mengambil sampel dengan teknik area cluster random sampling sehingga diperoleh sampel satu sekolah untuk SD dan SMA dan dua sekolah untuk SMP untuk wilayah Yogyakarta bagian Utara, Selatan, Barat, dan Timur. Instrumen pengum- pul data berupa angket dan analisis dokumen. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah sebagai berikut. Menurut pendapat para guru, perencanaan pendidikan karakter di sekolah-sekolah Kota Yogyakarta sudah dilakukan dengan cukup baik, tetapi berdasarkan analisis RPP yang dibuat oleh guru, ada beberapa RPP yang belum mengandung nilai-ni- lai target yang akan dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di sekolah sudah dipadukan dalam berbagai mata pelajaran. Penilaian pengetahuan dan kemauan untuk meng- aktualisasikan nilai-nilai target pendidikan karakter baru pada sebagian soal-soal yang dibuat guru, sedangkan penilaian perilaku yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai target dilakukan oleh kebanyakan guru hanya dengan wawancara. Kata Kunci: pemetaan, implementasi, dan pendidikan karakter

Abstract

As a product of media, advertisements in both print and electronic media withtheir hegemony are made to persuade readers or listeners to act as the advertisements wish,namely buying the advertised products. Based on an analysis of mass media, inadvertisements by cellular phone operators, there is a price war as a strategy to attractconsumers. Each cellular phone operator tries to show an image that the company offersthe lowest price. This may influence and deceive consumers as the party that is forced touse the company?s service. In practice, an offer with a low price usually needs a conditionand requirement that consumers have not known before. Therefore, it is necessary thatconsumers should be selective and critical in digesting an advertisement made by a cellularphone operator offering a low price.Keywords: advertisement, cellular phone operator, mass media

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan: (1) proses peningkatan kemampuan bercerita dan peningkatan proses pembelajaran bercerita dengan menggunakan media kartu skenario, (2) hasil peningkatan kemampuan bercerita dan peningkatan proses pembelajaran bercerita dengan menggunakan media kartu skenario. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kelas. Variabel penelitian meliputi variabel bebas berupa penggunaan media kartuskenario, dan variabel terikat berupa kemampuan belajar. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini diimplementasikan pada peserta didik kelas III di SD Negeri 08 VI Suku Solok karena diindikasikan bahwa kemampuan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran bercerita masih rendah. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester I tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah berupa tes, observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu skenario dalam pembelajaran bercerita terbukti berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan dan proses pembelajaran bercerita siswa. Kemampuan bercerita peserta didik mengalami peningkatan, yaitu dari rata-rata 70,86 pada siklus 1 menjadi 80,00 pada siklus 2 dengan klasifikasi baik. Ketuntasan belajar klasikal dari 40% di siklus 1 meningkat menjadi 77% di siklus 2. Aktivitas guru dalam proses pembelajaran menunjukkan rata-rata 75,00 diklasifikasikan baik pada siklus 1 menjadi 86,00 pada siklus 2 dengan klasifikasi sangat baik. Aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dari rata-rata 72,07 pada siklus 1 menjadi 82,93 pada siklus 2 dengan klasifikasi sangat baik. Jadi pelaksanaan tindakan mengguna-kan media kartu skenario telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini, yakni nilai perolehan rata-rata kemampuan bercerita ≥75,00 dan ketuntasan belajar klassikal mencapai 75%. Pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran baik dari aktivitas guru maupun aktivitas siswa memperoleh rata-rata >80,00 dengan klasifikasi sangat baik. Dengan demikian penggunaan media kartu skenario dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita dan dapat meningkatkan proses pembelajaran bercerita siswa kelas III di SD Negeri 08 VI Suku, Solok. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________IMPROVING THE STORYTELLING ABILITY OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 08 VI SUKU, SOLOK THROUGH SCENARIO CARDSABSTRACT This study aims to describe: (1) the process of improving the students’ storytelling ability and learn-ing process by using scenario cards, (2) the result of improving the students’ storytelling ability and learning process by using scenario cards. This study used the action research design. The variables of the research included an independent variable in the form of the use of scenario cards and a dependent variable in the form of storytelling abilities. This research was implemented to the students of Class III,  SDN  08 VI Suku since it was indicated that the storytelling ability and the learning process in storytelling were still low. This research was conducted in the first semester of the school year of 2013/2014. The data collection techniques used were atest, observation, field notes, and documentation. The study revealed that the use of scenario cards in the teaching and learning process of storytelling improves the students’ storytelling abilities and learning process. The students’ storytelling abilities have improved from the overall mean of 70.86 in the first cycle to 80.00 in the second cycle, that is from good into very good. The mean of the teachers’ activity in the learning process was 75.00 and classified good in the first cycle changed to 86.00 in the second cycle and classified very good. The mean of the students’ activity in the teaching process was 72.07 and classified good in the first cycle changed to 82.93 in the second cycle and classified very good. In short, the use of scenario cards was successful in this study, that is the mean of students’ storytelling abilities ≥ 75 and classical  mastery learning 75%. The mean of the learning process from either teacher’s activities or students’ activities was > 80.00 and classified very good. Thereby, the use of scenario cards can improve the students’ storytelling ability and teaching process in Class III SDN 08 VI Suku, Solok. Keywords: storytelling abilities, scenario cards media

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan dan mengetahui keefektifan buku pelajaran tematik-integratif dengan tema “Mari Bermain Sambil Berolahraga” berbasis nilai karakter disiplin dan tanggung jawab untuk peserta didik kelas III SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model Brog & Gall. Uji coba produk melibatkan 67 peserta didik kelas III SD 2 Padokan Bantul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan buku pelajaran yang dikembangkan dari aspek kelayakan isi berkategori “sangat baik”, aspek kebahasaan berkategori “sangat baik”, aspek penyajian berkategori “sangat baik”, dan aspek kegrafikaan berkategori “sangat baik”. Hasil untuk nilai karakter disiplin menunjukkan uji-t= -3,110 dengan P sebesar 0,000 dan nilai karakter tanggung jawab menunjukkan hasil uji-t= -4,440 dengan P sebesar 0,003. Selain itu, nilai hasil belajar menunjukkan 100% peserta didik tuntas dalam pembelajaran. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ DEVELOPMENT THEMATIC-INTEGRATIF TEXTBOOKS BASED ON DISCIPLINE AND RESPONSIBILITY VALUES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLABSTRACT This study aims to: produce and determine the effectiveness of thematic-integrative textbooks with the theme of "Lets Play while Exercising" based on discipline and responsibility values. This study is a Research and Development (R & D) with a Brog and Gall model. The tryout involved 67 students of grade III in Padokan Bantul Elementary School 2. This is evidenced by the results of expert evaluation showing the textbooks  developed is terms of the feasibility contents category is "very good", aspects of language category is "very good", aspects of presentation category is "very good", and aspect of grapichlly category is "very good". As for discipline value results of t-test = -3.110 with P values of 0.000 and the value of responsibilities results of t-test = -4.440 with P values 0.003. Abstract

This study aims to find out the contribution of reading habit, vocabulary mastery, and grammar mastery to the experience writing skill of the 5th grade students of state elementary schools in Bambanglipuro Subdistrict, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This study is an ex-post facto using the correlational quantitative research approach. The population comprised all 5th grade students of state elementary schools in Bambanglipuro Subdistrict, Bantul, Yogyakarta totaling 300 students. A sample of 169 students was established using the proportional random sampling technique. The instruments consisted of a test and questionnaire. The test was used to measure the vocabulary mastery, grammar mastery, and experience writing skill. The questionnaire was used to measure reading habit. The data were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis. The results show that there is a significant and positive contribution among reading habit, vocabulary mastery, and grammar mastery to the experience writing skill.
