Abstract

Magnum Manufacturers need to consider the differences between women and men in decision-making purchase of Magnum ice cream. On this basis, the purpose of this study was to (1) Magnum television advertising effectiveness analysis in communicating the advertising message by gender in student-Tier 1, Bogor Agricultural University, (2) analyze the factors that influence the purchase of real students by gender in the purchase Wall's Magnum ice cream by student stratum-1 Institut Pertanian Bogor. Analysis of the data used are Consumer Decision Model (CDM) and Canonical Correlation Analysis with the help of MINITAB 14, SPSS for Windows version 16.0 , Ms Excel and STATISTICA 8.Results of canonical correlation analysis based on respondents generally produced three factors that most influence the purchase of real to buy Magnum ice cream, namely factors friend (0666), knowledge of attributes (0519), trust (0515), and advertising (0.56).The results of the analysis of students based on canonical correlation produced three factors that influence the purchase of real to buy cream of Magnum of ice, i.e., factor of student (0.816), confidence (0.736), and personality (0.725). In students, the most influential factor is the factor of sales people and advertisements.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to find the effectiveness of social media used by Wall's Magnum ice cream based on the characteristics of the expenditure and (2) to analyze the factors that influence consumer purchasing decisions of Wall's Magnum ice cream based on characteristics of the expenditure. The research framework is using the Consumer Decision Model which analyze by regression analysis and consumer purchasing decisions model which analyze by descriptive analysis. The correlations between both models were analyzed by Canonical Correlation using of MINITAB 14, SPSS 16.00, Ms Excel and STATISTICA 8. The path analysis by CDM model for respondent with ? Rp 800,000 expenditure and for respondent with > Rp 800.000 were showing effectiveness of information about Wall's Magnum sent through social media. However, the path analysis showed that CDM model for respondent with ? Rp 800,000 expenditure is more effective rather than the CDM model and for respondent with > Rp 800.000. The results of canonical correlation analysis showed the most influencing factors on purchase decisions for respondent with the expense ? Rp 800,000 are brand and place of purchase, mean while the most influencing factors for respondent with the expenditure> Rp 800,000 are previous experience and packaging.

Abstract

Manajemen mutu merupakan salah satu kunci sukses perusahaan untuk memenangkan pasar dan mencapai tujuaannya. Begitu juga yang harus dilakukan oleh Agribussiness Development Center (ADC) Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB)-Taiwan International Cooperative Development Fund (ADC IPB-ICDF Taiwan). Produk unggulan dari perusahaan adalah jambu Kristal yaitu buah dengan biji yang sedikit, rasa manis dan renyah. Tahun 2012, perusahaan hanya mampu memenuhi sebesar 31% permintaan pasar atas jambu Kristal grade A, serta grade B+, B dan C mencapai 69%. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah Analisis Defect per Opportunity (DPO), Analisis Defect per million Opportunity (DPMO), Diagram alir proses (Process Flow Diagram), Diagram pareto (Pareto Chart), Peta kendali, Diagram Sebab Akibat (Fishbone Diagram), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) dan Metode Six Sigma. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, terdapat enam Critical To Quality (CTQ) antara lain pembibitan, kondisi lingkungan, pemupukan, perawatan, panen dan pasca panen. Hasil perhitungan kapabilitas sigma selama tahun 2012 masih berada kisaran 2-sigma. Hal ini menunjukkan masih banyak defect dan kapabilitas sigma berada di bawah target (3,4 DPMO). Dengan demikian, untuk saat ini ADC IPB-ICDF Taiwan, Bogor masih belum realistis untuk mengaplikasikan six sigma dikarenakan produk agribisnis yang rentan dan dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor alam yang sulit untuk dikendalikan.Kata kunci : jambu Kristal, pengendalian mutu, six sigma

Abstract

Abstract: The success of national education goals in particular should pay attention to the educational component of human resources. One effort to improve the quality of schools can be done by strengthening teacher’s work commitment with taking into account the principal’s leadership and work motivation of teachers. Based on these problems, this study aims to determine and analyze influence of principal leadership and work motivation of teachers to work commitment of teachers in SDIT Ummul Quro’ in the Bogor. Instrument testing methods used SPSS software 16.00 and the hypothesis testing used structural equation model (SEM) with Smart PLS software. Characteristics of teacher respondents SDIT Ummul Quro’ is dominated by women, married, educated bachelor, aged 30–39 years and has worked in SDIT Ummul Quro’ for 8–15 years. One way ANOVA test results and treatment outcome descriptive that there was no difference in the commitment of teachers working for gender, age, education level, marital status and duration of work.The results of frequency distribution shows that the majority of respondents have a good perception on school leadership, teacher work motivation and work commitment of teachers. Based on the analysis of SEM with PLS approach, it is known that principal leadership significantly influence teacher’s commitment to work, either directly or through the first teacher work motivation. Furthermore, in Model 1 principal leadership variables significantly influence the work motivation of teachers and the work motivation of teachers was ultimately significantly affect teacher’s work commitments. It can be concluded that the principal leadership variables and the work motivation of teachers significantly influence teacher’s work commitments.   Keywords: principal leadership, teacher work motivation, commitment work teacher, Partial Least Squares (PLS).

Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the main commodities in Indonesia . The production of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) in Indonesia has increased significantly in recent years. The palm oil industry is often accused of causing environmental degradation because some of the cultivation and processing practices are suspected to cause greenhouse gas emissions. The Government has implemented the obligations of certification of Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) in accordance with the Government of Indonesia's commitment to improve the sustainability of the Indonesian palm oil industry. The objectives of this research are (1) To identify and analyze the impact of risk on environment, social and governance (ESG Risk) at each stage of oil palm cultivation and processing. (2) To identify and analyze the level of readiness to fulfill ISPO requirements (3). Determine the recommendations of risk control in the cultivation and processing of oil palm. The method used in this research is descriptive and analytic method which is a case study. Results of analysis at PT. London Sumatra (Lonsum) especially at Arta Kencana Estate, Lahat, South Sumatera which was not ISPO Certified yet, shows that there are 16 ESG risks and the highest is related to the preparation stage of the land area.  Risk control recommended is Risk Avoidance. Arta Kencana Estate in general have fulfilled almost all of the requirements for compliance with required principles with an average index of 8.86.  Arta Kencana Estate are need to complete and perform administrative improvements and requirements documents to be able to meet the gap. In this study found that the ESG risk on palm oil can be mitigated through the fulfillment of ISPO principles.

Abstract

Cindy Group is a company grouped as SMEs which produces boiled fish, both traditional and hygienic. Companies to keep their survival in order to survive in a competitive market, must have a strategy to attract consumers to buy their products. One of the best strategy is to evaluate and develop appropriate marketing strategies. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify and analyze internal and external factors influencing Cindy Group marketing strategy, (2) to formulate Cindy Group marketing strategy, and (3) to prioritize Cindy Group marketing strategy. Based on internal and external factors, Cindy Group formulated strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats toward marketing strategy using Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE). The total score in the IFE and EFE matrices illustrated that the firm's stable position in responding to external situations. The total IFE score of 3.3436 indicated that the strengths of Cindy Group could overcome the weaknessess very well. Total EFE score of 2.5545 indicated that Cindy Group was good enough to respond the opportunities and minimize threats. Based on QSPM analysis, the priority strategy to be applied in the marketing of fishery processed products at UMKM Cindy Group which was expanding marketing network, maintaining quality, increasing sales service and increasing cooperation with related institutions and cooperatives/other SMEs in order to get raw material access.

Abstract

The job design that is accommodative with the organization objective is vital to create efficiency in job performance, develop work satisfaction, and accelerate productivity. In SPR, a manager acts as a collective business coordinator. The objectives of this research were to analyze the difference of job characterization between SPR managers and Sentra PR managers and develop an appropriate job design. The necessary of identification of job characterization is to predict a successful job. The characterization was identified based on task, knowledge, social, and contextual characteristics. Samples were collected by interview and questionnaire. Sampling method used purposive sampling to 28 SPR managers in Indonesia, by then processed by t-test using SPSS versi 21.00.  This research proved that SPR managers have a higher value in job characterization from several perspective, that is: task characteristic (task identity), knowledge characteristics (problem solving and skill variety) and social characteristic (feedback from others), however, there was no difference on contextual characteristic off those groups. The job design is created based on job characteristics such as task variety, problem solving, social support, and physical demands. The job design contains information about job description and qualification of SPR managers. Qualifications needed included education (bachelor degree from various majors), knowledge (about field conditions, local community, administration, reporting, and having knowledge of livestock will bean added value), skills and abilities (leadership and motivating farmers, initiatives and able to solve problems, entrepreneurial skills, good communication and negotiation skills, can operate computers and use the internet), and behavior (careful, disciplin, patient, innovative, creative, and hard-working).

Abstract

Study of Aquarium Decorative Plant Business Prospect at Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group in Ciawi, Bogor Regency aims to identify the business feasibility in business development, formulating the right strategy in the business development, to evaluate the performance of Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group by using Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach and to identify partnership level category of aquarium decorative plant small industry. The result study was obtained the Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp. 188.455.000,00, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 38,63%, Profitability Index (PI) 1,15 and Net B/C ratio 1,67, indicating the this business is considered to be feasible to be grown. Calculation result of payback (PBP) this period was identified that the investment payback period is 2 years 3 months 18 days and shorter than investment life period for 5 years, so it is feasible and profitable. Based on result of strategy analysis by using Strenghts, Weaknesess, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis, the right strategy in the business development of Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group by maintaining and improving product quality in accordance with the customers wants, maintaining and improving the business/partnership relations with exporters and suppliers. The result of the analysis of Internal-External (IE) matrix showed an internal factor of 2.702 and an external factor of 2.516, which put the business in quadrant V, which are growth and stability. It means they must defend strategy that they have been using up till now, and they must increase developing strategy of business. Result of evaluation with  Balanced Scorecard (BSC) indicates that financial performance from 2003-2007 in aquarium decorative plant business at  Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group was fairly good seen from liquidity, solvability, efficiency in taking advantage of assets,  net profits obtained, effectiveness and productivity in making use of assets owned and in receivables collection. Based on the result of study from customer perception with six attribute dimensions the service quality is fairly satisfactory. Seeing from after sales service level, operation/production process and innovation process show that internal business of Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group is considered fairly good. Observing from performance aspect, organizational restructuring aspect, learning dynamic aspect, group member satisfaction level aspect, knowledge management aspect, empowerment aspect and technology application aspect indicate that from growth and learning perspectives at Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group is considered fairly good. Partnership level between Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group with PT. Nusantara Aquatic Exporindo and CV. Cahaya Baru is included in First Prime Partnership Level. While the partnership level between Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group with CV. Tropical Aquatic is included in Secondary Prime Partnership Level.

Abstract

Trade Facilitation Agreement mandates each member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including Indonesia, to simplify the trade system in order to facilitate trade flows between countries. Inatrade is an information technology-based system that was built by the Ministry of Trade that aims to provide services of export and/or import procedure fastrer and more transparent. In order to determine the effectiveness of Inatrade services, it is necessary to identify the dominant factors, actors, and indicators that influence to the improvement of the service quality. This study aims to determine the conditions of service horticultural products import license, to identify the dominant factors, actors, and indicators which influence services, and to formulate strategies needed to improve the quality of licensing services at the Ministry of Trade. The research used analytical tools of Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix (IFE), External Factor Evaluation Matrix (EFE), SWOT and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the result analiysis it was concluded that the licensing mechanism based integrated information technology and monitoring and evaluation system regularly including aspects of the systems, human resources and legal basis as a best strategy to improve the quality of services.

Abstract

To compete with other schools, Sampoerna High School has been implementing advertisement programs in printed and electronic media. Moreover, advertisement programs that have been implementing are to increase brand awareness in public. The main aim of this research is to analyze factors that influencing. Previous researches and literatures review show that advertisement?s effectiveness is effected by the endorser's quality, the appropriate selecting of advertisement media and the attractiveness of advertisement?s message. Then the advertisement?s effectiveness enhances the brand awareness.   The respondents are the parents of Sampoerna High School?s students who live in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek). The data collected by a cencus to 80 parents on July to October 2014. The data that collected has processed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result of SEM analysis indicates that the attractiveness of advertisement?s message has significant effect to effectiveness of advertisement, and advertisement?s effectiveness shows significant effect to brand awareness? enhancement. Moreover, the appropriate selecting of advertisement media also shows significant effect to brand awareness. Based on the results, in order to have an effective advertisement in gaining brand awareness of Sampoerna High School, the approach of the advertisement campaign should be focusing on enhancement of the attractiveness advertisement?s message
