Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the main commodities in Indonesia . The production of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) in Indonesia has increased significantly in recent years. The palm oil industry is often accused of causing environmental degradation because some of the cultivation and processing practices are suspected to cause greenhouse gas emissions. The Government has implemented the obligations of certification of Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) in accordance with the Government of Indonesia's commitment to improve the sustainability of the Indonesian palm oil industry. The objectives of this research are (1) To identify and analyze the impact of risk on environment, social and governance (ESG Risk) at each stage of oil palm cultivation and processing. (2) To identify and analyze the level of readiness to fulfill ISPO requirements (3). Determine the recommendations of risk control in the cultivation and processing of oil palm. The method used in this research is descriptive and analytic method which is a case study. Results of analysis at PT. London Sumatra (Lonsum) especially at Arta Kencana Estate, Lahat, South Sumatera which was not ISPO Certified yet, shows that there are 16 ESG risks and the highest is related to the preparation stage of the land area.  Risk control recommended is Risk Avoidance. Arta Kencana Estate in general have fulfilled almost all of the requirements for compliance with required principles with an average index of 8.86.  Arta Kencana Estate are need to complete and perform administrative improvements and requirements documents to be able to meet the gap. In this study found that the ESG risk on palm oil can be mitigated through the fulfillment of ISPO principles.

Abstract

Cindy Group is a company grouped as SMEs which produces boiled fish, both traditional and hygienic. Companies to keep their survival in order to survive in a competitive market, must have a strategy to attract consumers to buy their products. One of the best strategy is to evaluate and develop appropriate marketing strategies. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify and analyze internal and external factors influencing Cindy Group marketing strategy, (2) to formulate Cindy Group marketing strategy, and (3) to prioritize Cindy Group marketing strategy. Based on internal and external factors, Cindy Group formulated strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats toward marketing strategy using Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE). The total score in the IFE and EFE matrices illustrated that the firm's stable position in responding to external situations. The total IFE score of 3.3436 indicated that the strengths of Cindy Group could overcome the weaknessess very well. Total EFE score of 2.5545 indicated that Cindy Group was good enough to respond the opportunities and minimize threats. Based on QSPM analysis, the priority strategy to be applied in the marketing of fishery processed products at UMKM Cindy Group which was expanding marketing network, maintaining quality, increasing sales service and increasing cooperation with related institutions and cooperatives/other SMEs in order to get raw material access.

Abstract

Study of Aquarium Decorative Plant Business Prospect at Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group in Ciawi, Bogor Regency aims to identify the business feasibility in business development, formulating the right strategy in the business development, to evaluate the performance of Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group by using Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach and to identify partnership level category of aquarium decorative plant small industry. The result study was obtained the Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp. 188.455.000,00, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 38,63%, Profitability Index (PI) 1,15 and Net B/C ratio 1,67, indicating the this business is considered to be feasible to be grown. Calculation result of payback (PBP) this period was identified that the investment payback period is 2 years 3 months 18 days and shorter than investment life period for 5 years, so it is feasible and profitable. Based on result of strategy analysis by using Strenghts, Weaknesess, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis, the right strategy in the business development of Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group by maintaining and improving product quality in accordance with the customers wants, maintaining and improving the business/partnership relations with exporters and suppliers. The result of the analysis of Internal-External (IE) matrix showed an internal factor of 2.702 and an external factor of 2.516, which put the business in quadrant V, which are growth and stability. It means they must defend strategy that they have been using up till now, and they must increase developing strategy of business. Result of evaluation with  Balanced Scorecard (BSC) indicates that financial performance from 2003-2007 in aquarium decorative plant business at  Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group was fairly good seen from liquidity, solvability, efficiency in taking advantage of assets,  net profits obtained, effectiveness and productivity in making use of assets owned and in receivables collection. Based on the result of study from customer perception with six attribute dimensions the service quality is fairly satisfactory. Seeing from after sales service level, operation/production process and innovation process show that internal business of Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group is considered fairly good. Observing from performance aspect, organizational restructuring aspect, learning dynamic aspect, group member satisfaction level aspect, knowledge management aspect, empowerment aspect and technology application aspect indicate that from growth and learning perspectives at Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group is considered fairly good. Partnership level between Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group with PT. Nusantara Aquatic Exporindo and CV. Cahaya Baru is included in First Prime Partnership Level. While the partnership level between Bunga Air ?Aqua Plantindo? Business Group with CV. Tropical Aquatic is included in Secondary Prime Partnership Level.

Abstract

Trade Facilitation Agreement mandates each member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including Indonesia, to simplify the trade system in order to facilitate trade flows between countries. Inatrade is an information technology-based system that was built by the Ministry of Trade that aims to provide services of export and/or import procedure fastrer and more transparent. In order to determine the effectiveness of Inatrade services, it is necessary to identify the dominant factors, actors, and indicators that influence to the improvement of the service quality. This study aims to determine the conditions of service horticultural products import license, to identify the dominant factors, actors, and indicators which influence services, and to formulate strategies needed to improve the quality of licensing services at the Ministry of Trade. The research used analytical tools of Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix (IFE), External Factor Evaluation Matrix (EFE), SWOT and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the result analiysis it was concluded that the licensing mechanism based integrated information technology and monitoring and evaluation system regularly including aspects of the systems, human resources and legal basis as a best strategy to improve the quality of services.

Abstract

To compete with other schools, Sampoerna High School has been implementing advertisement programs in printed and electronic media. Moreover, advertisement programs that have been implementing are to increase brand awareness in public. The main aim of this research is to analyze factors that influencing. Previous researches and literatures review show that advertisement?s effectiveness is effected by the endorser's quality, the appropriate selecting of advertisement media and the attractiveness of advertisement?s message. Then the advertisement?s effectiveness enhances the brand awareness.   The respondents are the parents of Sampoerna High School?s students who live in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek). The data collected by a cencus to 80 parents on July to October 2014. The data that collected has processed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result of SEM analysis indicates that the attractiveness of advertisement?s message has significant effect to effectiveness of advertisement, and advertisement?s effectiveness shows significant effect to brand awareness? enhancement. Moreover, the appropriate selecting of advertisement media also shows significant effect to brand awareness. Based on the results, in order to have an effective advertisement in gaining brand awareness of Sampoerna High School, the approach of the advertisement campaign should be focusing on enhancement of the attractiveness advertisement?s message

Abstract

CSR disclosure in Indonesia were still low and voluntary. CSR disclosure is expected to increase positive image of the company and attract investors to invest. This study aims: (1) analyze the effect of CSR disclosure toward corporate financial performance of LQ45 stock index (2) analyze the effect of CSR disclosure toward corporate stock performance of LQ45 stock index and (3) analyze the effect of financial performance toward corporate stock performance of LQ45 stock index. This study used the annual report and financial report of the sample companies on 2013. Test of relationship influences of CSR disclosure toward corporate value were measured by Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results of this study showed valid indicators as a measurement construct of CSR disclosure in the LQ45 stock index were environment and society but economic, Human Rights (HAM), social and product responsibility indicators were invalid. Valid indicators of financial performance as a measurement constructs were ROA but DER, DAR, NPM, and ROE were invalid. While PBV was valid as a measure of stock performance construct but EPS were invalid. The results of hypothesis testing explained CSR disclosure were not significant effect on the finansial performance and had negatively related. CSR disclosure were not significant effect on the stock performance and had negatively related. However financial performance were significant effect on the stock performance and had positively related.

Abstract

As a part of Micro Small Medium Enterprises, home industry plays a very important role as new jobs provider that is expected to decrease unemployment and distribute wealth among society. Home industry development needs to be done in Kendal Regency. However in its implementation, this home industry faces many problems, one of them is marketing. It shows that there needs to be right marketing method and strategy to develop home industries. One of the approaches that is used right now by Small Medium Enterprises is entrepreneurial marketing. This research aims to (1) analyze the achievement being practiced by home industry in Kendal, (2) analyze the impact entrepreneurial marketing has towards the marketing performance of Kendal?s home industry. Respondents in this research are 67 home industry entrepreneur in Kaliwangu district and Patebon district, Kendal Regency. Sampling method uses non probability sampling method with convenience sampling technique. The data was analyzed with transformation index analysis and structural equation modeling with partial least square approach (SEM PLS). The result of the research shows that the implementation of entrepreneurial marketing has been quite good and the biggest aspect of entrepreneurial marketing is shown by strategic ability. According to SEM PLS analysis, concept, strategy, and market intelligence variables on entrepreneurial marketing are significant to marketing performance.

Abstract

The research analyzes the financial resources, intangible assets (innovation capital, human capital, and customer capital), competitive advantage and financial performance, also analyzing its effect and analyzing business feasibility from the point view of Net Present Value (NPV), Profitability Index (PI), Payback Period (PP) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) on cow commodities, corn and seaweed (PIJAR). The method used is qualitative and quantitative, the respondent are choose by purposive sampling with the criteria of SME which conduct their business on cow commodities, corn and seaweed at Lombok NTB Region. This research is using the Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis which is a statistical method on varian basis. The research results obtained by the Financial Resource Capacity has well sufficient capacity of (3.29), Intangible Asset have well sufficient capacity of (3.86), well good for Competitive Strategy Excellence Cost of (3.92) and quite good Financial Performance. The influence among variables on the seaweed commodities : (1) Financial Resource does not affect the financial performance and price competitive competition, so the financial resources capacity is well good, although its not yet able to contribute on the financial performance; (2) Innovation capital affect on financial performances but do not affect on competitive strategy; human capital affect on the financial performance and competitive strategy; customer capital affect on the financial performance and competitive strategy; and (3) The business feasibility for PIJAR commodities are very well based on the view point of NPV, PP, PI and IRR.

Abstract

Changes in business environment lead various companies to continue to strive to improve their business strategies in order to survive and have a competitive advantage. The peak changes occurred with the coming of business era in the era of information and science. In this era, business strategies that are considered suitable, among others, the application of human resource development system based on human capital and company management based on corporate values and good corporate governance (GCG). PTPN VII as state-owned enterprise in agribusiness has tried to implement the system. This study aimed to examine the relationship between human capital, corporate values ??and GCG and their relation to the performances of the employees and the company. The population of this research as many as 400 people consisted of the employees of PTPN VII head office, but the number of the samples set  was 120 respondents. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with quota sampling technique. The methods of processing and analyzing the data was structural equation modeling analysis-partial least squares (SEM-PLS),  and the data processing used software smartPLS. The results indicated that the implementation of human capital by the company contributed positively to the increase of the employee performance. The implementation and internalization of corporate values ??to the employees positively contributed to the improvement of the employee performance. The increased employee performance  played a positive role in improving the company performance. The implementation of corporate governance principles could improve the performance of the company, but did not play a great role in improving employee performance

Abstract

Nutmeg oil is one of essential oil products of economically important nutmeg commodities. Many of nutmeg oil?s product were used for food?s industry, such as astringent, cosmetics, soap, and medicines. The objectives of this research, were to get a good quality nutmeg oil as raw material for nutmeg oil?s downstream industry, to analize the feasibility of the construction of the industry, and to formulate developing strategy of nutmeg oil?s downstream industry in Bogor Regency. The data were collected by experts use exponential comparisons method (MPE) to choose appropriate destilation method of nutmeg oil, a product that will be develop in Bogor and also potential location to develop the industry?s fabric. To know appropriate strategy to empower the Bogor Regency?s society by means of the industry, first it was necessary to know the position of downstream industry using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis and to formulate appropriate strategy using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The appropriate destilation method of nutmeg oil that were choosen by experts is direct steam method, the product that were choosen by experts is cosmetic?s product, and the potential location is Ciomas Regency. Based on feasibility analysis nutmeg oil downstream industry has potencial prospect in Bogor Regency. Market aspect shows that the industry is very needed in Bogor.  The human resource aspect also shows that there are a lot of productive ages that can be required in the industry. Financial aspect signed that investation of the industry bring profit based on Net Present Value (NPV) that is Rp. 4.362.473.952, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 47,2% per year with discount rate 16,5% and 8% per year, Payback Period (PBP) 11,5 month, and Benefit/Cost (B/C) ratio 1,11. SWOT analysis showed that nutmeg oil downstream industry located at second quadrant. It means that the industry supported aggressive strategy, and by used this analysis we can formulate seven alternative strategies. The appropriate strategy to empower The Bogor  Regency?s society by means cosmetic?s industry is extensification of nutmeg area and corporate community relationship.
