Abstract

This study was conductedto assess the physiological responses of commoncarp due to administrationof ich vaccines and kept at different water temperatures. Completely Randomized Factorial Designwasusedin this study. The number and the size of the experimental fish was720 and 5-7 cm, respectively. Fish wasvaccinated by immersing the fish in water that contained 3 mLL-1 of ich vaccines for 15 minutes. Then, fishwas kept for 21 days at various temperatures: at 18ºC which was room temperature without heater andfish had not been vaccinated and at 20, 24, and 28ºC where fish was given the vaccines and the aquariumis facilitated with electric heater. Atday15post immunization, challenge test with 5.000 cells of life therontfish-1was performed.Immobilization test, differential leukocyte, prevalence rates, and survival rates weremeasured. The measurements of these parameters were performed four times:before the treatment (day0), day7, day14, and day21, respectively. The results showed that the vaccine could reduce the stress inthefish that were kept at 20, 24, and 28ºC, and the prevalence of ichthyophthiriasis. In addition the vaccineincrease the fish survival rates after challenge test. The highest survival rate (100%) was found in fish thatwerekept in 28ºC.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the blood of Tilapia that had been cultured in a fishpond since June to December 2015. The ponds were located in Marpoyan Subdistrict, Pekanbaru city. Twenty samples were collected as much as 20 fish that consisted of 10 male and 10 female with the size ranging from 9.5 ? 18.2 cm. The blood of the fish was taken with syringe via caudal vena as much of 1 ml. The blood parameters then were calculated in term of the number of hematocrit, leucocyte, erythrocyte, and leukocyte. The results showed that the amount of hematocrit and leukokrit were ranged between 10 ? 31 % and 1.78 ? 3.10 % consecutively. The total cell of erythrocyte ranged between 1,170,000 ? 2,190,000 cell/mm3, and the total of leukosit were about 81,000 ? 105,000 cell/mm3. In addition, the types of leukocyte found at this study were hepatocyte (53- 86%), thrombocyte (25 ? 39%), monocyte and neutrophil between 1 ? 3 %.

Abstract

ABSTRACTVitamin C is a nutrient that is soluble in water and is essential for life as well as for maintaining health, enhancing immunity of fish in fighting infections and as an antioxidant. The study aims to obtain the best dose of vitamin C on total leukocytes, leukocyte differentiation, and phagocytosis activity to increase the immunity of nile tilapia towards disease attack Streptcoccosis. The method used is the experimental method by using the full random draft (RAL) One factor with five levels of treatment and the treatment is repetead three times. After the treatment was applied, namely Kn (without vitamin C enriched pellets and not challenged), Kp (pellets without vitamin C enriched and challenged), vitamin c enriched pellets at a dose of P1 (1 g/kg and challenged with Streptococcus agalactiae), P2 (1.5 g/kg and challenged with S. agalactiae), P3 (2 g/kg and challenged with S. agalactiae). Nile tilapia used in size 8-10 cm with solid tebar 1 tail/3 L water is maintained in the aquarium with a size of 40 x 30 x 30 cm with a feed enriched with vitamin C for 46 days. The fish was challenged with S. agalactiae with a density 108 CFU/mL at the dose of 0.1 mL/tail intramuscular on day 32 after that the fish re-maintained until the 46 days. Measured parameters are total leucocytes, leucocyte differentiation, phagocytic activity and survival rate of nile tilapia. The results shown that the feed enriched with vitamin C and tested with S. Agalactiae has an influence on the immunity of fish with the best treatment in P3 (the vitamin C enriched pellets at a dose of 2 g/kg and challenged) with an average total leukocytes was 8.02 x 104 cells/mm3, lymphocytes were 84.67%, neutrophils was 8.67%, monocytes were 6.66%, phagocytosis activity is 46.00% and the livelihood reaches 93.33%.Keywords : Leukocytes, Tilapia, Vitamin C, Streptococcus agalactiae, Phagocytosis

Abstract

 Ekstrak daun R. apiculata memiliki manfaat sebagai suplemen herbal yang dapat ditambahkan ke dalam pakan, karena mengandung senyawa flavonoid, tanin, saponin, terpenoid, dan steroid yang dapat meningkatkan kesehatan ikan jambal siam (P. hypophthalmus). Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2019. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan dosis terbaik ekstrak daun R. apiculata yang ditambahkan ke dalam pakan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan ikan jambal siam yang dilihat dari total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, kadar hematokrit, dan morfologi eritrosit. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL)satu faktor empat taraf perlakuan terdiri dari P0;(tanpa penambahan ekstrak). P1;(1,5 mg/kg). P2;(1,7 mg/kg). dan P3;(1,9 mg/kg) dan dilakukan ulangan sebanyak tiga kali sehingga diperlukan 12 unit percobaan. Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 60 hari di dalam keramba dengan ukuran 1x1,5x1 m3. Pemeriksaan darah dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali,yaitu  pada awal pemeliharaan, hari ke-30, dan hari ke-60. Dosis terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P2 (1,7 mg/kg) dilihat dari total eritrosit 2,57x106 sel/mm3, kadar hemoglobin 13,13 g/dL, nilai hematokrit 38,43%, pertumbuhan bobot mutlak 38,93 g, kelulushidupan 97,33%, dan menunjukkan morfologi eritrosit yang normal didukung oleh kualitas air selama penelitian seperti DO 6,4-6,9mg/L, pH 6,1-6,8, Suhu 28,2-29,5 0C, dan Amoniak 0,04-0,08 mg/L.

Abstract

 This research was conducted from Mei to September 2015 in the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of Fish Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The purpose of this reseach was to knowing the addition of flour noni (Morinda citrifolia L) on feed to change the phagocytic activity, total of erythrocytes and hemoglobin of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) infected Streptococcus iniae. This research used five treatments, 1) Kn: negative control (without a solution of addition flour noni (Morinda citrifolia L)  and without the infection of Streptococcus iniae.), 2) Kp: positive control (without giving a solution of addition of flour noni (Morinda citrifolia L) and the infection Streptococcus iniae) 3) P1: addition flour noni (Morinda citrifolia L) 3 g/kg feed) P2: addition flour noni (morinda citrifolia l) 6 g/kg feed) P3: addition flour noni (Morinda citrifolia L) 9 g/kg feed). The research shows that the addition of flour noni (Morinda citrifolia L) on feed do impact the condition of fish blood because visible from the phagocytic activity is ranged between 35,33-56,66%, total erythrocytes 1,23-2,20 x106 cell/mm3, and hemoglobin is ranged between 4,66-6,33 gr/%.

Abstract

Fish stress may be governed by change of water temperature that increaseboth chatecolamine and cortisal secretion. In high level both hormone have anegative effects on fish immune system. Increasing of cortical in blood plasmawould lead to inhibition of interleukin I and II formation. Thus, fish immunesystem dropped which cause fish suffer from infection and eventually dead.Physiological stress may stimulate increasing of cortical and glucose level ofblood plasma. As such lysozime activity would increase. Increase of bloodglucose is of a normal indicator of stressed fish. An randomized block designexperiment with one factor, have been carried out to evaluate the effect or watertemperature on blood glucose of fish. Three level of water temperature ( 24, 28.and 280C) were applied. It revealed that blood glucose level ranged from 127.23to 192,96gr/dl with maximum level of glucose appeared in fish reared in 240C (12gr/dl), and the lowest at of 32oC.. Blood hemoglobin in accordance with bloodglucose, in which maximum level found in 240C (12 gr/dl). The highesthematocrite level were appeared in treatment of 240C (39,83%). Red BloodNumber of 4.725 X 103 sel/mm3, were found in the water temperature of 240C.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the best dose of recombinant growth hormone on the growth of selais fish (Ompok hypopthalmus). This study used a complete randomized desigh with one factor that is recombinant growth hormone dose and 3 repetition. The dose given were 0 mg/kg, 6 mg/kg, 12 mg/kg, 18 mg/kg and 24 mg/kg. The results showed that addition of rElGH at dose of 12 mg/kg were the best dose for selais fish growth?s parameters; absolute length growth (3,60± 0,6 cm), absolute weight growth (3,85 ± 0,46 g), daily growth rate (5,56 ± 0,32 %), food convertion ratio (1,10 ± 0,12), protein and fat retention (46,73 ± 21,34 % and 103,83 ± 21,43 %). The highest level of glycogen muscle (22,43 ± 0,61 mg/g) was found in addition of rElGH at dose of 18 mg/kg.

Abstract

Are  three  main  enzymes  that  play  in  feed  digestion  that  are  protese, amylase and lipase. The activity of each enzyme develops varies depending on fish species,  feed, and environmental  factors. The aims of this study was to: 1) know the fish morphology development by the mouth opening of selais larvae (O. hypopthalmus Blkr.) 2) determine the relationship of fish larvae age and feed type. 3) determine the relationship of enzyme activity, feed type and larvae survival. 4) determine the feed consumed, digestion rate and growth rate of selais larvae. This study used Complete Randomly Design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The feed type factors are: Artemia salina, Tubifex sp, and shrimp pellet + EZ plus Nutrien Digester and Deliver. Larvae age factors are : 0-7 days, 8-15 days, 16-23 days, and 24-31 days. The result showed that different type of feed and larvae affect the larvae survival. The highest survival rate of 73-98% was found in feed type of Artemia sp. and 0-14 days age, and survival rate of 98-100% was found in feed type of Tubifex sp. and 15-31 larvae age.

Abstract

This research was conducted  from September  to December  2016 in the Peat Land Kualu Nenas village, Tambang Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The aim of this research was to find out the influence and biofertilizer different to increase phytoplankton abudance, and water quality parameters. The method used in this study is an experimental method, using a Complete Random Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments used in this experimental is P0 (without biofertilizer), P1 (human fecal biofertilizer), P2 (cow fecal biofertilizer) and P3 (chicken fecal biofertilizer), the treatments gived Azotobacter and Lumbricus rubellus, 7,88 cfu ml/m2  and 1,2 kg/m2  respectualy. The measure of parameters is type and abundance of phytoplankton, water quality parameter analysis and ground peat, abundance of zooplankton, and chlorophyll-a primary productivity analysis.Result of this research shown that human fecal biofertilizer could increase of ground peat pond productivity. This experiment was prove  the  highest  abundance  total  of phytoplankton  was  113.500  cell.L-1 and chlorophyll-a was 48,859 µg/l. Human fecal biofertilizer could increasethe water quality like pH (6,8), Therm (27-320C), Dissolved Oxygen (3,0-4,83 ppm), Nitrat (4,396-14,059  ppm),  orthophospat  (2,114  ? 8,915  ppm).  The analysis  of PCA (Princip   Component   Analysis) shown the physical parameter, chemichal parameter and phytoplankton abundance, the primary productivity. The biplot component was 95,11%. The first component was 75,19%   and the second component was 19,92%.

Abstract

An effort to prevent  Aeromonas hydrophila diseases  in catfish (Mystus nemurus)  performed using antibiotic was less safety. Prevention using natural substances mix with fishmeal could overcome the problem. The study was conducted to investigate fismeal potential containing herb of Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata) and leaves of Jambu biji (Psidium guajava) with different dose given to fish aslong as 60 days. Treatment P1 (without sambiloto flour and jambu biji leaves), P1( 10 g of sambiloto flour + 10 g of jambu biji flour/kg of fish meal), P2 (20 g of sambiloto flour + 20 g of jambu biji flour/ kg of fish meal), P3 (30 g of sambiloto flour + 30 g of jambu biji flour/ kg of fish meal). After 60 days, infection of  Aeromonas hydrophila through intraperitonial with concentration of 108 cell/ml and dose of 0,1ml/fish was conducted. Result of study show that catfish feed with fismeal containing sambiloto  and jambubiji could increase survival rates and growth rates (PË?0,05), but fishmeal containing sambiloto and jambu biji leaves was not effective to privent diseases coused by Aeromonas hydrophila on catfish (Mystus nemurus).   Keywords : Andrographis paniculata, Psidium guajava, Aeromonas hydrophila, catfish (Mystus nemurus)
