Abstract

Development of agribusiness of oil palm represents one of needed steps as activity of development of plantation sub-sector  in  order  to  improve  agricultural  sector  revitalization.  Plantation  of  oil  palm  in  this  time  has  expanded  not  only conducted by state companies, but also by private sector and people. In general, development of agribusiness of oil palm still has a good prospect, evaluated from price, product development and exporting. Internally, agribusiness development of oil palm  supported  by  farm  availability  and  productivity  potency  have  progressively  improved  and  expanding  through downstream industry. Land suitability analysis in sub district of Wita Ponda and Bumi Raya district of Morowali represent effort which in line with above mentioned opportunity. The effort aims to develop agribusiness of oil palm in rural to speed up rural economic activities, create employment, improve prosperity of society. Result of land suitability analysis gave picture that there were 3 (three) classes according to the land suitability: (i) Very suitable class which cover 75 % of total area, equal to 15.000 ha, (ii) Less suitable class which cover 15 % of total area, equal to 3.000 ha, and (iii) Non suitable class which cover 10 % of total area, equal to 2.000 ha. Thereby, the regions of sub district of Wita Ponda and Bumi Raya still have sufficient area for the development of plantation of oil palm.

Abstract

The study aims to identify the existence of aquifer of subsurface groundwater. The study took place in September 2019 by identifying the subsurface soil aquifer located at the official residence of Chairman of Parliament in Donggala regency, Central Sulawesi province. The method used in the study was VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding) which is one of the methods in geoelectricity. The results showed that the best aquifer of groundwater located at >20 m depth below ground level (bgl) with layer thickness is around 30 m and at  >70 m depth bgl with layer thickness is > 30 m (based on measurement trajectory located in the Village of G. BALE). The aquifer lies on the third layer which is intermediate to high aquifer with lithology in the form of sandstone and medium to rough-grained sand. Keywords: Aquifer, Geoelectricity Method, and Groundwater.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to identify the rate and amount of soil water infiltration under various soil characteristics in the Sungai Allu Bankala Watershed.  Data of the measurement can assist to indicate water requirement for different soil types to achieve certain soil humidity. This water requirement can be given by irrigation or precipitation. The research was done in non irrigated paddy or corn land at the Sungai Allu Bankala Watershed, sub district Bangkala District - Jeneponto , South Sulawesi. The types of  soils tested and replication done as follow : Grey Alluvial (2  replications) ; Litosol (3  replications) ; Red Brown Latosol (3 replications ); and Association of litosol and Red Mediteran (2 replications). So that there are 10 location observed. The measurement of infiltration was done using a double ring infiltrometer with measurement interval of 5-6 hours. The results showed that the constant infiltration was achieved after 4-5 hours. The determination coefficient value at linier and non-liniar curve were > 0.9 indicating that the value was sufficiently accurate. The average of infiltration from the highest to the lowest values were as follows Grey Alluvial>Litosol > Association of Latosol and Litosol > Mediteran – Litosol. The first two soil types had very rapid infiltration rate category, while the last two soil types was moderate. The time to achieve a constant infiltration rate under the non irrigated paddy land planted with paddy/corn was faster than other soil condition.
