Abstract

This research aimed to figure out the effect of discovery learning using PhET to the learning outcome in physics of the second-grade students in SMAN 1 Kediri Academic Year 2017/2018. This research was conducted as the result of experiment using non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research was the whole second-grade students in SMAN 1 Kediri. To limit the sample, surfeited sampling was applied consisting the students in class XI MS I as the experiment class and class MS II as the control class. Research instrument used was the multiple-choice test after the tests of validity, reliability, discrimination power, and difficulty level have been done. The increasing of the learning outcome was defined from the result of N-gain test per sub-chapter. The result of this research showed that the learning outcome of the students has increased to both classes. This proved that discovery learning method using PhET has succeeded in increasing the students’ learning outcome for Physics.

Abstract

This study is aimed to know the influence of cooperative learning type STAD by experiment method towards science process skill and student’s output in learning physics at SMAN 1 Labuapi in academic year 2015/2016. The method used in this study was quasi experimental design of untreated control group design pretest-posttest. The population of this study was the overall students of X class at SMAN 1 Labuapi, where there are 4 classes with random sampling technique in taking the subject. Two sample was taken as the subject of this study where X-D as experimental class which was treated using cooperative learning of type STAD by experiment method and X-A as control class. Technique of data analysis of this study was two sample t-test. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded: (1) there was the influence of cooperative learning of type STAD by experiment method towards science process skill of student’s physics, (2) there was the influence of cooperative learning of type STAD by experiment method towards student’s output in learning physics.

Abstract

Abstract – The aim of this research is to know the impact of the applying of problem-based learning with animation toward the critical thinking skill and result of learning physics of student of SMAN 5 Mataram academic year 2016/2017. This research is belong to quasi experiment with pretest-postest control group design. The population is all student of XI MIPA at SMAN 5 Mataram, while the sample are class XI MIPA 4 as the experimental class, and the XI MIPA 6 as control class. The sample taken by the random sampling. The collect of data is done by give the test, 20 multiple choice to knowing the result of learning phyisics and 5 essay for knowing the student’s critical thinking skill. The collected data has been analyzed by using the -test. The result of this research shows that (1) there is an impact of the applying of problem-based learning with animation toward the student’s critical thinking skill that includes the ability in: (a) focusing the question, (b) analyzing the argument/identificating the reason, (c) inducing and considering the result of induction, (d) evaluating the result of consideration, (e) giving the reason; (2) there is an impact of the applying of problem-based learning with animation toward the student’s result of learning physics that includes the result of learning in the cognitif area that follow the Bloom’s taxonomy, that is C1 till C6 (remembering, knowing, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating).

Abstract

Rhizoctonia root rot disease caused by Rhizoctonia solani is one of the most important disease in soybean area, including at ultisol land in Southeast Sulawesi. Rhizobacteria application is one alternative method to control this pathogen. The aim of this experiment was to study of rhizobacteria indigenous formulation to control of Rhizoctonia root rot disease and increase soybean yield in Ultisol soil. A complete randomized design with seven treatments was used in this experiment. The treatments were (A) rhizobacteria formulation for seed treatment, (B) rhizobacteria formulation for seed treatment and repeated at 2 weeks after planting, (C) rhizobacteria formulation for seed treatment, repeated at 2 and 4 weeks after planting, (D) rhizobacteria formulation for seed treatment and fungicide applied at 2 weeks after planting, (E) fungicide seed treatment, and repeated at 2 weeks after planting, (F) fungicide seed treatment, and repeated at 2 and 4 weeks after planting, and control (without rhizobacteria and fungicides). All treatments were inoculated by R. solani and replicated three times. The results showed that rhizobacteria seed treatment and repeated at 2 and 4 weeks after planting was the most effective treatment to control Rhizoctonia root rot disease, and increase plant height and leaf number up to 119% and 170%, respectively, and increased the yield of soybean up to 1870% in ultisol soil compared to plant with control treatment.

Abstract

This research is aimed to investigate the influence of discovery learning model and guided inquiry based experiment method to the physics learning outcomes and students’ scientific attitude. This research is a quasi experiment with 2×2 of factorial design method. The population is all students of 13 classes of grade X of SMAN 2 Mataram. Sample is determined by using a cluster random sampling method. Data is analyzed by t-test statistics of two sample. The results showed that discovery learning model based experiment method has influence to the  physics learning outcomes and students’ scientific attitude, and guided inquiry learning model based experiment method has influence to the physics learning outcomes and students’ scientific attitude. Beside that, discovery learning model and guided inquiry based experiment method has influence to the physics learning outcomes and students’ scientific attitude.Keywords: discovery, guided inquiry, experiment, physics learning outcomes, and  scientific attitude

Abstract

This research examines coral reefs vulnerability which threatening its existences and functions by climate change. The ecological vulnerability in Wakatobi (Wangi-wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko) was assessed during Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) event in 2016. Climate exposure was determined using sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a concentration, and wind speed magnitude; sensitivity was determined using coral susceptibility, fish susceptibility, and macroalgae primary productivity rate; then adaptive capacity was developed by hard coral cover, coral size distribution, coral richness, fish biomass, herbivore diversity, and herbivore grazing relative to algal production. The values of Exposure, Sensitivity, and Adaptive capacity in Wakatobi were 0.93±0.02, 0.42±0.18, and 0.44±0.10, respectively. Site specific vulnerability scores ranged from 0.52 to 1.60 (mean 0.92±0.26). Binongko was the least vulnerable than other islands. Tomia was observed as the least adaptive capacity and Wangi-wangi was the most bleaching incidents. These results could help coral reefs monitoring priority during the event and then when the event is gone by focusing on the marked islands and sites. Sites that were observed as more vulnerable is urgently need a management strategy to overcome the vulnerability status in the future, such as increasing site adaptability.

Abstract

Ethics try to think about the concept of morals or human behavior, such as how to know and assess the difference between good deeds and bad deeds, including how to know what is right and what is wrong. Many philosophers speak of this theme, including prominent philosophers Plato and Aristotle. According to Plato ethics it is intellectual and rational, meaning can be explained logically. For him the purpose of human life is to obtain the joy of life and the joy of his life gained with knowledge. Although it looks the same, but Aristotle has another view in his opinion, moral goodness can be understood as eudaimonia (happiness) or that is translated in English with well-being. The real happiness according to Aristotle is when humans are able to realize the best possible as a human being. It means that happiness can be achieved when man manifests the highest wisdom based on reason or reason. In contrast to the Greek philosophers? theory in this case Plato and Aristotle, Islam seems to provide a significant distinction. The apparent difference between Greek ethics and Islamic ethics is the existence of an Islamic ethical system that includes philosophical, theological and eschatological morality (in this case the teachings of monotheism) which are certainly not known in Greek ethics. In Islamic ethics there is a harmony of the dimensions of reason and revelation as divine references in deciding both good and bad. If we look at Greek ethics then a good is done because it contains the value of virtue as a moral obligation. So in Islamic ethics more than that, not merely a virtue, but doing good is bringing benefit to all people and get appreciation from God with reward reward. In some of these ethical concepts many Muslim philosophers attribute this ethics to the goal of attaining the happiness of man in the world and in the hereafter.[Etika mencoba memikirkan tentang konsep akhlak atau tingkah laku  manusia, seperti bagaimana mengetahui dan menilai perbedaan antara perbuatan baik dan perbuatan buruk, termasuk cara untuk mengetahui mana yang benar dan mana ya salah. Banyak filosof yang berbicara tentang tema ini, termasuk filosof ternama Plato dan Aristoteles. Menurut Plato etika itu bersifat intelektual dan rasional, artinya bisa dijelaskan secara logis. Baginya tujuan hidup manusia adalah memperoleh kesenangan hidup dan kesenangan hidupnya diperoleh dengan pengetahuan. Menurut Plato lebih lanjut, ada dua macam budi: budi filosofis dan budi biasa. Plato juga mengatakan bahwa orang itu baik apabila ia dikuasai oleh akal budi, buruk apabila ia dikuasai oleh keinginan dan hawa nafsu. Walau tampak sama, tetapi Aristoteles punya pandangan lain menurutnya, kebaikan moral dapat dimengerti sebagai eudaimonia (kebahagiaan) atau yang diterjamahkan dalam bahasa Inggris dengan well-being. Kebahagiaan sejati menurut Aristoteles adalah bila manusia mampu mewujudkan kemungkinan terbaik sebagai manusia. Artinya bahwa kebahagiaan dapat tercapai ketika manusia mewujudkan kebijaksanaan yang tertinggi berdasarkan rasio atau akal budi Berbeda dengan teori filosof Yunani dalam hal ini Plato dan Aristoteles, Islam tampak memberikan pembedaan yang signifikan. Perbedaan yang tampak antara etika Yunani dan etika Islam adalah adanya sistem etika Islam yang mencangkup moralitas filosofis, teologis dan eskatologis (dalam hal ini ajaran tauhid) yang barang tentu tidak dikenal dalam etika Yunani. Dalam etika Islam ada harmoni dimensi akal dan wahyu sebagai rujukan ilahiyah  dalam menentukan baik dan buruk. Bila kita melihat etika Yunani maka sebuah kebaikan itu dilakukan karena mengandung nilai keutamaan sebagai kewajiban moral. Maka dalam etika Islam lebih dari itu, bukan hanya sekedar keutamaan, tapi melakukan kebaikan itu membawa kemanfaatan bagi semua orang dan mendapatkan apresiasi dari Tuhan dengan balasan pahala. Dalam beberapa konsep etika ini banyak para filosof muslim menghubungkan etika ini dengan tujuan pencapaian kebahagiaan manusia di dunia dan di akhirat.]

Abstract

As a popular issue recently, the fundamentalism is more understood as a movement within a sect, school or religion that striving to return to what they believe as the fundamentals or the foundations. The groups followed this idea are often involved conflict with another groups even within their own religion for the reason that their missions are to get rid ofthe impurities ofreligion. In positive meaning, "fundamentalist" is a term referring to a movement that revival or purify the religion. As stated in this writing, in Islam this fundamentalist movement is also increased, as a study by W. Montgomery Watt.According to Watt the Islamic fundamentalist group is the Muslim group that accepting traditional world view and making an effort to preserve it completely. More over according to Watt, the emerging of fundamentalism in Islam is a kind of encounter to what they call as "the enemy oflslam" in this case is the West. Beside of that, Watt articulated that traditional Muslims are also decline pluralism as a necessity.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Angka Kematian Bayi (AKB) di Indonesia masih sangat tinggi. Menurut data Survey Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia (SDKI), di Kalimantan Barat jika dilihat dari kurun waktu 1994 sampai dengan tahun 2007 meskipun terlihat adanya penurunan angka kematian bayi di Kalbar, namun masih di atas rata-rata nasional yaitu 34 per 1.000 KH dimana target Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) ke-4 tahun 2015 yaitu 19 per 1.000 KH. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi besar terhadap tingginya AKB dan merupakan penyebab tidaklangsung kematian neonatal kedua terbanyak dengan persentase 32,4% adalah persalinan prematur. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian persalinan prematur di RSUD Dr. Soedarso Pontianak. Metode Penelitian: Desain penelitian menggunakan rancangan studi kasus kontrol dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling didapatkan 150 ibu bersalin di RSUD Dr.Soedarso Pontianak yang terdiri 50 subjek kelompok kasus dan 100 subjek kelompok kontrol. Uji statistik menggunakan metode Chi Square tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil Penelitian: Menunjukkan ada hubungan antara umur ibu (p=0,001; OR=5,462), riwayat prematur(p=0,001; OR=7,211), hipertensi (p=0,002; OR=3,116), perdarahan antepartum (p=0,007; OR= 7,977), dan ketuban pecah dini(p=0,001; OR=5,516) dengan kejadian persalinan prematur, dan tidak ada hubungan antara paritas (p=0,147) dengan kejadian persalinan prematur. Saran: Untuk mencegah terjadinya kasus kejadian persalinan prematur diperlukan upaya promotif dan preventif. Kepada ibu hamil agar memeriksakan kehamilannya secara teratur, mengurangi aktifitas pekerjaan yang berat, mengkonsumsi makanan yang bergizi, mengikuti kelas hamil, mengikuti program KB.

Abstract

Dangke whey is one type of protein and can be made edible film. The quality of the edible film made from dangke whey can be improved with the addition of carrageenan. The purpose of this research was to determine the quality of the edible film made from dangke whey with the addition of different concentrations of carrageenan. The qualities of the edible film observed were the microstructure, the color values L *, a * and * b, water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) and thickness. Data analyzed using ANOVA with a completely randomized design. The treatment used of carrageenan with different concentrations: 2%; 2.5%; 3% and 3.5%. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. Microstructure of edible film showed the improvement of interaction between the molecules of constituent materials. Values of color* L were 86.1088.37, the value of color * a were -0.55-0.70 and a value of the color * b were 2.03-3.35. Water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) were 5.08-5.35 g/mm2.jam. The thickness were 0.034-0.036 mm. The use of carrageenan concentrations up to 4% for manufacturing of edible film have not changed for the color * L, * a and * b, the rate of water vapor transmissions and thickness. Based on the microstructure showed that the molecules of edible film properly distributed beginning on the use of carrageenan concentration of 2.5%.
