Abstract

 Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari dan mengetahui morfologi dan liang gerek larva instar satu dan instar akhir PBK C. cramerella pada buah kakao di desa Rahmat kecamatan Palolo kabupaten Sigi provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Hasil penelitian rerata panjang liang gerek larva PBK C. cramerella  instar satu yang baru menetas masuk menggerek buah kakao 0,218±0,005mm, rerata lebar liang gerek larva PBK C. cramerella instar satu 0,148±0,004mm, rerata panjang liang gerek larva instar akhir keluar dari dalam buah kakao 1,481±0,017mm dan rerata lebar liang gerek larva instar akhir 1,239±0,030mm. Rerata panjang telur PBK C cramerella 0,480±0,027mm dan rerata lebar telur 0,288±0,014mm. Rerata panjang larva instar akhir PBK C. cramerella 9,725±0,174 mm, rerata panjang pupa PBK C. cramerella 7,828±0,107mm, rerata panjang imago PBK C. cramerella 6,690±0,125mm dan rerata lebar kapsul kepala larva PBK C. cramerella 0,935±0,040mm. Kata Kunci : C. cramerella, larva instrar akhir, larva instar satu.

Abstract

The objective of this research were to identify the groups of secondary metabolites which act as bioactive in E. tirucalli plants, to isolate and determine those compounds, and to determine the bioactivity and toxicity of each purified compound. The research results showed that the extraction using ethanol solvent produced more extract yield of 6.6% (23.11 g)  compared  with acetone solvent (1.74% or equal to 6.08 g), while hexane solvent resulted in extract yield of 0.05% (1.74 g).  Isolation and purification of E. tirucalli leaf extract by ethanol solvent produced 5 metabolites compounds including alkaloid, flavonoid, triterpenoid, and hydroquinone.  While the acetone solvent produced 6 metabolites compounds including alkaloid, flavonoid, steroid, triterpenoid and hydroquinone. E. tirucalli leaf extracted by acetone solvent has highest toxicity, in which concentration of 2% was able to cause 50% mortality of P xylostella insects tested, compared with the ethanol solvent at a concentration of 3%.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the diversity and the evenness ofinsects as well as the production of soybean plants (Glycine max L.) sprayed with and withoutinsecticide. This research was conducted in March to July 2016 and located in Sidera village, Sigi Biromaru  , Central Sulawesi province. The identification of the insects was done at the Plant Pests and Diseases Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Tadulako University. The number of families and species of the insects was not affected by the insecticide sprayed but on their individual number.  The diversity of the insects under the soybean plantation both sprayed and un-sprayed was categorically moderate.  However, the spraying could increase the production up to 3 t/ha compared to the non-spraying which was only2.21 t/ha.

Abstract

This research is aimed to study the diversity of Arthropod with different altitude. The research was conducted on farmers' clove plantation in Oncone Raya Village, South Tinombo Subdistrict, ParigiMoutong. Arthropod samples were identified at the Plant Disease Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, from May to July 2016. This study      used two treatments with different heights of 640meters (m) above sea level (asl) and 1,700 m asl, using two trap techniques ie traps Traps and the trap of malease, with sampling 8 times. Based      on the results of observations dilapang showed that the number of individuals most abundant         in the lowlands 640m asl 1073 tail, and at least the number of individuals in the plateau           1700m asl 512 tail. With the highest diversity index found on the plateau 1,700 m asl 2.73, with a fairness index of 0.05 for trap trap traps, and for trapping device the malease trap diversity index value is 2.27, the fairness index is 0.97, with the Index Value Similarity 4.69%. As for the lowland diversity index, the lower incidence of occurrence index (H') was 2.68 individuals, (E) 0.04 for trap trap traps, and for male trap traps (H') 2.60, (E ) 0.94, with the value of the similarity index          (SI) 3.17%. Diversity index in moderate category or in other words ecosystem condition in       stable condition.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of compound seed powder sugar apple and soursop seed against S. oryzae mortality in storage. The study was conducted from January to April 2016 at the Laboratory of Plant Pests and Diseases Departement, Faculty Agriculture, Tadulako University Palu. Materials used seeds soursop (Annonamuricata L.) seeds and sugar apple seeds (Annonasquamosa L.), aquadestand local varieties of rice. The study design using a completely randomized design consisting of 6 treatments with 3 replications level namely P0: Control without giving samples; P1: 1g/200g of rice; P2: 2g/200g of rice; P3: 3g/200g of rice; P4: 4g/200g of rice); P5: 5g/200g of rice. The analysis uses a test of variance and to determine the best treatment to use honest significant difference test ? level of 0.05. The results showed that the compound powder sugar apple seed and seed soursop affect the rice beetles mortality. The most effective concentration causing mortality in rice beetles that is on the treatment of P2 concentration of 2g/200g of rice with a percentage of56.67%.The concentration was significantly different with the treatment of P3, P4, P5 each concentration 3g/200g, 4g/200g, 5g/200g rice with percentage mortality 81.11%, 92.22%, and 100.00% respectively. Key Words: Mortality, seed soursop powder and seed sugar apple powder, Sitophilus oryzae L.

Abstract

One of the pests that attack the pepper plants (Capsicum annum L.) is the fruit fly (Bactrocera sp.). The way of controlling fruit fly (Bactrocera sp.) that Is using various types of mulch.  The purpose of this research is to know the influence of mulch type to fruit fly density (Bactrocera sp.) on pepper plant (Capsicum annum L.).  This research was conducted in Sidera Village, Sigi Biromaru Subdistrict, Sigi District, Central Sulawesi Province. This research activity took place from May to September 2016. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of four treatments repeated four times to obtain 16 units of observation. The results showed that black silver plastic mulch obtained a large population of fruit flies with an average of 13, 22, 31, 28, 24, 27, 34 and 39 and the intensity of fruit fly attack with an average of 1,04%, 1,04, 2,09%, 6,25%, 7,29%, 9,37%, 9,37%, 10,42% and 15 , 63% while the production of pepper plant obtained on the silver black silver treatment that is with an average of 75,00 ton/ha, 18,17 ton/ha, 98,33 ton/ha, 107,92 ton/ha.

Abstract

Kakao merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan sektor perkebunan yang turut memberi andil dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat terutama di pedesaan. Banyak faktor yang menyebabkan produktivitas kakao saat ini mengalami penurunan antara lain: (1). tanaman kakao rakyat sudah berumur lebih dari 15 tahun; (2) serangan hama penggerek buah kakao (PBK) Conopomorpha cramerella (3). serangan penyakit pembuluh kayu atau vascular streak dieback(VSD) (4). serangan penyakit busuk buah Phythopthora palmivora dan (5) kurang perawatan oleh petani.Hasil rembug dengan anggota kelompok tani mitra bersama dengan kepala desa disepakati untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dianggap prioritas untuk segera diatasi dalam pelaksanaan program pengembangan desa mitra (PPDM). Program Pengembangan Desa Mitra (PPDM) bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Desa Sarumana sebagai pusat kakao rakyat di Sulawesi Tengah melalui peningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan anggota masyarakat dalam perakitan teknologi budidaya berdaya hasil tinggi, teknologi pengendalian hama dan penyakit, teknologi pengembangan pupuk organik untuk kesinambungan produksi kakao, dan teknologi penanganan hasil kakao agar dapat bernilai jual tinggi. Metode yang diterapkan dalam  pencapai tujuan tersebut adalah: pelatihan, demonstrasi teknologi, demplot, pendampingan dan pembinaan yang dilakukan secara partisipatif dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengembangan kakao berdaya hasil tinggi. Pada pelaksanaan pelatihan diberikan materi tentang teknik grafting, pengendalian hama PBK menggunakan predator Dolichoderus thoracicus,pengendalian penyakit Vascular Streak Dieback (VSD) dengan mikroba antagonis, pengendalian penyakit busuk buah kakao dengan biofungisida, dan pembutan pupuk organik berbahan baku limbah kulit buah kakao. Hasil yang diperoleh bertambahnya wawasan dan pengetahuan masyarakat sasaran melalui programpenyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan serta pemberdayaan, serta terjadi perubahan sikap maupun pola pikir dari masyarakat khususnya kelompok tani mitra tentang pentingnya pengembangan kakao. Terbentuknya 2 demplot yakni demplot teknologi pengendalian organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT) dengan sarang buatan Dolichoderus thoracicus dan infus akar Trichoderma cair , dan demplot budidaya tanaman kakao dengan teknologi side grafting pada tanaman kakao, terbentuknya 2 unit bak pengomposan pada kelompok tani mitra, bertambahnya skill masyarakat  dalam mengelola sumber daya alam maupun limbah pertanian melalui program pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos berbahan baku limbah kulit buah kakao,dan pupuk organik cair (MOL) dari limbah rumah tangga.

Abstract

The Research was aimed to identifythe diversity of arthropods in Cocoa plantation inthree strataof shade tree. Research was conducted in Rahmat village, the sub-district of Palolo, District of Sigi, the Province of Central Sulawesi, Indonesia from December 2012 to June 2013.Berlese funnel, Pitfall, Malaise and Light trap were used to collect arthropod samples. There were five indices such as species richness (R), species evenness (E), species diversity (H`and D), and species similarity (Iss) to analyze the diversity of arthropods in cocoa plantations. The result showed that species richness (R) of arthropods under the two strata of shade tree, species evenness (E) and both of species diversity indices, Shannon (H`) & Simpson (D) was the highest, with value of 18,216, 0.839, 4.383, and 0.833 respectively. In addition, percentage of species similarity (Iss) was the highest under two strata of shade tree with value 72.297%.Keywords: arthropods, cocoa, species diversity, two strata of shadetree
