Abstract

The optimum performance of duck farm can be achieved by providing them with good quality rations. Rations with good digestibility will increase the productivity due to large amount intake of nutrients. Chitosan is type of animal fibre which assisted the growth of useful microbes in digestive system. Addition of chitosan in cattle rations will improve the ecologic of duck digestive system to be more conducive.  The aimed of the research was to evaluate rations digestibility with the addition of chitosan. The research was used completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 repetitions. Each repetition consists of 2 ducks. The treatments are R0 stands for rations without chitosan and R1-R3 with addition of chitosan 0.5%, 2% and 2.5% respectively. Parameter measured were dried matter digestibility, organic matter and crude protein. Data processing was conducted by using SAS Windows 16. Result showed chitosan addition at 0.5% and 2.5% gave dried matter digestibility and crude protein does not higher than control (P>0.05) while chitosan addition at 2% gave result lower than control. Organic matter digestibility displays balanced in value.Keywords: Chitosan, Dried matter digestibility, organic matter, crude protein, rations.

Abstract

An experiment on the use of Carica papaya leaf meal to increase the production and quality of Sentul chicken eggs was carried out in Jelekong village, Baleendah Subdistrict, Bandung District.  Seventy five Sentul Chicken at 36 weeks of age were used. Data were analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design consisted of five treatments including Carica papaya leaf meal of 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10%. The result indicated that the use of Carina papaya leaf meal in ration up to 10 percent did not significantly affect egg production, egg weight, Haugh unit value, and shell thickness, but the use of        10 percent Carina papaya leaf meal in ration significantly affected color yolk score.

Abstract

Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Kandang Test Farm, Laboratorium Nutrisi Ternak Ruminansia dan Kimia Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran.  Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui tingkat penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu yang disuplementasi mineral tembaga dan seng yang menghasilkan kecernaan protein, bahan kering, bahan organik, nilai energi metabolis, dan retensi nitrogen paling tinggi.  Seratus ekor DOC (Unsexed) yang dipelihara selama 12 minggu, dialokasikan ke dalam rancangan acak lengkap dilanjut Uji Jarak berganda Duncan dengan lima perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak lima kali.  Kombinasi ransum penelitian terdiri atas: ransum basal (P0), P0 + ekstrak mengkudu 50 mg/kg ransum yang disuplementasi mineral CuSO4 dan ZnO (P1), P0 + ekstrak mengkudu 150 mg/kg ransum yang disuplementasi mineral CuSO4 dan ZnO (P2), P0 + ekstrak mengkudu 250 mg/kg ransum yang disuplementasi mineral CuSO4 dan ZnO (P3), P0 + ekstrak mengkudu 350 mg/kg ransum yang disuplementasi mineral CuSO4 dan ZnO (P4).  Hasil analisis statistik menunjukan bahwa penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu yang disuplementasi mineral tembaga dan seng nyata meningkatkan nilai kecernaan protein, bahan kering, bahan organik, nilai energi metabolis, dan retensi nitrogen pada ayam Sentul.  Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu 250 mg/kg ransum yang disuplementasi mineral CuSO4 dan ZnO meningkatkan kecernaan dengan nilai kecernaan protein 67,52%, kecernaan bahan kering 70,12%, kecernaan bahan organik 75,14%, nilai energi metabolis 3460,79 kkal/kg, dan retensi nitrogen dengan penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu 150 mg/kg ransum yang disuplementasi CuSO­4 dan ZnO 81,45%.

Abstract

The research was conducted to know the effect of noni fruit extract supplemented by Cu and Zn on blood cholesterol and  egg yolk cholesterol, creatinin, and blood urea nitrogen of sentul chicken. The research was done from August until October 2019. Samples test was held in Physiology and Biochemistry Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Faculty, Padjadjaran University, Sumedang. The methods used experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the effect of treatment using Analysis of  Varience (ANOVA) followed by Orthogonal Polynomial. The treatment consisted of five kind with five repetitions, those are to =  without adding noni fruit extract and  Cu, Zn , t1= Ration + 60 mg/kg extract noni fruit suplemented Cu 0,06 mg and Zn 1,5 mg, t2= Ration+ 180 mg/kg extract fruit noni suplemented Cu 0,18 mg and Zn 3,0 m, t3= Ration + 240 mg/kg extract fruit noni suplemented Cu 0,24 mg and Zn 4,5 mg, t4= Ration + 360 mg/kg extract fruit noni suplemented Cu 0,36 and Zn 6,0 mg. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstrak kulit manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) yang di suplemetasi mineral tembaga dan seng terhadap imbangan efisiensi protein, kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, protein pada ayam Sentul.  Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, yaitu P0 (ransum basal), P1 (P0  + ekstrak kulit manggis (EKM) 60 mg/kg + CuSO4 0,3 mg/kg + ZnO 2,4 mg/kg), P2 (P0 + EKM 120 mg/kg + CuSO4 0,6 mg/kg + ZnO 4,8 mg/kg) P3 (P0 + EKM 180 mg/kg + CuSO4 0,9 mg/kg + ZnO 7,2 mg/kg), dan P4 (P0 + EKM 240 mg/kg + CuSO4 1,2 mg/kg + ZnO 9,6 mg/kg).  Data dianalisis mengunakan Analisis Ragam dan Uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penambahan ekstrak kulit manggis nyata meningkatkan nilai imbangan efisiensi protein, kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik dan protein pada ayam Sentul.  Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak kulit manggis 120 mg/kg ransum yang di suplementasi CuSO4 0,6 mg/kg ransum dan ZnO 4,8 mg/kg ransum menghasilkan nilai imbangan efisiensi protein 1,61, kecernaan bahan kering 75,11% , bahan organik 78,64% dan protein 75,34%.
