Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of relative growth rate and proximate levels of protein in tilapia fish exposed to heat stress and supplemented with the combination of willow leaf powder and chromium. A total of 30 tilapia fish with 1.3-1.5 cm long were divided into 6 treatment groups with 5 repetitions: fed with commercial feed at temperature 29±1° C (P1S1), fed with commercial feed combined with willow leaf at temperature 29±1° C (P2S1), fed with commercial feed combined with willow leaf and chromium at temperature 29±1° C (P3S1), fed with commercial feed at temperature 35±1° C (P1S2), fed with commercial feed combined with willow leaf at temperature 35±1° C (P2S2), fed with commercial feed combined with willow leaf and chromium at temperature 35±1° C (P3S2). The treatments were carried out for 15 days. Then, relative growth rate and proximate levels of proteins were calculated using Kjedahl methods. The results showed that there was an increase of the mean of relative growth rate and proximate levels of protein. Based on statistical test using factorial completely randomized design it was showed that there was a significant effect (P<0.01) on the interaction of feeding and temperature with the relative growth rate, but did not affect the relative growth rate of tilapia fish. The proximate level of tilapia fish protein was affected very significantly (P<0.01) by the food and the interaction between food and temperature as well, while the temperature treatment gave no significant effect on the proximate level of tilapia fish protein. In conclusion, the commercial feed combined with willow leaf and chromium can increase the relative growth rate and the proximate level of protein of tilapia fish exposed to heat stress.Key words: relative growth rate, proximate protein, willow leaf, chromium, tilapia fish

Abstract

Research about students? perceptions concerning the learning environment based on biology teachers? TPACK still limited. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the impact of biology teachers? TPACK on students? perceptions concerning their learning environment. TPACK scores were obtained from instrument in the form of multiple-choice test questions. Furthermore, students? perceptions of their learning environment were obtained using a Likert scale questionnaire. Two biology teachers were used as research samples determined by purposive sampling, which is referring to their TPACK score. Furthermore, students who became the research sample were students from those two teachers that consists of 64 students. The analysis results show that teachers have different TPACK ability at the level of TPACK forming components. Furthermore, there are differences in students' perceptions based on their teachers' TPACK ability. The results were indicated teacher professionalism, in this case, TPACK has the impact on learning environment. Therefore, teachers, schools, government, and education providers are expected to give special attention to teacher professionalism.

Abstract

Abstract: Teacher?s understanding of science is a prerequisite for teaching science. Due to the lack of science background during their studies, some primary school teachers have limited understanding of science. This study aims at identifying primary school teacher?s understanding of essential science concepts. Data were collected from 293 participants of workshops of professional certification program at university. Teacher?s understanding was measured using a multiple choice test whose answers are in the form of degree of certainty. The study finds that many teachers do not have good understanding of science. Misconceptions are also identified in a number of areas. Student textbooks, myths spread over in the communities, and narrow interpretation of religious teaching are some sources of teacher?s misconceptions. These findings suggest that future professional development program for primary school teachers should be designed in the areas of subject matters and subject matter pedagogy. Keywords: elementary school teachers, misconception, science, understanding

Abstract

KONTRIBUSI PENGETAHUAN KONTEN, PEDAGOGI, DAN TEKNOLOGI TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN TPACK GURU IPA AbstrakModel integrasi teknologi mengalami perubahan dari model yang berfokus pada teknologi ke model yang berfokus pada pedagogi, salah satunya adalah TPACK. Informasi mengenai kemampuan TPACK guru IPA dan kontribusi pengetahuan konten, pedagogi, dan teknologi dalam pembentukan TPACK guru masih belum banyak tersedia. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai kemampuan TPACK guru IPA dan kontribusi pengetahuan konten, pedagogi, dan teknologi dalam pembentukan TPACK. Penelitian survei ini melibatkan 88 orang guru mata pelajaran IPA Kota Banda Aceh. Data mengenai kemampuan TPACK guru diperoleh dari soal tes berbentuk pilihan berganda. Penyebaran soal dilakukan secara langsung melalui kegiatan pelatihan. Analisis data dilakukan secara statistik deskriptif dan inferensial (pemodelan SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil kemampuan TPACK guru IPA SMP di Kota Banda Aceh didominasi oleh  pengetahuan konten (CK). Hasil analisis SEM-PLS menunjukkan bahwa CK, PK, dan PCK secara langsung dan tidak langsung berkontribusi dalam pembentukan TPACK guru IPA SMP di Kota Banda Aceh. Pemerintah dan penyelenggara pendidikan diharapkan dapat membantu guru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menggunakan teknologi secara efektif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran agar terbentuk TPACK yang komprehensif.AbstractThe model of technology integration has changed from models that focus on technology to models that focus on pedagogy, one of which is TPACK. The information about science teachers? TPACK and the contribution of content, pedagogy, and technology on the formation of science teachers? TPACK is still limited. Therefore, this research aimed to obtain information about the science teachers? TPACK and the contribution of content, pedagogy, and technology on the formation of TPACK. This survey research involved 88 science teachers from Banda Aceh City. The data about science teachers? TPACK was obtained from multiple-choice test questions. The questions were distributed directly through training activities. Data analysis was performed by descriptive and inferential statistics (SEM-PLS modeling). The results showed that the TPACK ability profile of junior high school science teachers in Banda Aceh City was dominated by content knowledge (CK). The results of the SEM-PLS analysis showed that CK, PK, and PCK, directly and indirectly, contributed to the formation of the science teachers? TPACK in junior high school in Banda Aceh City. The government and education providers were expected to be able to help teachers to improve the ability to use technology effectively in learning activities to form a comprehensive TPACK.

Abstract

ABSTRACT- The research is aimed to know level of inquiry skill of elementary school teacher candidate as this type of skill is considered as appropropriate for achieving science skill processes during teaching and learning processes in scientific knowledge. This research follows the qualitative paradigm. To achieve the research goal, the data was collected upon 30 teacher candidates by using tests, observation, questionnaires, and     interview. The obtained data were descriptively analyzed. The result shows that inquiry skill level of elementary school teacher candidate is regarded as insufficient. Key words: inquiry skill

Abstract

Purposes of the research are to know effect of fuel heating in cylinder block and ethanol addition in gasoline on torsion and power of Motorcycle Yamaha Vega R 2009.The research is an experimental one. Sample is taken by using purposive sampling technique. Sample of the research is Motorcycle Yamaha Vega R 2009 with machine number MH34D72039J261872. Data of torsion and power is obtained by using dynotest Sportdyno V3.3. Data of the research is, first, data of torsion  and power without fuel heating and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%; second, data of torsion and power with one-pipe fuel heating and variation of ethanol and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%; third, data of torsion and power with two-pipe fuel heating and variation of ethanol and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%; data of torsion and power with three-pipe fuel heating and variation of ethanol and variation of ethanol and gasoline mixes are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 30%.Based on results of the research, it can be concluded that, first, the fuel heating either one-pipe, two-pipe, or three-pipe types can reduce torsion and power of motorcycle Yamaha Vega R 2009; second, ethanol addition of premium gasoline can reduce torsion and power of the motorcycle; third, the highest torsion of the tests, namely 8.913 N.m., was found for 0% ethanol addition without fuel heating, whereas the lowest torsion, namely 8.493 N.m., was found with variation of ethanol additions of 20% and 25% and two-pipe fuel heating; fourth, the highest power, namely 8.467 HP, was found with variation of ethanol additions of 0% and 5% without fuel heating, whereas the lowest power, namely 7.933 HP, was found with ethanol addition of 30% and two-pipe fuel heating.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan/mendeskripsikan kemampuan Subjek Spesifik Pedagogi mahasiswa calon guru biologi yang mengikuti program Pendidikan Profesional Guru (PPG) angkatan 2012-2013 melalui pendekatan konsekutif.  Hasil sementara menunjukkan  bahwa Kemampuan Subject Specific Pedagogy mahasiswa calon guru biologi yang berlatar belakang Biologi murni program Basic Science masih minim, dapat dilihat dari hasil CoRes dan PaP-eRs buatan mereka sebelum mengikuti workshop. Setelah workshop semester I diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup baik.   This study aimed to describe / describes the ability of prospective students Subject Specific Pedagogy biology teachers who follow the Professional Teacher Education Program (PTEP) 2012-2013 armed consecutive approach. Preliminary results indicate that the ability of prospective students Subject Specific Pedagogy biology teacher who belongs to the pure Biology Basic Science program is minimal, it can be seen from the cores and pap-ers made ​​them before the workshop. After the workshop the first half of the obtained results that showed a pretty good improvement.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan kemampuan inkuiri dan sikap mahasiswa calon guru sekolah dasar yang merupakan bagian dari tahapan penelitian disertasi. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah perkembangan kemampuan inkuiri dan sikap mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran pada konsep IPBA? Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui  observasi kelas, kuesioner, dan wawncara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan bantuan statistik deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Februari  s.d April 2011 yang melibatkan 2 dosen IPA dan 30 mahasiswa S1 PGSD semester IV. Materi yang dibahas mencakup: atmosfer, batuan dan mineral, bentuk dan gerakan matahari?bumi?bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan inkuiri mahasiswa dari setiap aspek meliputi:  merumuskan masalah (66,7%), membuat hipotesis (66,7%), merancang penyelidikan ilmiah (59,3%), menggunakan alat dan teknik yang tepat (61,3%), menginterpretasi data  (66,7%), mengkomunikasikan prosedur dan hasil penyelidikan ilmiah (57,3%), dan menggunakan matematika dalam penyelidikan ilmiah (52,7%). (2) Sikap mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran dari setiap aspek menunjukkan: persiapan penelitian (83,3%), langkah kerja (78,6%), afektif (70,8%), kegiatan akhir (55,5%). Kata kunci : kemampuan inkuiri, sikap, ilmu pengetahuan bumi antariksa, calon guru sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kemunculan keterampilam proses sains dan penguasaan pengetahuan prosedural siswa pada kegiatan praktikum yang dipandu oleh  Lembar Kerja Siswa dengan bentuk yang berbeda, yaitu LKS teks, LKS gambar dan LKS video. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil analisis perbandingan kemunculan keterampilan proses secara kesuluruhan (meliputi empat indikator KPS) dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal –Wallis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas LKS teks dengan kelas LKS video. Dua dari empat indicator menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas LKS teks dengan kelas LKS video yaitu keterampilan merencanakan praktikum dan keterampilan menggunakan alat/bahan. Hasil analisis mengenai pengetahuan prosedural tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan baik hasil perhitungan uji Kruskal –Wallis  maupun perbandingan indeks gain.  Adanya perbedaan keterampilan proses dan tidak adanya perbedaan pengetahuan prosedural ini berkaitan dengan bentuk penyajian LKS yang berbeda. Kata kunci : LKS, teks, gambar, video, keterampilan proses sains, pengetahuan prosedural, praktikum.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kemampuan Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) guru biologi senior (mengajar &gt; 20 th) dan guru junior ( mengajar &lt; 10 th). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus, partisipannya adalah dua orang guru biologi junior dan dua orang guru biologi senior. Kemampuan ini diukur dengan meminta guru membuat CoRes dan PaP-eRs pada materi transportasi zat yang dilanjutkan dengan teknik wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa guru senior memunculkan tujuh konsep penting yang harus diajarkan sedangkan guru junior memunculkan antara delapan sampai 10 konsep. Guru senior lebih fokus pada konsep-konsep yang cenderung menimbulkan miskonsepsi dan pada bagian sulit dipahami oleh siswa seperti konsep difusi dan osmosis, serta pembelajaran lebih kepada penggunaan metode. Guru senior lebih fleksibel menggunakan strategi mengajar, disesuaikan dengan kondisi dilapangan dan keadaan siswa. Guru junior lebih fokus pada kedalaman materi dan model-model pembelajaran yang akan digunakan. Penggunaan strategi cenderung kurang fleksibel, lebih dikaitkan pada perencanaan yang sudah dibuat.Kata kunci : Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), biologi, guru berpengalaman, guru belum berpengalaman
