Abstract

Social environment provides organization capability in knowledge creation, transfer and implementation which leading the company into successful knowledge management by providing competitive human capital. PT. Unilever Indonesia, Tbk as successful Indonesian company in Knowledge Management was awarded the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) in Asia from 2005 until 2009. The study objectives are 1) to identify knowledge management implementation 2) to analyze the gap between perceived and actual implementation factors in knowledge management 3) to analyze social environment success factor in knowledge management implementation. The primary data collection methods were using questionnaires from 86 respondents and in depth interview with Learning Specialist of PT. Unilever Indonesia, Tbk, and secondary data were collected from journals, books, company annual year reports and other related literatures. There were five knowledge management implementation approaches used by the company: human resources development, learning environment as a culture, stakeholders? knowledge as one of resources, community education and supported infrastructure and facilities. Statistical analysis showed there is no gap between perceived and actual implementation factors in knowledge management. And trust, autonomy, involvement and empowerment were the social environment key success factors in knowledge management implementation.

Abstract

In the Siak River, Riau, the water quality in the downstream area is relatively bad due to pollutant originated from several sources such as industrial and domestic wastes. The low quality water may negatively affects the growth of fish and it is reflected in the growth pattern in the otolith of fish living in that river. To understand the growth pattern in the otolith of Pristolepis grooti (Anabantidae)living in that river, a study has been conducted. Totally 25 fishes were captured from the downstream of the Siak River. The otolith were then removed and processed following Windarti (2007) and investigated under a binocular microscope to study the growth ring pattern in the otolith. The number of dark growth ring was counted. Results shown that 2 to 5 dark growth rings, around 0.086 mm thick were present in the otolith of the fish. The presence of the dark growth rings in the otolith indicated that the growth of P. grooti in the downstream of the Siak River was hampered and this fact also suggested that the water quality in the downstream of the Siak River is not sufficient to support the life P. grooti in that area.

Abstract

AbstractAnabas testudineus is type of fish commonly inhabit the Lubuk Siam Lake in Riau. However, information on reproductive biology of the fish is rare. To understand the biologycal aspects of this fish, astudy was conducted.The fish was sampled once at two weeks for a month period, from July to August 2019. Parameters measured were sex ratio, gonad maturity level, Gonad Somatic Index (GSI), fecundity and egg diameter. Result shown that there was 44 males and 53 females (sex ratio 1:1) . The female?s body is larger and has brighter color than those of the male. The gonadal matury leves in females was 4 in Lubuk Siam River.The Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) of male is around0.40% - 1.13%  and female is around 0.57%-4.60%. The average fecundity of the female was 1.986 -3.318. Egg diameter was around 0.53 - 0.58 mm. This result indicated that betok fish were total spawner. Diameter and the evenly indicate the fish is total spawner. The  absence of major females in the study area may indicate that the study area is not spawning graund.Keywords: Sex ratio, gonad maturity level, gonad somatix index, fecundity, Total Spawner

Abstract

AbstractPuntius hexazona (Sumatra fish) is a type of freshwater fish that inhabits the streams in the Riau University area and the upstream of the Sibam River. A study aims to understand the reproductive biology of P.hexazona has been conducted from May-August 2019. The fish was sampled 6 times, twice/month. Parameters measured were sexual characteristics, sex ratio, gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index (GSI), fecundity and egg diameter. Results shown that the fish from the streamswas 54 (24 males and 30 females,  sex ratio of 1: 1.25), while that of the Sibam River was 38 (16 males and 22 females, sex ratio of 1: 1.38). The average of GSI and fecundity of the fish from the streams was 3.37 and 432 respectively, while those of the Sibam River was 3.08 and 327. Egg diameter of all fish sampled was ranged from  0.33 to 0.78 mm. The eggs distribute evenly in the ovary an it indicates that the fish is a total spawner.Keywords: Sumatra fish, gonad maturity level, gonad somatic index, fecundity, total spawner.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Channa lucius is one of freshwater fishes that inhabit the Kampar Lama Oxbow Lake. This research aims to determine the type of food present in the fish?s stomach. To understand the type of food consumed by C. lucius, a research has been conducted at July to August 2019. There were 107 fishes captured, but only 38 fish have full stomach. The analysis was conducted using a gravimetric method. Stomach content was analysis as a basis to calculate the Preponderance Index (PI).  Result shown that the main food of C. lucius is fish (PI 98%) and the complementary food is insects (PI 1%). The water quality parameter of the Kampar Lama Oxbow Lake are as follows : temperature 28-29°C, transparency 47.5-48 cm, pH 5, DO 4.06-4.47 mg/L, and CO2 9.98-11.98 mg/L.Keyword : Channidae, gut content, gravimetric method, index of preponderance

Abstract

Abstract            Channa lucius or snakehead fishinhabit the Kampar Lama Oxbow Lake. This research aims to understand the pattern of otolith growth rings ofthat fish and it was conducted in July to August 2019. The fish were caught using fish trap, once/week. There were 58 fishes (38 male fishes and 20 female fishes). The otolith (sagita) were removed and manually shaved. Growth ring pattern was studied using a binocular microscope. Among the fishes captured, only 49 fishes have dark growth rings in their otolith.  The otolith length was 5.49-9.87 mm and their weight was 0.0212-0.0635 g. The number of dark ring in the otolith was 1-3. Result shown that the distance between the nucleus and the first dark ring ranges from 0.2-1.45 mm, indicating that the first dark ring were formed individually and they were not formed by periodical incident in the fish life. Water quality in the sampling area was good and it may be sufficient to support the life of C. lucius. Keywords :dark ring, channidae, growth pattern , sagita

Abstract

Banyaknya industri yang berkembang saat ini menyebabkan meningkatnya kadar logam berat seperti merkuri dalam perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kerusakan struktur jaringan lambung ikan kakap putih (L. calcarifer) yang dipaparkan pada [Hg (NO3)2] dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda. Dalam penelitian ini, ikan dipaparkan dengan konsentrasi 3,16 x 10-2 ppm, 9,99 x 10-2 ppm, 3,16 x 10-1 ppm dan 9,97 x 10-1 ppm. Total ikan yang digunakan untuk histologi adalah 15 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi [Hg (NO3)2] maka kerusakan pada jaringan lambung ikan juga akan meningkat dan mempercepat waktu kematian ikan. Kerusakan yang terjadi yaitu Hipertropi pada sel mukosa lambung, hancurnya villi, terdapatnya ruang antar lapisan otot dan villi serta menipisnya lapisan villi pada konsentrasi [Hg (NO3)2] yang lebih tinggi. Many industries today lead to increased levels of heavy metals such as mercury in water. This research aims to determine the effect of different concentrations of [Hg (NO3) 2] to Asean Sea Bass (L. calcarifer): Gill Histology. In this study, this fishes was treated with 3,16 x 10-2 ppm, 9,99 x 10-2 ppm, 3,16 x 10-1 ppm, and 9,97 x 10-1 ppm. Total fishes used for histological study was 15 fishes. Results of this research showed that increasing the consentrations of the [Hg(NO3)2] will also increase the damage on the stomach structure and fasten the mortality time of the fish. Damage that occurs is hypertrophy aand hyperplacia on epitel cells, , fuse of secundary lamellae and haemorhage on gill that were exposed to high consentration of [Hg(NO3)2].

Abstract

Kryptopterus apogon is one of the freshwater fishes that inhabit the Danau Baru oxbow lake. This study aimed to understand the stomach content of the fish living in the lake and also to understand its reproductive biology during the period of December-February 2017.The number of fish captured were 45 fishes ( 24 females and 21 males). The stomach content was analyzed using a gravimetry method, while its reproductive biology was noted.  K. apogon is as carnivorous fish and the types of food present in the stomach was fish (98.644%) as main food, crustaceans (0.940%) and insects (0.001%) as additional food. Mature fishes (13 females and 14 males) present throughout the research period, but the peak of reproductive activities occurred in February.  The Maturity Index of female ranged from 0.09-5.45% and that of the male was 0.07-0.18%. The fecundity of the fish was 36.075-540.72 eggs (in 340-690 mm TL and 197.5-1.725 gr BW females). This fish is total spawner,  and the diameter of eggs from the anterior, middle and posterior parts of the ovary was around 0.866 mm. These fish tend to consume fish during its gonad development.

Abstract

This research was conducted on February to April 2017 The study areas Marisa Beach, Tanayao Beach, Botogawu Beach and Fofola Indah Beach. A survey method was applied and data obtained from 189 respondents were descriptively analyzed.  The aimed of this study was to review the objects and issues of marine ecotourism has been conducted from February to April 2017. The study areas Marisa Beach, Tanayao Beach, Botogawu Beach and Fofola Indah Beach. A survey method was applied and data obtained from 189 respondents were descriptively analyzed.      Based on research results Tuhemberua Subdistrict is potential and suitable to be developed as marine ecotourism area. Activities that can be developed are swimming, sunbathing, beach recreation, water sports and boating. The main problems identified are as follow: less participation of stakeholders in developing the marine ecotourism, less attention from local governments in providing adequate facilities in each marine ecotourism object.  Scores of Tourism Suitability Index (TSI) was 97.44-100% and scores of Carrying Capacity Area was 222-318 persons/day. The highest TSI score was obtained in the Botogawu Beach and Fofola Indah Beach (100%) and the highest Carrying Capacity score was in the Fofola Indah Beach (318 persons/day). There were three main strategies for developing the marine ecotourism activities, namely anticipating and handling the threat of coastal abrasion and degradation, cooperation with travel agency as well as coastal conservation efforts.

Abstract

In recent years, many net cages for aquaculture activities, especially for culturing Wallago leeri and Mystus numerus are placed along the Kampar River, especially in the Buluhcina Village. The remain of fish feed, namely rotten chicken flesh have polluted the water. This study aimed to identify the cage culture profile; to analyze the feasibility of the business and the carrying capacity of the environment. This research was conducted in August 2016 ? March 2017. There are three observation stations,  Station 1 (before the cage area), Station 2 (the cage area) and Station 3 (after the cage area). Sampling was conducted once. The length of the river is 1.4 Km and 594 single unit net cages are placed along 1,2 Km river. Among the cages, 570 units (96% )are used to the culture of W. leeri,  19 units (3.2%) for M. numerus and the rest, 3 units are for rearing Pangasius sp. and Oreochromis niloticus (1 unit). The carrying capacity of the waters is 496.1 tons/year. The current annual production of W. leeri is 228 tons/year, it is less than the maximum potency.  It is predicted that the culture can be increased by 258.5 ton/year or 646 cages. The recent RCR value is 1.120, indicates that this business is profitable and it could be continued.
