Abstract

System of temperature control are used in many facility such as room temperature control, quality control of food and drink, electronic equipment control and etc. control of temperature can be done by using microcontroller as a media processing and process the changes of temperature that occured to the voltage. One of supporting component on the microcontroller to detect the change of temperature is temperature sensor LM 35 which in this study we will focus on the temperature sensor LM 35 for detect of change of temperature on the sea water in a small scale. the purpose of this study is to determine the ability and performance of temperatur sensor LM 35 for detect the changes of temperature sea water and check the condition of temperatur sensor LM 35 in use on the sea water. The results show that the temperature sensor of LM 35 can be used to measure the changes of temperatur sea water without have higher difference on the actual value and experiment results. the range of difference is smaller and the temperature sensor of LM 35 can be used to measured the change of temperature of sea water.Keywords: LM 35 Sensor, Microcontroller ATmega 8535, Sea Water Temperature

Abstract

Welding process become a major part for small and large industries. Large industries using welding processes for cutting process plates, connecting plates, connecting pipelines and other components of the repair process. For small industries, welding process is used to maintenance and repair the automotive components industry that damaged, the manufacture of household appliances, office or public billboards. The demand for the product  of the welding process is increasing depend of area developing such as for home appliances, office or public billboard is very high demand due to the increase of residential property, real eastate, development and other areas of the city. The demand of the welding process product can not much utilized in Central Bengkulu district, where orders for the manufacture of a product housing, offices or billboards only mastered by a few workshops. High demand, the availability of garages or welding industries is few that make employment opportunities are very high. But this demand needs to be supported by human resources capable of using a welding machine. In this community service given basic training in welding techniques to help people in Central Bengkulu especially Talang Empat and Taba Terunjam in exploiting existing this opportunities. Training provided is use of the welding machine to make a trellis, fence or a seat with the type of welding machine capable of TIG or MIG welding. The results of welding training shows that people who can not follow the formal and informal education has a high desire for this training. This is to improve they skill, economy and living standards by utilizing the welding knowledge to create new jobs or working with existing workshops. Keywords: Fence, Trellis, Welding, Productive Age, Training

Abstract

The daily life of the people in Pasar Pedati Village and Harapan Village, Central Bengkulu Regency, especially the housewives is processing agricultural products such as cassava, copra, and banana.Cassava is made into cassava chips and rengginang. This devotional activity aims to transfer technology and science in processing agricultural products and help villagers to create versatile dryers.This versatile drying machine works by utilizing solar and heat energy absorbed by copper plates where the heat is insulated using a glass layer.Heat utilization is made by copper plate so it must be made with transparent glass design on the top and around the wall of the dryer.The frame of the glass stand is made of aluminum and is assembled using a rivet.The process of choosing and making of this drying machine involves the people of Pasar Pedati Village and Harapan Village, both men and women. Most of the men in Pasar Pedati Village work on farming and also work outside the village, so that during the day there are housewives working on the process of drying their crops.With this versatile drying machine training, Pasar Pedati and Desa Harapan villagers are particularly enthusiastic in training. Because these dryers are very helpful for them in processing the crops better, cleaner, and the time is not too long.Drying process with this drying machine also does not require a large area. Drying cassava made into cassava chips and rengginang takes about 2-3 hours, compared to manual drying done by drying the open yard takes 12-16 hours.The society can make this tool itself in order to increase their income.Keywords: dryer machine, cassava, aluminum copra, solar cell

Abstract

ABSTRACTPematang Gubernur, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City, is a town where many people do small business making and selling traditional cakes or fried foods. This business uses vegetables, such as potato, carrot, cabbage   as base ingredients.  However, the people have not yet used technology to help them do the work, especially for the vegetable cutting process. Hence, they lack of time efficiency and consistency in size of the cut food. To overcome this, technology is needed in the form of a multipurpose vegetable cutting machine capable of cutting large capacity vegetables in no time. This community service activity aims to assist technology transfer programs to the community. The team of this program introduces the vegetable cutting machines, as well as providing and motivating ways to create, install and use vegetable cutting machines. Methods used in this program include assisting in the identification of vegetable / grass cutting machine components, design assistance, material selection and manufacturing of cutting machines and practice using cutting machines. The results show that participants are very interested in making and using the equipment. They expect the sustainability of this activity. Participants hope that this activity will be continued with training in making various forms of vegetable cutting mold. Abstract

Bengkulu Province has many potentials such as beaches, conservation forests, plantations and others. Plantations in Bengkulu consist of smallholders and private / BUMN businesses. Smallholder plantations include coffee, black pepper, palm, rubber, areca nut and other gardens. The results of this plantation are still traditionally processed, which is drying and drying in the open with the help of solar heat. This drying process is still being implemented where the quality is poorly controlled. This has caused the yield of the plantation in Bengkulu to be unknown to other regions. like coffee in the Bengkulu area which has a distinctive taste characteristic compared to other regions. Coffee that is processed is Robusta or Arabica coffee which is the mainstay of the people of Air Raman Village, Bengkulu Province. The processing process is dried in the yard of the house, field, roadside and others. This drying and processing process is easily polluted from dust, animal waste, uneven drying. And the erratic drying time causes the villagers to need a machine or garden processing technology. One technology is a rotary dryer. Rotary drying machines can be used by utilizing regional potential such as solar energy, wind energy, water energy and others. In addition to Coffee, this village also has garden products such as black pepper, Pinang and others where the process is the same as the coffee harvest. The advantage of this dryer is a shorter drying time, the use of solar energy can minimize operational costs for drying coffee and black pepper. The dried coffee and black pepper are free from animal waste, dust and various other types of garbage and the process of drying more than 4 days from drying is done manually / in the public yard. This is because the temperature inside the drying machine is rotary higher than the open air, the level of dryness of coffee and black pepper is produced evenly, because the temperature in the rotary dryer is equipped with a stirrer evenly spread so that the stirring process is no longer necessary. . The working mechanism of this tool is expected to help people producing coffee and black pepper to dry their crops so that the quality of coffee and black pepper is good and the selling value is high. The output of PPM activities The application of science and technology is a high selling value that will increase people's income, improve people's welfare to be better and also create new jobs for the community as a producer of rotary drying machines. The availability of appropriate technology for the design and construction of rotary drying machines. Scientific publications at the national level are published in the national journal Dharma Raflesia December 2018

Abstract

This community service aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of the fishermen community of Pantai Jakat Bengkulu city in using gas fuel converted from liquid fuel. The community service was conducted in the form of a traning. The activities involved the fishermen in installing the converter kit of a gas fuel; trying out the genset which used the gas fuel; and evaluating the performance of the genset. After the training, the participant were asked to give opinion about the possibility of using the converted gas in their day to day fishing activities. The results of the training showed that the fishermen have a positive responses toward the use of the gas fuel for the genset. However, they still have some worries toward the safety of using the converted gas fuel.  Keywords: Genset, Gas Fuel
