Abstract

Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Kebun Tinjowan, Kabupaten Simalungun, Sumatera Utara bertujuan melatih keterampilan dan kemampuan dalam bidang perkebunan, serta memperoleh pengalaman kerja secara langsung dengan mempelajari aspek teknis maupun manajerial. Hal yang diamati dalam pengelolaan panen adalah angka kerapatan panen, kehilangan hasil, taksasi produksi, kualitas pekerjaan panen, rotasi panen, kriteria panen, kebutuhan tenaga panen, sarana dan prasarana panen, organisasi panen, serta transportasi panen. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan pengelolaan panen perlu ditingkatkan. Pencegahan kehilangan hasil perlu digalakkan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTEffective and efficient fertilization is affected by fertilizer dose, and therefore information on the appropriate dose of a single fertilizer for oil palm will be beneficial to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of fertilization in oil palm plantations. The objectives of this research were to study the response patterns and to determine optimum rate of single fertilizer package related to the growth of one year old oil palm trees. The experiment was conducted from March 2013 to February 2014 at IPB-Cargill Teaching and Research Farm of Oil Palm, Jonggol Bogor. The experiment was arranged in randomized block design with one factor and replicated three times. The treatments were four single fertilizer package as followed: control, 300 g urea + 375 g SP-36 + 350 g KCl + 25 g boric acid + 25 g CuSO4.5H2O, 600 g urea + 750 g SP-36 + 700 g KCl + 25 g boric acid + 25 g CuSO4.5H2O, 900 g urea + 1125 g SP-36 + 1050 g KCl + 25 g boric acid + 25 g CuSO4.5H2O per plant. The result showed that application of single fertilizer package significantly increased the growth of young oil palm linearly as shown by plant height, stem girth, leaf area of frond number 9, chlorophyll and P content of the leaves and quadratically on leaf number at the last observation. The optimum rate of single fertilizer for one year old oil palm trees had not been attained at this research because the plant growth response to fertilization was still linear.Keywords: inorganic, leaf frond number 9, optimum rate, growth response, stem girth

Abstract

ABSTRACTMolecular genetic analysis of hard bunch phenomenon in oil palm was done in order to elucidate the role of genetic factor underlying hard bunch in oil palm plantation. The aim of this study was to identify the AFLP primer combination that co-segregates with hard bunch phenotype related gene in oil palm. Molecular analysis was done by bulk segregant analysis approach. DNA was isolated from leaves of the normal and hard bunch palm. DNA from ten individual palms from each category were pooled and used as a template. A total of 56 AFLP primer combinations were selected for selection of polymorphic primer, and as a result it was found that 22 AFLP primer combinations (39.28%) were polymorphic. A total of 48 individual of palm DNA containing 24 individual for each group were further genotyped by those 22 polymorphic markers. Of these, one AFLP primer combination (E-ACC/M-CTG) was obtained as a co-segregated marker that distinguished the hard bunch DNA from the normal one. Based on the analysis of the target sequence aligned to the oil palm DNA sequences available in database, we found that our sequence has similarity with Ty-1 copia retrotransposon. This sequence distribute in all 16 linkage group of oil palm genome.Keywords: abnormal fruits, AFLP, oil palm, Ty-1 copia retrotransposon

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the change of vegetative growth of root on some genotypes soybeanof aluminium toxicity, drought stress, and double stress (Al toxicity and drought stress). Research in rooting systemof soybean is hoped to get more attention, especially for supporting concept of new plant type for high yieldingpotential. Six genotypes of soybean (Slamet, Sindoro, Dieng, Sinyonya, Lumut, and Wilis), treated with aluminiumsaturated (Al 25%, Al 50%, and Al 75%) and field capacity (80% FC and 40% FC). Response of growth vegetativeidentified perception by root dry weight. Result of the study show that only one from six that is genotype Wiliswas tolerant at aluminium toxicity, drought stress, and double stress.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effect of N, P, K and Mg fertilizers on growth and quality of Aloe vera chinensis in peat soil of Indragiri Hilir Riau.  The research was conducted at PT Bhumireksa Nusasejati Plantation, Indragiri Hilir Riau.  The research was arranged by Factorial Randomized Block Design  with 4 factors, 4 levels, 3 replications.  The first factor was N dosage fertilizer (N0 is equal to 0g, N1 is equal to 5g, N2 is equal to 10g, N3 is equal to 20g N/plant/month), The second factor was P dosage fertilizer (P0 is equal to 0g, P1 is equal to 4g, P2 is equal to 8g, P3 is equal to 16g P2O5/plant/month), The third factor was K dosage fertilizer (K0 is equal to 0g, K1 is equal to 7.5g, K2 is equal to 15g, K3 is equal to 30g K2O/plant/month), The fourth factor was Mg dosage fertilizer (Mg0 is equal to 0g, Mg1 is equal to 2.5g, Mg2 is equal to 5g, Mg3 is equal to 10g MgO/plant/month).  The results showed that the application of N, K and Mg dosage significantly increased plant height, leaf length, leaf width, leaf thickness, and the number of leaf by quadratic response.  Combination of N and P fertilizer  significantly raised the leaf fresh weight.  The complete treatment (NPKMg) and single factor either N and Mg did not increase the total chlorophyll and protein content , in contrast, P and K as a single factor significantly  increased  the total chlorophyll but not protein content. Abstract

ABSTRAKPower line communications adalah suatu alat yang digunakan untuk berkomunikasi melalui label listrik (tegangan tinggi), teknik ini merupakan terobosan baru yang banyak dikembangkan saat ini. Secara umum level cairan yang digunakan untuk mengukur volume cairan didalam suatu tangki penampungan dengan cara manual melalui pipa kaca atau pipa transparan. Metode manual tersebut tidak dapat mengukur jumlah cairan didalam tangki secara tepat melalui pengembangan power line communications, jumlah cairan di dalam tangki penampungan ditentukan secara akurat dari jarak jauh. Desain alat ukur monitor volume cairan ini mengunakan Arduino UNO, sebagai sensor pembacanya melalui sensor ultrasonic.  Selanjutnya, komunikasi melalui power line communications akan menampilkan visual data volume dan waktu pengisian. Tujuan studi ini adalah memungkinkan untuk memonitor jumlah cairan dalam tangki penampungan dari jarak jauh melalui proses power line communications  tipe 7 inova 200 Mb Melalui jaringan komputer. Di dalam studi ini, pembacaan volume cairan yang ditampilkan secara visual  pada program delphi melalui  power line communications sebagai client dan power line communications sebagai server pada tegangan 220 Vac menghasilkan volume yang sama. Kata Kunci : Power Line Communications,  Arduino Uno, Sensor Ultrasonic

Abstract

Growth Response of Soybean with Mycorrizal Inoculation at Critical Condition of Aluminium and Draying DoubleABSTRACT. High level of aluminium in acid soil can restrict nutrient and water. Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) have been shown to decrease plant yield losses in acid soil. The objective of this study was to examine the growth responses of green house-grown soy bean colonization by AMF. The experiment was conducted at Cikabayan experimental of Bogor Agricultural University from August 2003 to February 2004. Six genotypes soy bean that result of root bioassay treated by Al by saturated (Al 25 %, Al 50 %, and Al 75 %), field capacity (80 % and 40 % FC) and Inoculated by mycorrhizae (without AMF and by AMF). Root and shoot dry matter were higher in mycorrhizal than in non mycorrhizal plants.

Abstract

This research was aimed at studying the effectiveness of  mycorrhiza, inorganic and organic fertilizer (fish and shrimp waste) on growth, yield and quality of Aloe in peat soil. The study was conducted on peat area, North Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Mycorrhizal application levels (without mycorrhiza, Mycofer and mycorrhizal from pineapple's rhizosphere) were as main-plot. The inorganic fertilizer (composition of N:P:K:Mg) rates (without inorganic fertilizer;  5 : 4 : 7.5 : 2.5 g/plant;  10 : 8 : 15 : 5 g/plant; and  20 : 16 : 30 : 10 g/plant) were as sub-plot.  Organic fertilizers: (fish; shrimp; fermented fish; and fermented shrimp wastes) were as sub-sub plot. The observed variables were: leaf width, leaf length, leaf fresh weight, plant dry weight, and nutrient uptake (N, P, K, Mg). The results showed that mycorrhizal application improved growth performance and increased N, P, Mg uptake. The best plant growth performance was achieved by N : P: K : Mg  =10 : 8 : 15 : 5 g/plant and fermented shrimp waste treatments.  The highest  N, P, K, Mg nutrients uptake was achieved by application of fermented organic  fertilizer.  Combination of mycorrhiza from pineapple's  rhizosphere with fermented fish and shrimp waste resulted in higher amino acids content compared to standard cultivation of  Aloe vera Center in Pontianak.   Key words:  Aloe vera, arbuscular mycorrhiza, inorganic fertilizer, organic fertilizer
