Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of the growth of oil palm seedlings with various media volume in the main nursery. The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study lasted for 7 months starting in January 2012 until July 2012. The research was carried out experimentally by using completely randomized design consisting of three (3) treatment with 6 (six) replicates that contained 18 experimental units. Each unit consists of 2 seeds. Total whole plant 36 seedlings were planted in 36 polybags. Treatment is the media volume consists of 3 levels ie: V1 = 8 liter/polybag, V2 = 7 liter/polybag, and V3 = 6 liter/polybag. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaf midrib, stump diameter, crown root ratio and dry weight of seedlings. The results showed that significantly affects the media volume increase in plant height parameters. But non-significantly to the amount of leaf midrib, plant bulbs diameter, crown ratio and dry weight of seedling roots. Keywords: media volume, oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

Pakchoy plants is one kind of vegetables that have commercial value and contains nutrients that are essential to the human body so favored by many people. Research is aimed to know the influence compost palm oil frond with decomposer which gives growth and yield good pakchoy held in greenhouse the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau for three months that is October until December 2011. The draft used are thoughts of random complete which consists of three and six deut treatment which D1 (Mikroorganism local), D2 (Trichoderma sp) dan D3 (EM-4). Based on the research has been done suggest that composting of palm frond with some decomposers in plants pakchoy results were not significantly different with plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weigt and root volume. Of this research, the plant pakchoy treated EM-4 decomposers tends to give a higher yield.   Keywords: Compost, Decomposer and Pakchoy

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of the growth of oil palm seedlings and how much kalium can absorb by oil palm seedlings on different organic fertilizersources with some planting medium. This research has done in experimental plantation Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from October until February 2013. This research used completely randomized design non factorial  with the combination of some organic fertilizer and some medium as the treatment. The organic fertilizer include: bird’s manure, sludge fertilizer, liquid organic fertilizer and without fertilizer as control. Some medium include: PMK soil, peat soil and mix of PMK and peat soil 1:1. The result showed that the best treatment was the combination of residue effect of liquid organic fertilizer in PMK and Peat soil medium because its can be inclined grow up fresh seedling weight, seedling dry weight, the quality of seedling’s indexand the absorb of kalium. Abstract

ABSTRACT Caisim is one of the many leafy vegetables marketed, in addition to foodstuffs can also be used for the treatment of various diseases, among others, to cure headaches, blindness disease, blood purifier, improves digestion and mempelancar, fever, sore throat, anti- cancer. Research objective was to repair work function studies to determine the effect of organic fertilizer for best growth and production caisim (Brassica rava cv). This research has been conducted in UPT (Technical Implementation Unit) experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru. This study was conducted over three months , starting from October to December 2011. Experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. Each treatment was repeated 5 times to obtain 25 experimental units . The treatment in this study was a control without fertilizer (P0), compost fertilizer TKKS 30 tonnes/ha (P1), chicken manure 20 tonnes/ha (P2), bokashi rice straw 5 tonnes/ha (P3) and fertilizer mashitam 0.5 tonnes/ha (P4). Data were obtained and analyzed statistically using analysis of varience (ANOVA). and followed by Dunnet test at the 5% level . The parameters measured were plant height (cm), root length (cm), leaf area (cm2), plant fresh weight (kg/plot) and the fresh weight of plants consumed (kg /plot). The results showed that chicken manure 20 tonnes /ha and composted oil palm empty fruit bunche (TKKS) 30 tonnes/ha gave the best results on the growth and yield of caisim. Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) and get the best treatment waste palm oil mill in the growing seed rubber stum mini. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Agriculture Riau University at Bina Widya of subdistrict Simpang Baru, district Tampan, Pekanbaru from April to July 2014. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications thus obtained 24 experimental units, each unit consist of 2 plants. The treatments are L0: not LCPKS, L1: 1,6 L LCPKS, L2: 2,4 L LCPKS, L3: 3,2 L LCPKS, L4: 4,0 L LCPKS and L5: 4,8 L LCPKS. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by further test DNMRT at 5% level. The results of research  indicate that of effect of palm oil mill effluent real effect on the parameter of the root crown ratio, but had nod significant effect on parameters of height seed, number of leaves, tuber diameter, seed dry weight and rubber seeds roots volume.  Effect of 2,4 L LCPKS indicate the best growth in all of parameters but effect of 1,6 L LCPKS in volume of rubber seedling roots. Abstract

Kailan (Brassica alboglabra) are vegetables that beneficial to human health because it can help digestion, neutralize acidity and prevent disease. Kailan cultivation is closely related to fertilization and cultivation technical factors. One of fertilizers that can provide nutrients for plants kailan is a liquid fertilizer. Agricultural land is increasingly narrow lead farmers, especially those living in urban areas should make efficient use of land in order to achieve maximum production, one of the ways that can be done to address the problem of limited land is cultivated verticulture system. The research aims to determine the effect of paralon positions and provision of various concentrations of complementary liquid fertilizer and to know the paralon position combination with complementary liquid fertilizer concentration appropriate to plant growth kailan (Brassica alboglabra) with verticulture cultivation system. The experiment was conducted at the home screen experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau for 3 months, from August to October 2014. The experiment was conducted by using a split plot design (Split Plot Design). The main plot is a variety of positions paralon (P), which consists of three levels: P1:Position paralon top (height 120 cm), P2: paralon middle position (height 80 cm), P3: Position paralon under (height 40 cm). The subplots are complementary liquid fertilizer concentration (B) consists of 4 levels: B0: Without fertilizer(control), B1: Fertilizers liquid complementary 1 cc/l water, B2: Fertilizers liquid complementary 2cc/l, B3: Fertilizers complementary liquid 3cc /l. The results showed that the combination treatment paralon position as the main plots and complementary liquid fertilizer as subplots provide no real effect on all parameters. Single factor paralon top position (120 cm) as well as complementary liquid fertilizer at a dose of 3 cc / l water can increase plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fresh weight, weight suitable for consumption and plant dry weight kailan. Abstract

The research entitled Residual effects of Empty Palm Bunches compost (EPB) after planting edamame soybean on growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research aims to determine the residual effects of EPB compost on growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicumL.). This research use completely randomized design (CRD) which consists 4 treatments that is EPB compost residue with a dose of 5 ton/ha (K1), EPB compost residue with dose of 10 ton/ ha (K2), EPB compost residue with dose of 15 ton/ha (K3) and EPB compost residue with dose of 20 ton/ha (K4) that each treatment consisted 4 replications, then obtain 16 units of trial. Parameters measured were the number of leaves per clump, the number of tubers per clump, tuber fresh weight per clump, circumference of tubers, plant dry weight and shelf tubers dry weight. The results show that the residual effects of the EPB compost treatment after planting edamame soybean significantly affected on number of leaves per clump, the number of tubers per clump, tuber fresh weight per clump, circumference of tubers, plant dry weight and shelf tubers dry weight of onion. The best growth and production of onion obtained by usage of EPB compost residue with dose of 20 ton/ha.   Keywords: Empty Palm Bunches compost, residues, onion

Abstract

The research intent to know ameliorant influence to efficient using of P fertilizers and the best recommanded for growth and production of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.) Situ Bagendit variety on ultisol. Research conducted in UPT area of research farm in faculty of agriculture, Riau University on Bina Widya Campus Km 12,5 sub-district of Simpang Baru, district of Tampan, Pekanbaru from December 2014 until Mei 2015. This research arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design which consist of 9 treatments and then obtained 27 experimental units with 3 sample each unit. Parameter observed rate of P, efficient of P absorption, efficient of production gram of grain rice, ameliorant influence in the efficient to absorp P fertilizer, ameliorant influence in the efficient to product of grain rice, plant height, productive tiller number, panicle length, the percentage of pithy grain, 1000 seed weight, dry of grain weight/family and dry plant of weight. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed by HSD at level of 5%. The result showed that giving ameliorant be BFA 12,5 g, green manure of krinyuh 12,5 g and green manure of krinyuh 12,5 g + BFA 12,5 g can give the best result in rate of P, efficient of P absorption, efficient of production gram of grain rice, ameliorant influence in the efficient to absorp P fertilizer, productive tiller number, plant height, dry of grain weight/family and dry plant of weight.   Keywords : ameliorant, P fertilizer, upland rice, ultisol.

Abstract

The cultivation of plants melon in Riau based on condition growing is in line, but there were several obstacles such as the land in riau levels of fertility land which is low.This research aims to determine the combination of doses of an empty oil palm bunches of compost and fertilizer n, p, k the best against growth and melon crop production (Cucumis melo L.) in the trial gardenFaculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted on February 2015 until June 2015. The research has been carried out experimentally in the form of Randomized Completely Design Factorial 2 x 4. The first factor is the dose compost of  oil palm empty fruit bunches consist of two levels and the second factor is the dose of N (ZA) fertilizer, P (TSP) fertilizer and K (KCL) fertilizer consist of four levels. Data analyzed by ANOVA and further tested using by Duncan`s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%.parameter made were higher plants, diameter of stem, appears the male flowers and female flowers, diameter of fruits, weight of fruits per sampel and weightof fruits per plot. The results showed the treatment compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches and N, P, K fertilizer significantly affect on the plants height, diameter of stem, appears the male flowers and female flowers but not significant on the diameter of fruits, weight of fruits per sampel and weightof fruits per plot. The application compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches with dose of 20 tons/ha and ZA fertilizer 120 kg/ ha, TSP fertilizer 80 kg/ha, KCl 200 kg/ ha is the best dose in order to enchance growth and production of melon. Abstract

The research aims to determine the interaction between subsoil mixture with compost TKKS and watering volume and determine the exact interaction to provide the best growth in oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. The reasearch was carried out for 5 months starting from october 2014 until february 2015. This reasearch was conducted in Greenhouse Agriculture Faculty University Of Riau Campus Bina Widya KM 12,5 Simpang Baru Tampan, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted experiments using completely randomized factorial design, which consisted of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is a mixture of ultisol sub soil with compost TKKS (C) based on the volume that consists of 3 levels, were : C1 = (1:2), C2 = (1:1), C3 = (2:1), the second factor is the watering volume (A) consisting of 3 levels, were :A1= 2 liter,A2= 1,5 liter, A3= 1 liter. Thus there are 9 combined treatment and 27 units of trial and each experimental unit contained two plants so that overall there are 54 plans. Results of analysis of variance followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The results showed that the interaction of a mixture of ultisol sub soil with compost TKKS the ratio of 1:2 and watering volume of 1.5 liter/day give the best effect on all parameters abserved.   Keywords :Oil palm, compost tkks, ultisol sub soil, watering volume.
