Abstract

This was a descriptive qualitative research that aimed to get informations about the application of Socrates Method through the contextual approach viewed by learning process of mathematics and critical thinking skills. The subject of the research was the students of X.4 class at Senior High School 5 Bandar Lampung in 2012/2013. The objects of this research were the process of learning and critical thinking skills. The data of research was got from observations,  interviews, test and journal.The average of critical thinking skills for Trigonometric was 77,65% with medium category, while Logic was 88,05% with very high category. From the observations on the process of learning, Socrates method was more applicable to Logic than Trigonometric. That was because teacher gives more contextual questions on the Logic subject. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi deskriptif tentang penerapan Metode Socrates melalui pendekatan kontekstual ditinjau dari proses pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X.4 SMA Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2012/2013.  Objek penelitian adalah proses belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis.  Data penelitian berupa hasil observasi, hasil wawancara, hasil tes, dokumentasi serta catatan lapangan.  Rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis untuk materi Trigonometri sebesar 77,65% dengan kategori sedang, sementara pada materi Logika sebesar 88,05% dengan kategori sangat tinggi.  Dari hasil pengamatan pada proses belajar, Metode Socrates lebih maksimal diterapkan pada materi Logika dibanding Trigonometri. Hal tersebut dikarenakan guru lebih banyak memberikan pertanyaan kontekstual pada materi Logika. Kata kunci: berpikir kritis, metode socrates, pendekatan kontekstual

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of problem-based learning model on student?s mathematics problem solving ability. The design of this research was posttest only control  group design. This research population was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 1 Pagelaran in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into ten classes. This research samples were students of VIII1 and VIII3 class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The research data were obtained by test of mathematics problem solving ability which were analyzed by Mann-Whitney test. Based on analysis of data, it concluded that problem solving learning model affects on student?s mathematics problem solving ability.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Pagelaran tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam sepuluh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII1 dan VIII3 yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang dianalisis menggunakan Uji Mann-Whitney. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.Kata kunci: konvensional, model PBL, pemecahan masalah matematis

Abstract

This naturalistic qualitative research aimed to describe students disposition of mathematical critical thinking in Contextual Socrates learning. The subject of this study were students of VII J class of SMPN 8 Bandarlampung in academic years of 2014/2015 which was obtained by purposive sampling technique. The data of this study was qualitative data about students' mathematical critical thinking disposition which were obtained by observation recording, documentation, and interviews. Before analysing the data, the researcher did the triangulation of data sources. Analysis of the data of this study used four stages, that were coding, reducting, and displaying of data, then getting the conclusion. Based on this study, it was concluded that the mathematical critical thinking disposition indicators which appeared dominantly in Socrates Contextual learning were curiousity and analyticality.Penelitian kualitatif naturalistik ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada Pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII J SMPN 8 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif mengenai disposisi berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Sebelum menganalisis data, peneliti melakukan triangulasi sumber data. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan 4 tahap, yaitu memberi kode, mereduksi, dan menyajikan data, kemudian menarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa indikator disposisi berpikir kritis matematis yang dominan muncul pada Pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual adalah rasa ingin tahu dan analitis.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis matematis, disposisi, Socrates Kontekstual

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research aimed to describe the students mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy in Socrates Contextual Learning. The subject of this research was students of VII-D class of SMPN 22 Bandarlampung in even semester, academic year of 2014/2015 who appeared indicators of mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy. The data of this research were obtained by observation recording, mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy scale, and interview. The interview in this research aimed to get deeper informations about students mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy. The analysis of data used three stages, that were reducting, displaying, and getting conclusion of data. Based on the analysis of data, it was concluded that students mathematical critical thinking self-efficacy which appeared dominantly in Socrates Contextual Learning was indicators on magnitude/level dimension.Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis siswa dalam Pembelajaran Socrates Kontekstual. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-D SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang memunculkan indikator self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, skala self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis, dan wawancara. Wawancara dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi yang lebih dalam mengenai self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Analisis data menggunakan tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan terhadap data. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa self-efficacy berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang dominan muncul dalam Pembelajaran Socrates Kotekstual adalah indikator pada dimensi magnitude/level.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis matematis, self-efficacy, socrates kontekstual

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to describe the students critical mathematical conversations on Socrates scientific learning. The subjects of this research were the students of VII-F class of SMPN 22 Pesawaran 2016/2017 academic year. This data was a qualitative data about critical mathematical conversation of students obtained through field notes, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis has been done through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that in critical mathematical conversation there were: (1) problems that contained indicators of interpretation or analysis more often lead to critical mathematical conversations, (2) analysis is an indicator of mathematical critical thinking ability that often raised by students, (3) Socrates question of clarification type is a type of Socrates question that widely used by the teachers and the students, (4) communicating step is a scientific step that students often do.Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan percakapan kritis matematis siswa pada pembelajaran Socrates saintifik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-F SMP Negeri 22 Pesawaran tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif tentang percakapan kritis matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui catatan lapangan, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh simpulan bahwa dalam percakapan kritis matematis terdapat: (1) permasalahan yang memuat indikator interpretasi atau analisis lebih sering memunculkan percakapan kritis matematis, (2) analisis adalah indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis yang sering dimunculkan siswa, (3) pertanyaan Socrates tipe klarifikasi adalah tipe pertanyaan Socrates yang sering digunakan oleh guru dan siswa, (4) langkah mengomunikasikan adalah langkah saintifik yang sering dilakukan siswa.Kata kunci: metode Socrates, pendekatan saintifik, percakapan kritis matematis

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to know the difference of students mathematical conceptual understanding between cooperative learning model of number head together type and cooperative learning model of think pair share type. The design of this research was post-test only control design. The population of this research was grade 8th students of SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2013/2014. The samples of this research were students of VIII-G and VIII-H class that were determined by purposive sampling technique. Based on the result of data analysis, it was concluded that there was no different of mathematical conceptual understanding between cooperative learning model of NHT and TPS type. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe number head together dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think pair share. Desain penelitian ini adalah posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 31 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII G dan VII H yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematis anatara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dan TPS.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep matematis, NHT, TPS

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research was aimed to find the percentage of students who have difficulty in solving word problems and it?s cause. The subject of this research was students of VIII B class of SMP Negeri 2 Banjit. The data were obtained by test and interview. According to the result of research, 7 of 28 students or 25% of students have difficulty in solving word problems. Based on the data analysis, the main cause of it?s difficulty was students did not master the prior concepts as many as 20%. Another factors which give influence were (1) physical factor as many as 12,5%, (2) psychology factor as many as 62,5%, and (3) exhaustion factor as many as 25%.Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita dan penyebabnya. Subjek peneli­ti­­­­­­­­­an ini­ adalah siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 2 Banjit. Data diperoleh melalui tes dan wawancara. Ber­dasar­­kan hasil penelitian, 7 dari 28 siswa atau 25% siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Berdasarkan analisis data, penyebab utama kesulitan tersebut adalah siswa tidak menguasai konsep-konsep sebelumnya sebesar 20%. Faktor lain yang mempengaruhinya adalah (1) faktor jasmaniah sebesar 12,5%, (2) faktor psikologis sebesar 62,5%, dan (3) faktor kelelahan sebesar 25%.Kata kunci: analisis, kesulitan, soal cerita

Abstract

This study aimed to describe students mathematical disposition in Socrates contextual learning. The subjects of this study were students of VII B class of SMP Gajah Mada Bandarlampung in academic year of 2015/2016. The data of this study was descriptive qualitative data about students mathematical disposition which were obtained by observation, interview, and documentation. The indicators of mathematical disposition were confidence, curiousity, flexibility, and determination. The data analysis was done in three stages, which were reducting, displaying and verificating of data. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded that Socrates contextual learning could show students mathematical disposition.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan disposisi matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran Socrates kontekstual. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VII B SMP Gajah Mada Bandarlampung tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif deskriptif mengenai disposisi matematis siswa yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Abstract

This research aimed to describe studentss mathematical representation discourse on learning by Socrates methode in scientific approach. Subjects of this research were students of VII B class of Junior High School 1 Natar in academic year of 2016/2017. Data of this research was qualitative data about studentss mathematical representation discourses description. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that mathematical representation discourse that occured: (a) mostly begins with Socrates questions posed by teacher with type of questions: clarification, assumptions and evidence of investigation, along reasons and evidence of investigation, (b) showed indicator of the ability of mathematical representation that set out in this research, and (c) in students with high and medium mathematical ability have been running fluently and requires longer time than in students with low mathematical ability, but in students with low mathematical ability have not running fluently yet.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan percakapan representasi matematis siswa pada pembelajaran dengan metode Socrates dalam pendekatan saintifik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 1 Natar tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Data penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif tentang deskripsi percakapan representasi matematis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa percakapan representasi matematis yang muncul: (a) sebagian besar diawali dengan pertanyaan Socrates yang diajukan oleh guru dengan tipe pertanyaan: klarifikasi, asumsi-asumsi dan bukti penyelidikan, serta alasan-alasan dan bukti penyelidikan, (b) memunculkan indikator kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang ditetapkan dalam penelitian, dan (c) pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan matematis tinggi dan sedang berjalan dengan lancar dan membutuhkan waktu yang lebih lama daripada kelompok siswa berkemampuan matematis rendah, namun pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan matematis rendah percakapan belum berjalan lancar.Kata kunci: pendekatan saintifik, percakapan representasi matematis, Socrates

Abstract

This research aimed to know the development of the concept understanding ability of learners in learning which was facilitated by student activity sheets (LKPD) with guided inquiry. This research was qualitative deskriptive study. The subjects of this study were the students of class VII.2 SMP IT Baitun Nur Punggur in Academic Year 2017/2018. Research data were obtained through observation of LKPD workmanship and test of concept understanding ability. The results showed that understanding of learners' concept from every meeting which was facilitated by LKPD with guided inquiry Experienced had a positive development. In addition, the achievement of the concept comprehension test resultshowed the maximum result with an average of 80,18%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan kemampuan pemahaman konsep peserta didik dalam pembelajaran yang difasilitasi Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik (LKPD) dengan inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII.2 SMP IT Baitun Nur Punggur Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pengamatan hasil pengerjaan LKPD dan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep peserta didik dari setiap pertemuan yang difasilitasi LKPD dengan inkuiri terbimbing mengalami perkembangan yang positif. Selain itu, pencapaian hasil tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep menunjukkan hasil yang maksimal dengan rata-rata 80,18%.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, lkpd, pemahaman konsep.
