Abstract

The use of peel banana fermentation rumen fluid was aimed to increase bone calcium and to determine the strength of broiler’s bone. This study used one hundred and twenty broilers aged 14 days with average body weight 475+ 0.98 g. The research was experimental research that used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Each replication used 5 birds. The treatments were ration without peel banana fermentation rumen fluid (T0), ration with 5% of peel banana fermentation rumen fluid (T1), ration with 10% of peel banana fermentation rumen fluid (T2) and ration with 15% of peel banana fermentation rumen fluid (T3). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) specifically with F-test and continued by Duncan multiple range test if it were found differences among the treatments. The result showed that 10% of peel banana fermentation rumen fluid in the diet significantly decrease femur strength (P<0.5). This study concluded that 10% of peel banana fermentation utilization in the diet was good for broilers at the starter period.   Keywords: Broiler, peel banana fermentation, bone

Abstract

The aim of  research is to produce low fat and cholesterol in broiler meat with given lime juice (APJN) and citric acid (AS) as acidifier in step down protein feeding system, without interfering function of digestive tract of broiler. The material used were 192 birds DOC (day old chick) Hubbard strain MB 202 "unsex" . Research using CRD (completely randomized design) with 6 treatments and 4 replications, and there are 24 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 8 chick broiler. Treatments were P0 (control diet (without step down)), P1 (step down diet), P2 (step down + citric acid 0.8%), P3 (step down + lime acid 0.4 % (6.9 ml/100g feed)) P4, (step down + lime  acid 0.8% (13.8 ml/100g feed)) and P5 (step down + lime acid 1.2% ( 20.7 ml/100g feed)). Parameters measured in this research were fat and cholesterol in broiler meats. The data were subjected to analysis by software SPSS 16, to determine the effect of treatment. If the treatment was significant it continued to Duncan test . The results showed that  step down protein feeding system  with given lime juice as acidifier were significant effect (P <0.05) to decrease cholesterol meat (mg/g) with an average (0.99, 0.89, 1.11, 1.02, 1.03 and 0.81), but no effect (P> 0.05) to decrease fat meat (%) with a mean (5.53, 6.30, 6.13, 6.15, 7.38 and 4.8) .

Abstract

Penelitian dengan penggunaan kulit pisang fermentasi cairan rumen bertujuan meningkatkan kalsium tulang dan melihat pengaruhnya terhadap morfologi tulang ayam broiler. Penelitian menggunakan 120 ekor ayam broiler umur 14 hari dengan rata-rata bobot badan 475 ± 0,98 g/ekor. Analisis menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang dibagi dalam 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, masing-masing ulangan menggunakan 5 ekor ayam. Perlakuan sebagai berikut: T0 = Ransum perlakuan tanpa kulit pisang fermentasi cairan rumen, T1 = Ransum mengandung 5% Kulit pisang fermentasi cairan rumen, T2 = Ransum mengandung 10% Kulit pisang fermentasi cairan rumen, T3 = Ransum mengandung 15% Kulit pisang fermentasi cairan rumen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan prosedur analisis ragam (Analysis of Variance / ANOVA) dengan uji F dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan melalui program SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan kulit pisang fermentasi cairan rumen pada level 10% dalam ransum memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan panjang tulang femur (P<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah, penambahan kulit pisang fermentasi baik digunakan pada taraf 10% pada periode starter dalam memaksimalkan pertumbuhan panjang tulang ayam broiler

Abstract

This research aims to assess the effect of using agricultural waste carrot root of the digestibility of protein in the ration of broiler chickens. The material used is broiler strain Lohmann age of 7 days with a body weight of 181.40 ± 11.31 grams of 144 birds. Material feed used consisting of yellow corn, rice bran, Meat Bone Meal, Poultry Meat Meal, soybean meal, mineral mix and flour carrots. Carrot flour used in the diet for 4 weeks. The tools used for data retrieval protein digestibility is a tray container excreta, hand sprayer, scales and laboratory equipment analysis of dietary protein and excreta. The research used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications, each unit consisting of six broiler chickens. Treatment applied is T0 (without flour carrots), T1 (diet with 2% flour carrots), T2 (diet with 4% flour carrots) and T3 (diet with 6% flour carrots). The measured parameters which include feed consumption, the consumption of protein, and protein digestibility. The data were processed using analysis of variance. The results showed that the use of agricultural waste flour carrot root no significant effect (P> 0.05) on feed consumption, the consumption of protein, and the protein digestibility of broiler chickens. The use of carrot flour is still low due to beta-carotene as provitamin A activity 1/6 of vitamin A. Keywords: broiler chicken, carrot flour, consumption of protein, digestible protein.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menghasilkan daging ayam broiler yang rendah lemak dan kolesterol dengan pemanfaatan air perasan jeruk nipis (APJN) maupun asam sitrat (AS) sebagai acidifier dalam pakan step down protein tanpa mengganggu fungsi saluran pencernaan ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah DOC (day old chick) strain Hubbard MB 202 “unsex” sebanyak 192 ekor. Pola penelitian menggunakan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, sehingga terdapat 24 unit percobaan yang. Masing-masing unit percobaan  terdiri dari 8  ekor  ayam  broiler.  Perlakuan  terdiri  dari   P0:  Pakan  Kontrol  (tanpa  step  down), P1: Pakan Step down, P­2: Pakan Step down + AS 0,8 %, P3: Pakan Step down+ APJN 0.4% (6,9 ml/100g pakan), P4:Pakan Step down+APJN 0.8% (13,8 ml/100g pakan) dan P5:Pakan Step down + APJN 1,2% (20,7 ml/100g pakan). Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar kolesterol dan lemak daging. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan analisis ragam, menggunakan bantuan software SPSS versi 16. Apabila perlakuan berpengaruh  nyata dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan step down protein dengan penambahan air perasan jeruk nipis sebagai acidifier berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap penurunan kolesterol daging (mg/g) dengan rataan (0,99, 0,89, 1,11, 1,02, 1,03 dan 0,81), tetapi  tidak  berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap penurunan lemak daging (%) dengan rataan (5,53, 6,30, 6,13, 6,15, 7,38 dan 4,8) pada ayam broiler.                                                                                         Kata kunci: Ayam Broiler, Lemak Daging, Kolesterol Daging, Step down Protein, Jeruk Nipis.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan serbuk mahkota dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa) sebagai alternatif pengganti tetrasiklin dalam ransum terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan hematokrit pada ayam broiler.  Materi yang digunakan adalah 100 ekor ayam broiler “unsex” umur 14 hari. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Acak Lengkap 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan untuk tiap perlakuan. Setiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam broiler sebagai unit percobaan. Perlakuan terdiri dari T0 = ransum basal, T1 = T0 + tetrasiklin 50 ppm, T2 = T0 + serbuk mahkota dewa 500 ppm, T3 = T0 + serbuk mahkota dewa 750 ppm dan T4 = T0 + serbuk mahkota dewa 1000 ppm. Parameter yang diamati adalah pertambahan bobot badan, kadar hemoglobin dan hematokrit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P&gt;0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan. Kadar hemoglobin dan hematokrit terlihat bervariasi, namun baik kontrol, pemberian tetrasiklin dan serbuk mahkota dewa masih berada dalam kisaran normal dan menandakan proses fisiologis tubuh tidak mengalami gangguan, yang berarti status gizinya baik.  Simpulan menunjukkan bahwa dengan pemberian ransum dijatah, penggunaan serbuk mahkota dewa sebagai fitobiotik sampai level 1000 ppm memberikan pengaruh yang sama seperti tetrasiklin terhadap performans ayam broiler selama penelitian berlangsung.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) dan klorin dalam ransum ayam broiler terhadap massa kalsium dan protein daging. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, masing-masing unit ulangan 7 ekor ayam.Perlakuan yang diterapkan T0 = ransum tanpa penambahan ekstrak beluntas dan klorin, T1 = ransum dengan penambahan ekstrak daun beluntas 2%, dan air minum dengan klorin 30 ppm, T2 = ransum dengan penambahan ekstrak daun beluntas 4%, dan air minum dengan klorin 20 ppm, T3 = ransum dengan penambahan ekstrak daun beluntas 6%, dan air minum dengan klorin 10 ppm, dan T4 = ransum dengan penambahan ekstrak daun beluntas 8%, tanpa klorin.Parameter yang diamati adalah retensi kalsium, massa kalsium daging, massa protein daging, danpertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH). Ternak yang digunakan adalahDay Old Chick (DOC) broiler sebanyak 140 ekor, dengan bobot badan awal 45,58 ±2,99 g.Ransum yang digunakan satu jenis formulasi sejak periode starter sampai finisher. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) 8% setelah 5 minggu perlakuan menghasilkan protein daging sama, tetapi terjadi peningkatan pertambahan bobot badan pada ayam broiler.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ransum dengan menggunakan ekstrak daun beluntas 8% sebagai feed supplementtanpa klorin (T4)menghasilkan pertambahan bobot badan ayam broiler paling tinggi, dengan massa protein daging yang sama. Kata kunci: ayam broiler; Pluchea indica Less; retensi kalsium; massa kalsium daging; massa protein daging. ABSTRACT         The aims of the study was to determine the effect of beluntas leaf extract (Pluchea indica Less) and chlorine on muscle calcium and protein mass in broiler.The present study was assigned in a acompletely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications ,(7 birds). Dietary treatments were as follows T0 = control diet, T1 = 2 % beluntas leaf extract and 30 ppm chlorine , T2 = 4 % beluntas leaf extract and 20 ppm chlorine , T3 = 6 % leaf extract beluntas and 10 ppm , T4 = 8 % beluntas leaf extract wihtout chlorine. Parameters measured were retention of calcium ,muscle calcium mass,muscle protein mass, and daily body weight gain (DBWG).Experimental animals were 140 birds of Day Old Chick (DOC) broilers,with initial body weight of 45.58  ± 2.99 g. One formulation ration was applied for the period from starter to finisher. The results showed that beluntas leaf extract(Pluchea indica Less) at 8 % after 5 weeks of treatment resulted in the same muscle protein mass, but it increased body weight gain in broiler chickens.Based on the results, it can be concluded that the ration by using beluntas leaf extracts 8% as a feed supplement without chlorine (T4) resulted in body weight gain of broilers highest, with the same mass of meat protein.Keywords : broilers; Pluchea indica Less; retention of calcium; muscle calcium mass; muscle protein mass.

Abstract

Harga sumber protein hewani yang mahal sering menjadi kendala dalam industri pakan, khususnya unggas. Upaya untuk menekan biaya pakan broiler adalah dengan memanipulasi pakan yang disebut pakan step down, yaitu penurunan konsentrasi protein yang dikombinasikan dengan penambahan asam sitrat sebagai acidifier untuk mempertahankan penggunaan nutrien yang bermuara pada produktivitas broiler. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengkaji tentang kecernaan protein kasar dan retensi nitrogen dalam hubungannya dengan produktivitas ayam broiler yang diberi pakan single step down dengan penambahan acidifier asam sitrat. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan (@ 8 ekor ayam broiler). Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu T­0 (pakan kontrol), T1 (pakan step down), T2 (pakan step down + Asam sitrat Sintetis (AS) 0,8 %), T3 (pakan step down + air perasan jeruk nipis setara 0,4% asam sitrat), T4 (pakan step down + air perasan jeruk nipis setara dengan 0,8% asam sitrat), T5 (pakan step down + air perasan jeruk nipis setara dengan 1,2% asam sitrat). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecernaan protein kasar dan retensi nitrogen secara nyata dipengaruhi oleh perlakuan (P<0,05). Kecernaan protein kasar dan retensi nitrogen tertinggi dicapai oleh perlakuan T3 (masing-masing 79,60 dan 71,81%) dan yang terendah adalah T5 (masing-masing 72,93 dan 62,92%).

Abstract

Tumbu sugar has been known by Indonesian people as one of sweetening for foods and beverages that can be substitute of sugar. That is what a potential of tumbu sugar processing business need to be analyzed and the formulation of strategies in its development efforts. The purpose of this study were: 1) to analyze the condition of tumbu sugar processing business, covering aspects of production, financial aspects and marketing aspects; 2) formulate a viable alternative strategy applied; 3) determine the priority strategies in the development of agro-industrial processing of tumbu sugar in District Kudus. This research was descriptive quantitative survey approach. The research location is in district of Kudus covers three sub-districts (Sub-District  Dawe, Sub-District Bae, and Sub-District Gebog). Subjects in this study include the main actors of tumbi sugar producers, traders, government agencies and academia. The collection of data through observation, interviews, questionnaires and FGD (Focus Group Discussion). Data analysis using using descriptive analysis, financial analysis and marketing analysis, SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) to formulate the steps of strategy and analysis AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) for the determination of strategic priorities in the development of tumbi sugar agroindustrial, with tools Expert Choice program.The results showed that the value analysis of the financial aspects of the R/C ratio is 1.88 ; B / C ratio is 0.88 and an IRR is 36 %. Analysis of the marketing aspects of the farmer's share values ??obtained low of 75.8 % and the highest value of marketing efficiency of 17.49 % . SWOT analysis obtained tumbu sugar agro-industry position is in quadrant I. AHP analysis obtained by the alternative strategy of product development innovation and product diversification.Based on the Results of the research concluded  that the production aspects of the tumbu sugar agro-industry businesses in Kudus regency still scale households by family labor management through a process that is still simple, but remains open investment opportunities with marketing channels already running efficiently. The alternative strategy that is feasible in the tumbu  sugar agro-industry development in District Jepara is a S-O strategy that supports the aggressive growth by prioritizing the development of innovative products or product diversification.

Abstract

Ensilage   is one of alternative   methods   in  fish  preservation. However,  some problems  are remained  in the quality  of product,  while performance of ensilage product  is not favorable  to consumer.  Therefore,  study amino acid, calcium and phosphor of silage  fish meal that  is dried in different  temperature and filler was done. The aim of the experiment   is to develop physical performance   of ensilage  product  of "ikan rucah".   In this experiment,   raw fish were blended with  3 % (v/w) of formic acid-propionic    acid  mixture(!:])     and incubated  for 14 days in the aerobic  condition.  After  14  days, ensiling   product  were dried in different temperature, i.e:  45, 50 and 55 C  Crude protein,   amino acid,  calcium and phosphor are parameters   observed. Data will  be statistically    analyzed by analysis  of variance. This recearch found that no signifi cantly effect  of temperature of drying to crude protein,   calcium   and phosphor concentration of fish silage  product (p>0.05).    It could be concluded  that to improve performance of fish silage,   temperature  of drying  up to 55C could be appropriated   with  no significant   effect on nutritional contents.
