Abstract

This research has a purpose to describe the improvement of the competence inwriting scientific papers of grade XI-IA of SMA Negeri 9 Semarang by using inquiryelement. This research is a classroom action research by using Kemmis and Taggart’scycle theory. There are 2 cycles that consist of 4 steps each: planning, observing,action and reflection. The subject is the skill in writing scientific papers. The resultvariable of this research is the competence of scientific papers writing and the processvariable is the inquiry element. This research uses some test instruments, i.e. 1) thesystem of writing; 2) the ability to think logically; 3) the coherence between the titleand the content; 4) the ability to use proper Indonesian spelling; 5) the ability to writeparagraphs, sentences and words; 6) the ability to write quotations; 7) the ability towrite the bibliography ; and 8) the order of the writing. The non-test instruments arein the form of 1) observation sheet; 2) students’ journal; and 3) interview. The testdata were analyzed quantitatively using statistical formula. Categorization anddescription were used to analyze the non-test data. The result shows that the inquiryelement can be used in teaching the scientific paper writing of grade XI-IA students ofSMA Negeri 9 Semarang. The improvement of the competence can be seen in cycle Iand II. The average score of pre-cycle step was 62.11. It increased up to 69.55 in cycleI and reached 77.10 in cycle II.Kata kunci: elemen inkuiri, karya ilmiah, kompetensi menulis, penelitian tindakankelas

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan model pengembangan materiajar bahasa Indonesia untuk SMP beserta desain pembelajarannya sesuaidengan pendekatan komunikatif berbasis konteks sosiokultural siswa. Melaluimodel pengembangan materi ajar tersebut diharapkan dapat mengembangkanperilaku berbahasa siswa, baik secara reseptif maupun produkitf sesuai dengankebutuhan komunikasi siswa dalam berbagai domain sosial. Untuk mencapaitujuan tersebut, pendekatan yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalahpendekatan reseach and development (R&D). Model panduan dirumuskansecara kolaboratif antara peneliti, pakar ahli, guru, dan instansi terkait (DinasPendidikan Nasional) melalui disksusi terfokus (focus group discussion). Hasilpenelitianini adalah bahwa pengembangan materi ajar berbasis kontekssosiokultural masih belum dilakukan oleh guru bahasa Indonesia. Hal inidisebabkan alokasi waktu yang dimiliki guru sepenuhnya digunakan untukmengajar dan merancang perangkat pembelajaran. Konsep panduanpengembangan materi ajar ini disusun dalam bentuk materi ajar berbasiskonteks sosiokultural dilakukan mengikuti syarat-syarat yang meliputi: (a)acuan meliputi kurikulum, ilmu-ilmu yang relevan, kebutuhan bahasa anakatau siswa, dan hasil-hasil buku-buku pelajaran bahasa dan atau kegiatanbelajaran mengajar di kelas, (b) rancangan memperhatikan taksonomi bahanajar yang baku, yaitu buku siswa, buku kerja dan buku guru, (c) organisasi, (d)kebahasaan, (e) keterampilan berbahasa, (f) pengembangan kontekssosiokultural, dan (g) topik dan wacana. Pengembangan proses belajarmengajar (PBM) dengan pendekatan komunikatif berbasis kontekssosiokultural siswa dikembangkan dengan mempertimbangkan (1) prinsippembelajaran, (2) tujuan pembelajaran, (3) ruang lingkup, dan (4) pelaksanaanpembelajaran, dan (5) evaluasi pembelajaran.Kata kunci: materi ajar, sosiokultural, sosiolinguistik, dan pendekatankomunikatif

Abstract

Abstrak: Sikap cinta budaya merupakan salah satu nilai karakter bangsa yang hendaknya dijunjung tinggi dalam kurikulum sekolah. Untuk menanamkan karakter cinta budaya kepada peserta didik, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berbasis teks membuat guru lebih leluasa. Untuk itu, guru dituntut untuk memunyai perencanaan metode mengajar, kemampuan mengembangkan bahan ajar, dan evaluasi pembelajaran yang baik. Model penilaian adalah penilaian otentik yang berupa penilaian kinerja. Penilaian kinerja memerlukan pertimbangan khusus: (1) kinerja yang dilakukan siswa menun- jukkan kompetensi tertentu; (2) ketepatan dan kelengkapan aspek kinerja yang dinilai; (3) kemam- puan khusus yang diperlukan oleh siswa untuk menyelesaikan tugas pembelajaran; (4) indikator esensial yang akan diamati; dan (5) urutan keterampilan yang diamati. Model penilaian kinerja pem- belajaran membaca berbasis teks narasi bermuatan pendidikan karakter cinta budaya bagi siswa se- kolah menengah pertama dapat diterapkan melalui tiga tahapan utama, yakni tahap kegiatan pra- baca, tahap kegiatan membaca, dan tahap kegiatan pascabaca. Abstract

Eco-linguistic studies are influenced by one of the other interdisciplinary sciences, namely critical discourse analysis. The combination of these two sciences is called critical eco-linguistic studies. Critical eco-linguistic examines the discourse about the environment and various forms of discourse and their ideology which concerns people and the environment. The environmental discourse with all its manifestations (oral text, written text) is called green discourse. To that end, critical eco-linguistic dictates the linguistic aspects contained in the green discourse. Utilization of lingual units in green discourse will affect the sense and logic of people involved in the discourse, ie the writers and readers or the speakers and the speakers. What is recorded in their cognition, will affect their attitudes and actions to the environment. If green discourse is constructive, then their attitude and actions to the environment are constructive. Conversely, if green discourse is more destructive and exploitative, then their attitudes and actions towards the environment will also be affected towards destruction and exploitation. For this reason, critical eco-linguistic studies in green discourse deserve to be given space as a form of prospective eco-linguistic analysis.

Abstract

Abstract This research is aimed at describing pornographic associative meaning function in humor texts. The data ot this research are humor texts written in Indonesian which have pornographic association as well as their contexts. Those data are obtained from humor texts. The texts are selected in a random way by taking into account the following considerations: (1) those texts are in the Indonesian language, (2) those texts depict the current use of language, and (3) those texts contain pornographic associative meaning. The data are collected from Humor collection. These data are gathered by taking some notes from or by recording humor texts containing pornographic associative meaning and the contexts on data cards or corpus data. Data analysis in this very research is carried out through two procedures: (1) analysis during data collection procces, and (2) analysis after data collection. Afterwards, in order to reach a precise interpretation of the result in the research, there are some steps taken: (1) discussion, (2) rechecking, and (3) consultation. Based on the data analysis discussion result, several points can be drawn as the conclusions as regard to the pornographic association functions in humor texts including: demanding attention, entertaining, evoking curiosity, euphemism, and deceiving readers.

Abstract

Politeness strategies in primary school is the foundation of character building. This study aims to identify the power and orientation of positive politeness strategies used by the children at the age of elementary school as the character of Indonesian. This study applies qualitative research with single-case study strategy. The data source consists of all elementary school teachers and students in Surakarta and Yogyakarta. The data were collected by using active observation and focus group discussion.  The data are in the forms of  teaching materials. The data were analyzed using heuristic model proposed by Grice & Leech by applying the principles of reconciliation, cultural and social harmony. The result shows that the elementary school teachers and students having the Javanese cultural background indicated by (a) building the nature of psychological as the core of positive politeness and nation character by improving the empathy feeling, looking for the agreement, giving respect,  appreciating the achievement, and giving the profit to another; (b) prioritizing the duty instead of the rights; (c) creating the wise of directive act strategyby positioning the listener ; (d) respecting others to show the suavity and politeness. Therefore, the Javanese society in line with directive politeness action always put the environment society to keep its social-societal relationship. Keywords: directive politeness, harmony principle, javanese cultural,positive politeness, socio-societal AbstrakStrategi kesantunan di sekolah dasar adalah fondasi pembentukan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kekuatan dan orientasi strategi kesantunan positif anak-anak di usia sekolah dasar sebagai karakter bangsa Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus tunggal. Sumber data terdiri dari semua guru sekolah dasar dan anak-anak usia SD di Surakarta dan Yogyakarta. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi aktif dan diskusi kelompok fokus. Data tersebut berupa bahan ajar. Data dianalisis menggunakan model heuristik yang diajukan oleh Grice & Leech dengan menerapkan prinsip rekonsiliasi, budaya dan keharmonisan sosial. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar dan anak-anak usia SD yang memiliki latar belakang budaya Jawa ditunjukkan dengan (a) membangun sifat psikologis sebagai inti dari kesantunan positif dan karakter bangsa dengan meningkatkan perasaan empati, mencari kesepakatan, memberikan rasa hormat, menghargai pencapaian, dan memberikan keuntungan kepada yang lain; (b) memprioritaskan tugas dan bukan hak; (c) menciptakan strategi tindakan yang efektif dengan memposisikan pendengar; (D) menghormati orang lain untuk menunjukkan kesantunan. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat Jawa sejalan dengan tindakan kesopanan direktif selalu menempatkan masyarakat lingkungan untuk menjaga hubungan sosial-kemasyarakatannya.Kata Kunci: kesantunan direktif, prinsip harmoni, budaya jawa, kesantunan positif, sosio-sosietal.

Abstract

Semarang State University became University of Conservation on 12 March 2012. This influences the policy-making as well as efforts in socializing and empowering the entire campus community in creating and cementing this conservation vision. There are some mottoes that are used to uphold the principle of protection, preservation, utilization and sustainable development of natural resources and cultural arts, in order to preserve the environment of this conservation campus, for example, " Salam Konservasi " which means go conservation, "Thousand tree-planting movement,” " Pasar Krempyeng Nyeni” which promote the Arts of Krempyeng Market, "On Campus: Let’s Walk or Cycle!", "Planting Trees, Planting Hope", "Motorcycle Free ". Student participation in developing the University of Conservation is one of the keys to successfully implement UNNES vision. In terms of quantity, the students occupy the largest portion compared to faculties and staffs. Reciprocal changes occurred between the environment and the languages were learned through ecolinguistics study. Ecolinguistic study examines the ecosystem as a part of the human life system (ecology) and the language used by humans to communicate in their environment (linguistics). This means the students’ attitudes towards the conservation mottoes in campus will influence personal behaviours and communities of college students in preserving the environments. Keywords: ecolinguistics, conservation, student attitudes, mottoes of environmental conservation. Universitas Negeri Semarang menjadi Universitas Konservasi pada 12 Maret 2012. Hal ini berimplikasi adanya kebijakan dan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mensosialisasikan, memahamkan, serta menggerakkan seluruh warga kampus dalam mewujudkan dan mengokohkan visi konservasi ini. Artinya, ada ungkapan-ungkapan yang digunakan untuk selalu menjunjung tinggi prinsip perlindungan, pengawetan, pemanfaatan, dan pengembangan secara lestari terhadap sumber daya alam dan seni budaya, dalam pelestarian lingkungan di kampus konservasi ini. Misalnya, “Salam Konservasi”, “Gerakan Tanam Seribu Batang pohon”, “Pasar Krempyeng Nyeni”, “Di Kampus: Jalan Kaki atau Bersepeda, Yuk!”,  “Menanam Pohon, Menanam Harapan”, “Bebas Sepeda Motor”. Partisipasi mahasiswa dalam pengembangan Universitas Konservasi merupakan salah satu kunci keberhasilan penerapan visi Unnes. Hal ini disebabkan ditinjau dari segi kuantitas, mahasiswa menempati porsi paling banyak dibandingkan dengan dosen dan tenaga kependidikan. Perubahan timbal balik antara lingkungan dan bahasa dipelajari melalui kajian ekolinguistik. Kajian ekolinguistik mengkaji ekosistem yang merupakan bagian dari sistem kehidupan manusia (ekologi) dengan bahasa yang dipakai manusia dalam berkomunikasi dalam lingkungannya (linguistik). Artinya, sikap mahasiswa terhadap ungkapan-ungkapan pelestarian lingkungan di kampus konservasi akan mempengaruhi perilaku pribadi maupun komunitas mahasiswa dalam berkonservasi.Kata kunci: ekolinguistik, konservasi, sikap mahasiswa, ungkapan pelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

This study describes the techniques of creating pornographic association in Indonesian humorous texts. The data were Indonesian humorous texts which have pornographic association and their contexts. The texts were selected randomly based on these considerations: (1) the texts are Indonesian ones, (2) the texts represent the use of Indonesian language at present, and (3) the texts contain pornographic association. The data analysis was done through two procedures. They are: (1) the analysis during the process of collecting the data, and (2) the analysis after collecting the data. Then, in order to get the appropriate interpretation, these steps were followed by: (1) discussion, (2) repeated checking, and (3) consultation. Based on the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that the techniques of creating pornographic association in Indonesian humorous texts involve: (1) double meaning technique, (2) metaphor technique, (3) guessing technique, and (4) eufemism technique.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Mendeskripsi karakteristik media pembelajaran berupa kamus bergambar berwawasan cinta Indonesia berbasis aplikasi android bagi mahasiswa BIPA, (2) merumuskan prinsip-prinsip pengembangan media pembelajaran berupa kamus bergambar berwawasan cinta Indonesia berbasis aplikasi android bagi mahasiswa BIPA, dan (3) menyusun desain atau prototipe kamus bergambar berwawasan cinta Indonesia berbasis aplikasi android bagi mahasiswa BIPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan research and development (R&D) yang dilakukan dengan lima tahap. Sebagai sebuah produk pengembangan, produk media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berpotensi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan peserta didik dan dosen terhadap kamus bergambar berwawasan cinta Indonesia berbasis aplikasi android bagi mahasiswa BIPA.The purpose are (1) to find out the characteristics of learning media in the form of a pictorial dictionary of love Indonesia-android based application for BIPA learners. (2) formulating development principle of the media development in the form of pictorial dictionary of love Indonesia-android based Application for BIPA learners. And (3) the BIPA learners think about the design or the prototype of pictorial dictionary of love Indonesia-android based Application. This research is using the research and development approach (R&D) which will be done in five steps. As the development product, the developed enrichment media product potentially to fulfill students and teacher needs pictorial dictionary development of love Indonesia-based application for android as BIPA students learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the knowledge and attitudes of students to expose conservation on campus. This implies there are phrases that are used to always uphold the principle of the protection, preservation, utilization and sustainable development of natural resources and cultural arts, the preservation of the environment on campus conservation. Alteration between environmental changes and the language learned through ekolinguistik study. Based on student attitudes toward environmental conservation can be identified expression of the most popular expressions are: “Embung, Di Kampus: Jalan Kaki atau Bersepeda, Yuk!, Salam Konservasi, Bebas Sepeda Motor, Flora, Fauna, Sampah Organik, Sampah Anorganik, Menanam Pohon, Menanam Harapan, Konservasi Budaya, serta Ramah Lingkungan”. In addition, this research was also identified most not popular expressions that are: Birdfeeder, Peta Tutupan Lahan, Birdwatching, Sarasehan Selasa Legen, Buletin Pelangi Konservasi, Etalase Konservasi, Kicau Konservasi, Majalah Konservasi, Green Corridor, serta Bangunan Hemat Energi. Attitudes and knowledge of students in the development of the University of Creation is one of the keys to success vision application of Unnes. This implies that student attitudes toward environmental conservation on campus will affect the behavior of students in private or community conservation.
