Abstract

here was an urgent need to accelerate the project duration in project MYC WIL.I-2C, however, inconsistent policy towards the predefined specification was taken by using 10% Buton Natural Asphalt Rubber (BNA-R), whereas the specification should be 20% BNA-R. The objective of this research is to compare the strength performance between BNA-R 1 10% and BNA-R 1 20%, compared to BNA-R1 0% (pen.60/70). The lab analysis was done in Jalan Raya Laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. The method that were used are Marshall method and durability at optimum asphalt content by using wet method. The results showed that stability value of BNA-R without substitutes was 1164 kg, BNA-R 10% was 1440 kg, and the highest was found in BNA-R 20% i.e. 1462 kg.  Durability value without substitutes was 105.17%, whereas, durability of BNA CR 1 10% was 101.14% and BNA CR 1 20% was 100.81%.  All Marshall parameters in BNA-R with and without substitutes, including stability, flow, MQ, density, VIM, VMA and VFA were still fulfill the specification set by the Directorate General of Highways (Bina Marga) rev 3 in  2014 and interim 3 rev 2 in 2015.

Abstract

The increase in population has impacted on various existing resources particularly in transportation sectors. Motorized transport is one of the noise sources that could cause health problems and further interfere comfort to human. In this case, the noise level needs to be controlled based on the established quality standards as mandated by Ministry of Environment on Decree Number KEP-48 / MENLH / 11/1996 regarding Noise Level Standards. Most of the segments on Manek Roo Road, Sisingamangaraja Road and Gajah Mada Road located in Meulaboh, West Aceh District are roads located in government or private office, education and health buildings. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the noise level due to transportation activities. The study was conducted in the part of the Road and evaluated the buildings in part of Manek Roo Road, Sisingamangaraja Road and Gajah Mada Road located in Meulaboh, such as schools and hospitals to noise level concerning the standard of KEP-48 / MENLH / 11/1996. Data collection conducted in this research consist of primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained directly from the observation such as traffic volume and noise level data while the secondary data obtained from the relevant agencies, and used to support the analysis. The result from the analysis reveals that the noise level due to transportation activities on the part of Road: Manek Roo, Sisingamangaraja, and Gajah Mada in Meulaboh West Aceh at 18 points of measurement is still above the quality standard (> 55 dBA). This noise level may disrupt the activities of schools, hospitals, etc. located along the road so that there is a need for such efforts so that the noise level received can be reduced and meet the specified quality standards.

Abstract

The analysis of Waste Transportion Performance in Zone III of Banda Aceh managed to evaluate the waste transport system related to the pattern of waste collection and transportation, the frequency of transportation and the number of waste transport vehicles in zone III, so optimization can be done. Primary data is obtained by observing the process of transporting waste directly in the field and interviewing the parties that involved. Observations were made on each vehicle that carrying waste twice a day (morning and afternoon/night). The vehicles that will be observed consists of 11 dumptrucks, 1 compactor truck, 2 armrolltruck, so the number of observations is 14 days. The application of the pattern of waste collection with the door to door system in some zone III does not match the standards set. The amount of trip for dumptruck can be increased to 3 trips/day, 4 trip/day for compactors truck and 11 trips/day for armroll trucks. Better waste disposal can save dumptruck transportation time 2.18 hours/day or 27.26% and increase ritation to 3 trips/day. The addition of transport trips increases the potential amount of waste transportation up to 59.17% from 48.10 tons/day to 76.56 tons/day. The needs for waste transportation based on the calculation results can be optimized to 10 units, while currently used is 14 units. Inadequate of work equipment, there is no special training for workers and a lack of public awareness in properly disposing waste can be a barrier in waste transportation services.
