Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan soal matematika model PISA untuk siswa SMP menggunakan konteks Jambi yang valid, praktis, dan memiliki efek potensial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Design research tipe development study. Analisis data adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian berupa seperangkat soal matematika model PISA menggunakan konteks Jambi yang valid, praktis dan memlilki efek potensial sebanyak 14 butir soal. Valid dari segi konten, konstruk, dan bahasa berdasarkan penilaian validator, praktis berdasarkan uji coba small group dan memiliki efek potensial berdasarkan analisis hasil jawaban siswa dan angket pada field test. Bedasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa soal yang dikembangkan memiliki beberapa efek potensial, yaitu memunculkan pelibatan kemampuan dasar matematis yang beragam pada proses penyelesaiannya. Selain itu, juga mampu menarik minat dan memotivasi siswa sehingga tertantang menyelesaikan soal. Soal-soal ini juga memberikan stimulus kepada siswa untuk berpikir kritis menggunakan penalaran sendiri dalam penyelesaiannya.Kata kunci: research and development, development study, PISA, Konteks Jambi DEVELOPING MATHEMATIC QUESTIONS OF PISA MODEL BY USING JAMVI CONTEXT AbstractThe aim of this research was to provide valid, practical mathematic questions of PISA model for SMP students by using Jambi contex, and have potential effect. The method of the research was developmental research design . Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. The result of the research was a set of valid, practical 14 mathematic questions of PISA model in Jambi contex, and having potential effect. The validity of content, construct, and language was based on expert judgment, the practicality was measured in small group, and the potential effect was based on analysis of student answers and questionnaires in field test. The result of analysis showed that the developed questions had several potential effects such as inviting students’ various basic skills of mathematic in the process of answering the questions. Besides that, it could encourage students’ ability and motivate students to answer and finish the questions. These questions also attract the students to use their critical thinking ability to answer the questions.Keywords: research and development, development study, PISA, Jambi context

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan multimedia pada pokok bahasan program linear yang menggunakan metode simpleks yang valid, praktis, dan memiliki efek terhadap minat dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Multimedia didesain menggunakan microsoft power point. Penelitian ini menggunakan meto-de penelitian pengembangan (development research). Tahap pengembangan terbagi dua yaitu tahap preli-minary yang meliputi analisis dan pendesainan, formative evaluation yang terdiri dari self evaluation, expert review, one to one, small group, dan field test. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah walkthrough (tahap expert review) untuk mengetahui validitas multimedia dari segi konten dan bahasa. Observasi untuk mengetahui kepraktisan multimedia (one to one, small group, field test), serta angket dan tes (tahap field test) untuk mengetahui minat dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Dari hasil analisis data penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. (1) Diperoleh multimedia yang dibuat dengan microsoft power point yang valid dan praktis. (2) Multimedia memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar dengan rata-rata nilai akhir mahasiswa 79,44 yang termasuk kategori baik dan persentase minat mahasiswa mencapai 79,62 % yang termasuk kategori tinggi.Kata kunci: pengembangan, multimedia, metode simpleks

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan lintasan belajar yang dapat membantu peserta didikmemahami Pola Bilangan dengan konteks kerajinan anyaman sekaligus memberi kesempatan siswauntuk membangun pengetahuannya sendiri menggunakan model pembelajaran Jaring Laba-laba diSMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Design Research tipe Validation Study dengan subyekpenelitian siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 3 Pemulutan, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, Sumatera Selatan. Hasilpenelitian diperoleh lintasan belajar yang dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami pola bilangan.Pembelajaran diawali  dengan pengenalan anyaman sebagai starting point, secara mandiri dan atauberinteraksi dengan sumber belajar lain seperti buku, teman sebaya, diskusi kelas dan penguatanguru, siswa menemukan pola bilangan dari keteraturan motif anyaman, melanjutkan pola secarateratur, menemukan dan melanjutkan suku berikutnya barisan bilangan, menentukan suku tertentudan suku ke-n barisan bilangan sederhana serta jumlah sampai pola tertentu. Abstract

This study aimed to produce a set of valid, practice and had potential effects of PISA-like mathematics tasks using Asian Games context to support students learning. Design research and lesson study were used as the method both during the design and implementation stages. Target users are 15th years old middle school students from PMRI pilot schools in Palembang. Results show that a set of PISA-like problems on uncertainty and data content are valid, practical, and had a potential effect. Students were doing mathematics in a collaborative, and the learning process becomes meaningful and easily.

Abstract

This study aims to generate the valid and practical PISA-like mathematics problems on uncertainty and data using the football game context of Asian Games. It also aims to see the potential effects of the problems towards the high school students? mathematical ability. This study used a design research methodology with the type of development study which was divided into two stages, namely preliminary stage and formative evaluation stage. The preliminary stage covered the analysis of research subjects, curriculum analysis, PISA framework and creating a question instrument. The formative evaluation stage included the one to one consisting of three students together with expert review consisting of two validators, small group consisting of six students, and then the field test. This study produced valid and practical PISA-like mathematics problems on uncertainty and data content which have a potential effect on the senior high school students? mathematical literacy ability. The validity was determined based on the expert review, while the practicality was determined based on one-to-one and small group assessment. The students' mathematical literacy abilities appeared during the research were communication, reasoning and argument, and devising strategies for problem-solving.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a math problem type PISA to familiarize students using problems with PISA standard and produces a valid, practical, PISA context of Bangka (Tanjung Kalian Lighthouse) type and see the basic math skills (KDM) seen from the context of Tanjung Kalian lighthouse. The research method used is design research with the type of research development or development studies. The result of the research is a valid PISA math problem at the expert review stage and one to one, while small group stages do the practicality. The ability that is found in the form of communication, representation, mathematical, reasoning, and argument, and formulates a strategy to solve the problem.

Abstract

School Literacy Movement, one of the government's efforts to optimize the ability of students in terms of literacy, needs support from every circle; one of them is from researches in the educational field. This research aims to develop reading texts in a futsal context that will be presented in students? worksheet with valid and practical criteria that will have a potential effect in mathematics learning. This research is using the design research method with a development studies type that consists of three main steps, such as preliminary, prototyping, and assessment with an evaluation plot formative study that used in a prototyping step, including the self-evaluation, expert review and one-to-one, small group, and field test. The research subjects are the students in 7th grade in one of Junior High School in Karawang. There are some steps taken in the data collection process, such as documentation, walkthrough, questionnaire, test, and interview. According to the data analysis, it can be concluded that this research has been producing a product in the form of thirteen reading the text for School Literacy Movement invalid and practical mathematics learning that will have a potential effect for the students? learning result in the mathematics learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid and practical PISA-like mathematics problems of uncertainty and data content by using soft tennis and volleyball contexts in Asian Games. It also aims to find out the potential effect of the problems on students' mathematical literacy. The method used in this study was design research with the type of development studies. The validity was viewed from expert assessment regarding the content, constructs, language, and students? comments to the clarity of the problems in the one-to-one phase. Then, the practicality was viewed in the small group phase, and it was found that the students could understand the problem well. Based on the answers from 33 tenth-grade students of senior high school, it was found that the problems had potential effects that arouse the ability to use symbolic, formal, and technical language, as well as the ability of operation, communication, and representation. With the problem of the soft tennis context, five students could apply the ability to use symbolic, formal, and technical language, and operations, 12 students could apply representation ability, and 16 students could apply the communication ability. Meanwhile, with the problem of the volleyball context, 18 students could apply the communication ability, and nine students could apply the representation ability.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a set of PISA-like mathematics problems on uncertainty and data content using football as a context which was valid, practical and had potential effects on students? mathematical literacy ability. The method used in this study is design research with development studies type which had two stage: the preliminary and formative evaluation. Tenth-grade students of senior high schools in Palembang were involved in this research. This study produced a set of PISA-like mathematics problems at 3, 4, and 5 level. In this case, student?s strategies used some ability in solving one of the problems, namely mathematizing, representation, and communication ability. There were 16 out of 35 students using mathematizing and communication ability, 10 out of 35 students using representation and communication ability, and 9 out of 35 students only using communication ability. Also, the results of the interview with some students showed that they liked to do such PISA-like mathematics problems because they could improve their literacy ability in solving the PISA-like problem.

Abstract

Previous studies have provided that when learning shapes for the first time, young children tend to use the prototype as the reference point for comparisons, but often fail when doing so since they do not yet think about the defining attributes or the geometric properties of the shapes. Most of the time, elementary students learn geometric properties of shapes only as empty verbal statements to be memorized, without any chance to experience the contepts meaningfully. In the light of it, a sequence of instructional activities along with computer manipulative was designed to support Indonesian third graders in constructing geometric properties of square, rectangle, and triangle. The aim of the present study is to develop a loval instructional theory to support third graders in constructing geometric properties of rectangle, square, and triangle. Thirty seven students of one third grade classes in SD Pupuk Sriwijaya Palembang, along with their class teacher, were involved in the study. Our findings suggest that the combination of computer and non-computer activities suppots third graders in constructing geometric properties of square, rectangle, and triangle in that it provides opportunities to the students to experience and to develop the concepts meaningfully while using their real experiences as the bases to attain a higher geometric thinking level.Key concepts: Geometric properties, rectangle, square, triangle, design research, realistic mathematics education
