Abstract

AbstrakInformasi mengenai suku Euphorbiaceae di Pulau Jawa telah direkam dalam buku Flora of Java Volume 1 oleh C.A. Backer and R.C. Bakhuizen van den Brink Jr. Meskipun demikian, informasi terkini mengenai Euphorbiaceae di Jawa belum tersedia sejak buku tersebut terbit. Beberapa jenis tambahan telah ditemukan dari Jawa dan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melaporkan informasi tambahan mengenai Euphorbiaceae yang ada di Jawa. penelitian telah dilakukan di Banten, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, dan Yogyakarta pada bulan Maret hingga September 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya suatu marga tambahan di Jawa, yaitu Cnidoscolus Pohl. Marga tersebut hanya terdiri dari satu jenis saja di Jawa, yaitu C. aconitifolius (Mill.) I.M. Johnst. Secara taksonomi, jenis ini dibagi menjadi 2 anak jenis, yakni C. aconitifolius subsp. aconitifolius and C. aconitifolius subsp. polyanthus (Pax & K.Hoffm.) Breckon. Berdasarkan bentuk bunga betinanya, spesimen dari Jawa telah diidentifikasi sebagai C. aconitifolius subsp. aconitifolius. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Meksiko dan Mesoamerika dan telah umum dibudidayakan sebagai tanaman sayur di Jawa. Di kawasan Malesia, C. aconitifolius telah dibudidayakan sebelumnya di Brunei, Singapura, dan Filipina. Oleh karena itu, keberadaannya di Jawa ditetapkan sebagai sebuah rekaman distribusi baru untuk kawasan Malesia.Abstract The information on Euphorbiaceae in Java island has been recorded in the Flora of Java Volume 1 by C.A. Backer and R.C. Bakhuizen van den Brink Jr. However, the latest information on Euphorbiaceae of Java has not been provided since the book was published. Several additional species have been found from Java and this study aims to report additional information on Euphorbiaceae of Java. The study was carried out in Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta from March to September 2019. The result of this study shows that there is one additional genus in Java, namely Cnidoscolus Pohl. The genus only consists of 1 species in Java, namely C. aconitifolius (Mill.) I.M. Johnst. Taxonomically, the species was divided into 2 subspecies, i.e. C. aconitifolius subsp. aconitifolius and C. aconitifolius subsp. polyanthus (Pax & K.Hoffm.) Breckon. Based on the pistillate flowers shape, the specimens from Java was identified as C. aconitifolius subsp. aconitifolius. The plant is native to Mexico and Mesoamerica and it was commonly cultivated in Java as vegetable crops. In Malesia, C. aconitifolius was previously cultivated in Brunei, Singapore, and The Philippines. Thus, its presence in Java was considered as a newly distributional record for Malesia region.

Abstract

Plumeria Tourn. ex L. merupakan tumbuhan eksotik yang berasal dari kawasan Amerika Tropis. Marga tersebut telah banyak diintroduksi dan ditanam sebagai tanaman hias karena memiliki ciri morfologi yang menarik. Sebanyak tiga jenis Plumeria telah diketahui tumbuh di Pulau Jawa, yaitu P. alba L., P. obtusa L., dan P. rubra L. Akan tetapi, jenis-jenis Apocynaceae budi daya belum tercatat secara lengkap dalam Flora Malesiana. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melaporkan keberadaan jenis Plumeria lainnya yang ada di Jawa. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode jelajah di Jawa Barat (Bandung, Bogor, Pangandaran, Sumedang) dan Jawa Timur (Situbondo) pada bulan Maret hingga Agustus 2019. Penelitian ini mengungkap suatu jenis tambahan dari marga Plumeria, yakni P. pudica Jacq. Informasi mengenai keberadaan dan ciri morfologi P. pudica dilaporkan dalam catatan ini beserta kunci identifikasi terkini untuk marga Plumeria di Jawa.

Abstract

Anthocyanin is a natural pigment that express orange, red, blue, and purple color. It can be accumulated in leaves, thorn, tuber, fruit, flower, and seed. Hortensia (Hydrangea macrophylla) which is well-known as ‘Panca Warna’, is a kind of plant that easy to thrive in different climates, can express different sepal colour as the effect of environmental factor such as soil pH. The aim of this study is to determine the level of anthocyanin pigment in three different sepal colour of Hortensia. This research is a descriptive quantitative which used randomized block design with nine replications. The object of this research is three different sepal colour of Hydrangea which obtained from Flower Gardens in Sidomulyo florist. Data obtained through the differential pH spectroscopy method and was analyzed using one way ANOVA. The result reveals that there is no significant differences of anthocyanin level among the samples.Keywords: anthocyanin pigment, sepal colour, Hortensia (Hydrangea macrophylla)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the toxic effect of metanil yellow in pregnant mice during fetal organogenesis development. Twenty five pregnant mice at 2,5 months age were gavaged during 7th-16th day of gestation in five doses treatment groups per day at: 1) 0 mg per 20 g body weight, 2) 0,435 mg per 20 g body weight, 3) 0,87 mg per 20 g body weight, 4) 1,305 mg per 20 g body weight, and 5) 1,74 mg per 20 g body weight. Everyday, the weight of female mice were measured and on the 18th day, fetuses were taken by caesarean section to observe the fetal development. The observation was about maternal’s reproductive performance, body weight and liver, kidney, and spleen morphology. Data was analysed descriptively. The result reveals that all doses affect the maternal’s body weight, caused liver, kidney and spleen inflammation and also caused fetal abortion.Keywords: fetal organogenesis development, metanil yellow, pregnant mice Balb/C, toxic effect

In 2015 L. montevidensis (Spreng.) Briq. was found and collected from Dramaga, Bogor. Floribunda 6(2): 64–71. —  Suatu jenis Costus introduksi dari Afrika, yaitu Costus afer Ker Gawl., telah ditemukan tumbuh ternaturalisasi di Maribaya (Lembang), Dago Atas (Bandung), dan Kampus IPB Dramaga, Bogor. Keberadaan populasi liar C. afer di Pulau Jawa belum pernah dilaporkan sebelumnya. Jenis tersebut juga belum terdaftar dalam Flora of Java. Secara morfologi, C. afer sering salah teridentifikasi sebagai C. lucanusianus J. Braun & K. Schum. Informasi mengenai populasi liar dan ciri morfologi C. afer dilaporkan dalam catatan ini.

Abstract

Abstrak Solanum merupakan salah satu marga terbesar pada kelompok tumbuhan Angiospermae. Marga tersebut terdiri dari 1400 jenis yang terdistribusi di kawasan tropis dan subtropis. Banyak anggotanya yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi, sehingga telah dibudidayakan secara luas sebagai tanaman pangan, sayuran, tumbuhan obat, dan tanaman hias. Oleh sebab itu, beberapa di antaranya telah diintroduksi ke Pulau Jawa sejak lama. Sebanyak 24 jenis Solanum telah tercatat dalam buku Flora of Java vol. 2. Meskipun demikian, masih memungkinkan adanya jenis-jenis lain yang belum terekam dalam buku tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai jenis tambahan yang telah ternaturalisasi di Pulau Jawa. Pengamatan dilakukan di beberapa lokasi di Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, dan Jawa Timur pada tahun 2015 hingga 2017. Solanum diphyllum telah dikoleksi dari Bogor (Darmaga), Bandung (Taman Sari dan Pasir Impun), Sumedang (Jatinangor), Wonogiri (Desa Johunut), Semarang (Desa Mesu), Trenggalek (Desa Watulimo), Situbondo (Desa Wringin Anom dan Banyuputih), Bondowoso (Desa Bandilan), dan Sumenep (Desa Pakong). Jenis ini memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai tumbuhan obat. Tumbuhan ini ditemukan tumbuh meliar di semua lokasi pengamatan dan keberadaannya perlu diperhatikan karena jenis tersebut merupakan tumbuhan asing invasif di kawasan lain.  Abstract Solanum is one of the largest genera in Angiospermae. This genus comprises about 1400 species distributed in tropic and subtropic regions. Some of them have high economic value and have been cultivated widely as crops, vegetables, medicinal plants, and ornamental plants. Therefore, several species have been introduced to Java island in the past. A total of 24 species of Solanum has been recorded in Flora of Java vol. 2. However, there is still unrecorded species occurred. The aim of this study was to provide information about an additional naturalized species in Java. The observations have been carried out in several locations in West Java, Central Java, and East Java, from 2015 to 2017. Solanum diphyllum has been collected from Bogor (Darmaga), Bandung (Taman Sari and Pasir Impun), Sumedang (Jatinangor), Wonogiri (Johunut Village), Semarang (Mesu Village), Trenggalek (Watulimo Village), Situbondo (Wringin Anom and Banyuputih Village), Bondowoso (Bandilan Village), and Pamekasan (Pakong Village). This species has a potential to be utilized as a medicinal plant. Moreover, this plant grows wildly in all of the observed locations. Abstract

Agroekosistem perkebunan tebu tidak akan pernah lepas dari kehadiran gulma sebagaimana telah dipaparkan oleh Backer dalam Atlas of 220 weeds of sugarcane fields in Java pada tahun 1973. Hingga saat ini, informasi mengenai gulma-gulma di perkebunan tebu belum terhimpun secara utuh sedangkan kehadiran gulma-gulma terkini semakin banyak dilaporkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk inventarisasi jenis-jenis gulma perkebunan tebu di lima desa yang terletak di Kecamatan Asembagus dilakukan menggunakan metode jelajah. Sebanyak 97 jenis gulma kebun tebu yang termasuk ke dalam 27 suku ditemukan di Kecamatan Asembagus. Sepuluh jenis di antaranya belum dicatat oleh Backer sebagai gulma pada kebun tebu.
