Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan terhadap nilai membaca siswa  dalam teks naratif sebelum dan setelah diajarkan melalui teknik DRTA dan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan dari nilai pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks naratif setelah diajarkan melalui teknik DRTA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan melibatkan kelas XI Lintas Minat 3. Tes pemahaman membaca diberikan untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan dari nilai membaca siswa setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik DRTA. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari pretes ke postes yaitu 65.32 naik menjadi 77.95 dan peningkatannya adalah 12.36. Selain itu uji hipotesis menunjukan t-value lebih tinggi dari t-table (15.111 > 2.080). Oleh sebab itu dapat disimpulkan ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari nilai membaca siswa setelah diajarkan melalui teknik DRTA.The aims of this research were to find out whether there was a difference of students’ reading comprehension achievement of narrative text before and after being taught through DRTA technique and to find out whether there was an increase of students’ reading comprehension achievement of narrative text after being taught through DRTA technique. Quantitative approach was conducted in class XI LM 3. Reading comprehension test was administered to collect the data. The result of the data analysis showed that there was a difference of students’ reading achievement after being taught through DRTA. It could be proven from the increase of students’ mean score from pre-test to post-test, which was 65.32 up to 77.95, and the gain was 12.36. Besides, the hypothesis test showed t-value was higher than t-table (15.111>2.080). Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant increase of students’ reading achievement after being taught through DRTA technique.Keywords: DRTA technique, increasing, reading achievement

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dalam pencapaian berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan media realia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas XI IPS3 sebagai kelas perlakuan yang terdiri dari 28 siswa. Penelitian ini menerapkan model kuantitatif. Penulis melakukan pretest sekali, tiga kali perlakuan, dan sekali posttest. Paired sample t-test digunakan untuk menganalisis data dan uji hipotesa dihitung dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 16.00 pada tingkat signifikan p<0.05. Nilai rata-rata meningkat yakni dari 40.07 menjadi 66.71. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa tes dua ekor p=0.000 dan tingkat signifikan adalah jika p<0.05 sehingga hal itu menandakan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa setelah mereka diajarkan dengan menggunakan realia.This study aimed to know whether there was any significant effect on students’ speaking achievement after being taught by using realia. The research was conducted at XI IPS3 as experimental class that consisted of 28 students. This research applied quantitative design. The writer administered one time of pretest, three times of treatments, and one time of posttest. Paired sample t-test was used to analyze the data and the hypothesis testing was computed using SPSS version 16.00 at the significant level of p<0.05.  The mean score increased from 40.07 up to 66.71. The result of hypothesis testing showed that the significant 2 tailed is p=0.000 and the level of significant is if p<0.05. It means there was a significant improvement of students’ speaking achievement after they are taught by using realia.Keywords: achievement, effect, realia, speaking, teaching

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis strategi pembelajaran bahasa yang digunakan siswa dalam pemahaman membaca dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan strategi pembelajaran bahasa terhadap pemahaman membaca. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 30 siswa di kelas X.9 di SMAN 14 Bandar Lampung. Peneliti memberikan kuesioner strategi pembelajaran bahasa dan tes pemahaman membaca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 15 siswa yang menggunakan strategi kognitif, sementara ada 9 siswa yang menggunakan strategi metakognitif dan strategi sosial yang 6 siswa. Kemudian, hasil dari One-Way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa F untuk strategi kognitif adalah 37,18 dengan p = 0,000, F untuk strategi metakognitif adalah 15,75 dengan p = 0,000, dan F untuk strategi sosial adalah 5.97 dengan p = .001. Hasil tersebut berarti bahwa H1 diterima, sehingga strategi kognitif, metakognitif, dan sosial secara statistik signifikan untuk pemahaman membaca.   The aims of this research were to find out the type of language learning strategy that was used by students in reading comprehension and to find out the influence of using language learning strategies toward reading comprehension. This research was conducted to 30 students in class X.9 at SMAN 14 Bandar Lampung. Questionnaire of language learning strategies and reading comprehension test were given as the instruments. The results showed that there were 15 students who used cognitive strategy, while there were 9 students who used metacognitive strategy and social strategy were 6 students. Then, the result of One-Way ANOVA showed that F for cognitive strategy was 37.18 with p= .000, F for metacognitive strategy was 15.75 with p= .000, and F for social strategy was 5.97 with p= .001. The results mean that H1 was accepted, so that the cognitive, metacognitive, and social strategies were statistically significant to reading comprehension. Keywords: language learning strategies, influence, reading comprehension

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan kemampuan berbicara setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik role play. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan di kelas X MIA 3 yang berjumlah 36 orang. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes berbicara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara setelah diajarkan dengan menggunakan teknik role play. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari pretes ke postes yaitu 59.1 ke 67.8, uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-value 8.621 lebih besar dari t-table 2.0301. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik role play dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara. The aim of this research was to find out whether there was a significant improvement of the students’ speaking ability after they were taught by using role play. This research used quantitative approach and it was conducted to 36 students in class X MIA 3. The data of the research were collected by using speaking test. The result showed that there was a significant improvement in students’ speaking ability after they were taught by using role play. It could be proven from the improvement of students’ mean score from pretest to posttest, which was 59.1 to 67.8, hypothesis test showed that t-table is 2.0301 and the t- value is 8.621. Abstract

This content analysis that belongs to qualitative research aims at finding indebth understanding about turn-taking  produced by S1 students of FKIP- Lampung University during group work discussion. The data were students utterances during group work discussion. All the data were recorded, transcribed, and were analyzed based on the context in order to find out the students’ turn-taking. The result shows that students made turn-taking during the group work discussion and it can be classified into two catagories, namely: 1) by choosing himself, and 2) by choosing others. The speaker chose himself by having four reasons while the speaker chose others by having three reasons. All the turn-takings are made by students in order to finish the task given by the lecturer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan pada kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks recount setelah penerapan teknik guiding question. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa tingkat pertama SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung. Test menulis digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis reks recount setelah penerapan teknik guiding question dan aspek organization adalah aspek menulis yang paling meningkat. Dapat disarankan bahwa teknik guiding question dapat membantu siswa menghasilkan ide dengan lebih mudah.This study was aimed at finding out whether there was a difference of students recount text writing ability after the implementation of guiding question technique. This research was a quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 35 students at the first year of SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung. A writing test was administered as the instrument of this research. The result showed that there was a statistically difference of the students recount text writing ability after the implementation of guiding question technique and the organization aspect of writing was the aspect that improved the most. This suggests that guiding question technique helps the students generate their ideas more easily.Keywords: writing, recount text, guiding question technique.

Abstract

Berbicara merupakan aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh manusia untuk berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Siswa-siswi diharapkan agar mampu untuk mengekspresikan, berkomunikasi, dan memberikan informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan yang signifikan yang statistic dalam kemampuan berbicara siswa setelah penerapan dari teknik retelling story menggunakan rangkaian gambar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa tingkat pertama SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung. Pre-tes dan pos-tes berbicara telah dilakukan untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang signifikan secara statistik dalam kemampuan berbicara siswa setelah penerapan teknik retelling story menggunakan rangkaian gambar dangan tingkat signifikan 0.05. Ini menunjukan bahwa teknik retelling story menggunakan rangkaian gambar dapat membantu siswa menigkatkan kemampuan berbicara mereka.Speaking is an activity conducted by people to communicate and interact with other people in appropriate and correct situations. The students are expected to be able to express, communicate, and give information. This study, therefore, was aimed at finding out whether there was a statistically significant improvement of students speaking skill after the implementation of retelling story technique by using picture series. This research was a quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 30 students of the first year of SMAN 3 Bandar Lampung. Speaking tests in the forms of the pre-test and the post-test were done to collect the data. The results showed that there was a statistically significant improvement of the students speaking skill after the implementation of retelling story technique by using picture series with the significant level 0.05. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan yang signifikan secara statistik nilai capaian pemahaman bacaan dan mencari aspek membaca mana yang paling meningkat melalui teknik Jigsaw cooperative learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan satu kelompok desain pre-test dan post-test. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 31 siswa di kelas IX D pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes membaca dalam bentuk pilihan ganda. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan paired sample t-test. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan  pencapaian pemahamaan bacaan siswa yang signifikan secara statistik dengan tingkat signifikansi 0.00 <0.05. Hasilnya juga menunjukkan bahwa pengajaran membaca menggunakan teknik Jigsaw cooperative learning membantu siswa untuk menemukan informasi spesifik dari teks dengan mudah. The aim of this study were to find out whether there is a statistically significant improvement of the students’ reading comprehension achievement and to know which aspects of reading improve the most after the students were taught through Jigsaw cooperative learning technique. This study employed one group of pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this research were 31 students in class IX D in the academic year 2017/2018. The data were collected using the reading tests in forms of multiple-choice. The data were analyzed using paired sample test. The result showed that there was a statistically significant improvement of the students’ reading comprehension achievement with the significant level 0.00<0.05. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan apakah ada hubungan antara motivasi, penguasaan kosakata, dan pemahaman membaca siswa. Desain penelitian ini kuantitatif menggunakan ex post facto designs. Peneliti menggunakan sampel penelitian sebanyak 28 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner motivasi, tes kosa kata, dan tes pemahaman membaca. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan Pearson Product Moment Correlation di SPSS 17.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai r dari motivasi and pemahaman membaca, penguasaan kosa kata dan pemahaman membaca adalah .862 dan .844. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan yang berarti antara motivasi, penguasaan kosa kata dan pemahaman membaca siswa. Semakin tinggi motivasi dan penguasaan kosa kata, maka semakin tinggi pemahaman membaca siswa.The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a significant correlation between students motivation and vocabulary mastery toward their reading comprehension or not. It is quantitative research that applied ex post facto designs. The researcher employed 28 students of SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung as sample. The instrument of this research was in the form of motivation questionnaire, vocabulary test and reading comprehension test. The collected data were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPSS 17.0. The result showed that r of students motivation and reading comprehension, and students vocabulary mastery and students reading comprehension were .862 and .844 respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between students motivation and vocabulary mastery toward their reading comprehension. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) memodifikasi model pengajaran membaca dengan KWL strategi (Know, Want to know, Learned) di perguruan tinggi, 2) menyelidiki peningkatan nilai siswa sesudah diajarkan dengan KWL strategi, 3) mengetahui aspek membaca yang paling meningkat sesudah diajar dengan menggunakan strategi KWL, 4) mengetahui apakah siswa yang mempunyai kebiasaan membaca yang baik juga memiliki kemampuan membaca yang baik pula. Penelitian ini dilakukan di STKIP Tunas Palapa Lampung Tengah. Pre-experiment based one one-group pretest- posttest design digunakan dalam penelitian ini. T-test digunakan untuk melihat perbedaan skor. Hasilnya adalah terdapat perbedaan dan peningkatan yang significant setelah diajar dengan menggunakan strategi KWL. Aspek membaca yang paling meningkat setelah di ajar dengan KWL adalah mengindentifikasi ide pokok. Siswa yang mempunyai kebiasaan membaca yang baik memiliki kemampuan membaca yang baik pula. Ini terjadi karena KWL dapat meningkatkan schemata siswa yang sangat penting untuk diisikan di kolom Know.The aims of this research were to 1) modify model of teaching reading by using KWL (Know, Want to know, Learned) strategy in college, 2) investigate the significant improvement after being taught by KWL strategy, 3) know the aspects of reading which is influenced the most and 4) find out whether students who have good reading habit have good reading ability. The research was done at STKIP Tunas Palapa Central Lampung. Pre-experiment based on one-group pretest posttest design was used in this research. T-test was used to see the improvement score. The results was there was significant improvement of students reading ability. Aspect which was influenced the most was identifying main idea. Students who had good reading habit had good reading ability as well. It happened because it could increase students schemata that was neccesary to be put in Know column.
