Abstract

Super-ovulation is conventionally performed by injection of FSH twice daily for four days. Thistreatment needs frequent attention by farm-personnel and relatively increases the possibility of failuresdue to mishandling and errors in administration of the treatment. This study was conducted to evaluatethe responses of superovulation trough a single injection of FSH into epidural space in ongole cattlecrossbreed. In Experiment 1, a combination of single dose injection of FSH was applied into epidural spaceplus intramuscular (epi+i.m group) compared to the group of intramuscular injection of FSH, which wastreated twice daily for four days (intramuscular group), using equal total dose of FSH 400 mg. Superovulationresponse of epi+im group (n=4) was not significantly different compared with intramusculargroup (n=4). In experiment 2, it compared two treatmentof FSH in different concentration(280 mg versus160 mg) in a single dose applied into epidural space. Data of Epi+im group from experiment 1 was used ascontrol. Group of 280 mg FSH (n=4) resulted total collection of ova/embryo and transferable embryos(9,00+2,65 and 3,33+2,52 respectively) was significantly different compared to the 160 mg group (n=4)(which were 2,00+1,26 and 0,00) P <0,05, although they werenot significantly different compared to thecontrol (9,33+5,68 and 3,67+3,21). In conclusion, injection of a single dose of FSH at 280 mg into epiduralspace result in a comparable transferable embryo which similar to the conventional method that appliedintramuscular injection of FSH twice daily for four days.

Abstract

Shrimp is an economic important commodity in fishery with shrimp trawl as the most effective fishing gear. One of effort to maximize the number of shrimp catch is the application of the technical factors which significantly influence the catch rate of shrimp. Method of this research was observational. The purpose of this research was to analyze the influence of fishing time (day and night), towing speed, and towing duration towards shrimp catch rate. The result of this research are night operation has greater catch rate (24.10 ± 9.60 kg/hour, the effective tow duration is 91-150 minutes (46.78 ± 22 kg/hauling) and towing speed with greater catch rate is 2.50-3.00 knot (13.18 ± 3.30 kg/hour). The results of the analysis should that factors can maximize the catch of shrimp trawl.

Abstract

PO cattle have weaknesses to show clear estrus signs which cause difficulty in artificial insemination implementation. The present study was designed to obtain ovarian dynamic as effect of GnRH injection in ovsynch protocol based on progesterone intravaginal device. Heifers (18) and cows (n= 12) were allocated to one of three groups. Cuemate-PGF2? (CP) group inserted with a Cuemate on day 0-7 and injected with prostaglandin on day 7. Cuemate-PGF2?-GnRH (CPG) group was treated as CP group with the addition of GnRH injection on day 9. GnRH-Cuemate-PGF2?-GnRH (GCPG) group was treated as CPG group with addition of GnRH injection on day 0. Ultrasonography was performed on days 0-3, day 7 until ovulation and 7 days after ovulation. Percentage of ovulation synchronization increased significantly (P<0.01) between CP, CPG, and GCPG, respectively, both in heifers (16%, 50%, and 85%, respectively) and cows (0%, 60%, and 100%, respectively), on day 11. Preovulatory follicle diameters between CP, CPG, and GCPG treatments were not different significantly both in heifers (11.9±0.5, 11.9±0.5, and 12.1±0.6 mm, respectively) and cows (11.7±0.4, 11.8±0.7, and 11.1±0.6 mm, respectively). This study concluded that GCPG protocol increased the synchrony of ovulation rate both in cows and heifers, without affecting the follicle preovulatory and CL diameters.Key words: ovarian dynamic, GnRH, ovsych, PO Cattle

Abstract

Layer double hydroxide Mg/Al was synthesized by inorganic synthetic method. Material was characterized using FTIR and XRD analyses and used as adsorbent of procion red dye in aqueous medium.  Factors that affect the adsorption process are adsorption time as the kinetic parameter; and the temperature and concentration of procion red as the thermodynamic parameter. FTIR spectra of layer double hydroxides showed unique vibration at wavenumber 1300 cm-1 and 1600 cm-1. Characterization using XRD shows diffraction angles at 29o, 27o, and 28o, which are typical of Mg/Al double layer hydroxides. Adsorption of procion red using layer double hydroxide Mg/Al resulted adsorption rate 7.1 minutes-1, maximum adsorption capacity 111.1 mg/g at 60 oC with increasing energy by increasing adsorption temperature.   Keywords: Layered double hydroxides, adsorption, procion red.

Abstract

The beef cattle industry in Indonesia hampered by low population and productivity. Apart from genuine adaptability to tropical condition and low input of production, local breeds basically have small body size and low daily weight gain. During the last few years, through artificial insemination (AI) program the government has introduced crossbred of various European breeds with local cattle. Moreover, embryo transfer (ET) program, has also been adopted to support the foundation of elite cattle.    Balai Embrio Ternak (BET) Cipelang, a centre to produce and distribute embryos of high genetic quality cattle is responsible to develop a modern breeding program through embryo technology. The center, since its establishment in 2000, has produced and distributed thousands of bovine embryos of local and exotic breeds [1].  BET Cipelang has mandated to implement a large-scale importation of Belgian Blue (BB) embryos. Nine hundred frozen BB embryos have been imported from Belgium and transferred to recipients at various breeding centres. To study the performance of  the crossbred between local breeds and BB, 1000 frozen semen of BB bulls were imported and inseminated [2}.   The BB cattle has widely known as the breed with double muscling properties. The significance of this project is to study the BB capability on coping up with various local constraints to produce Indonesian BB. The breeding program of the local breed with BB through AI will direct the breeding policy on crossbreeding program. This study was developed to evaluate the success rate of AI and ET, calving ease, calves body weight, daily gains and some other phenotypic performance.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia:Metode Hypnosis Learning merupakan sebuah pembelajaran yang dirancang dengan menciptakan situasi yang nyaman dan menyenangkan dalam lingkungan terkendali untuk dapat masuk ke pikiran bawah sadar. Metode tersebut mengatasi berbagai problem belajar yang dialami oleh anak didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesulitan belajar santri di TPA Sabilillah, berikut konsep dan implementasi metode Hypnosis Learning dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar santri. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan, pertama, proses belajar santri di TPA Sabilillah tidak selalu berjalan seperti apa yang diharapkan. Ada beberapa kesulitan belajar yang dialami, yaitu kesulitan dalam bahasa, kesulitan belajar membaca (disleksia) dan kesulitan dalam menulis (disgrafia). Kedua, penerapan metode Hypnosis Learning menggunakan teknik afirmasi, sugesti dan visualisasi. Ketiga, penerapan Hypnosis Learning mengikuti tahapan-tahapan dan alokasi waktu berikut: persiapan (5 - 10%), presentasi (60%), praktik (30%) dan evaluasi. English:Hypnosis learning method is a learning activities with creating comfort and fun atmosphere in controlled environment in order to approach sub-conscious mind. The learning method solve various learning issues by students. This research is aimed to identify learning issues in Sabilillah Quranic School as well as concept and implementation of Hypnosis learning to solve the problem. Findings shows that, first of all, learnig process in the Quranic School was not as expected. Several issues found were language difficulties, reading difficulties, and writing difficulties. Second, the Hypnosis Learning was implemented through affirmation, suggestion, and visualization techniques. Third, in its implementation, the Hypnosis Learning follow steps and allocated time such as preparation (5-10%), presentation  (60%), practices (30%), and evaluation.

Abstract

Pepper yellow leaf curl disease caused by Begomovirus is a very important disease in chili plantation. The use of pesticides to control this disease has not yielded satisfactory results, so this study aimed to use arbuscular mycorrhiza fungus (AMF), to control curly leaf yellow disease of chili peppers. Pepper seeds were inoculated with AMF, i.e., T0 = seeds without AMF inoculation, T1 = seedlings inoculated with AMF at nursery, T2 = seedlings inoculated with AMF at transplanting, and T3 = seedlings inoculated with AMF at nursery and transplanting. Parameters observed every week were disease intensity and infection rate of yellow leaf curl disease. Results indicated that inoculation of AMF could delay Begomovirus infections and symptoms emergence of pepper yellow leaf curl disease. INTISARIPenyakit daun keriting kuning cabai disebabkan Begomovirus merupakan salah satu penyakit penting pada pertanaman cabai. Upaya pengendalian dengan menggunakan pestisida belum memberikan hasil yang memuaskan, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan Jamur Mikoriza Arbuskular (JMA) dalam mengendalikan penyakit daun keriting kuning pada cabai. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menginokulasi bibit cabai menggunakan JMA dengan perlakuan T0= bibit tanpa inokulasi JMA, T1= bibit diinokulasi pada saat pembibitan, T2= bibit diinokulasi pada saat pindah tanam ke lahan pertanaman cabai, dan T3= bibit diinokulasi pada saat pembibitan dan pada saat pindah tanam ke lahan pertanaman cabai. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap satu minggu sekali dengan parameter pengamatan meliputi intensitas penyakit dan laju infeksi penyakit daun keriting kuning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemunculan gejala penyakit daun keriting kuning cabai pada bibit yang diinokulasi dengan JMA lebih lambat dibandingkan bibit yang tidak diinokulasi dengan JMA.

Abstract

The pillarization of Mg/Al double layer hydroxides using polyoxometalate H3[α-PW12O40]·nH2O by comparing the pillarization time i.e. 3 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours and 48 hours has been done. The product of a pillarization was characterized using an FT-IR spectrophotometer and XRD analysis. The result characterization of FT-IR spectrophotometer does not show the optimum of pillarization each time condition. Characterization using XRD shows the optimum pillarization process at 36 hours by showing the existence of double layer hydroxides material at diffraction angle 11.69o deg, 18.30o deg and 34.71o deg. Diffraction in the 60o-63o deg indicates the existence of a pillarization double layer hydroxides.   Keywords: Layered double hydroxides, pillarization, polyoxometalate H3[α-PW12O40]·nH2O.

Abstract

The development of technology has affected the service business to be able to compete in improving the quality service to the guest. The computerized system has been proven to help companies to launch operational work of its employees. This study aims to determine the significant effect of computerized system on the performance of front office department employees at Planet Holiday Hotel & Residence Batam, and to know the responses of front office department employees who use computerized system. The research method used in this research is quantitative descriptive approach. The data obtained from the results of questionnaires given to respondents and interview as many as 17 people with a census sampling technique which is front office department employees. The hotel uses a computerized system to help running smooth the operational work of its employees in serving guests due to the development and use of technology that is evenly to increase the competition with other hotels as well. From the results of the processed questionnaires, observations, and interviews it can be seen that there is a significant influence between computerized system on the performance of front office department employees at Planet Holiday Hotel & Residence Batam, with the influence of variables of 69.3%. As well as employee responses using computerized systems, prove that the system used is very helpful in completing the work so as to produce good performance.Keywords : Computerized System, Performance, Operational Work, Front Office, Hotel

Abstract

Fishing vessel is one of the units in fishery activities with high operational risk that can cause accidents, both ship and crew accidents. Most of the fishing vessels that operate in Indonesia were made traditionally without any planning. Fishing vessels in Pekalongan Fishing Port still built using traditional methods. Shipbuilding planning requires rules to produce ship construction that meets the standards. The rules that used as a reference is ship classification and ship construction from Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI). BKI was established by implementing technical standards in the activities of design and construction as well as maritime surveys related to floating facilities, including vessels and offshore construction. This study aims to obtain the cross-sectional dimension of some parts of the fishing vessel construction and to analyze the dimension appropriateness of Purse Seine in Pekalongan Fishing Port with BKI standard. This study was used purposive sampling and the data were collected using interview, observation, measurement, and literature study. The data were analyzed using numerically-comparative method. Some parts of fishing vessel constructions measured in this study consisted of keel; high bow; ivory; machine foundation; outer skin; and fences. Research showed that there are 53,18% of construction sizes that meets the criteria of BKI, while there are 46,83% of construction sizes does not meet the criteria of BKI.
